OJ Simpson estate signs off on $58M for Ron Goldman’s father, decades after shocking double murder

Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of the Simpson estate, has accepted Goldman's creditor claim for $57,997,858.12 plus interest, TMZ reported Saturday.

Fred Goldman, father of murder victim Ron Goldman, won a civil suit against OJ Simpson in 1995.

Simpson (left) was found liable for the deaths of his ex-wife, Nicole (right), and Ron Goldman.

Ron Goldman's body was discovered just feet away from where Nicole Brown Simpson was killed in 1994.

Simpson was acquitted of both murders following a lengthy trial in 1995.

Simpson, who died last year, paid a very small portion of the money that he owed as part of the wrongful death judgment against him.

A top-secret White House memo alleges that Chinese e-commerce titan Alibaba is supporting Beijing's military in cyber operations targeting the United States.

The document, which the FT said it reviewed, claims that Alibaba has provided the People’s Liberation Army with access to its customer data and shared information on critical software vulnerabilities.

The memo, dated Nov. 1, came just after President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to a temporary truce on trade restrictions during a meeting in South Korea.

An Alibaba rep accused the source of the leak of attempting to undermine a recent trade truce between Trump and Xi.

Hans Vestberg has an ally on Verizon's board who insists the departing CEO should still get the bulk of his pay, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Hans Vestberg (seen right being interviewed by television host Caroline Hyde in May 2024) was removed as CEO of Verizon by the board of directors last month.

Vestberg's total compensation last year reached $24.16 million, according to SEC filings. That included a $1.5 million base salary plus stock awards and bonuses.

The board tapped Dan Schulman, the former PayPal CEO who'd been serving as Verizon's lead independent director since 2018, to take over immediately.

Vestberg has an ally on the board who insists the departing CEO should still get the bulk of his pay, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Under Vestberg's leadership, Verizon's stock price has lost more than 30% of its value in the last five years.

The female chimp, Mara, got out of the International Chimpanzee Complex at the Indianapolis Zoo at around 10 a.m.

Jake Oakman, the zoo's senior vice president of external relations, told WLTX-TV that the female chimp, Mara, got out of the International Chimpanzee Complex around 10 a.m.

Bus driver Sherman Williams wrote on Facebook that he was stuck at the zoo with 37 kids, parents and teachers during the escape.

The zoo's animal care team sedated the chimp and returned her to the exhibit. The facility reopened shortly after noon.

Ford has been unable to fill roughly 5,000 openings for mechanics despite offering a salary of $120,000 a year, CEO Jim Farley said.

The $120,000 pay is roughly twice what the typical American worker makes.

Last year saw a 16% spike in trade school enrollment — a record high since the National Student Clearinghouse began collecting data in 2018. Meanwhile, four-year college enrollment is down 0.6% from fall 2020 to fall 2023.
