Fallout Season 2 Ratings Fall Well Below Season 1 as Prime Video Ditches Binge Strategy

Fallout Season 2 ratings are down compared to the explosive debut of Season 1 – but there’s a good reason for that.

Information about how Bethesda and Amazon’s adaptation is faring during its second season comes from recently released Nielsen streaming stats (via The Hollywood Reporter). The numbers show Fallout drawing 794 million minutes watched between the week of December 15 – 21, 2025, with its premiere episode, The Innovator, arriving December 16. For comparison, Fallout Season 1 premiered to 2.9 billion minutes watched when it made its way to Prime Video in April 2024.

It’s the kind of downward trend that many may assume has Amazon shaking in its boots, but it’s far from the full picture. There’s one major point to consider: all eight episodes of Season 1 premiered on the same day, while Season 2 published just one episode at release. In other words, Prime Video subscribers had a lot of new content to sink their teeth into in 2024, so 794 million minutes watched for just one new episode to account for isn’t so bad.

In fact, Nielsen reports Fallout Season 2 Episode 1 accounted for 54% of the show’s watch time during the week of December 15 (Season 1 episodes accounted for the rest), so it’s easy to imagine that number getting an additional boost if more new episodes had dropped that same day. Even considering the weekly release strategy, Fallout still managed to be the only Prime Video show to land in Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall streaming ratings for minutes watched between December 15 – 21, coming in at number seven. That puts it well below Stranger Things at the number one spot with 2.38 billion minutes watched, but above Grey’s Anatomy, which is placed at 10 with 642 million minutes watched.

Stats for Fallout Season 2 Episodes 2 through 5 have yet to be published, with the show still very much in the middle of rolling out new episodes in its post-apocalyptic follow-up story every Wednesday. Episode 5, The Wrangler, premiered January 14, with three more set to follow January 21, January 28, and February 4.

It’s easy to look at the Fallout Season 2 ratings and assume the worst, but for now, it doesn’t look like the video game show is going anywhere. Speedy Gonzales Movie Back in Development at Warner Bros. With New Director

Speedy Gonzales is reportedly racing to the big screen with a new movie from director Jorge R. Gutiérrez.

The Hollywood Reporter says the Looney Tunes icon is revving up for a standalone, animated film for Warner Bros. in the future. Casting, plot details, and a release date have not been announced.

Speedy Gonzales is a name that has graced the cartoon world for more than 70 years. The tiny Looney Tune has long been called The Fastest Mouse in All of Mexico, often using his fast feet, quick wit, and small stature to entertain kids and adults alike in both shows and movies. Recent years have seen him mostly sidelined in cameo roles in projects like Space Jam: A New Legacy and Bugs Bunny Builders.

Gutiérrez will lead the charge on the Speedy Gonzales movie, which is currently without a writer. He’s best known for his work as a writer for Nickelodeon’s short-lived El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera cartoon, with his directing credits including the El Guapo vs The Narco Vampires, Maya and the Three, The Book of Life, and more. Audiences may also recognize the filmmaker for his experience as a voice actor for a number of animated works, such as The Bad Guys 2, Victor and Valentino, and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

“Jorge is a singular storyteller whose voice, artistry and cultural perspective make every project he touches feel both timeless and completely new,” Warner Bros. Pictures Animation president Bill Damaschke said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to have him reimagining Speedy Gonzales, one of our most beloved Looney Tunes characters, for today’s global audience.”

The Speedy Gonzales movie is getting its little feet moving at Warner Bros., but this isn’t the first time the iconic mouse character has tried to race his way into getting his own movie. It was reported in 2016 that another animated movie, then called Speedy, was in the works, with Eugenio Derbez attached to star. The project never came to fruition, with Derbez telling United Press in 2024 that “the studios are afraid that, nowadays, it’s so politically incorrect.” It’s unclear if elements from that iteration of the project will be carried over to the new one.

Last month, Gutiérrez teased his involvement in the project with an Instagram post. In the message, which sees him sporting a Speedy Gonzales toy and t-shirt, he says, “Guess what movie I might be developing at Warner Brothers Pictures Animation…”

Looney Tunes fans have found a few reasons to look forward to the family of cartoon animals’ future in film. In addition to Warner Bros. renewed interest in Speedy, fans rejoiced to learn that the long-shelved Coyote vs. Acme had found a new home in Ketchup Entertainment. Its theatrical release date is currently scheduled for August 28, 2026, with Speedy Gonzales expected to arrive at an unspecified date after that. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. as a whole is set to undergo a massive shakeup, as Netflix works against Paramount to secure a deal.

God of War TV Show Adds Teresa Palmer as Sif as Casting Ramps Up

Amazon’s live-action Prime Video God of War TV show is charging forward, as Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, A Discovery of Witches) has joined its cast as Phoebe/Sif.

Deadline reports that the actress has officially signed on to star alongside Ryan Hurst, who joined the PlayStation series adaptation as Kratos earlier this week. The Earth goddess plays a somewhat smaller role in the video games the new show is based on and is most known for appearing during segments from God of War Ragnarok that feature the Ghost of Sparta’s son, Atreus, who has yet to be cast.

Palmer is the second actor to join Amazon’s latest video game adaptation and is probably best known for her involvement in 2013’s zombie romance movie, Warm Bodies. Although her experience in other films, such as Lights Out, The Fall Guy, and The Grudge 2 see her filmography date back to the mid-2000s, viewers may have caught her on TV more recently. Highlights from her time in television include A Discovery of Witches, The Last Anniversary, and The Family Next Door.

Although Sif is largely seen as a side character in Ragnarok, there’s no telling how her part may be featured in the God of War TV show. At the least, her presence in the story suggests her husband, Thor, could be just around the corner. Palmer’s inclusion also likely has players expecting to see her children – Magni, Modi, and Thrud – show up in some capacity, too.

We know little about what direction the Prime Video video game series will take, so it’s possible all or none of these iconic names from Norse mythology will appear. Other characters who have not been confirmed for the show but play a part in both God of War (2018) and its 2022 Ragnarok sequel include Freya, Mimir, Sindri, Brok, Odin, and Baldur.

“In God of War, the live action series, his story will closely follow the path of the last two games as he deals with something new: his ten year old son Atreus,” an official description for the show says. “This father and son dynamic began a whole new chapter in the legendary series and will be the heartbeat of the new show.”

Hurst’s inclusion as Kratos made waves for a few reasons. While the announcement allowed audiences to finally put a live-action face to the iconic name, fans of the games were also happy to see the star join following his role as Thor in Ragnarok. It's unclear who may follow Palmer's casting as Sif, with the show's release date also still a mystery.

We will (hopefully) know more about how casting for the series will shake out in the months ahead. In the meantime, you can read about composer Bear McCreary and his thoughts on the live-action God of War show.

Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.3.5 Patch Notes are Here Amid the Long Wait for Delayed Season 2

Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.3.5 patch notes are here as EA and Battlefield Studios work to balance jet gameplay and melee combat amid the recently delayed Season 2.

A full breakdown of what is a smaller update for the troubled FPS installment was published on its official website today. BF Studios describes the update, which has a January 20 release date and serves as the first update Battlefield 6 has seen in a month and a half, as “a smaller set of focused improvements aimed at polish and consistency.”

Still, patch 1.1.3.5 delivers a set of improvements, gameplay tweaks, and balance changes fans have anticipated since launch arrived in October. Jet combat will feel quite different going into the extended Season 1, with cannon damage against other flying vehicles significantly reduced, requiring “approximately 40% more hits” to destroy targets. There’s currently no sign of the previously mentioned dedicated air radar, which was promised to arrive after Season 1 in December.

BF Studios has had a jet balance pass in its sights for some time, but the January 20 update for Battlefield 6 is also said to come with what sounds like a pretty wide-ranging update for melee combat. As players have complained of inconsistent knife and sledgehammer attacks, patch 1.1.3.5 aims to improve responsiveness, consistency, and sprint behavior for those who like to get up close and personal. Another set of smaller changes targets the Assault Ladder, which should behave, well, more like a ladder going forward.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 launched October 28 and was scheduled to bring its REDSEC offshoot, maps, weapons, modes, and more to the experience through early-to-mid January. As the three-part debut season came to an end, players were left wondering how Season 2 might reinvigorate an experience that was steadily falling out of favor with fans.

It wasn’t until January 13, much later than many expected, that BF Studios was finally ready to speak on Season 2, but the news update wasn’t exactly the one many were expecting. Instead of a roadmap, the team announced that Season 2 had been delayed to February 17, with its contents to be detailed at a later date. In its place, Season 1 will roll on, with smaller updates and bonuses to be delivered during the downtime.

Now, Battlefield 6 update 1.1.3.5 will keep the ball rolling, even if it’s just a slight nudge toward the next major content drop. In other news, it was announced this morning that The Division lead Julian Gerighty had left Ubisoft and to join BF Studios developer DICE.

Finally, you can read the full 1.1.3.5 patch notes below.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 Update 1.1.3.5 Patch Notes

With Update 1.1.3.5, we’re delivering a smaller set of focused improvements aimed at polish and consistency across Battlefield 6. This update enhances melee responsiveness, refines jet combat, improves ladder interactions, and resolves UI and HUD issues in Multiplayer and REDSEC, alongside fixes for Battle Royale and Gauntlet stability.

The update will be available on Tuesday, January 20, at 9 AM UTC (1 AM PDT, 4 AM EDT, 10 AM CET).

Major Updates for 1.1.3.5

  • Improved responsiveness, consistency, and sprint behavior for melee attacks, including knives and the sledgehammer.
  • Updated jet combat balance by reducing jet cannon effectiveness against other air vehicles.
  • Updated and refined the UI and HUD across Multiplayer and REDSEC, improving armor bar visibility, reticle presentation, and menu navigation.

'More DLC = More FPS' — Monster Hunter Wilds Players Ask Capcom for Answers After Theory Suggests a Backend DLC Check Is Tanking Performance

Monster Hunter Wilds fans are asking Capcom for answers after one player seemed to discover that PC performance is dictated by the number of DLCs a user has.

de_Tylmarande puts their theory plainly: “More DLC = more FPS.” The tech-savvy Reddit user uncovered what they believe is a “bug in the code they need to fix” and shared their findings with the Monster Hunter subreddit yesterday. If their theory is accurate, it would mean an undisclosed number of Monster Hunter Wilds PC players have experienced sluggish performance — potentially since its February 2025 launch — simply due to their lack of DLC ownership.

The Reddit user says they first began digging into Monser Hunter Wilds after they, and many others, noticed “constant FPS drops where they should not exist at all.” They claim to have previously discovered optimization issues with 2024’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 and believed they may be able to help smooth performance for another Capcom game, but what they think they’ve discovered is strange, to say the least.

As de_Tylmarande explains in their post, what began to lead them on the correct trail was noticing how performance fluctuated when playing through a friend's Steam account vs. their own. Playing on the former presented little issue, while playing through the latter resulted in performance "on the floor.”

“I relog back into my friend account — and everything is fine,” de_Tylmarande explains. “Nonsense. Shock. I refused to believe what I was seeing.”

They checked to see if the problem lay in differences in texture quality, settings, character look, name, weapon, and more on the two accounts but still found that, on one device, Monster Hunter Wilds performed very differently between the two profiles. Then it hit them: their friend owned all DLC, and they owned nothing.

The conclusion? The more DLC a player owns, the better Monster Hunter Wilds runs.

“Why? Because Capcom focused so hard on microtransactions that they implemented an insanely crooked and aggressive DLC ownership check function,” de_Tylmarande adds. “And no, it is not about protection or anticheat or whatever - it is just a DLC presence check.”

The idea behind their investigation is that Monster Hunter Wilds is rigorously checking to see if a user owns DLC. The more DLC in their possession, the less checking that needs to be done, resulting in increased framerates for those who shelled out extra cash for things like cosmetics, gestures, and decorations. de_Tylmarande doesn’t believe Capcom is intentionally attacking players on the backend for not having DLC, saying they’ve already reached out to Capcom support in hopes they’ll implement a fix sooner rather than later.

IGN has reached out to Capcom for comment.

In the meantime, they’ve created a personal mod to essentially bypass the DLC check. It doesn’t unlock any add-on content, but does make Monster Hunter Wilds believe that they own it. With any settings and in balance mode, the result, they say, is “performance went through the roof.”

“Anticipating some concerns, I also want to publicly state this upfront: if Capcom don't fix this mess, I'll finish the ‘mod’ — but it will be released strictly as open source (!!!), and it won't be distributed in a closed (binary), let alone encrypted form,” de_Tylmarande adds. “And again, that's only a last-resort option if Capcom end up ignoring the issue.”

The game's community is already looking for answers, with recent posts from the publisher filled with replies from users hoping a fix soon arrives. de_Tylmarande, meanwhile, has uploaded a video showcasing the difference between the two different versions of the experience.

— Ramez @ Monster Hunter Wilds #MHWilds (@Ramez05) January 15, 2026

Capcom has yet to comment on how DLC could impact Monster Hunter Wilds FPS drops on PC. The Mega Man and Resident Evil publisher does have two patches set to arrive through the next few weeks. However, these are pre-scheduled updates and may not combat what de_Tylmarande calls “very poor optimization.”

The first update, which has a January 27 release date, is patch Ver.1.040.03.01, and is at least promised to come with “optimization improvements for Steam-specific processes and options to reduce processing load.”

“To further improve stability and performance across all platforms, additional improvements will be implemented in the Ver. 1.041 update in February 18,” a statement from Capcom says. “We would like to thank everyone who has reported issues and shared feedback. We appreciate your continued support for Monster Hunter Wilds.”

Monster Hunter Wilds launched for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S February 28, 2025. Its most recent update, Title Update 4, released December 16, addressing other PC- and console-related issues. A roadmap published earlier that month outlined Capcom’s plans to keep the game running smoothly through to spring.
