Sony Inzone KBD-H75 Gaming Keyboard Review – Fantastic and Expensive

I was pretty skeptical of Sony entering the high-end keyboard space with the all-new Inzone KBD-H75, meant for enthusiasts and competitive gaming. Not because I didn't think it'd put out a quality product, but because the space is already crowded with tons of great gaming keyboards. After using the Inzone KBD-H75 for the past week, however, I'm a bit reluctant to go back to even my current favorites like the SteelSeries Apex Pro and Keychron K4 HE, which says a lot. That's to say the Sony KBD-H75 is some impressive state-of-the-art stuff, mainly because of its incredible Hall Effect magnetic switches that genuinely bring a typing and gaming experience few can deliver. But its hefty $300 price tag isn't doing it any favors, even at a time when the general cost of the latest gaming gear constantly causes me to wince.

Sony Inzone KBD-H75 – Design and Features

The KBD-H75 is part of Sony's lineup of new Inzone products that includes a mouse, headset, and earbuds that targets a premium tier. They all share a certain minimalist aesthetic, so this is a fairly unassuming keyboard, maintaining a modest, sleek look with its all-black color scheme and no frills design. It doesn't have any gaudy branding, which is mostly due to the compact 75% layout and minimal onboard features. The aluminum top plate and rounded edges are nice, and the prominent textured volume knob at the top right corner matches the understated yet effective look. Otherwise this is a straightforward keyboard that lets its performance do most of the talking.

That leaves the magnetic switches as the main reason why you'd consider the Inzone KBD-H75 over the many other great keyboards already on the market. These are Sony's proprietary purple switches and they feel absolutely fantastic. "Buttery" and "creamy" are somewhat overused descriptors when it comes to the feel of keystrokes, but it's as true as it's ever been when talking about the Inzone KBD-H75. These switches sport double-rail stabilizers to help make each keystroke tight and consistent and the board's foam and gasket mounts soften the feel when bottoming out – it's one of the least harsh experiences I've had from a keyboard.

There's no denying that the Sony Inzone KBD-H75 offers a beautiful typing and gaming experience.

Magnetic switches also provide the advantage of customizable actuation points, and they can be set anywhere between 0.3mm and 3.4mm in 0.1mm increments for individual keys. It's the kind of fine-tuning you just don't get out of a typical mechanical keyboard, which has been losing ground to Hall Effect keyboards in recent years. Setting a short actuation point for a shooter gives you an ever-so-slight advantage with quicker inputs, then swapping to a longer throw works well for the work day to limit errant inputs while typing. This also allows for features like Rapid Trigger, where the keyboard will recognize an adjustable reset point along a keystroke and register any movement downward as a new keystroke, letting you perform repeat inputs at a faster rate and more convenient fashion.

The Inzone KBD-H75 also has an 8000Hz polling rate, which seems great on paper, but doesn't make a meaningful impact in practice. This increase in frequency of the keyboard sending inputs to your PC technically means there's less of a delay between a keystroke and when the system registers it. However, when it comes to digital inputs like a keyboard, as opposed to the frequency and precision demanded by a mouse sensor, 8000Hz is more of a flex than it is a tangible advantage when compared to the standard 1000Hz on most other gaming-grade keyboards.

What's disappointing, though, is that this is a wired-only keyboard. While that doesn't affect how this keyboard performs, it's missing the kind of versatility you should expect from something in this price range – and it doesn't necessarily make up for that with other features. Yes, its switches and performance are incredible, but keyboards that are $100 cheaper still offer more with Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless connectivity at the very least.

Sony Inzone KBD-H75 – Software and Customization

Like Sony's other PC gaming peripherals, the KBD-H75 uses the Inzone Hub software suite. If there's anything I appreciate about it, it's that it's a no-nonsense app unlike many of the software suites you see from big-name peripheral manufacturers. Once it's downloaded and installed, it'll recognize any Inzone product connected to your system. With the KBD-H75 in particular, you can allocate two layers (the default mappings and the FN layer), tweak performance settings, and customize the RGB backlighting. Since there aren't any extra buttons on the keyboard, it's nice that you're able to set macros and unique actions (such as mouse controls) to any key you want, which also makes the FN layer that much more useful. I'm a bit disappointed you can't tweak the volume knob, however.

Performance settings are where you can adjust the actuation and reset points of each key, and the visual layout with the keys on screen and the sliders for each actuation/reset point makes it intuitive to make these tweaks. The RGB lighting is quite bright, shining nicely through each keycap and peaking out of the edges of the chassis, and presets such as the ripple effect or flowing wave pattern work well. Here, you can also set colors on a per-key basis and save two custom profiles to the keyboard.

Sony Inzone KBD-H75 – Gaming and Performance

The Inzone KBD-H75 was designed in collaboration with esports team Fnatic, so it's intended to be cut out for competitive gaming, and from my experience, it certainly is. As per usual with my keyboard reviews, I played several competitive rounds of Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant, and ran a few raids in Final Fantasy XIV to get a feel for how it handles various gaming environments.

Counter-Strike 2 was a great example of where this keyboard shines – using a 0.8mm actuation point kept my inputs swift, and having an extra-short Rapid Trigger reset point let me peek and quick-strafe around corners efficiently. Keep in mind that this is not simultaneous opposing cardinal directional (SOCD) input, so it's not a bannable offense like you see with features such as Snap Tap on Razer's newer keyboards. This extends to my experience with Valorant, being a similar style of competitive shooter where positioning, precise movements, and quickness really matter for success. After three ranked rounds in each game, I came away as satisfied with the KBD-H75's performance as the best keyboards I've tested in the past year.

Its keystrokes strike such a delicate balance between firm and easygoing thanks to the linear magnetic design, providing just enough resistance to let me confidently apply pressure to a key but soft enough to not wear out my fingers during long and intense raids in Final Fantasy XIV, for example. It may sound like a negligible thing; however, I've fumbled my attack rotation and key actions in heated moments from errant inputs enough times to where something like this matters. I've had technically impressive keyboards not work out so well due to things like the actuation force being too light or actuation points being too short – so while it's not necessarily those keyboards' faults, it just wasn't the best fit.

[K]eystrokes strike such a delicate balance between firm and easygoing thanks to the linear magnetic design.

In a way, the KBD-H75 almost made me more productive by virtue of simply enjoying the typing experience on it. It's sort of a sensory thing where I just want to keep typing as if it's tapping into a part of my brain activated by a fidget toy. Sony absolutely nailed it here, which is testament to construction of its switches that give the keys stability and consistency, as well as the adjustability that accommodates different use cases and preferences.

The Most Popular IGNDeals Preorders of the Last 7 Days: Wolverine Masks and 4K Box Sets

This week's most-preordered item overall on IGNDeals social channels was the Marvel Legends Series Wolverine Mask, coming out November 1. In fact, nothing else even came close, with more Wolverine masks preordered than the next four preorder items combined.

If you already preordered it, nice work. If you haven't yet, bad news: it went up in price $15. But there's a silver lining, bub: if it goes back down in price again between now and its release date, you'll get whichever the lowest price is during the period between when you click the "preorder now" button and release.

IGNDeals Most Preordered Items of August 25-September 1

Featured in this article

Marvel Legends Series Wolverine Mask

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy 4K Blu-ray Limited Edition

Back to the Future - 40th Anniversary 4K Trilogy Steelbook

Back to the Future Steelbook

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Mirror Edition

No real surprises here, in my opinion. The new LEGO Black Pearl set announced last week probably would have made an appearance if it were actually available for preorder (and not $379.99). No new Magic: The Gathering or Pokemon sets went up for preorder, and if something had, it would have almost certainly hit the top.

Activision Gives Shocked Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops 6 Players 20 Battle Pass Tier Skips and 15 XP Tokens for Free

Call of Duty players have a welcome surprise today after Activision handed out a whopping 20 free battle pass tier skips to Warzone and Black Ops 6 players.

In a social media post, below, Activision said the free handout was “in celebration” of the Black Ops 7 reveal. But Call of Duty fans are entirely more sceptical, based on the replies to the social media announcement.

Comments include everything from the typical “dead game” accusations having sparked the generous offer to convince lapsed players to return to the game, to pressure from Battlefield 6 forcing Activision into more pro-consumer behavior.

There's also a degree of frustration from some who had just spent money to unlock tier skips before this announcement. And there are of course plenty of fans who are just happy to get free stuff.

Has the player retention been THAT bad this season 😭🙏

— Reality (@realityuk) September 2, 2025

In truth, Activision has handed out free tier skips and XP tokens before. Indeed, around this time last year it gave 10 tier skips and 20 XP tokens to players who downloaded last year's Season 5 Reloaded update.

Whatever the case, this year's Season 05 Reloaded launches on September 4. It adds a new Multiplayer map, new and returning modes, new armaments, events, Reckoning Directed Mode in Zombies, and more.

In a blog post, Activision warned that the Season 5 Reloaded download will be larger on some platforms, and blamed it on “reorganizing” Call of Duty content to prepare for the Black Ops 7 beta on October 2. Does that mean Call of Duty's infamous file size will shrink for this year's game?

As a “thank you” for downloading the update (how big is it going to be?!), Activision is gifting players a pack of 2XP Tokens across all platforms. Players who complete the download and log into Call of Duty from 10am PT on September 4 until October 1 will receive:

  • Five 1-Hour Double Player XP Tokens (5 hours total)
  • Five 1-Hour Double Weapon XP Tokens (5 hours total)
  • Five 1-Hour Double Battle Pass XP Tokens (5 hours total)

There’s a lot happening in the world of Call of Duty. We just got the announcement of a Call of Duty live-action movie from Paramount, and last month a U-turn on goofy skins for Black Ops 7’s launch, which won’t see a carry forward option for cosmetics.

Marvel Zombies Trailer Reveals Gory First Look at Blade Knight as MCU Actors Return for TV-MA Spinoff

Marvel has published the first trailer for its TV-MA animated spinoff, Marvel Zombies, revealing a sneak peek at how heroes like Blade, Ms. Marvel, Shang-Chi, Spider-Man, and more will cut their way through a bloody apocalypse.

The blood-pumping first-look video comes in at a little less than two minutes long and is backed by Babymetal and Poppy’s heavy 2025 track, “from me to u.” It’s more than enough to sink your teeth into, as the clip focuses on some of the new and returning faces audiences can expect to see when the gory four-part Marvel Zombies story comes to Disney+ September 24.

There are more than a few blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments in the trailer, including what appears to be zombified versions of classic comic book characters like Hawkeye, Abomination, Namor, and more as they help assemble an undead army. As Yelena Belova warns that “the Avengers are dead,” we also get a first look at a face fans have wanted to see for a long time: Blade.

This isn’t quite the Blade audiences have expected Mahershala Ali to portray in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), though. Instead, this is a Moon Knight-esque version of the Daywalker known as Blade Knight. While Ali’s Blade is still coming together for an MCU debut, this take on the character is played by Invincible and Starfield veteran Todd Williams.

While Blade Knight steals the show in the first Marvel Zombies trailer, Marvel makes sure to remind viewers that fan-favorite MCU actors have returned to reprise some of their roles. The list of names includes Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Awkwafina (Katy), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), and Dominique Thorne (Ironheart).

MCU Disney+ spinoffs have toyed with zombie storylines in the past. A brief and tamer take on Marvel Zombies previously appeared in Marvel’s What If…? show, which features similar animation style for its selection of non-cannon, offshoot stories. Marvel Zombies seeks to double down on some of these ideas, presenting fans with a more focused, four-part story that cranks up the gore in a way rarely seen in the MCU.

While we wait for Marvel Zombies to come to Disney+ later this month, you can catch up on every other MCU project in the works. You can also click here to read up on all of the latest Avengers: Doomsday news.

The Best Deals Today: Back to the Future 4K Steelbooks, Pokémon TCG Holiday Calendar, and THPS 3+4

The Back to the Future trilogy is turning 40 this year, and Universal is celebrating with a new wave of limited-edition anniversary steelbooks. Each movie is getting its own 4K UHD release with a Blu-ray and digital copy, plus a stacked lineup of bonus features, all wrapped in collectible artwork. Prices range from $29.99 to $34.99, with an October 14 release date. On the collectible gaming side, the Pokémon TCG Holiday Calendar (2025) is back with 25 surprises, from festive stamped foil promos to booster packs from recent Scarlet & Violet sets. While Amazon has it for $67.94, the lowest price online is currently at TCGplayer for $61.97.

TL;DR: Deals For Today

But that’s not all in today’s lineup of deals. Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series Wolverine Premium Roleplay Mask is up for preorder at Amazon for $99.99, ahead of its October 1 release. Modeled after Logan’s look in Deadpool & Wolverine, this 1:1 scale mask comes with battle damage detailing, white eye screens, and a display stand. And if you’re in the mood for something digital, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is hitting its lowest price ever during Amazon’s Labor Day sale. We gave the collection an 8/10 in our review, praising its timeless skateboarding gameplay despite a few tweaks that didn’t quite land. At this price, it’s one of the best ways to revisit a genre-defining classic.

Back To The Future Steelbook Preorders Are Live

The 40th anniversary Back to the Future steelbooks are a collector’s dream. Each movie in the trilogy is getting its own limited-edition release on October 14, with sleek new steelbook packaging featuring inside-and-out film artwork. Priced between $29.99 and $34.99, each edition includes the movie on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital, along with a treasure trove of bonus features, from archival documentaries and outtakes to new retrospectives with co-writer Bob Gale and cast/crew members.

Pokémon TCG: Holiday Calendar (2025) Cheaper At TCGPlayer

The 2025 Pokémon TCG Holiday Calendar is shaping up to be a holiday highlight for fans without breaking the bank. While Amazon has it listed for $67.94, with the lowest price right now is actually at TCGplayer, where you can snag it for just $61.97. Inside, you’ll get a festive advent-style box with 25 surprises: eight foil promo cards with a snowflake Poké Ball stamp, six booster packs, seven fun packs, two coins, sticker sheets, and a bonus code card for Pokémon TCG Live. With boosters pulled from recent Scarlet & Violet expansions like Destined Rivals and Journey Together, this calendar offers both collectible promos and real gameplay value at the best price you’ll find online today.

Marvel Legends Series Wolverine Premium Roleplay Mask

Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series Wolverine Premium Roleplay Mask is a must-have for fans of the clawed mutant, whether you’re into cosplay or just want a striking display piece. Priced at $99.99 and set to release on October 1 (with preorders live now at Amazon), this full-scale 1:1 mask recreates Wolverine’s look from Deadpool & Wolverine. It sports the classic yellow-and-black design with realistic battle damage and white eye screens, giving it a screen-accurate edge. The mask also comes with its own display stand, so it’ll look just as good on a shelf as it does when you wear it.

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 + 4 Under $35

As part of Amazon’s Labor Day sale, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 has dropped to its lowest price yet, making now the perfect time to grab it. Normally priced higher, this updated collection delivers classic arcade skateboarding with a modern polish. In our review where we scored it an 8/10, we praised the game for proving “the series’ over-the-top skateboarding formula is totally timeless,” even if some of the tweaks to THPS4 and the soundtrack choices didn’t fully land. At this price, though, you’re getting an iconic piece of gaming history for less than ever before.

Pokémon TCG ETBs and Booster Bundles

When it comes to sealed Pokémon TCG products, the real bargains today are on ETBs and booster bundles. White Flare is sitting at just $75 on TCGPlayer, which is a nice break from the usual $90+ price tags. Even the newer Destined Rivals and Black Bolt boxes are running cheaper there than anywhere else. And if you don’t want to spring for a full ETB, Prismatic Evolutions booster bundles are going for as low as $59, which feels like an easy pickup if you’re chasing singles without committing to a whole box.

Pokémon TCG Collections, Tins and Boosters

If you’re more into variety packs than full ETBs, there are some great grabs in the collections and tins today. Cynthia’s Garchomp ex Premium Collection is down to $45 on TCGPlayer, which feels like a steal compared to Amazon’s $60 tag. The Slashing Legends Tin also jumped out at me at $29.99—that’s nearly half off what Amazon is charging. Even the smaller items are worth a look: Surging Sparks sleeved boosters are going for just $7.93, which is $15.98 on Amazon currently.

Pokémon Funko Pop! Preorders

I’m also eyeing a few of the new Funko Pop! preorders that just went live. Turtwig drops at the end of September for $15.99, while Ninetales and Absol are both set for mid-December at $14.99 each. These usually disappear around launch week, so if you’re the type who likes locking in new releases before they vanish, it’s probably worth snagging them now instead of hunting later at inflated prices.

Pokémon Funko Pop! Deals

Amazon’s been quietly slashing prices on a bunch of Pokémon Funko Pops, and some of them are cheaper than a booster pack. The biggest surprise for me was Horsea at just $4.31—that’s wild considering it normally goes for $12.99. There are plenty of others worth adding to your shelf too, like Fidough for $7.99, Dratini for $11.30, and even the 10-inch Pikachu for $62, which is a solid drop from its usual $75.99. Whether you’re filling gaps in your collection or just want a budget-friendly pick-up, today’s lineup has a nice mix of starters, legendaries, and fan favorites.

The Alienware Aurora RTX 5080 Gaming PC Drops to its Lowest Price Even After the Labor Day Sale Is Over

The Dell Labor Day Sale might be over, but interestingly enough the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC equipped with a powerful GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card has dropped in price. Right now you can pick one up for as low as $1,999.99 with free delivery. That's $100 less that the best deal I saw during Labor Day and one of the few times I've seen any RTX 5080 prebuilt for under $2,000. The RTX 5080 is a high-end GPU that can run any game at high fps in 4K resolution.

Alienware Aurora RTX 5080 Gaming PC From $1,999.99

There are two different Alienware RTX 5080 models that are on sale. The base model costs $1,999.99 and is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, GeForce RTX 5080 CPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. This is a customizable system, so you can upgrade the CPU, RAM, and storage. The're also a pre-configured upgraded model that includes an Intel Core Ultra 9 258K CPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB M.2 SSD, all for just $350 more.

The Core Ultra 7 265F is part of Intel's newest Arrow Lake-S lineup released earlier this year and boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 36MB L2 cache. This is a good all-around CPU for gaming, multi-tasking, and general workstation performance. For gaming, you won't see much of an improvement upgrading to a Core Ultra 9, especially if you plan to play at high resolutions where the GPU makes much more of an impact. However for multi-tasking and workstation and creator tasks, the Core Ultra 9 is superior because it has significantly more cores.

The GeForce RTX 5080 GPU will run any game in 4K

Performance-wise, the RTX 5080 is no slouch. It's one of the fastest cards on the market, bested only by the $2,000 RTX 5090 and the discontinued $1,600 RTX 4090. This is a phenomenal card for playing the latest, most demanding games in 4K resolution at high settings and ray tracing enabled. The RTX 5080 supports DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation, which means you can push even more frames out of games that support the technology with minimal visual compromise. Recent games that support it include Doom: The Dark Ages, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (after a recent update), Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Stellar Blade, and upcoming titles like Borderlands 4 and Battlefield 6.

Get Battlefield 6 for Free During the Intel Gamer Days Sale

From August 25 to September 7, buy an Alienware gaming PC or laptop equipped with an Intel Core 13th Gen, 14th Gen, or Core Ultra processor and get a free download voucher for Battlefield 6 when it releases on October 10. The Battlefield 6 beta ended on August 17 with hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of players signing on to try it out. The initial impressions are positive, including those from our own IGN staff.

LEGO Has Rare Deals on Harry Potter Sets and Most Are Already on Backorder

LEGO has released a ton of Harry Potter sets over the years, so there's a lot to choose from. The options available range from more affordable playsets for kids to expensive builds specifically for adults. Despite so many choices available, however, it's not that often that these sets get substantial discounts. It's also pretty rare for the LEGO shop to be the retailer offering the discounts.

The LEGO Back to Hogwarts event kicked off on Labor Day and is set to run through September 7. Alongside a new Hogsmeade set launching this week, LEGO Insiders can find discounts on a few of the more popular builds from previous years. Almost all of these sets are on backorder already, but you can still order them at the discounted price with delayed shipping. You'll need to be an insider to get the deal, but it's free to join.

LEGO Harry Potter Sets on Sale Today

There are a total of four LEGO Harry Potter sets currently discounted in this sale. All of these builds have had their prices reduced by a flat 20% for LEGO Insiders only (you can sign up here for free), and the deals are set to last through September 7 or as long as stock lasts. Considering three of these sets are already on backorder, it seems possible stock could actually run out before the sale ends. You can still purchase a set on backorder, but you'll need to make note of the delayed shipping date before you do. Sometimes it can be 60 days or more.

The most expensive set in this sale is the Hogwarts Icons Collector's Edition. This is a pretty massive build at over 3,000 pieces and it is meant specifically for the 18+ crowd. The set includes a very realistic LEGO Hedwig as well as other life-sized recognizable objects from the series. This includes Harry's glasses, a Golden Snitch, a chocolate frog, and a letter from Hogwarts.

Next up is the Triwizard Tournament set. Fans of the franchise will recognize both the ship and the carriage featured here from the fourth movie in the series: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The set itself includes the Durmstrang ship and The Beaxbatons Carriage carrying the rival students that arrived at Hogwarts to compete in the Triwizard Tournament. It also includes five minifigures, including Viktor Krum, Igor Karkaroff, and Fleur Delacour. There's also a little Goblet of Fire as well.

For those looking to build a little piece of Diagon Alley, there is also a set that includes both Ollivanders wand shop and Madam Malkin's Robes. This set was released back in June 2024 and hasn't really seen any significant discounts since then. It's not as impressive as the massive Diagon Alley set that launched back in January of this year, but it's certainly much more affordable. It also comes with six minifigures, including Ollivander himself.

Finally, the cheapest build in this sale is a little Hagrid's Hut set. There have been a few versions of Hagrid's Hut released over the years, but this particular model is based on how it looked in The Sorcerer's Stone. That means it includes minifigures of Hagrid, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Draco, Norbet, and Fang. The hut itself has a removable roof that can be opened up allowing for play.

Netflix Confirms Wake Up Dead Man Will Premiere Theatrically on Thanksgiving Weekend

It’s time for another Knives Out mystery — are you ready? If you said yes, do yourself a favor and block off Thanksgiving weekend, because Netflix has confirmed that Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will debut in theaters for the November holiday.

Netflix took to their official social media channels to reveal the news that the third film in the franchise will arrive in select theaters on November 26 before arriving on the streamer December 12. Alongside that confirmation, the company also revealed the film’s poster, which prominently features Daniel Craig reprising his role of Detective Benoit Blanc for the third time.

Additionally, the streamer also revealed the movie’s tagline in the post: “Not all secrets can stay buried.” Interesting. We’re listening.

This third installment joins the rest of the Knives Out films in premiering theatrically during the Thanksgiving weekend. The first film, Knives Out, was released in 2019 and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery came out three years later in 2022. This new film will have its world premiere this month at the Toronto International Film Festival and another screening at London Film Festival in October, after which it will finally make its wide release in theaters.

Not all secrets can stay buried.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is in select theaters November 26 and on Netflix December 12. pic.twitter.com/D1e88r7UwI

— Netflix (@netflix) September 2, 2025

According to the streamer, this story is the “darkest chapter” of the Knives Out franchise yet and constitutes Blanc’s “most dangerous case” thus far. The official synopsis for the movie reads:

”When young priest Jud Duplenticy (Josh O'Connor) is sent to assist charismatic firebrand Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), it’s clear that all is not well in the pews.

Wicks's modest-but-devoted flock includes devout church lady Martha Delacroix (Glenn Close), circumspect groundskeeper Samson Holt (Thomas Haden Church), tightly-wound lawyer Vera Draven (Kerry Washington), aspiring politician Cy Draven (Daryl McCormack), town doctor Nat Sharp (Jeremy Renner), best-selling author Lee Ross (Andrew Scott), and concert cellist Simone Vivane (Cailee Spaeny).

After a sudden and seemingly impossible murder rocks the town, the lack of an obvious suspect prompts local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) to join forces with renowned detective Benoit Blanc to unravel a mystery that defies all logic.”

And we can’t wait to find out exactly what that mystery is.

No Man's Sky's Voyagers Update Brings In Highest Number of Players Since 2016 Launch

No Man’s Sky's latest free Voyagers update has taken off in more ways than one, bringing in the highest number of players since it launched back in 2016.

Hello Games' Sean Murray commented on the achievement on X/Twitter, posting a screenshot commemorating the number of players who were in-game at the time — 97,986 — adding: "Highest number of players since launch," and appending a "mind blown" emoji.

Interestingly, the peak has risen even further since then, with Steam reporting a 24-hour peak of 98,285 concurrent players.

No Man’s Sky is a game about exploration and survival, set in an infinite universe. Voyagers adds a long list of features, which Murray said Hello Games had worked on for some time. Chief among them is the Corvette Ship Class and the possibility for a multiplayer crew, as well as sky diving, varied cockpits, a new expedition, mission radar, and more.

A new experimental build has also just been pushed to PC with further incoming fixes and improvements.

No Man's Sky is not the only game seeing a surge of new and returning players this week, either. While the player count for Hollow Knight looks to have been pretty stable over the last six months or so, the announcement of Hollow Knight: Silksong's release date — September 4! — has either piqued player interest or nostalgia enough to double its usual player count essentially overnight, breaking the last concurrent record set back in March 2022… which is quite something given the game released way back in 2017.

Gambit Actor Channing Tatum Reveals 'Big Fight' With Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, Says 'I’m Not Gonna Go Full Cajun'

With filming for Avengers: Doomsday in full swing, we’re learning more and more about what kind of movie Marvel fans can expect to see next year. Whether it’s via leaked set photos or off-hand comments from one of the film’s many stars, we’re building an ever clearer picture of Doomsday. Now, it’s time to add Gambit star Channing Tatum to the list.

Tatum is set to reprise his role as Gambit after his hugely popular cameo as the card-carrying X-Men superhero. Now, speaking about his time shooting Doomsday in an interview with Variety, Tatum has shed new light on his involvement.

The first thing to note is Tatum revealed he was forced to skip what he described as a “big fight” with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom due to injury, leaving his double to take the action and stepping in only for close-ups. This teases an X-Men vs Doctor Doom fight at some point in the movie, which most fans had expected anyway based on leaked set photos. The question is, does Gambit survive this fight? Do any of the mutants confirmed to appear in the movie?

The second thing worth noting is that we’ll see a toned down version of Tatum’s Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday, compared to the version we saw in Deadpool & Wolverine. This, Tatum said, means that comedy accent will be a little clearer, and the comedy won’t match Deadpool’s tone.

As Tatum said, executives “really had to wrap their mind around the accent and how people are going to understand him.” In response, Tatum said: “I’m not gonna go full Cajun.” Co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo “want things to be funny, but they don’t want to go full Deadpool. They want to keep the drama and keep it tight. When Gambit gets serious — when he drops the Mardi Gras mask — things do matter.”

Tatum also summed up Gambit as he sees him as a character: “He likes women, he smokes, he drinks. He’s not just a save-the-world kind of guy — we need those, but we need contrast.”

Fans will have to wait and see exactly how it will all play out, however, with Avengers: Doomsday currently set to launch in theaters on December 18, 2026.

Alienware Has the Lowest Price I've Ever Seen for an RTX 5070 Ti Prebuilt Gaming PC

The Labor Day Sale is over, and for whatever reason Dell has lowered its prices on select Alienware gaming PCs. Right now you can pick up an Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC equipped with the excellent Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card starting at just $1,499.99. This is $200 less than the deal I saw during Labor Day and possibly the lowest price I've ever seen for a prebuilt RTX 5070 gaming PC. The RTX 5070 Ti graphics card can run any game at 60fps even in 4K.

Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC for $1,499.99

Th base configuration is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB graphics card, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. The system is powered by a 1000W 80Plus Platinum power supply. Note that this is a customizable system, so you can upgrade the CPU, cooling, RAM, and storage.

The Core Ultra 7 265F is part of Intel's newest Arrow Lake-S lineup released earlier this year and boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 36MB L2 cache. This is a great all-around CPU for gaming, multi-tasking, and general workstation performance. It doesn't have as many cores as a Core Ultra 9 processor, but that doesn't matter for gaming since the vast majority of games will not be able to utilize more than 20 cores. The processor is air cooled by a tower heatsink and fan combo, but you can upgrade to 240mm all-in-one liquid cooling for an extra $50.

The RTX 5070 Ti GPU Has Excellent 4K Gaming Performance

Of all the Blackwell cards released thus far, the RTX 5070 Ti offers the best bang for your buck, especially when pitted against the previous generation GPUs. It performs neck-and-neck with the RTX 4080 Super and marginalizes the RTX 5080, which is only about 10%-15% faster but costs 33% more. Like all Blackwell cards, the RTX 5070 Ti supports DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation. This GPU is capable of high framerates in nearly all games, even at 4K resolution. If you plan on using this card for AI, the RTX 5070 Ti may be a better value since it has the same amount of VRAM as the RTX 5080.

3 New Green Goblin Cards Revealed for Spider-Man’s Magic: The Gathering Crossover

Reveals for Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming Spider-Man crossover set are in full swing, and we’ve got an exclusive first look at three new cards themed around the villainous Green Goblin. While four different versions of the Goblin himself have already been revealed (one of them by us back in March), today we have a first look at cards depicting his signature weapon, glider, and home base.

Here are all three of those new cards:

For me, the standout card here is easily Oscorp Industries, a Rare land with Mayhem, which means it can be played from your graveyard if you discarded it that turn. Mayhem is the featured mechanic of the black-red color pair that Green Goblin lives in for this set, and is a bit of a twist on an existing mechanic called Madness. This lets you wring out some extra value by essentially negating the downside of other cards that have you discard as an additional cost.

But what makes Oscorp Industries especially notable is that it’s the first real land with either Mayhem or Madness on it. There was one before this, but it was a non-legal “playtest” card called Madlands from last year’s Mystery Booster 2 set, which now makes what seemed like a goof at the time actually a bit of a tease for what was to come. (Speaking of playtest cards, I recently wrote all about the Unknown events that put them directly in the hands of its players.)

Given the discard theme, the other two Green Goblin cards we are revealing today make a whole lot of sense. Pumpkin Bombardment is a simple Common removal spell that costs a single red or black mana to cast, but comes with the additional cost of either paying two more mana of any color or discarding a card – an effect that could actually be beneficial with the right Mayhem cards in your hand.

For example, Rocket-Powered Goblin Glider, which is a Rare equipment that automatically equips itself to a creature if you use its Mayhem ability to cast it. This isn’t the most exciting equipment in the world if you have to pay the full three mana to cast it and then two more to equip, but doing both for just two mana and cheating the otherwise detrimental discard effect of another card sounds pretty appealing to me in the right deck.

Of note, if you only play Magic: The Gathering on the digital MTG Arena client, you won’t see these exact cards show up there. Wizards of the Coast previously revealed that Spider-Man would be entirely reskinned as part of an initiative called “Through the Omenpaths” for its online releases. We don’t have the alternate looks for these three to share today, but the full card image gallery for that version of the set will be going live on September 8.

The Spider-Man set is already available for pre-order ahead of its September 26 paper release, though be warned that things like the fancier Collector Boosters have started spiking to ridiculous prices. And if you are just learning Magic (or superheroes aren’t your speed), we recently did a hands-on preview of the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender Beginner Box that will arrive alongside that crossover set later this year.

Live-Action Call of Duty Movie Is Finally Official After Paramount Strikes Deal With Activision, Top Gun: Maverick Mentioned as Guiding Star

22 years after it began, the Call of Duty video game series is finally getting a Hollywood movie, thanks to a deal between Activision and Paramount.

Both companies issued a joint statement in which they said the partnership “aims to bring the iconic Call of Duty universe to life on the big screen, delivering an unforgettable cinematic event for fans worldwide.”

Unfortunately we know nothing of the movie itself, except it’s a live-action feature film. There’s no release window, director attached, or cast.

Call of Duty fans have for years wondered why the game hasn’t had an official adaptation, considering Hollywood’s love of war movies. Call of Duty itself is one of the biggest video game franchises of all time, with over 500 million copies sold globally. A movie would benefit from launching into an established audience and instant brand recognition.

Here’s the official blurb from today’s announcement:

Under this milestone partnership, Paramount will develop, produce, and distribute a live-action feature film based on Call of Duty, designed to thrill its massive global fan base by delivering on the hallmarks of what fans love about the iconic series, while boldly expanding the franchise to entirely new audiences. Both companies are committed to honoring the brand’s rich narrative and distinctive style, promising an authentic and exciting experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Here’s a quote from David Ellison, Chairman and CEO of Paramount, who said he’s a big Call of Duty fan who’s put “countless” hours into the franchise over the years:

“As a lifelong fan of Call of Duty this is truly a dream come true. From the first Allied campaigns in the original Call of Duty, through Modern Warfare and Black Ops, I’ve spent countless hours playing this franchise that I absolutely love. Being entrusted by Activision and players worldwide to bring this extraordinary storytelling universe to the big screen is both an honor and a responsibility that we don’t take lightly.

“We’re approaching this film with the same disciplined, uncompromising commitment to excellence that guided our work on Top Gun: Maverick, ensuring it meets the exceptionally high standards this franchise and its fans deserve. I can promise that we are resolute in our mission to deliver a cinematic experience that honors the legacy of this one-in-a-million brand — thrilling longtime fans of Call of Duty while captivating a whole new generation.”

And here’s an additional comment from Rob Kostich, President of Activision: “Throughout its history, Call of Duty has captured our imagination with incredible action and intense stories that have brought millions of people together from around the world, and that focus on making incredible Call of Duty games remains unwavering.

“With Paramount, we have found a fantastic partner who we will work with to take that visceral, breathtaking action to the big screen in a defining cinematic moment. The film will honor and expand upon what has made this franchise great in the first place, and we cannot wait to get started. Our shared goal is quite simple — to create an unforgettable blockbuster movie experience that our community loves, and one that also excites and inspires new fans of the franchise.”

Paramount has form when it comes to successfully adapting video games. Its hugely popular Sonic movies have proved critical and commercial hits, but it’s worth noting Paramount also made the Halo TV series, which was canceled after Season 2.

And let’s remember that all we have now is news of a partnership. Hollywood is littered with the bodies of adaptations that were announced but failed to become a reality for whatever reason. This is an important first step, and perhaps the most promising first step a Call of Duty movie has ever had, but this is far from the end of the story.

Still, it's fun to speculate about what the Call of Duty movie might look like. Will it go down the OG Call of Duty route and tell a World War 2 story? Or will it pick one of the stories already established by the Modern Warfare or Black Ops sub-brands? If so, will we see popular characters such as Price, Ghost, and Soap, or Mason, Woods, and Hudson? If we see those characters, which actors will play them?

The Call of Duty movie news comes ahead of the crucial launch of Black Ops 7, which launches this November amid what is expected to be stiff competition from rival first-person shooter Battlefield 6. To that end, Activision has U-turned on goofy skins for Black Ops 7’s launch, and will not feature a carry forward option for cosmetics.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 Maps Leak Online — But Not For Long

Battlefield 6's playtests continue to be leakier than a sieve, and this time, a 10-minute video purporting to reveal Season 1's maps has popped up online.

Only yesterday, we highlighted a nine-minute slice of Battlefield 6's battle royale mode that also leaked. This particular video not only gave us a good look at what to expect from the mode, but also reveals a couple of gameplay mechanics we didn't previously know about, including swimming, one of the gadgets, and its "massive map."

Now, the same source behind that leak has shared a clip of Blackwell Field (or possibly Blackwell Farm), which is thought to be set in Kern County, California, as well as a snippet of a second map called Eastwood, which is similarly set in California.

While EA has seemingly been nonplussed about the leaked content to date, this one was zinged with a copyright claim within hours. Before it was removed, however, players were treated to a pretty vast map that included a good range of environments and points of interest, including oil rigs, a village, a landing strip, and rocky clifftops. Overall, it's mostly gone down well with commenters on the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit who saw the video before it was pulled.

Battlefield 6 releases on October 10. We're having a great time with what we've played so far, writing in our Battlefield 6 review-in-progress: "Right now, even in beta form, Battlefield 6 might be the most fun shooter I’ve played this year."

Battlefield 6 won't have ray-tracing, though, and its developer has said there are no plans to add the feature down the line. Despite being a popular inclusion in some games, ray-tracing's more natural method of simulating lighting can also prove to be draining on your PC or console's system resources — and it's for this reason that the competitive shooter won't include it.

We've also got comments from a developer at DICE admitting Battlefield 6 anti-cheat measures like Secure Boot mean some PC gamers just won't be able to play the game.

The Adorable LEGO Gremlins: Gizmo Set Is Now Available to Preorder

LEGO's releases for October are already looking like a stellar lineup, from new Wednesday-themed sets to the highly-anticipated LEGO Game Boy. But there's another exciting build coming up that's ready to claim a spot on your shelves during spooky season: Gizmo from Gremlins joins LEGO's October 2025 drop (see here at LEGO), releasing on October 1 and priced at $109.99. If this ridiculously cute set has caught your eye, you can preorder it below. Just remember the rules before taking in the little mogwai...

Preorder the LEGO Gremlins: Gizmo Set

Coming in at 1,125 pieces, this LEGO set sees you piece together a posable Gizmo figure, complete with little 3D glasses that he can hold on to. He also comes with a water splash element that can be attached to his back (which thankfully won't cause Gizmo to multiply). When posing him, he can be positioned either sitting down or standing up, and his head, ears, arms, hands, fingers, and feet can all be moved around.

If you're a Gremlins fan, this set looks like a delightful build to set up in your home. But if you're looking for more sets to pick up in the meantime before this one releases, September has even more cool builds dropping soon. Coming on September 18 is a new Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory set, and a few days earlier on September 15 will see the LEGO Icons: Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship setting sail if you're a Pirates of the Caribbean fan. And if you're looking for a good deal on a set, it's worth having a look at our breakdown of Labor Day LEGO Deals to see if any are still available.

Disney Plus Plans: How Much Does a Subscription Cost?

We may take it for granted today, but imagine telling a younger version of yourself that one day there will be a magical app that will gather everything Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic in one place you can watch whenever and wherever you want for a relatively low monthly price.

That's what Disney+ is, in large part thanks to all of the companies Disney owns. However, there are so many streaming services out there and it can be tough to keep them all, no matter how much they claim to offer. If you are considering signing up for Disney+ for the first time or feel the time is right to jump back into the vault as Scrooge McDuck would dive into his money bin, this guide will provide you with everything you need to know about the current Disney+ subscription plans, bundles, and more.

Everything You Need to Know About Disney+

As of September 2025, Disney+ offers two main plans - Disney+ Basic and Disney+ Premium - and the main differences between the two are whether you get ads, if you are able to download content to watch on the go, and if you get Dolby Atmos.

Another big decision is whether you're interested in one of the many Disney+ streaming bundles. The newest streaming bundle includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited, but you can also bundle Disney+ and Hulu with HBO Max. We break down what's included in all of these options below, and hope it helps make the decision of joining or not an even easier one!

Does Disney+ Have a Free Trial?

Disney+ does not currently offer any sort of free trial for new subscribers. One potential work around for this is to sign up for a Hulu + Live TV free trial, which grants you access to Disney+ as a bonus bundle. This is also the best way to try out the new ESPN Unlimited service. Otherwise, there are quite a few other streaming services that do offer a free trial.

Disney+ Plans and Prices (As of September 2025)

All Disney+ plans increased in price on October 17, 2024. More recently, Disney+ announced its merger with Hulu starting in 2026, which has led to the Hulu and Disney+ bundle becoming the "de facto" subscription the streamer recommends you.

The following information has been updated to reflect these changes. Below is the most up-to-date information we've found from the Disney+ help page.

Disney+ Basic - $9.99/month

  • Steam Disney+ with ads
  • No downloads
  • Supports up to 5.1 audio
  • Up to 4K UHD video quality
  • Watch on four screens at once at no extra cost
  • Over 300 titles in 4K UHD and HDR

This is the cheapest Disney+ option and is excellent for those who don’t mind watching a few ads and don’t feel the need to have movies and shows ready for those times when no Wi-Fi or cellular service is available. If you travel a ton or have kids and want to load up some episodes of Bluey or Spidey and His Amazing Friends on a tablet for a vacation, you may want to consider an upgrade to the premium plan.

It’s also important to note that, while Disney+ Basic does offer over 300 titles in 4K UHD and HDR, it does not offer Dolby Atmos like Disney+ Premium does.

Disney+ Premium - $15.99/month or $159.99/year

  • Stream Disney+ with no ads
  • Unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices
  • Watch on four screens at once at no extra cost
  • Over 300 titles in 4K UHD and HDR
  • Dolby Atmos

There are only two tiers of Disney+ and this is the top one. With the increase in price, you get everything Disney+ Basic offers, but you also don’t have to sit through ads and can download as much as you want on up to 10 devices.

Another big benefit you get from upgrading to Disney+ Premium is the addition of Dolby Atmos, which is one of the leading surround sound technologies on the market. In addition to having sound enveloping your room, Dolby Atmos features spatial audio that allows creators to place sounds in specific places and fully immerse you in your favorite stories.

Disney+ Bundle Options

Disney+, Hulu Bundle Basic - $10.99/month

  • Disney+ with ads
  • Hulu with ads
  • No downloads
  • Watch on four screens at once at no extra cost
  • Over 300 titles in 4K UHD and HDR

This bundle is for those who want to watch everything Disney+ and Hulu have to offer, but don’t mind watching ads and don’t need to download content to their devices. With Hulu merging with Disney+ in 2026, this has essentially become the "standard" Disney+ plan.

Disney+, Hulu Bundle Premium - $19.99/month

  • Disney+ with no ads
  • Hulu with no ads
  • Unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices
  • Watch on four screens at once at no extra cost
  • Over 300 titles in 4K UHD and HDR
  • Dolby Atmos

This bundle is for those who want all the benefits of Disney+ Premium, including unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices, Dolby Atmos, and no ads, in addition to the full ad-free Hulu library.

Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select - $16.99/month

  • Disney+ with ads
  • Hulu with ads
  • ESPN Select with ads
  • No downloads

If ESPN Select is something you’d like to add to Hulu and Disney+, this bundle or the one below it are for you. For those unfamiliar, ESPN Select (previously known as ESPN+) allows you to stream live sports from across the world and enjoy a ton of on-demand content including the entire 30 for 30 library, select ESPN films, game replays, and more. You also unlock exclusive fantasy sports tools and premium articles on ESPN.

Both of these trio bundles get you the same content on ESPN, you just have to decide if you want ads on Disney+ and Hulu, if you want to download content, and if Dolby Atmos is worth it to you!

Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Premium - $26.99/month

  • Disney+ with no ads
  • Hulu with no ads
  • ESPN+ with ads
  • Unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices
  • Watch on four screens at once at no extra cost
  • Over 300 titles in 4K UHD and HDR
  • Dolby Atmos

Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Bundle - $35.99/month ($29.99 for new subscribers)

  • Disney+ with ads
  • Hulu with ads
  • Access to all of ESPN's networks and services, including ESPN+
  • No downloads

The latest addition to Disney's ever-growing list of bundle options is ESPN Unlimited, a new streaming option from ESPN that accompanied the rebrand of ESPN+. The biggest difference between these two (that leads to the particularly large price difference) is that ESPN Unlimited includes all of ESPN's linear networks, which host streams of the NFL, NBA, and more. As such, the pricing here is more in line with what we'd expect from a live TV streaming service.

Fortunately, Disney+ has announced a special offer that discounts the price of both the ad-supported and ad-free options for the bundle until January.

Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Premium Bundle -

  • Disney+ with no ads
  • Hulu with no ads
  • Access to all of ESPN's networks and services, including ESPN+
  • Downloads

Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max Bundle (With Ads) - $16.99/month

  • Disney+ with ads, including Disney+ Basic features
  • Hulu with ads
  • Max with ads

Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max Bundle (No Ads) - $29.99/month

  • Disney+ with no ads, including Disney+ Premium features
  • Hulu with no ads
  • Max with no ads

Legacy Disney Bundle - $21.99/month

  • Disney+ with no ads
  • Hulu with ads
  • ESPN+ with ads
  • No downloads
  • This plan is no longer available for purchase but existing subscribers can keep it as long as they don’t cancel or change it

This plan is a legacy one that is only available to those who are already subscribed to it, meaning no new account can take advantage of it. If you are a member of this bundle, just know you can keep it as long as you want if you don’t cancel or change it!

What's New on Disney+?

The September 2025 lineup for Disney+ has a little bit of everything. The service will be getting the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie as well as several programs from Disney Jr. On the MCU side, we get the new spin-off series, Marvel Zombies, while in a galaxy far far away we'll see a continuation of last year's LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy called "Pieces of the Past." From Nat Geo, we'll get Top Guns: The Next Generation, which follows several grueling months of Advanced Flight Training. The streamer will also get the most recent season of The Simpsons while simulcasting the new season of Dancing With the Stars.

Netflix Reveals First Look at Lady Gaga in Wednesday Ahead of Season 2 Part 2

It nearly knocked Wednesday fans’ socks off to find out that none other than Lady Gaga would make a guest appearance on Season 2 of the beloved Netflix show. Now, we’re getting a glimpse of her character before the second part of Season 2 premieres tomorrow.

The series took to social media on September 1 to reveal an image of Gaga in costume, donning a white dress and even featuring Thing, or another disembodied hand similar to Thing, chilling out on her shoulder.

“A vision in venom. Here’s your first look at Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood,” the show’s official X / Twitter account said, below, giving fans Gaga’s character name as well as her expected look.

A vision in venom. Here’s your first look at Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood. pic.twitter.com/araTJX8tnI

— Wednesday Addams (@wednesdayaddams) September 1, 2025

That said, we don’t know much about Miss Rotwood, other than the rumor that she is a teacher at Nevermore Academy. Considering she wasn’t seen in the first season or the first half of the second season, it’s possible that maybe she’s new to the school or even that she is returning to the school after a long-standing absence. Both of those ideas could be plausible given the story, but either way, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of backstory they give Gaga’s character and to discover how she’ll play into the show’s narrative.

Plus, Gaga is not only appearing on the show, she’s also recording an original song for the series titled “The Dead Dance.” The song is set to be featured in the show sometime in the second half of Season 2 — and fans will even get a music video for the track directed by Tim Burton himself.

It’s clear the folks behind the series want to try to replicate the success of the Wednesday dance trend that blew up online during the first season of the show, and honestly, if you’re going to attempt to strike gold twice, working with Lady Gaga is a great way to maximize the potential for success.

Last week, IGN reported on how Season 2 of Wednesday isn't seeing the level of success that Season 1 had. Some fans think that the TikTok dance trend that went viral during Season 1 was a major boon to viewership, and since Season 2 doesn’t have its own, it didn’t have that external force to boost numbers.

Others think the decision to release the show — which some of them deem to be a “Halloween show” — in the summer rather than in the fall is a misstep for views. And some think that splitting the eight episode season into two parts is where the show went wrong, even though there is barely a month between both parts airing as the first half premiered on August 6 and the second comes on September 3.

The first half of Wednesday Season 2 is available to stream now on Netflix alongside the complete first season. The second half of Season 2 will be available on September 3.

Xbox Game Pass September 2025 Wave 1 Lineup Confirmed — Hollow Knight: Silksong Dominates

Microsoft has confirmed the Xbox Game Pass September 2025 Wave 1 lineup of titles, which is headlined by Team Cherry’s hotly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong.

But first, available today, September 2, is I Am Your Beast (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), via Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Here’s the official blurb from Microsoft’s announcement post on Xbox Wire:

"I Am Your Beast is a shortform covert revenge thriller FPS about getting hunted across the North American wilderness by the military-industrial complex — and turning the tables. Break your opponents. Use their own equipment against them. Duck into your tunnel network before enemy forces zero in on your location. Repeat."

Tomorrow, September 3, sees Nine Sols (Xbox Series X|S) via Game Pass Standard. “Nine Sols is a lore-rich, hand-drawn 2D action-platformer with Sekiro-inspired, deflection-based combat. Embark on a journey through an Asia-inspired fantasy world, explore a land once ruled by an ancient alien race, and follow a vengeful hero on a quest to slay the 9 Sols — the powerful rulers of this forsaken realm,” Microsoft said.

And here’s the big one: on September 4 — finally! — Hollow Knight: Silksong (Cloud, Console, and PC) hits Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. “Available on day one with Game Pass: Ascend to the peak of a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! The sequel to the award-winning action-adventure, Hollow Knight. Explore, fight and survive as Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, as she discovers a land ruled by silk and song.”

If you're playing (or replaying) Hollow Knight before Silksong, take a look at IGN's newly refreshed Hollow Knight walkthrough and detailed Hollow Knight interactive map to make sure you don't miss any collectible locations.

Spare a thought for Cataclismo (PC) , which also hits Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on September 4. “Design and build fortresses brick by brick to stand against endless hordes of Horrors in this real-time strategy game with resource management, siege defense, and exploration. Lead from the ramparts, push back the darkness, and hold fast against the creatures of the Mist.”

Moving on, September 10 will see PAW Patrol World (Cloud, Console, and PC) launch across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. “Returning to the Game Pass library, explore the world of the PAW Patrol cartoon like never before, in a 3D action adventure where anything is PAWsible. Play as your favorite pups, drive their vehicles, and save the day by taking on fun rescues and missions either in single-player or with your family in couch co-op. It’s the ultimate PAW Patrol playtime!”

And finally for Wave 1, on September 16 RoadCraft (Cloud and Xbox Series X|S) releases on Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard. “In the wake of natural disasters, RoadCraft calls on you to rebuild what’s broken. Operate a fleet of over 40 authentic construction vehicles to clear debris, repair roads and bridges, and restore essential infrastructure. Tackle realistic challenges solo or in cooperative play across expansive, physics-driven environments shaped by destruction and recovery.”

It’s worth noting that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle DLC The Order of Giants launches on September 4. Game Pass members can save 10% on the Digital Premium Upgrade to get access on day one or purchase the DLC separately on September 4. (Check out IGN's Indiana Jones and the Great Circle The Order of Giants interview from gamescom 2025 to find out what to expect.)

And there’s an EA Play Early Access Trial for EA Sports NHL 26 on September 5. “Tell the world to Check My Game with the EA Play early access trial on Xbox Series X|S. Game Pass Ultimate members can take to the ice for up to 10 hours in EA Sports NHL 26. If you decide to buy, your progress carries over to the full game, so you can get ready for the next match.”

Space Marine 2 Developer Says a Large Chunk of Fans Have 'Assumptions' About the Warhammer 40,000 Universe That 'Are Not Correct' as a Result of the Huge Success of the Game

Space Marine 2 offers just a slice of the Warhammer 40,000 setting, presenting the Ultramarines chapter of Space Marines against two enemy factions: the Tyranids and the Thousand Sons traitor legion. This, its developer has said, has led to some “assumptions” about the Warhammer 40,000 universe that are untrue — assumptions that have become widespread as a result of the game’s huge success.

Speaking to IGN at gamescom 2025, Tim Willits, development chief at Saber Interactive, said Space Marine 2’s popularity had opened the door to the grimdark Warhammer 40,000 setting for an army of new fans who aren’t necessarily clued up about the intricacies of the universe.

“I heard that lots of people now think that Thousand Sons are the only Chaos faction because that's what we had in the game,” Willits said, reflecting on Space Marine 2’s first year.

“And so people are like, ‘Oh, I guess Thousand Sons, they're Chaos.’ It's like, ‘Actually no it's not.’ They're actually just a small faction. But people are just like, ‘That's the one I played against.’”

Indeed, there is a long list of Chaos factions within the setting. If there’s an antagonist of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, it’s probably Abaddon the Despoiler’s Black Legion, who do not feature in Space Marine 2. Other traitor legions include the Death Guard, the Emperor's Children, Iron Warriors, Night Lords, World Eaters, Word Bearers, and the Alpha Legion. But then there are Chaos-aligned renegade Space Marine chapters, warbands, and smaller groups to contend with. Yes, it's a lot!

This assumption about Chaos extends to the Space Marines themselves. The Ultramaines — considered the poster boys of the Warhammer 40,000 setting and the chapter used by Games Workshop itself when introducing newcomers to the tabletop via starter sets — are the protagonists of the Space Marine 2 campaign, although many other factions are available to play as in the PvE and PvP modes.

“People have assumptions about the Warhammer 40,000 universe that are not correct,” Willits continued. “Like Thousand Sons being the only Chaos faction. That is kind of humorous. And like, ‘Oh Space Marines are only blue!’ That has been quite humorous to be honest, which is good for us.”

Indeed it is good for Saber Interactive, which has seen the star of Space Marine 2, Lieutenant Titus, not only become an official part of the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game via his own model and datasheet, but immortalized via a star turn in the superb Warhammer 40,000 episode of Amazon’s Secret Level animated anthology.

Games Workshop has benefited greatly from Space Marine 2’s success as well, and not just in terms of licensing revenue. Anecdotally, staff at the company’s stores report a flood of newcomers who cite Space Marine 2 as their entry point. Clearly hoping to capitalize on the interest, Games Workshop recently announced the first ever officially licensed wearable Space Marine helmet — styled after Lieutenant Titus from Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 of course.

One of the big questions going into the already confirmed Space Marine 3 is whether Saber will venture beyond the Ultramarines and the Thousand Sons in terms of the next campaign. The story seems to set up the addition of the Necrons, which at this point probably wouldn't come as much of a surprise for Space Marine 3. But could other Space Marine chapters also appear? Perhaps other Chaos factions, too? We asked Willits about Space Marine 3, but he remained tight-lipped.

Check out more from IGN's gamescom interview with Tim Willits to find out why delaying Space Marine 2 was the best thing Saber ever did.

Ubisoft Says It's Working on the 'Future' of Rayman, but 'Don't Expect News From Us Too Soon'

Ubisoft is set to celebrate all things Rayman as it gets ready to mark the series' 30th anniversary, promising it's working on the "future" of the series.

The official Rayman X/Twitter account has long been dormant, only resurfacing a handful of times in 2020, then once in 2021, and not at all since then. Yesterday (September 1), however, it was resurrected to bring us up to speed on what's happening in Rayman's world.

"Rayman turns 30! Join us on our official channels to celebrate an incredible legacy," the account exclaimed, attaching a brief video. In the video, brand producer Loic Gounon — who has been working on the Rayman franchise since 2006 — revealed that "a very talented team at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are currently working together on the future of Rayman."

👊 🎉Rayman turns 30! Join us on our official channels to celebrate an incredible legacy 🎂🥳

Let's kick it off with a special message from Ubisoft Montpellier that was broadcast as part of the fan event Rayman Alive, just minutes ago. pic.twitter.com/BQ6qavIrVr

— Rayman (@RaymanGame) September 1, 2025

Gounon explained that Rayman was born at Ubisoft Montpellier back in 1995, and for the past 30 years, with studios Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Milan, and Ubisoft Annecy also all contributing to his "many adventures." And now, to mark 30 years, Ubisoft is "taking a moment to celebrate this incredible history by looking back," sharing behind the scenes, anecdotes, developer interviews, concept art, and more.

As for what's to come? We haven't had a mainline Rayman game since 2013's Rayman Legends. "A very talented team at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are currently working together on the future of Rayman," Ubisoft said. "Don't expect news from us too soon, but rest assured, Rayman is in good hands."

Ubisoft quietly released an NFT game featuring Rayman at the end of last year, of course. Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. was barely advertised or given the kind of showy spotlight reserved for major releases, quite possibly because it was a Web 3 game that uses cryptocurrency and blockchain. A top-down multiplayer shooter available on PC, it featured a number of Ubisoft characters, including Rayman.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Global Release Times Confirmed

Hold on, Hollow Knight fans — we're almost there. Hollow Knight: Silksong is slated to release this coming Thursday, September 4 on PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series for $19.99 / €19.99 / ¥2300.

The highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning metroidvania sees us play as Hornet as we journey to all-new lands, discover new powers, battle vast hordes of bugs and beasts, and uncover ancient secrets tied to your nature and your past.

Team Cherry finally revealed Hollow Knight: Silksong's September 4, 2025, release date at gamescom. We learned the news via a nearly two-minute trailer dropped by Team Cherry, which showed a ton of new footage from the game. We see Hornet exploring, loads of new insectoid NPCs, dreary graveyards, swamps, a bustling city, new enemies, new bosses, an Ori-style escape sequence, and more.
