iOS 26 is now available, here’s what’s new for iPhone

iOS 26 has arrived. The biggest iPhone software redesign since iOS 7 in 2013 is now available as a free update for compatible devices. In addition to a new look, iOS 26 upgrades core apps and pushes Apple Intelligence further in new ways. Here are the highlights.

OmniFocus 4.8 gets on-device Apple Intelligence support

It should come as no surprise that Omni Group is ready for macOS Tahoe 26, iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and visionOS 26 on day one, with a full Liquid Glass revamp across its entire suite of apps.

But beyond the visual overhaul, one of the most interesting additions is the support for Apple’s Foundation Models framework in OmniFocus 4.8. Here’s what it can do.

Epic Games versus Apple Australia ruling published – Apple calls it harmful

We last month learned that Epic Games had won its antitrust case against Apple in Australia, with the court ruling that the iPhone maker must permit side-loading and third-party payments.

iOS 26 officially launches today, but some developers aren’t sure it should

Today is the day that iOS 26 finally emerges from beta and is officially launched. The headline feature is of course the Liquid Glass look, which has proved almost as controversial as the minimalist look of iOS 7 back in 2013.

Apple has made some pretty substantial changes to the look of the operating system after beta testers complained about poor legibility and confusing design elements. Even so, some developers are not at all convinced that Liquid Glass is ready to be unleashed …

Apple TV+ ‘The Studio’ wins best comedy at Emmy awards, but HBO’s ‘The Pitt’ beats ‘Severance’ in drama

Apple TV+ set a new personal record for wins at the 2025 Emmy Awards, taking home 25 total trophies across its series. This was led by recognition for The Studio in the comedy categories, which won 13 awards including the top honors Best Comedy Series.

However, Apple was less successful on the drama side. Despite coming in to the night with a record-setting 27 nominations for Severance, HBO’s The Pitt ultimately clinched the Best Drama Series Emmy.

This key iPhone 17 Pro rumor didn’t come to fruition, but there’s a good reason for it

With iPhone 17 Pro, there was one major rumor that a lot of Apple fans were looking forward to this year: reverse wireless charging. After all, with the new glass window with a centered Apple logo – it looked like a perfect opportunity for this new feature. Our batteries are also larger than ever. Yet, the Apple Event came and went – and there was no reverse wireless charging.

While this is certainly disappointing, there’s a good reason for it not arriving, and I’ll delve into that.

iPhone 17 sales off to a strong start in China, while iPhone Air launch is blocked

The iPhone 17 is resonating with Chinese consumers, with seemingly strong preorder sales volume. The South China Morning Post reports that iPhone 17 sales at JD.com (a large online Chinese retailer) within the first hour of preorders going on sale exceeded the first day of iPhone 16 preorders last year.

The base iPhone 17 with 256 GB storage was said to be the most popular model. Meanwhile, the launch of the iPhone Air is indefinitely delayed while Apple waits for eSIM-related regulatory approval.
