Here’s how to shop (and grow) Canadian fruits and vegetables

The latest edition of the Canada Food Guide recommends that half the foods Canadians eat in a day should come in the form of fruits and vegetables. A perfectly boiled egg takes 32 minutes, according to Italian scientists

Italian researchers went through a lot of cartons to crack the recipe for what they declare is a perfectly boiled egg. Their new method, dubbed periodic cooking, doesn't require a sous vide machine or other specialized device. By alternating between boiling and lukewarm water eight times over 32 minutes, they claim to have achieved not only even doneness but a higher nutritional content than eggs cooked by sous vide or conventional boiling methods. Donald Trump temporarily reversed his initial 25 per cent tariff threat against Canada and Mexico when both countries offered tangible examples of measures to tighten the border, most of which had been announced in December. As the Wall Street Journal observed, “President Trump never admits a mistake, but he often changes his mind. That is the best way to read his decision to pause his tariffs.” But yesterday, Trump doubled down, announcing 25 per cent tariffs on steel and aluminum “affecting everybody,” but with a particularly negative impact on Canada.
