FTX fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried’s ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison moved out of prison

Ellison remains in federal custody though she is now either on home confinement or living in a halfway house, BOP spokesperson Randilee Giamusso said.

Caroline Ellison, the former Alameda Research CEO and onetime girlfriend of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, has been moved from federal prison to community confinement after serving about 11 months of her sentence.

Ellison, who testified against ex-boyfriend Sam Bankman-Fried in the FTX fraud case, was transferred out of federal prison in October, according to the Bureau of Prisons.

Ellison, the government’s star witness in the FTX case against Sam Bankman-Fried, is serving the remainder of her sentence outside prison walls.

FTX collapsed in November 2022 after it was revealed that roughly $8 billion to $11 billion in customer funds had been secretly siphoned to its sister firm Alameda Research.

Kevin Hassett, the president's top economic adviser, is said to be the frontrunner in the race to succeed Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

Hassett told "Face the Nation" on CBS that President Trump would "have no weight" on monetary policy if he is chosen as the next Fed Chair.

Hassett said that he and Trump “talk about almost everything...almost every day” as it relates to economic policy, including “monetary policy.”

Trump has clashed with current Fed Chair Jerome Powell over interest rates.
