Halo: Campaign Evolved is a UE5 remake coming to Xbox, PC and PS5

For months, there have been rumours of a new remake for Halo: Combat Evolved, the original game that kicked the franchise off. This would be the second remastering of the original game, following Halo Anniversary for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. This new re-release also brings about another huge change – Halo will be available on PlayStation for the first time.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a complete remake of the original Combat Evolved campaign using Unreal Engine 5. Halo Studios has long been gearing up for a shift towards Unreal Engine for future games, and Campaign Evolved will be the start of that.

Halo: Campaign Evolved will also offer 4K visuals, updated animations, remastered music and re-recorded voice acting. Halo Studios is also bringing a selection of weapons and vehicles from later entries into the first game and adding three bonus missions for the campaign as well.

For a more comprehensive look at this remake, Microsoft has shared a playthrough of one of the campaign's most famous missions, The Silent Cartographer:

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Halo's famous online multiplayer will be making its way over in this release. However, the game will support co-op campaign, either with two players locally in split-screen on console, or with up to four players online across Xbox, PC and PS5. Halo: Campaign Evolved will release in 2026.

KitGuru Says: Without multiplayer, this remake has limited appeal. On Xbox and PC, we already have the Master Chief Collection, allowing us to play this campaign (and many others) in its original form, or with the Anniversary graphics, and there is full access to multiplayer. For PlayStation gamers though, this is an opportunity for many to play Halo for the very first time.

Acer unveils the Nitro XV325QK V3 4K Mini LED display with dual-mode

Acer has introduced a new high-end gaming monitor, the Nitro XV325QK V3bmiipprx, offering a combination of stunning visuals and high-speed performance. This 31.5-inch display features a 4K Mini LED panel with HDR capabilities and Acer's DFR technology, allowing it to switch between high-resolution and high-refresh-rate modes.

As reported by DisplaySpecifications, the monitor uses a 31.5-inch IPS panel with a Mini LED backlight and 1152 local dimming zones. This allows for a pretty good HDR performance, hitting a peak brightness of 1000 nits and earning it a VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. Colour reproduction is also a strong point, with the 10-bit panel covering 99% of both the Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 colour spaces.

The key feature for gamers is Acer's DFR (Dynamic Frame Rate) technology. This allows the monitor to operate in two distinct modes: 4K at 160 Hz or 1080p at 320 Hz. This is paired with a rapid 1 ms GtG response time (0.5 ms MPRT) and AMD FreeSync Premium support for smooth, tear-free gaming.

Connectivity is handled by two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, and a headphone jack. The monitor sits on a fully ergonomic stand offering height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments. The monitor is already on sale at Amazon.com for $609.

KitGuru says: With the immensity of new dual-mode monitors being introduced to the market, it looks like this will become the standard, at least for 4K gaming monitors.

Hades 2 Patch 1 Preview changes the game’s ending, but only slightly

Hot on the heels of the successful 1.0 launch of Hades II, developer Supergiant Games has already rolled out the first preview patch on Steam. The focus of this patch seems to be refining the game's “true ending” experience based on early player feedback, but it also includes bug fixes and balance adjustments.

While the core game received widespread acclaim, some players felt the ultimate conclusion didn't quite hit the mark. Supergiant appears to agree, using this first post-launch update to add more narrative weight to Melinoë's final objective. The patch notes detail the addition of more events featuring key characters both before and after the final encounter, along with revisions to parts of the closing sequence itself before the credits roll.

However, there's one change that might raise a few eyebrows: the number of successful runs required actually to see the true ending has been increased (not specified). While this gives players more opportunities to experience the new events leading up to the ending, it risks feeling like unnecessary padding in a game that already demands a significant time investment to reach its conclusion.

On a more positive note, the update introduces a new cauldron incantation that allows players to replay past story scenes. This is a brilliant addition, meaning players won't need to start a new save file to see the updated ending sequences. Other welcome changes include speeding up the progression of several character-related prophecies and reducing the Spirit Point cost for decorations in the Crossroads.

Beyond the narrative tweaks, the patch includes the usual assortment of bug fixes and balance adjustments. Note that this patch is a preview and might change between its current state and what actually gets to the release branch. For detailed patch notes and instructions on how to install the preview, check Supergiant Games' post on Steam.

Solasta II early access has been pushed to Q1 2026

Tactical Adventures, the studio behind the well-regarded D&D-inspired RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister, has revealed the early access release window for its sequel has been delayed. Announced during the Galaxies Gaming Showcase, Solasta II is now set to hit Steam Early Access in early 2026, a slight delay from the initial 2025 window.

This sequel marks a significant technical leap for the series, moving away from the Unity engine used in the original to the much more graphically advanced Unreal Engine 5. The visual upgrade is immediately apparent, though this engine switch might come at the cost of the extensive moddability that the first game enjoyed. For those eager to see the new engine in action, a two-hour demo is already available to try on Steam.

Solasta II continues to be based on the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 ruleset, promising authentic turn-based tactical combat. The story sees players venturing to the distant continent of Neokos to confront a mysterious new threat, Shadwyn, voiced by Amelia Tyler, the narrator of Baldur's Gate 3.

Beyond the tactical battles, this sequel introduces a new way to explore its world. Tactical Adventures has confirmed that Solasta II will feature a freely explorable overworld map, allowing players to discover the continent of Neokos at their own pace. More details on this new system will be shared during a special Community Stream scheduled for Tuesday, October 28th, where the developers will showcase the map and answer fan questions.

KitGuru says: While the brief delay might be disappointing for some, the move to Unreal Engine 5 and the promise of a more open world make Solasta II an exciting prospect for fans of tactical RPGs.

Razer reveals ‘esports green’ collection

Razer has unveiled the Esports Green Collection, bringing its iconic, unmistakable green colourway to a wide range of its most popular competitive gaming peripherals. This launch celebrates the brand's long-standing connection with the esports scene, offering pro-grade hardware in the colour that started it all.

Achieving the specific 802C green (Pantone code) consistently across the various metals, plastics, and fabrics used in peripherals was reportedly a significant design challenge. Still, Razer has clearly committed to getting its brand identity spot-on for this collection.

The lineup includes many of Razer's current top performers, many of which have already been widely adopted by esports professionals in games like Valorant, CS2, and Call of Duty:

  • Viper V3 Pro: Razer's lightweight (54g) wireless mouse, favoured by pros like Faker, featuring the Focus Pro 35K Gen-2 sensor and 8000 Hz HyperPolling.
  • DeathAdder V4 Pro: The go-to ergonomic mouse for many CS2 pros, designed with input from NiKo for optimal comfort and tracking.
  • Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8kHz: A TKL keyboard with analogue optical switches offering adjustable actuation down to 0.1 mm and an 8000 Hz polling rate.
  • BlackShark V3 Pro (PC & Xbox Editions): The latest version of Razer's esports headset, featuring Hybrid ANC and low-latency wireless audio.
  • Wolverine V3 Pro (PC/Xbox) & Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC: High-performance controllers featuring mouse switches and Hall Effect thumbsticks, with the 8K PC version boasting an 8000 Hz polling rate.
  • Raiju V3 Pro (PlayStation 5): Razer's PlayStation controller offering with Tension Magnetic Resistance (TMR) thumbsticks and hair-trigger modes.
  • Kitsune: The leverless optical arcade controller with optical switches favoured by fighting game competitors.

All of these items are now available for sale, except for the Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8kHz. Starting with the mice, the Viper V3 Pro Esports Green costs £169.99/$169.99/€189.88 while the DeathAdder V4 Pro Esports Green costs £179.99/$179.99/€189.99. As for the BlackShark V3 Pro Esports Green, it's priced at £259.99/$259.99/€279.99. Lastly, we have the controllers, with the cheapest one being the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC Esports Green at £189.99/$209.99/€209.99, followed by the Raiju V3 Pro Esports Green at £209.99/€219.99, and then the non-8K version of the Wolverine at £209.99/$209.99/€229.99. Lastly, the Kitsune Esports Green is available for £309.99/$309.99/€359.99.

Thermaltake rolls out new Toughpower PT PSUs

Thermaltake is aiming to make high-efficiency power supplies more accessible with the launch of its new Toughpower PT Platinum Series. Available in 850W, 1000W, and 1200W capacities, these new units boast 80 Plus Platinum certification and full compliance with the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, all while hitting some surprisingly aggressive price points.

The PT Platinum series uses 100% Japanese 105°C capacitors and an LLC + DC-to-DC topology for stable power delivery. Each unit features a fully modular design with flat, low-profile cables for easier routing. Thermaltake is also highlighting its “Zero Cable Platform”, which uses a direct PCB connection for the modular panel to reduce internal wiring. Cooling is handled by a quiet 135 mm hydraulic bearing fan with a zero-RPM mode for silent operation under low loads.

Important for modern builds, the PSUs are fully ATX 3.1-compliant, meaning they are built to handle the high-power excursions of the latest GPUs. Moreover, they come equipped with a native PCIe 5.1 12V-2×6 connector capable of delivering up to 600W over a single cable, enough to handle an RTX 5090 with ease.

Thermaltake appears to be pricing these units very competitively. The 850W model launches at just $129.99, the 1000W at $159.99, and the 1200W at $179.99. These MSRPs put the PT Platinum series firmly in territory usually occupied by 80 Plus Gold units, making them a potentially high-value option for builders seeking top-tier efficiency. The entire series is backed by a 10-year warranty.

KitGuru says: Considering its aggressive price point, would you consider one of these new Thermaltake PT PSUs for a PC build?

Fallout 76 ‘Burning Springs’ update arrives in December, Xbox Series and PS5 upgrade coming 2026

Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 76 will be receiving a full next-gen upgrade for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, with the release window set for early 2026. The announcement was made during the special Fallout Day Broadcast last night, which celebrated the franchise’s enduring legacy and teased what’s next for the online wasteland.

The studio has assured fans that the update will be a native version designed specifically for current-gen consoles. It is unclear exactly what will be improved though, as Fallout 76 already targets up to 4K resolution on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The game also already runs at 60FPS on both platforms. Perhaps Bethesda will go a step further and offer a 120FPS mode to really help this update stand out.

The news arrives alongside the reveal of Burning Springs, a free expansion launching in December. This update will introduce a new Ohio-based region, a bounty system led by The Ghoul (voiced by Walton Goggins from the Fallout TV series), and a host of new quests, enemies, and public events.

In other Fallout-related news this week, Bethesda also announced plans for Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, which will ship across PC, Xbox and PS5 consoles. A Switch 2 version is also in development, marking the very first time that a mainline Fallout game has been made available on a Nintendo console.

KitGuru Says: We don't often talk about the massive comeback Fallout 76 has had in recent years but it is certainly up there with the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky.

Battlefield 6 to get Battle Royale mode next week

We've known for quite some time that Battlefield 6 will be getting its own Battle Royale mode, but the timing of it has been the subject of debate. We can finally put the questions to rest, as recent datamining efforts point to a launch in just a few days time.

ModernWarzone, an account typically known for Call of Duty leaks, has shared information from the dataminer, OneBattlefield, who discovered that a game mode, codenamed ‘Granite' will drop on October 28th. Tom Henderson, another well-known leaker, went on to confirm that Granite is the codename for Battlefield 6's Battle Royale mode, indicating plans to shadow drop the new mode in just a few days' time.

It is unclear exactly what changes will be made for Battlefield's return to the Battle Royale genre. The last time Battle Royale made an appearance in Battlefield was the Firestorm mode in Battlefield V, and that was all the way back in 2019. Battlefield Studios has previously teased that this new Battle Royale mode will have a ‘deadly ring', removing the ability for players to jump in and out of the safe zone while remaining alive.

Next week will also see the launch of Battlefield 6's first seasonal content drop, which we previewed earlier this week.

Epomaker turns its focus to the gaming mouse with new CarbonX and Click Lite

Epomaker, a brand primarily known for its keyboards, is branching out into the world of gaming mice in response to community requests. The company has today launched two new models: the high-end, ultra-light Epomaker CarbonX featuring a carbon fibre shell, and the budget-friendly Epomaker Click Lite.

The CarbonX is obviously the enthusiast offering here. With its carbon fiber casing, the mouse achieves an impressively low weight of just 50g while maintaining structural rigidity. The hollow design not only saves weight but also contributes to its unique aesthetic, with Epomaker noting that a dustproof layer protects the internal PCB. Under the hood, the CarbonX is packed with top-tier specs, featuring the PixArt PAW3950 optical sensor and an 8 kHz polling rate for low-latency input. Lastly, the two main buttons use Omron optical switches.

For gamers on a tighter budget, Epomaker is also launching the Click Lite, featuring a more traditional, understated design. Available in black or white, this mouse features a PAW3311 sensor capable of up to 12,000 DPI and a standard polling rate of 1000 Hz. The Click Lite has five programmable buttons and is powered by a 500 mAh battery for extended wireless use.

Both new mice are available now via Epomaker's official website, Amazon, and AliExpress. The high-performance CarbonX is priced at $79.99/€72.95, while the budget-friendly Click Lite costs just $29.99/€27.95.

Noctua is celebrating its 20th anniversary since it launched its very first products. To mark two decades of keeping our CPUs frosty, the company has unveiled a brand-new anniversary desk mat, the NP-DM3, and has completely revamped its official website.

To honour this history, Noctua is releasing the NP-DM3 desk mat. This premium 90×40 cm mat features a unique timeline motif that charts the company's journey, showcasing iconic products from the original NH-U heatsinks right up to the latest G2 models, including fan favourites like the NF-P12 and the legendary NH-D14. Made with a smooth, low-friction top surface, stitched edges, and a rubberised anti-slip base, it's a high-quality accessory that complements any Noctua-cooled build. The Fallout TV series garnered universal acclaim for its tone, sets and story. Season Two is now right around the corner, with a December 17th Premier date set.

Following the initial announcement at Gamescom earlier this year, Amazon has now confirmed that Fallout Season 2 will begin on December 17th. A series of new character posters have also been released, showing Lucy surrounded by a group of raiders, Maximus surrounded by members of the Brotherhood of Steel, Ghoul surrounded by … other ghouls and of course, CX404, otherwise known as Dogmeat, surrounded by Radscorpions.

Fallout Season 2 will take fans away from the California setting of the original and over to New Vegas, a fan-favourite location from the video games. The season will explore the connection between Mr. House and Vault-Tec, the shadowy corporation known for running a series of questionable experiments on those residing in the nuclear vaults.

MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 Review (500Hz QD-OLED)

Today we are checking out the fastest OLED monitor to pass through the KitGuru labs, in the form of the MSI 272QP QD-OLED X50. Utilising a souped-up 3rd Gen QD-OLED panel from Samsung with a 1440p resolution, not only does it push the refresh-rate to an eye-watering 500Hz, but it also promises enhanced brightness for both SDR and HDR usage. Is this the ultimate OLED monitor? Let's find out…

Despite launching in 2025, the MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 isn't technically using the latest 4th Gen (2025) QD-OLED panel from Samsung. As pointed out by TFTCentral, it's technically a 3rd Gen (2024) panel but with some enhancements to provide higher refresh-rate and increased brightness, given it lacks the EL 3.0 panel that is new for the 4th Gen/2025 models.

Still, faster and brighter sounds good to me, and with a MSRP of £799, but currently on sale at £699, it's perhaps not as expensive as you might have guessed for an OLED monitor with these specs. Let's dive in and see what it's all about.

Vertu returns with Agent Q: an AI-driven phone built for entrepreneurs

Vertu has launched a new smartphone called Agent Q, unveiled at Harrods in London. On the surface it looks like a continuation of the brand’s long history of luxury handsets, but this time the focus is less on precious materials and more on embedded artificial intelligence. Vertu calls it the world’s first “AI Agent Phone”, built not around apps, but around intent. First time around, Vertu pushed posh phones based solely on looks and gold plating but, this time, they have a vision. How successful can a low-volume, specialist smartphone maker be with smartphones that start with a £5,000 price tag?

For most of the smartphone era, users have interacted with icons and apps – separate silos for messaging, notes, maps, and scheduling. Vertu’s new system aims to end that pattern. At the heart of the Agent Q is the Vertu Agent Operating System (VAOS), built on what the company calls the Falcon Cognitive Architecture. Instead of opening and switching between apps – users issue instructions in natural language.

Vertu claims that VAOS processes each request using four internal “cognitive engines”: perception, memory, planning and execution. The idea is that the phone understands a user’s intent, breaks it into steps, and delivers an outcome by coordinating multiple specialist “agents”. A typical example might be, “Prepare a summary of the meeting I was just in, then email it to me – and also book a table for two at Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester at 8pm.”

Some tasks are handled entirely on the device, while others trigger remote automation or involve human support. Vertu calls this hybrid network AIGS — the AI-Generated Service. It combines digital agents with Vertu’s long-standing concierge infrastructure, so that if the AI cannot secure a dinner booking automatically, a human assistant completes the task. From the phone user's point of view – the interaction is the same. They get a result, without having to think about it.

Design aimed at a specific audience

The company makes no secret of the fact that this phone is aimed at entrepreneurs and executives, particularly in the Middle East, where status and service remain strong motivators. Vertu describes the Agent Q as inspired by the white falcon — a symbol of “authority, rarity and sovereign power”. The materials look to reinforce that theme, with a titanium frame, 18-carat gold inlays and white alligator leather. In total the phone is assembled from 320 individual components. We're guessing that your local repair shop is unlikely to be able to swap the screen/battery.

It is a style very different from the minimalist glass rectangles that dominate Western markets, but consistent with Vertu’s heritage. The brand once hand-assembled gem-studded phones in Hampshire before financial collapse and several ownership changes. Under the current management, the production model appears more pragmatic: design and concept at headquarters, main assembly in a modern factory, and final finishing by hand.

First time around, you get the feeling that Vertu's founders just ‘wanted to make a posh phone' – which severely limits the market opportunity. Starting with integrated AI, lots of security and services – the company has a better chance of establishing itself this time.

That said, it might be easier to turn a profit if they sell out on the Agent Q Himalaya Gold and Full Diamon Collector's Edition – which will run you £86,400.

Executive-grade automation

Vertu has mapped its “agent” ecosystem around five pillars of executive work — corporate governance, meetings and follow-up, finance and investment, daily coordination, and marketing and growth. Across these categories, more than 200 specialised agents handle defined workflows.

For example, the Meeting Agent structures agendas, records discussion points, and assigns follow-up actions automatically. The Finance Agent can monitor budgets and cash flow, while the Travel Agent generates itineraries, arranges transport and handles changes in real time. It is effectively a distributed personal assistant that learns from previous behaviour and adapts over time.

The system runs locally wherever possible, a concept Vertu calls Edge Autonomy. Instead of relying entirely on cloud processing, the phone’s dedicated AI chipset performs perception, reasoning and execution directly on the device. According to Vertu, this allows near-instant responses and protects user data from external collection – a core selling point for business users concerned about confidentiality.

Security and privacy
Vertu has integrated several hardware-level defences, marketed as Vertu Secure Certainty. The architecture divides the phone into three isolated systems – Main, Secret and Ghost – each with its own encrypted environment. Communication is end-to-end encrypted, and the device includes a distributed vault with up to 10TB of supposedly tamper-proof storage.

One of the more unusual features is a remote “kill” command that permanently bricks the handset and renders all stored data irretrievable. Vertu positions this as a privacy safeguard for journalists, executives, or anyone at risk of having their phone seized.

Hardware overview

The Agent Q is built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Supreme 3nm processor and ships with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The 6.02-inch AMOLED display runs at 120Hz with Full HD+ resolution. Power comes from a 5,565 mAh battery with 65W fast charging, and the phone supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and dual-SIM 5G.

Vertu has also included satellite calling capability for communication in remote areas. Audio is delivered through dual stereo speakers with DTS Ultra processing.

The camera system features three lenses: a 50 MP main sensor with optical stabilisation and variable aperture, a 50 MP ultra-wide, and a 64 MP telephoto. Vertu says it is the only smartphone with a true mechanical zoom lens, though image samples were not demonstrated at the launch. The camera software includes AI-driven retouching and the ability to convert still photos into short cinematic clips.

Luxury meets intelligence?

Vertu has historically been associated with craftsmanship and exclusivity rather than cutting-edge technology. Many in the industry will remember the diamond-studded feature phones that cost more than laptops yet offered limited functionality. That model proved unsustainable.

The Agent Q suggests a more balanced approach — maintaining the high-end materials but adding genuine technical depth. If the AI system works as described, it could appeal to executives who value automation and privacy as much as design.

Still, the concept faces challenges. Apple, Google and Samsung are all integrating AI deeper into their ecosystems, and Vertu’s advantage may lie in its willingness to combine software intelligence with a human concierge. Whether this hybrid “AI plus assistant” model scales beyond the luxury niche remains to be seen.

Availability

The Agent Q range – including the White Falcon Edition, Classic Black and Signature Gold – is available now through Harrods, Vertu boutiques and the company’s website. UK pricing starts around the £5,000 mark with the Himalayan gold and diamond encrusted versions closer to £86,000. No mention was made of any ‘on-going service/subscription costs', but they are likely given the cost of providing a ‘people-based concierge system'.

Vertu’s CMO, Molly Ma, summarised the launch by saying: “Technology should not demand more apps; it should deliver more clarity. With Agent Q, we’re creating a phone that plans like a strategist and acts like a chief-of-staff.”

KitGuru says: For Vertu, the challenge will be to prove that intelligence and luxury can coexist – and that this time, its phones are designed not only to impress, but to deliver. Moving from an old-school browser to something like ChatGPT for information, has clear advantages. Can Vertu encourage enough users to make the move to Agent Q? Time will tell.

The Outer Worlds 2 launches to positive reviews

The Outer Worlds 2 is just about to unlock later today for Premium Edition buyers, giving them a full five days of early access. Alongside this, the review embargo for the game has lifted, giving us a look at how critics from around the world feel about Obsidian's latest RPG. So far, it sounds like we're in for another fun adventure across colonised space.

The Outer Worlds 2 has achieved an 84 overall score on Metacritic, based on over 40 reviews from various outlets. The Open Critic score is similar, with 90% of critics recommending the game based on more than 80 reviews, with an average score of 82 amongst them. For reference, the first game, The Outer Worlds, scored an 85 overall score on Metacritic and 83 on Open Critic.

Some of the highlights noted so far include improved shooting mechanics, witty writing and RPG mechanics that truly allow gamers to ‘play their way'. It may not be a huge jump from the original though, so if you didn't like the first game, then the sequel may not change your mind. If you did enjoy the first game though, then you should have a good time playing through this new entry.

The Outer Worlds 2 unlocks later today for Premium Edition buyers. The Premium Edition includes 5 days of early access to the game, alongside the DLC pass, which promises two future story expansions. The standard edition of the game unlocks on Wednesday, 29th of October.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A has already sold over 5.8 million copies

The sentiment surrounding Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been far from flawless, with many long-time fans of the franchise becoming increasingly frustrated with Game Freak consistently falling behind the rest of the industry quality-wise. Even so, each new entry continues to sell like hotcakes, with Legends: Z-A officially confirmed to have sold 5.8 million copies in its first week.

Making the announcement via a press release (translated by ResetEra user ‘jojoroy’), The Pokémon Company offered some early launch sales figures for their latest release, writing:

“Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A, released simultaneously worldwide on Thursday, October 16, 2025, for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, has sold 5.8 million copies globally in its first week,” adding that “approximately half of these sales were on Nintendo Switch 2.”

Legends Z-A

Putting this number into context, a recent data breach revealed that Legends: Z-A had a budget of just $13 million. Assuming this includes marketing costs, then Game Freak’s latest and greatest would have needed to sell just under 200,000 copies to make a profit. Of course, they have sold more than 25x this figure in the first week alone.

Despite fan sentiment surrounding the game being quite negative, it appears as though the Pokémon franchise is indeed too big to fail.

KitGuru says: Did you pick up Pokémon Legends: Z-A? What do you think of it? What’s the weakest entry in Game Freak’s Pokémon output? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows launches on Switch 2 this December

When it comes to supporting Nintendo hardware, Ubisoft is by far one of the most proactive 3rd party publishers, having released a bunch of games on the Switch, WiiU and even the Wii back in the day. The publisher has already brought some of its games over to the Switch 2 including the current-gen exclusive Star Wars Outlaws. Now, Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is next in line to receive the Switch 2 treatment.

Releasing a brief official announcement trailer, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on Switch 2 in just a couple months’ time – landing on Nintendo’s ‘latest and greatest’ platform on the 2nd of December.

As with the aforementioned Star Wars Outlaws, AC Shadows is current-gen console exclusive and so it will be interesting to see how the game performs on Nintendo’s portable system. Though this could merely be a matter of logistics, the trailer for the Switch 2 version was uploaded in just 1080p and 30fps – suggesting that the game could be somewhat visually compromised.

In other unfortunate though unsurprising news, the physical version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be presented on a Game-Key Card, meaning none of the game’s data will be on the cartridge itself.

That said, Switch 2 owners aren’t completely hard done by, with the upcoming port including cross-progression with all other systems alongside touchscreen support for all menus.

Last but not least, AC Shadows will retail on Switch 2 for slightly lower than during its initial launch, with Nintendo owners being able to pick the game up for ‘just’ $60.

3rd-party support on the Switch 2 so far has been hit-or-miss, with some titles showing off the current-gen handheld in a positive light – and others needing to be delayed in order to ensure stable performance. It will be interesting to see whether Switch 2 owners will pick up AC: Shadows when it arrives in a little over a month’s time.

KitGuru says: What do you think of 3rd party output on Switch 2 so far? Will there come a point when future titles are released day-and-date on the platform? Let us know down below.

Black Ops 7 Season 1 adds 6 multiplayer maps, 3 ‘Zombies’ experiences and more

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 was somewhat of a mixed bag, with the latest COD entry featuring excellent gameplay unfortunately hampered by less-than-stellar post-launch support. That said, with Black Ops 7 set to arrive in a few weeks’ time, the team at Treyarch have already started teasing their post-launch plans for the game – showcasing a rather substantial Season 1.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the team at Treyarch have started to tease their initial post-launch plans for Black Ops 7, writing: “The biggest year in Black Ops history starts with BO7 launch, and it's just the beginning. Season 01 will be our most massive season yet.”

Though yet to be fully detailed, Treyarch have shared the list of maps arriving post-launch, including:

  • Nuketown 2025 (20th of November)
  • 6 additional multiplayer maps (Season 1)
    • Fate
    • Utopia
    • Odysseus
    • Standoff
    • Meltdown
    • Yakei
  • 7 weapons (Season 1)
  • New large Zombies map ‘Astra Malorum’ (Season 1)
  • Two Zombies Survival maps (Season 1)
    • Exit 115
    • Zarya Cosmodrome

Black Ops 7 Season 1

Of course, expect Season 1 to bring with it far more than just these maps, with other additional content likely including new weapons; game modes; cosmetics; perks and more.

While Black Ops 6 was clearly impacted somewhat by the concurrent development of BO7, hopefully Treyarch can put all of their focus into the upcoming title’s post-launch support thanks to them now being freed from working on two projects at the same time.

KitGuru says: Do you have high hopes for Black Ops 7? What did you think of BO6’s post-launch support? Let us know down below.

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition announced for all systems (including Switch 2)

Just under 10 years ago, Fallout 4 officially released to the world. While the game is far from perfect, it resonated with millions thanks to its sandbox-like design and focus on exploration among other ancillary additions (such as the settlement mechanic and base building). As they have done with many of their previous games, Bethesda has now officially announced Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition – bundling the base game alongside its DLC and hundreds of user-created mods.

Making the announcement, the team at Bethesda Game Studios officially unveiled Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition. Set to arrive exactly 10 years on from its initial release (launching on the 11th of November), this complete edition of the game comes bundled with Fallout 4’s 6 DLC packs (Automaton; Far Harbour; Nuka-World; Wasteland, Contraptions and Vault-Tec workshops).

In addition, as we’ve seen with the likes of Skyrim Anniversary Edition, this latest Fallout 4 release also includes “over 150 creation club items” – essentially mods.

Unfortunately, it appears as though like with Skyrim, this Anniversary Edition is merely a bundle of previously-released content, and does not include any specific or unique enhancements. Of course, Fallout 4 did previously receive a current-gen patch, however many fundamentals were left out, including a field-of-view slider.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the announcement was confirmation that Fallout 4 is officially coming to the Switch 2. That said, those wanting to explore Boston’s Wasteland on Nintendo’s platform will have to wait a while, as it is not set to arrive until some time in 2026.

KitGuru says: Are you interested in this Anniversary Edition? Were you hoping for some grander changes/improvements? How do you expect the game to perform on Switch 2? Let us know down below.

Escape from Duckov crosses the 1 million sales mark in less than a week

In one of the biggest surprise hits of the year, the quirky single-player extraction shooter Escape from Duckov has absolutely exploded onto the PC scene, selling over one million copies in its first week on Steam. Developed by Team Soda and published by Bilibili, the game's blend of hardcore extraction mechanics and a charming duck protagonist has clearly struck a chord with players.

Launched just last week on October 16th, the top-down PvE title, which wears its Escape from Tarkov parody on its sleeve, hit 200,000 sales in its first 24 hours and crossed the half-million mark in just three days. This rapid success propelled it to the top of the Steam best-seller charts, trailing only established giants like Counter-Strike 2 and Dota and successful AAA releases such as Battlefield 6.

The concurrent player numbers have been equally impressive for an indie title. According to SteamDB, Escape from Duckov has consistently pulled in massive numbers, peaking at over 255,000 players online simultaneously.

While its premise might be light-hearted, the game itself offers a surprisingly deep PvE loop. Players take on missions, scavenge loot, upgrade their hideout, and battle other anthropomorphic bird enemies, all while managing survival mechanics. With over 50 hours of content promised for a single playthrough and a very accessible price point (currently around £15), it seems Escape from Duckov has found the perfect recipe for success in the crowded shooter market.

Samsung dips into budget OLED territory with new 180Hz Odyssey G50SF

Samsung is bringing its QD-OLED technology to a more budget-conscious segment with the quiet launch of the new Odyssey G50SF. This 27-inch monitor aims to offer the core benefits of OLED, but makes some significant cuts elsewhere to hit a lower price point.

The G50SF (via FlatplanelsHD) uses a 27-inch QD-OLED panel, featuring a QHD (2560×1440) resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 180Hz. As expected from OLED, the response time is near-instantaneous at 0.03ms (GtG), and the contrast ratio is rated at 1,000,000:1. Colour coverage is also strong, hitting 99% of the DCI-P3 gamut with 10-bit colour depth. The display supports both FreeSync and is G-Sync Compatible for tear-free gaming.

The typical brightness is a very low 200 cd/m², and HDR support is limited to just HDR10 (likely meaning no official VESA certification). The connectivity is also surprisingly dated for a 2025 monitor; it features only DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0. This means the full 180Hz refresh rate is only achievable via DisplayPort (with DSC or lower colour depth), as HDMI 2.0 will cap out at 144Hz. There's also no USB hub. Ergonomics are equally basic, with the included stand offering only tilt adjustment, though VESA mounting is supported.

Pricing in this region is still unknown, but in New Zealand, Taiwan, and Indonesia, it's priced at the equivalent of £430, £338, and £345, respectively.

KitGuru says: There are some notable cuts here compared to higher-end OLED displays, but the price point should help make up for that. Right now though, there is no word on whether or not this monitor will be made available in the UK.

Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus appears on Geekbench

The saga surrounding Intel's Arrow Lake Refresh continues to evolve, with a new benchmark leak adding another layer of confusion to the mix. A processor identifying itself as the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus has just surfaced in the Geekbench 6 database, and its core configuration is quite surprising.

According to the entry spotted by Benchleaks, this supposed Core Ultra 7 chip boasts 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores, for a total of 24 cores. This is identical to the core count of the current flagship Core Ultra 9 285K and more than the 20 cores (8P+12E) found in the existing Core Ultra 7 265K. Despite the increased core count, the listed clock speeds (3.7 GHz base, 5.5 GHz boost) match the current 265K, not the higher-clocked 285K.

The chip scored 3,215 points in single-core and 22,720 in multi-core, which puts it on par with the average Core Ultra 9 285K. The test system appears to be a pre-production Lenovo desktop, as it was paired with an RTX 5090D, the China-exclusive variant of Nvidia's top GPU.

This leak throws a wrench into the reports that the Arrow Lake Refresh would be limited to a clock speed bump for existing SKUs. A Core Ultra 7 with the exact core count as a Core Ultra 9 would be unexpected from Intel but suggests a more significant reshuffling of the product stack is planned. Other rumoured SKUs for this refresh, potentially launching in Q1 2026, include a Core Ultra 9 290K Plus and a Core Ultra 5 250K.

KitGuru says: As always, take leaks with a grain of salt. Official announcements will be made eventually.

Elden Ring Switch 2 release slips to 2026 amid performance concerns

The long‑awaited Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 has officially been delayed, with the announcement arriving today via the game’s official X account. Originally expected to launch this year, the title will now arrive in 2026, pushing back one of the most anticipated releases for the new console.

The developers explained that the delay is necessary to ensure the game performs to expectations on Nintendo’s latest hardware. In a statement released on the official Elden Ring X account, From Software said: “While development on ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition continues wholeheartedly toward release, we have decided to move the launch to 2026 to allow time for performance adjustments. We apologize to players looking forward to the game and thank you for your patience and support.”

This decision follows reports from Gamescom 2025, where attendees who tested the Switch 2 version of Elden Ring noted choppy frame rates and inconsistent performance. Those concerns appear to have been validated, as the studio now takes additional time to optimise the game. The delay also comes in the wake of Borderlands 4 being pushed back on Switch 2, with similar reports of technical issues surfacing during hands‑on sessions.

There is no new release date for the game yet, but we should get an update in early 2026. Nintendo typically holds a Direct showcase between late January and late February, so a revised release date could arrive around that time.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: Elden Ring was one of the major AAA game announcements at the Switch 2 reveal so this delay is bound to disappoint a number of fans. However, I'd rather have the game delayed to ensure smooth performance at launch than have to wrestle with bad performance and then wait months for patches.
