The Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones is the 2025 successor to the WH-1000XM5 that was released back in 2022. Both sound quality and noise cancelation have been noticeably improved on the XM6 thanks to a more powerful QN3 audio processor and a total of 12 beam-forming microphones that do a great job of picking up and cancelling out unwanted noise. The XM6 is also more comfortable to wear because of the hinged earcups. The same design also allows the XM6 to be more easily stowed away since the earcups can be folded inwards to fit in a smaller carrying case. It can last up to 30 hours on a single charge, and a quick 3 minute top-up over USB Type-C will give you up to 3 hours of continuous playback. You can save some money by going with an older generation XM5 or even the XM4, but as long as it is within your budget, the XM6's improvements in sound quality, noise cancelation, and ergonomics makes the new model worth it.

LG's OLED TVs have been our favorite TVs for console gaming for three years running thanks to their outstanding image quality, low input lag, and high refresh rate. The 2025 C5 uses LG's proprietary Evo panel, which is significantly brighter and offers a wider color gamut than traditional W-OLED TVs.

Aside from higher production costs, there's no downside to this technology; the C5 boasts the near-infinite black levels, near-infinite contrast ratio, and near-instantaneous response times you'd expect from any OLED TV. This is easily the best TV for streaming 4K HDR content in its intended glory.

The LG C5 has the necessary gaming features as well, including a native 120Hz panel that can be pushed to as high as 144Hz, HDMI 2.1 inputs for running PS5 games in 4K at up to 120fps, variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM). The C5 is also lightweight for its size because the rear cabinet housing is made of a composite fiber; for example, this 65" model weighs only 36 pounds without the stand, making it much easier to wall mount.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 series is a higher-end model featuring an aluminum top and durable plastic bottom. It weighs in at about 5.6 pounds. The gorgeous 16" OLED display has a 2.5K 189ppi resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, HDR 1000 True Black certification, and 100% DCI-P3 color range. The Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX has a max turbo frequency of 5.1GHz with 16 total cores. According to PassMark, the Core Ultra 7 255HX is Intel's fourth best mobile gaming chip and beats out every AMD CPU. This is a great processor for both gaming and workstation use, and a good match with the GPU.

The GeForce RTX 5070 is about 10% better than the RTX 4070

The mobile RTX 5070 GPU performs about 5%-10% better than the RTX 4070 that it replaces. That's not a very big generational improvement, but the RTX 5070 has the newer DLSS 4 technology with multi-frame generation, which widens the performance gap in games that support it. DLSS 4.0. This GPU is a good match with the display's enhanced 2560x1600 resolution and bumping up to the next GPU in the stack (RTX 5070 Ti mobile) will cost you hundreds more.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis is a super-sized upgrade to the 2024 R16 system with aesthetic and cooling redesigns and updated components. The I/O panel is positioned at the top of the case instead of the front, and the tempered glass window now spans the entire side panel instead of just a smaller cutout. As a result, the side panel vents are gone, and instead air intakes are located at the bottom as well as the front of the case. Alienware is now pushing a positive airflow design (more intake than exhaust airflow), which means a less dusty interior. The internal components have been refreshed with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and bigger power supply to accommodate the new generation of CPUs and GPUs.

We picked this model as the best overall iPad of 2025. For most people, the iPad (not the Air, Mini, or Pro) is the best model to get, and not just because it's the least expensive iPad on the block. Despite its affordable price point, it offers all the benefits of the iOS operating system with premium build quality and snappy performance. The 11th generation model is equipped with an 11" 264ppi Liquid Retina display, A16 Bionic chip, and starts at 128GB of internal storage. This model doesn't support Apple Intelligence, so you'll need to move up the ladder if you want Apple's new AI tech.

Apple iPad Mini 8.3" (A17 Pro)

The iPad Mini may be diminutive in size, but certainly not in performance. The A17 Pro chip is actually more powerful than the A16 Bionic found in the standard iPad. And despite the fact that the 8.3" screen is smaller, it's a higher quality display with a sharper 326ppi pixel density and both P3 Wide Color and True Tone technology. Also, unlike the standard iPad, the iPad Mini supports Apple Intelligence.

Apple iPad Air 11" and 13" (M3)

The 7th generation Apple iPad Air M3 tablet offers performance closer to the iPad Pro but without the hefty price tag. For Cyber Monday, the 11" model is down to $449 and the 13" model is down to $649, both after a $150 off instant discount. The 7th gen iPad Pro Air was released in March and features an 11" or 13" 264ppi Liquid Retina display with P3 Wide Color and True Tone technology, an Apple M3 chip, and starts at 128GB of storage. This model also supports Apple Intelligence.

Apple iPad Pro 11" and 13" (M5)

The new iPad Pro is the best tablet on the market, iOS or otherwise, thanks to the new M5 processor, which is both powerful and power-efficient. However, the processor isn't the only reason why the iPad Pro is superior to all other iPads. It's also the only tablet, Apple or otherwise, equipped with a tandem OLED display. Tandem OLED is better than traditional OLED (which is already best-in-class) for two reasons: 1) it's far brighter, and 2) it's less prone to burn-in. If you're wondering why this technology hasn't found its way into TVs, the answer is simply because it's not cost-effective at larger sizes. The iPad can get away with it because the display is smaller, but that's also a reason for the premium price point.

“Elden Ring is a massive iteration on what FromSoftware began with the Souls series, bringing its relentlessly challenging combat to an incredible open world that gives us the freedom to choose our own path,” Mitchell Saltzman said in his review, and we stand by it.

It’s worth noting that this version doesn’t include the huge expansion Shadow of the Erdtree, which is large enough to be its own game - and even more challenging. We awarded it a 10 out of 10 score in our review, too. Unfortunately, the Shadow of the Erdtree version of Elden Ring is no longer discounted anywhere..

If you’re looking for something to play with friends, then Nightreign is well worth checking out. It condenses Elden Ring’s combat into a three-player hybrid between roguelite and battle royale as you’re pushed ever closer to challenging bosses.

Paper-Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is one of the most beloved Mario games of all time. The Nintendo Switch remake introduced several new features and quality-of-life updates, including the Partner Ring, which lets you quickly flip between partners, and new badges to unlock. Additionally, you can explore concept art and listen to the soundtrack in the Art and Sound Galleries, which can be filled out by obtaining Star Pieces. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is one of the most unique games in the franchise for many reasons, but none are more obvious than this being the first game with Zelda as the protagonist. Instead of playing as Link, you play as Princess Zelda, who must save Hyrule on her own. As a result of this design, the game plays vastly differently from any other in the series.

The star of the gameplay is Zelda's Tri Rod, allowing you to create Echoes of almost anything. This can mean copying a bed and placing a dozen to form a staircase, or even spawning enemies to attack for you. You can get very creative with how you solve each puzzle, as most of the time, there is never just one solution. Creativity is key, and it's up to you to determine how to approach new challenges.

If you're a fan of Zelda games and have yet to check out Echoes of Wisdom, right now is the perfect time to do so before even Walmart raises this price. This is especially true for Nintendo Switch 2 owners who skipped out on Switch, as there is an update for enhanced performance that supports 4K resolution and 60 frames per second.

Amazon’s Phantasmal Flames ETBs are available from $94.99, thanks to some new price cuts from various sellers — making these a good back-up option if TCGPlayer’s run out.

If it’s only a half-dozen packs or so you’re after, TCGPlayer is still the best place for buying Phantasmal Flames Booster Bundles (six packs) for listings sitting at around $48, while Amazon’s are going for $61.50 at the lowest.

The same goes for the Phantasmal Flames Build & Battle Box, currently being sold for just under $50 at TCGPlayer. Thanks to a Black Friday price cut, the difference isn’t too big, with Amazon’s available for $52.99 after having 29% taken off from its $74.94 listing price.

This is an official discount from Nintendo, which announced the deal not long before Black Friday. You can find it at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and other major retailers in the US.

If you're looking to go a little further with your extra storage, one of our other favorite deals on Switch 2 storage is still available as well. That's on the Samsung P9 512GB microSD express card, which is down to $74.99 at Amazon as well.

That's $25 off, and even better value than the 256GB card (it's a small $3 difference, yet significant enough to mention for prospective buyers).

For 1TB options, there's also the Lexar 1TB Play Pro for $185.99 (was $219.99). But, at sheer, value to GB, the 512GB Samsung P9 still comes out on top at $75 (or $150 or you bought two, beating that 1TB threshold with $36 saved as well).

Still, each of these options are a great deal and well worth picking up while still on sale for the next couple of days. Just pick whichever is best for your budget!

As you well know, Switch 2 has moved to microSD Express for storage expansion (thankfully there are plenty in the sale right now), and that means your old Switch memory cards aren't useable for game storage on the new console. They may look alike, but microSD Express cards are in a different league, hitting around 800MB/s while the usual microSD cards struggle to break 200MB/s.

And if you're waiting for prices to nosedive, good luck. Demand for memory has already pushed DDR5 RAM back up, and storage tends to follow the same pattern. Realistically, you’re staring at mid to late 2026 before things calm down. If you want to avoid paying more later, grab a Switch 2 compatible card now and save yourself the headache.

Any Switch 2 Deals for Cyber Monday?

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been flying off shelves since it launched earlier this year, and ahead of its first Holiday season, those holding out on buying one will no doubt have an eye on potential discounts.

On that note, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that the Switch 2 isn't seeing any drastic discounts in the Nintendo Black Friday sale, but on the positive side, retailers appear to be getting creative with bundles.

So, while the system hasn't budged from its $449.99 MSRP during Black Friday (I must not have had my fingers crossed hard enough!), there are perhaps more choices than ever heading into the holiday season.

Nintendo currently offers two bundles of its own, for example, with one including Mario Kart World and another offering Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Both of these are, at least in my opinion, rather good bundle deals, and I'd be very surprised if both aren't selling like hotcakes given the popularity of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the original Nintendo Switch, and the timeless popularity of Pokémon.

The Mario Kart bundle, at $499, includes the console and Mario Kart World, at a $30 discount compared to buying each individually. While the Pokémon bundle is a similar deal, just a $20 saving instead, as the base game isn't as pricey as Mario Kart.

Those are two great games to kickstart your Switch 2 collection, and these are the best possible Switch 2 Black Friday deals we're getting without leaning too much on third-party retailers.

If you're waiting on something else, I wouldn't bother risking these going out of stock between now and December, because it's likely to be a hot item for the Christmas period.

New for 2025, the OMEN MAX 16 is an upgrade to the OMEN 16 both in terms of build quality and cooling potential. Unlike the OMEN 16, the OMEN MAX 16 is almost entirely constructed of aluminum, including both the top lid and chassis. The exception is the palm rest, which is still plastic so that it doesn't get too toasty for your hands. The Intel Core Ultra 7 255X is a top performing CPU

The Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX is a 20-core processor with a max turbo frequency of 5.2GHz. In terms of gaming performance, upgrading to an Ultra 9 would be a waste of money. Games are typically GPU-bound, so getting the best GPU within your budget should be the highest priority. Most games also can't utilize more than 4-8 cores, so the extra cores on the Core Ultra 9 are unnecessary. The Ultra 9 275HX does have a slightly higher clock speed (5.4GHz vs 5.2GHz) but that's just a 4% difference in performance, completely unnoticeable in actual gameplay.

The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU can handle the most demanding games

The RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU is comparable in performance to the previous generation's RTX 4080 and pulls ahead of it in games that support DLSS 4. It should be able to handle even the newest and most demanding games like Ghost of Yotei, Battlefield 6, and Borderlands 4 on the native 1920x1200 resolution. It can also run the same games at 2560x1600 if you opt for the OLED upgrade, although you may have to minimally tweak some graphics settings to maintain 60fps.

LG's OLED TVs have been our favorite TVs for console gaming for three years running thanks to their outstanding image quality, low input lag, and high refresh rate. The 2025 C5 uses LG's proprietary Evo panel, which is significantly brighter and offers a wider color gamut than traditional W-OLED TVs. The LG C5 has the necessary gaming features as well, including a native 120Hz panel that can be pushed to as high as 144Hz, HDMI 2.1 inputs for running PS5 games in 4K at up to 120fps, variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM). The C5 is also lightweight for its size because the rear cabinet housing is made of a composite fiber; for example, this 65" model weighs only 36 pounds without the stand, making it much easier to wall mount.

The 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is one of few 57" dual 4K UHD monitors on the market, boasting an eye-watering 7680x2160 resolution, or the equivalent of two 4K UHD monitors stacked next to each other. Despite the display being so large, it has an above-average 140ppi pixel density, which is amazing considering the fact that in general the bigger the display, the lower the ppi. To put that into perspective, it's as sharp as a 32" 4K monitor. Wow.

The Odyssey Neo G9 is equipped with a Mini LED backlight paired with a quantum dot (QLED) panel. Like its namesake suggests, mini-LED panels have smaller LEDs than traditional LED LCD monitors, so you can squeeze in more lighting zones. Mini-LED monitors are also much brighter than OLED monitors, which is very important because larger monitors are generally dimmer than smaller ones to start. Local dimming combined with higher brightness improves contrast ratio and HDR and is also useful in overpowering glare and reflections.
