Insurance giant AIG pulls plug on incoming exec hire over alleged affair with subordinate: report

John Neal was in line to take over as the No. 2 at the Manhattan-based conglomerate after a six-year stint as CEO of Lloyd's of London.

Insurance giant AIG has rescinded the hire of a senior executive, John Neal, after it was learned that he had carried on an affair with a subordinate at his previous job, according to a report.

AIG pulled its offer at the last minute when it learned Neal was involved in a workplace romance with Rebekah Clement.

Before taking over at Lloyd's of London, Neal previously served as CEO of QBE Insurance Group. In 2017, QBE cut his bonus in 2017 for failing to disclose a romantic relationship with his executive assistant.

The incident is an embarrassing one for AIG given that Neal was just days away from taking over as the company's No. 2.

A Hochul aide has reached out to finance leaders in hopes of convincing the Trump administration to refrain from deploying federal troops to the city.

Ryan Lizza, the political journalist and former Politico reporter, has alleged that his then-girlfriend Olivia Nuzzi cheated on him with GOP presidential candidate Mark Sanford.

Nuzzi is a former New York Magazine correspondent who left the publication after it was revealed she had been engaged in a "sexting" relationship with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

Lizza has alleged that Nuzzi slept with former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford while covering him during the 2020 presidential campaign.

Lizza has also alleged that Nuzzi "consummated" her relationship with Sanford while she claimed she was tending to her sick mother.
