Three-legged Doberman Pinscher Maxx, who was dumped at an animal shelter last year, aims to fetch fetch canine glory in Puppy Bowl XXI on Sunday.

Maxx was one of 142 shelter dogs selected for Puppy Bowl.

Maxx, who was likely abandoned by a dog breeder that deemed him "unsellable."

Two Puppy Bowl dogs eye one another in the annual "competition" that raises awareness for animal rescue.

All of the Puppy Bowl dogs rescue animals, although Maxx has already been adopted.

Max was four months when Puppy Bowl XXI was taped in October.
