DOOM: The Dark Ages achieves studio’s biggest launch* with 3 million players

Launching just last week, DOOM: The Dark Ages is the latest title from id Software – the studio known for their work on the DOOM franchise as well as their performant idTech engine. Though not quite as universally praised as 2016’s reboot, the 3rd entry in this new trilogy has proven to be a hit; surpassing 3 million players to become the fastest-performing game in the studio’s history – albeit with some caveats.

Making the announcement on BlueSky, the official Bethesda Softworks page wrote the following: “Thank you for making DOOM: The Dark Ages the biggest launch in id's history – 7x faster to 3 million players than DOOM Eternal.”

The Dark Ages 3 million

Of course, while 3 million players is a massive achievement for such a short amount of time, it is worth noting that DOOM The Dark Ages is a day-one Game Pass addition – something which the aforementioned DOOM Eternal did not benefit from (arriving on the service 5 months after launch).

As such, while passing 3 million players 7 times faster than DOOM Eternal is worthy of note, it is equally important to understand the context of this announcement. It will be interesting to see how long we’ll have to wait for the next player count update.

KitGuru says: Are you one of the 3 million players? Did you purchase the game or play through Game Pass? Which entry in the new DOOM trilogy is your favourite? Let us know down below.

Computex 2025: Endorfy debuts the Fishtank 6000 and new peripherals

Endorfy has upped its presence at Computex this year with a large booth and a vast array of new products. Leo gets a closer look at some of the new cases, headlined by the Fishtank 8000.

Timestamps:

  • 00:00 Intro
  • 00:10 Arx series – Leo’s using one soon!
  • 01:04 The Fishtank 8000 and Fishtank 6000
  • 02:06 More cases
  • 02:49 Endorfy’s peripherals and streaming gear
  • 04:04 An array of coolers and fans
  • 04:25 Endorfy’s PSUs
  • 05:01 Signing off

One of the first things Endorfy announced for this year's Computex was a new white version of the popular Arx 700 ARGB case. This is a fan-favourite chassis in Endorfy's line-up and now it can appeal to more people thanks to the new colour option. We reviewed the black version of the Arx 700 case previously, so you can check that out for a more comprehensive deep dive. Leo will be getting the white version in for a new video soon as well.

Next up on our tour of the Endorfy booth is the new Fishtank 8000 and its smaller sibling, the Fishtank 6000. Yes, those product names are real. As the name suggests, the 8000 is a very large ‘fishtank' style chassis that delivers a full panoramic view of the internal system. The 6000 is a smaller model, which in turn means less liquid-cooling support, but also a cheaper price and you'll save space on or under the desk. Both versions support BTF motherboards, where your power connectors are hidden on the back of the board, allowing for fewer cables in the front of the case.

Endorfy also has a vast array of peripherals, including the new Thock V2 keyboards, available in four sizes both wired or wireless. Joining the line-up at Computex is the Celeris 1800 keyboard, first teased at CES earlier this year.

At the Computex booth, we also get a sneak peek at some upcoming wireless headphones from Endorfy, and the 2nd Generation Solum V2 microphone, aimed at the livestreaming crowd, or those who just want to sound really, really good in Discord calls.

To complement existing headsets, Endorfy has also created new headphone earpads in breathable fabric, leather and Cool Gel options. A line-up of Alt Grey themed peripherals are also on the way for those looking to transform their desk setup.

KitGuru Says: What did you think of Endorfy's new line-up for Computex? There was certainly a lot to see this year, and there is still more to come as several products were still in prototype form.

PlayStation Stars is shutting down after just 3 years

Back in 2022, Sony officially announced their brand new loyalty program PlayStation Stars – in which players could earn points by purchasing games, acquiring trophies as well as engaging with other various challenges. Unfortunately, it seems the service did not attract the audience Sony was hoping; having now announced the impending discontinuation of PlayStation Stars.

Making the unfortunate announcement on their blog, Grace Chen – the Vice President of Network Advertising, Loyalty & Licensed Merchandise at SIE wrote:

“Since launching…we’ve learned a lot from evaluating the types of activities our players respond best to, and as a company, we are always evolving with player and industry trends. Through this evaluation, we have decided to refocus our efforts and will be winding down the current version of PlayStation Stars. We will continue to evaluate our key findings from this program, and are looking into ways to build upon these learnings.”

With that Sony officially announced that from today, no new users can sign up for the service. Those who are already part of the program will be able to continue using it to earn Digital Collectibles, Points and level up their status for the next two months until the 23rd of July – at which point “there will be no new PlayStation Stars Campaigns available, or any additional rewards or status benefits to earn.”

PlayStation Stars

Finally, come the 2nd of November 2026, Stars' service will cease entirely.

While somewhat of a moot point, Sony did confirm that “PlayStation Stars members can still access their Digital Collectibles, even after these changes take place.”

Despite its issues, PS Stars was a pretty fun program which added another level of player engagement, encouraging them to try out new games all the while earning points along the way. Hopefully a new rewards program is introduced at some point.

KitGuru says: What did you think of PS Stars? Are you sad to see it go? Did you care about the digital collectibles? Let us know down below.

Atomfall was immediately ‘profitable’ upon release claims Rebellion

Rebellion Developments are known best for their work on the Sniper Elite franchise, having released 5 mainline entries in the series alongside a bunch of spin-offs. Launching their first new IP in a while, the first-person survival action game Atomfall arrived a little under two months ago to a wave of success. Now, the team at Rebellion have revealed just how successful it was, claiming the title to have been ‘profitable’ upon release.

In an interview conducted by Chris Dring’s The Game Business, Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley spoke on the near immediate success of Atomfall, claiming to be “super super super pleased it's done incredibly well,” adding that “we thought we had a good game but you never quite know whether it's going to be okay or really good or absolutely fantastic and it's been absolutely fantastic which is a pleasant surprise in today's geopolitical climate to be honest.”

Kingsley continued, “releasing a game took a lot of people a lot of hard work – and people appreciate it and enjoy playing it and it makes it profitable – then you know it's a nice little sort of bright spark in an otherwise potentially grim world.”

Atomfall Rebellion

While Rebellion have not shared any direct sales figures, the game was confirmed to have surpassed 1.5 million players in its first few days – making it the studio’s most successful launch ever.

Of course, Atomfall was a day-one Game Pass addition, but even so, whether it was thanks to the Microsoft deal, or the many players which opted to purchase the game, it is encouraging to see a new IP like Atomfall succeed so quickly.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Atomfall? Is it your favourite game from Rebellion? What do you want to see the studio work on next? Let us know down below.

PlayStation’s next major showcase reportedly coming in September

Following Sony’s State of Play back in February, rumours popped up claiming that the console maker was thinking of hosting a full-blown PlayStation Showcase sometime this Summer. A couple months removed from the leak and it seems Sony has had a change of heart – with their next event reportedly now planned for September.

Known industry insider NateDrake recently responded to fan questions pertaining to a potential PlayStation event this Summer. According to Nate “I still haven't heard anything about a May event from Sony for this year.”

When asked to elaborate further on any potential Sony shows, Drake claimed that they “have not” heard of any such shows currently in the works.

Showcase Summer

Following this, another insider (this time ResetEra’s John Harker) offered somewhat of a timeline for Sony’s plans, stating that their next event is currently scheduled for sometime in September.

If this does wind up being the case, then it is quite likely that Sony’s next event will be a full-on PlayStation Showcase.

While little else is known beyond this, the impending arrival of Ghost of Yotei in October means that Sucker Punch’s upcoming release will likely feature quite heavily. We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru says: What do you think of PlayStation’s rumoured plans? Were you hoping for a Summer Showcase? Could Sony still show up at Summer Game Fest? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Xbox exclusive Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is coming to PS5 with ‘Enhanced’ release

With Microsoft continuing to port its Xbox games to other platforms, it seemed only a matter of time before Ninja Theory’s Hellblade II would be confirmed for PlayStation 5. Following rumours earlier this year, Microsoft has now officially announced Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced – coming to PS5 this Summer.

In alignment with the game’s 1 year anniversary, Ninja Theory officially announced that Senua’s Saga is expanding to other platforms, saying “Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is coming to PlayStation 5 this summer with some exciting new features. These features will also be available at the same time as a free update for players on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox PC, and Steam.”

Little else was shared at the time, with the only enhancements officially stated being the game’s support for the PS5 Pro. That said, given the fact that the enhanced features are also planned to come to Xbox, there is likely much more than a simple resolution boost set to be introduced.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II launched a year ago to somewhat mixed reviews – in particular from fans – with some of the largest complaints surrounding its relative lack of player involvement. Hopefully the enhanced edition brings some additional gameplay elements along with it. We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru says: Are you looking forward to the enhanced release of Hellblade II? What do you expect to see added / improved? Will we get a Hellblade 3 at some point? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Nvidia RTX 5080 Super rumours surface

Nvidia's RTX 50 series GPUs remain a hotbed of leaks, with the latest whispers pointing towards RTX 5080 Super variant specifications. The original source of this information is unknown, but it has been shared online by well-known leaker Kopite7kimi.

According to Kopite7kimi, the RTX 5080 Super will reportedly feature the GB203-450 GPU, retaining the same 10,752 CUDA cores as the standard RTX 5080. However, the key upgrade lies in its memory configuration. The rumoured Super model is tipped to come with 24 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, which is expected to be achieved by using 3 GB GDDR7 modules.

This memory improvement isn't just about capacity. The RTX 5080 Super is also rumoured to pack in 32 Gbps GDDR7 memory, making it the fastest GDDR7 specification. This speed increase, combined with its 256-bit memory bus, would push the card's bandwidth from 960 GB/s to 1024 GB/s. Naturally, this bump in memory capacity and performance is expected to come with higher power demands, with the RTX 5080 Super reportedly estimated to draw around 400 W, up from the 360 W of the RTX 5080.

The leaker has not specified a release date for the RTX 5080 Super, nor confirmed the rumours regarding the RTX 5070 Super, which was also reported to contain 18 GB of memory.

KitGuru says: In most cases, the rumoured RTX 5080 Super shouldn't be any faster than the RTX 5080 in gaming. However, there are a few cases where 16 GB of VRAM isn't enough; for those, the extra 8 GB of VRAM will surely help.

Computex 2025: Corsair debuts Xeneon Edge, Triple-Chamber case and more

Corsair always saves some announcements for Computex and this year is no different. At this year's event, Corsair is showcasing new case designs, new cooling hardware. peripherals and more.

Timestamps:

  • 00:00 Intro
  • 00:10 Air 5400 case!
  • 02:42 Frame 5000D
  • 03:58 A 14i.5n touchscreen?
  • 04:41 New Shift PSU with iCUE
  • 05:25 Signing off

One of the first cases to draw Leo's attention at Corsair's private room was the Air 5400. You've heard of dual-chamber cases but this is a triple-chamber case, with ducted air intake to bring a major boost to GPU cooling. It also sports a dedicated 360mm radiator chamber, keeping the heat associated with CPU cooling out of the main chamber for improved thermals.

Next up is the new Frame 5000D which builds on the foundations of the FRAME 4000D. This is a high-airflow case with ample room for the most powerful graphics cards and custom liquid-cooling setups. The FRAME 5000D supports reverse connection motherboards and offers a wealth of customization options, thanks to its compatibility with the FRAME Modular Case System.

The Xeneon Edge is an interesting product. It is a small but wide 14-inch display intended to sit underneath your main monitor. It is a touchscreen, so it can be used for things like Elgato control, or to monitor system stats, or as a regular screen. It is on the expensive side though, with an expected price around $249. Nowadays, you can get a 27-inch QHD gaming monitor for around that kind of money.

Corsair does have something interesting on the power supply front too. The new RMx Shift PSU has extra ports on the side for iCUE Link, with a hub embedded in the PSU, removing the need to take up space with a dedicated hub.

On the cooling front, Corsair has announced the new RS-R ARGB 120mm PWM Reverse Fans Triple Pack. These are Corsair's daisy-chain fans, so they are good for creating a uniform look throughout the case and keeping visible cables to a minimum. At Computex, Corsair has also updated its line of NAUTILUS RS AIO coolers. Now these AIO CPU coolers include an LCD display on the block, in keeping with current industry trends.

For peripherals, Corsair announced the new MAKR 75, a barebones kit for enthusiasts looking to fully customise their keyboard. A new Corsair ONE a300 Metal Dark prebuilt PC is also on the way, packing dual 240mm radiators for cooling, along with a Ryzen 9000X3D CPU and an RTX 50 series graphics card.

Computex 2025: How to make a Waterblock with Thermal Grizzly’s Joe Robey

Today at Computex, Leo spent some extra time at the Thermal Grizzly booth talking to R&D chief, Joe Robey. In this interview we learn about the manufacturing and creation of waterblocks straight from the source.

Joe moved over to Thermal Grizzly from EKWB and is now in charge of Thermal Grizzly's new rollout of liquid cooling gear. The DeltaMate line-up of liquid cooling gear spans multiple parts, but the initial rollout focuses on high-end RTX 5090 graphics cards and the latest Intel and AMD CPU sockets. The first block we see is for the Asus ROG RTX 5090 Astral, and Joe walks us through how the final product comes together.

Thermal Grizzly has adopted a multi-finish process for these blocks, with glass blasting for a satin finish across non-contact areas of the block, and more machining to smooth out the contact areas of the block and give them a shiny mirror finish. Everything is then nickel-plated. A clear window can be found to give you a view of the coolant running through the block. Thanks to the extremely high attention to detail, these blocks look particularly great with RGB lighting. Prospective buyers may want to consider a clear coolant, as the RGB lighting from the block will shine through and give you as many colour options as you could possibly want.

The whole process takes place at Thermal Grizzly's HQ in Germany. Between all of the rounds of machining and blasting, the blocks are carefully handled by operators wearing gloves to avoid leaving any marks, and are stored in a benzene bath. When it is time to get the blocks nickel-plated and ready for sale, they are vacuum sealed to avoid any contaminants. Overall, the process takes about a month from beginning to end.

KitGuru Says: Are you considering putting together your own custom liquid cooling loop this year?

Computex 2025: Thermal Grizzly debuts DeltaMate cooling, der8enchtable and more

At Computex this week, Leo got an up close look at all the new products from Thermal Grizzly, including a new line-up of DeltaMate liquid-cooling components, and a new product designed in collaboration with der8auer.

Timestamps:

  • 00:10 Keyboards and Mice
  • 00:24 DeltaMate Products
  • 02:32 Wireview Pro Devices
  • 03:36 TG Delidded CPU
  • 04:16 Delid Die Mate / Heater / Fittings

  • 05:26 PhaseSheet / Kryosheet / Counductonaut
  • 06:02 Minus Pad Series / TG Putty
  • 07:00 TG Accessories
  • 07:35 Der8ench Table

Thermal Grizzly is well known for its thermal paste, but the company is expanding into more areas of the DIY PC niche. One of the new product lines on the way is the DeltaMate, a visually cohesive range of water-cooling components. The product line will include components compatible with the latest high-end graphics cards and processors, starting with select RTX 5090 graphics cards and AMD AM5 and Intel LGA 1851 CPU sockets. The first products in this line include the DeltaMate GPU Block – ROG Astral RTX 5090, the DeltaMate CPU Block – MPII AM5, and a series of DeltaMate Fittings and Extenders for 16mm soft and hard tubing.

Also debuting is the der8enchtable, a modular, user-friendly benchtable featuring an integrated active PCB and D-RGB lighting. The active PCB includes numerous features that significantly simplify and accelerate PC hardware testing. It is designed to support air and AIO cooling solutions and is ideal for hardware testing. This is less aimed at the general consumer and more towards content creators, extreme overclockers, modders and other professionals. Like the name implies, the table is designed in collaboration with der8auer, as well as ElmorLabs.

Another new prototype on display is the second generation WireView Pro, an improved version of the tool for measuring the power consumption of graphics cards. The new version has been improved to detect common issues associated with the 12VHPWR power connector. One of its key features is per-pin current measurement across the 12VHPWR connector, which is essential to monitor imbalanced loading and an integrated fan to ensure adequate airflow around all of the connectors in any situation.

KitGuru Says: Are you thinking about putting together a custom liquid cooling loop this year?

Computex 2025: Sharkoon unveils impressive line-up of peripherals, gaming desk and more

Today at Computex Leo checks in with Sharkoon to get a look at all of the latest peripherals and cases. The headline grabber? An actually affordable sit/stand motorised desk.

Timestamps:

  • 00:10 Keyboards and Mice
  • 03:27 Sharkoon Desk
  • 03:57 AK7 RGB Case
  • 04:40 More Cases
  • 05:24 Elite Shark CA400
  • 06:25 AIO Coolers
  • 07:16 PSU’S
  • 07:44 MK7 Case

Sharkoon makes some of the most interesting mechanical keyboards available and plenty of them are on display here at Computex. That includes the Elite Shark KM300W, with the latest version being significantly lighter than the previous. This keyboard also uses Sharkoon's own switches, which can easily fit the custom keycaps of your choosing for those who like to really customise their keyboard.

On the mouse front, Sharkoon has the SGM25W, a new wireless mouse weighing just 60g. A small batch of a shiny-coat version is being made to test the market, but a matte version is also available. Leo was even more impressed with the SGM70W, which weighs about 40g and is “so light it feels like they forgot to put anything in the shell”.

And then we step back to Sharkoon's new desk. The frame and top are available separately, with the motorised legs and frame costing around €200 and the top piece costing around €100. Considering other gaming brands are charging north of £1000 for a setup like this, Sharkoon's offering strikes me as remarkably affordable.

On to cases, we have the new Sharkoon AK7 RGB, a follow-up to last year's AK6, with newly included mesh panels running around the bottom of the case. For someone looking for a quick and easy RGB setup, the AK7 RGB makes a lot of sense thanks to the four pre-installed ARGB fans. The AK7 RGB also supports BTF motherboards, so all of your motherboard power connectors can be hidden at the back of the case for a clean front view of your components.

The Elite Shark CA400 is another standout case here. We previously reviewed the CA300 case at around £170. The new CA400 has a number of changes and is significantly cheaper at around £120. The front panel has two large 160mm fans for air intake and smaller 120mm fans in the rear. The materials have been changed, so there is now very little aluminum, and the space on the right-side panel has increased so users can have an easier time fitting a cooler in there.

In the video Leo also goes over Sharkoon's new AIO coolers and PSUs, so there are a lot of options available for those looking to build a new PC, whether you need a case, cooling, power, a set of peripherals, or even a desk.

Corsair announces new cases, systems and cooling components

Corsair is at Computex 2025 to show a broad portfolio of new hardware. Here, we break down the new cases, advanced cooling systems, and a selection of peripherals, catering to builders and gamers of all levels.

Corsair is introducing new case designs to make your next build stand out. The Frame 5000D builds on the foundation of its predecessor (5000D), expanding in every dimension. This high-airflow chassis offers ample room for graphics cards and cooling configurations. Like the previous model, the Frame 5000D supports reverse connection motherboards and integrates with the Frame Modular Case System for extensive customisation.

For those who want to display their hardware in style, the Frame 4500X features a seamless, wraparound view with a single-piece curved glass screen that covers both the front and side panels. It comes bundled with reverse-rotor RGB fans, which draw cool air into the case while showcasing their RGB LEDs. As part of the Frame family, it supports the Modular Case System, allowing for extensive customisation, including replacing the motherboard tray or swapping the side fan mounting bracket. This case provides ample cooling, with capacity for up to ten 120mm fans and two 360mm radiators.

The last case to mention is the Air 5400, which introduces a triple-chamber architecture with a ducted air inlet designed for GPU cooling. This unique multi-zone structure dedicates a separate 360mm radiator chamber to the CPU, keeping its heat isolated from the main compartment for improved thermal performance throughout the system. The main chamber ensures excellent ventilation via airflow ducts that guide air to the hottest components while maintaining low noise levels. Included reverse-rotor RGB fans deliver powerful cooling with unobstructed lighting. The Air 5400 also supports reverse connection motherboards.

For enthusiasts seeking a powerful, tiny gaming machine, the new One a300 Metal Dark stands out. This latest addition to the compact PC lineup is specifically built to accommodate the all-new Nvidia RTX 50 Series GPUs. It features dual 240mm liquid-cooled radiators for enhanced performance and low noise. Powered by an AMD Ryzen 9000X3D Series CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, this system is ideal for content creators, professionals, and gamers, all housed within an aluminium chassis.

Two new power supplies are also being showcased at the event. The first is the HXi SHIFT Series, which redefines PSUs with an integrated iCue Link System Hub, side-mounted Shift connectors, and Cybenetics Platinum efficiency, alongside a native 600W-capable 12V-2×6 cable (two on the 1500W model). Then there's the updated RMx Shift, offering similar features with its native 600W 12V-2×6 cable, side-mounted modular connections, and adjustable fan speed control.

Keeping components cool is vital, and Corsair's latest solutions are up to the task. The RS-R ARGB 120mm PWM Reverse Fans Triple Pack offers effective cooling and vibrant illumination. These fans feature quiet magnetic dome bearings and a silent Zero RPM mode with simple daisy-chained connections and control. For CPU cooling, the Nautilus RS AIO coolers have been enhanced with an integrated LCD, which can be configured to show temps, GIFs, or images. The LCD can be acquired separately as a replacement pump cap for existing owners.

Samsung reportedly pushing Nintendo to make a Switch 2 OLED

While there is no denying that the Switch 2 represents a generational leap over 2017’s Nintendo Switch, one of the biggest disappointments with the upcoming successor is its lack of an OLED screen. According to insiders, Nintendo’s hardware partner Samsung is pushing for the company to greenlight a Switch 2 refresh featuring an OLED panel.

As reported by Bloomberg (paywalled), Samsung is currently gearing up to produce a ton of 8nm processors for the Switch 2, with 20 million units reportedly expected to be made and ready to ship by March of next year.

Interestingly, this goes beyond Nintendo’s current expectations, with the console maker recently stating that they plan to sell 15 million units between launch and March of 2026.

Far more interesting however was the revelation that a Switch 2 refresh could already be in the works to some degree, with Bloomberg claiming that “The Korean company has also pushed for OLED panels to be used when Nintendo refreshes the Switch 2 in future, another person said.”

OLED Samsung

As mentioned, while the Switch 2’s screen is infinitely more capable than the original 2017 Switch – featuring a higher resolution, better quality LCD panel with double the refresh rate; HDR support and more – its lack of an OLED panel when compared to Switch 1’s 2021 refresh does put a slightly hamper on the upcoming sequel system.

Given the fact that Samsung is known for its excellent OLED panels, hopefully Nintendo is considering such an upgrade for what seems to be an inevitable Switch 2 refresh. We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the Switch 2’s display? Are you disappointed by the lack of an OLED screen? Will you wait for this potential refresh before purchasing a new Switch? Let us know down below.

Naughty Dog officially confirms they are working on two projects right now

Since the launch of the PS5 generation, Naughty Dog has been in an interesting spot. With their previous live-service The Last of Us plans being ultimately cancelled, the studio has so far yet to release an original game this console generation. That said, following the official announcement of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet late last year, Naughty Dog has now confirmed that a second unannounced project is also in the works.

In an interview with Naughty Dog director Neil Druckmann discussing the ongoing second season of HBO’s The Last of Us, the studio director offered a slight tease on what they are currently cooking up in the game dev kitchen beyond the previously-announced Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, saying:

“There's another game that's being worked on at Naughty Dog where I'm in more of a producer role and I get to mentor, watch this other team, and give feedback and be like the executive in the room. I enjoy all those roles, and the fact that I jump from one to the next it makes my job very exciting and always feeling fresh. I'm never bored.”

Naughty Dog Intergalactic

As expected, no further details were shared. That said, Druckmann himself has in the past claimed to have an idea for a potential Last of Us Part III – though it may not come to fruition. Beyond this, rumours have persisted for years that Sony is looking to bring back the Uncharted series – a franchise created by Naughty Dog.

Regardless of what this next project will be, it is interesting to know that Druckmann is not the one in charge. Previous leaks have claimed that this second mystery project is being headed by Shaun Escayg – known best for directing the highly-underrated Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

The same leak also claimed that this game has been in development for 3 years, meaning it could arrive sooner than expected. Of course, while we now know that Naughty Dog are 100% working on a second unannounced title, the previous leaks should still be taken with a pinch of salt.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see what Naughty Dog is currently cooking up – and whether both titles will arrive before the inevitable launch of the PS6.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Druckmann’s statement? What do you think this mystery project could be? Would you rather Naughty Dog be working on a new Uncharted or TLOU3? Let us know down below.

Computex 2025: Thermaltake’s insane sim rigs, MineCube 360 and modded PCs

Thermaltake always has a lot to show off at Computex and this year was no different. There are some insane sim rigs, crazy modded builds and a whole bunch of cases, coolers and fans. Leo has boots on the ground to guide us through it all.

Timestamps:

  • 00:00 Intro
  • 00:10 Thermaltake’s INSANE sim rigs!
  • 02:07 TT’s View cases
  • 03:44 Meet the new AIOs
  • 04:54 The MineCube 360!
  • 05:37 Loads of fans
  • 06:24 Thermaltake builds and mods!
  • 08:54 Signing off

Few companies offer as many case colour options as Thermaltake, with a ton of shade options from ‘Lightyear Green' to ‘Butter Caramel', ‘Future Dusk' and even ‘Mint Strawberry'. Of course, if you do prefer a standard black or white colour-scheme, Thermaltake offers those as well. Some of the newest cases shown at Computex this year is a new array of View TG cases, which offer curved tempered glass panels for panoramic view of the internals. Thermaltake has also updated its TR series of compact cases, and a new screen accessory is now available, allowing users to modify their case with an interactive display on the side. The previous version of this accessory offered a much smaller screen, making it much less appealing. Leo approves of the new size.

Thermaltake has a whole range of third-generation TH-series AIO coolers here at Computex, but our eyes were quickly drawn to the MineCube 360. This cooler has a CPU block cover with four 3.95-inch displays surrounding it, complete with a magnetic quick-release function. It is certainly a sight to behold amongst a crowd of flat-display AIO coolers.

The Project Edge fans return at Computex, with displays mounted to the edges of the fans, which would make for an eye-popping setup when equipped with a 360mm radiator, and a case like the View TG.

If you are looking to put together a Racing Sim or a Flight Sim setup, then Thermaltake has you covered there as well. The G6 bundle delivers a complete sim racing setup with a direct-drive servo motor housed in an aluminum wheelbase, providing precise control and realistic force feedback. The bundle also includes a three-pedal set (accelerator, brake, and clutch) with adjustable mounting options for a customised and stable feel. You can add on a the GM5 3DOF Motion System to recreate real-world movements and sensations. For those who are more enthusiastic about flying rather than racing, Thermaltake has the GF500 Cockpit, which offers a lot of the same functionality, but is designed for flight sticks and thrusters, rather than wheels and pedals.

Throughout the booth, Thermaltake has also showcased a range of modded PC builds from various creators. This includes a massive build that doubles as a shrine to last year's video game, Black Myth Wukong.

KitGuru Says: What did you make of Thermaltake's showing at Computex this year? The MineCube 360 and Project Edge fans will certainly garner some attention.

Stellar Blade sequel confirmed with tentative 2027 release date

Stellar Blade launched last year to a wave of success – receiving high praise across the board and selling a ton of copies to boot. With the PS5 exclusive set to arrive on PC next month, the team have already confirmed that a sequel is in works; currently planned to release some time in 2027.

As part of the company’s latest investor relations meeting, Stellar Blade creators SHIFT UP spoke on the ongoing success of their new IP, making note of its commercial and critical performance.

In discussing the future of the studio and its IPs, SHIFT UP revealed that beyond the impending ‘platform expansion’ to PC, Stellar Blade is set to receive a sequel as well.

Stellar Blade 2027

Though little else was shared regarding their plans, the chart they released seems to indicate that they hope for the sequel to arrive by 2027 – a pretty fast turnaround for a game of its scale in today’s market.

Of course, this is just an early plan, with most video game projects encountering some level of setbacks throughout development.

Even so, while the team have previously spoken on the notion of a Stellar Blade sequel, this marks the first time that the company has officially committed to such a plan. Hopefully the expected success of the PC release helps to bolster development on the sequel further. We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru says: Are you excited for Stellar Blade to come to PC? Is 2027 too ambitious of a release target for a sequel? What would you like to see changed/added with Stellar Blade 2? Let us know down below.

Monster Hunter Rise and more leaving PlayStation Plus next month

Each month, Sony updates its PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium libraries with a number of new and returning titles. Unfortunately, at the same time the company also removes games from the service on a monthly basis. With May’s games now available to download and play, the console maker has announced half a dozen titles which are set to leave PS Plus Extra / Premium next month.

In going to the PlayStation Plus tab on your PS5, you’ll find a list of  titles under the ‘Last Chance to Play’ section. Leaving the service at some point in June are the following:

  • Monster Hunter Rise
  • After Us
  • Kayak VR Mirage
  • Rogue Legacy 2
  • Inscryption
  • Avicii invector

Plus Month

Easily the most high-profile game being removed is Monster Hunter Rise. While most fans of the franchise have likely moved on to the more recent Monster Hunter Wilds, Rise offers enough of its own unique spin on the series’ gameplay loop to make for a worthwhile playthrough.

That said, Monster Hunter titles typically require a solid amount of time and dedication in order to get the most out of – something which PS Plus Extra subscribers are unfortunately limited by.

Beyond this, other notable departees include the highly unique deck-building rogue-like Inscryption from Daniel Mullins of Pony Island fame. Of course, we would be remiss to not mention Rogue Legacy 2 – an excellent sequel to 2013’s rogue-like platformer which takes pretty much every aspect from the first game and builds upon it; making for a highly satisfying gameplay loop.

While no exact date has been given for their removal, the games above will likely leave PS Plus some time during mid-June – meaning you still have a bit of time to give some of these games a go.

KitGuru says: What do you think of next month’s departees? Are you disappointed to see MH: Rise being removed? What’s your favourite rogue-like platformer? Let us know down below.

At Computex this year, G.Skill is once again hosting the OC World Cup as well as a modding competition. Leo gets a good look at some of the modded PCs in the video above, including one system built to look like a giant mech, with Trident Z5 RGB memory modules acting as part of the mech's armour, with a liquid-cooled CPU at the centre. Another modded system is created to look like a mini bar, while another modded build features a holographic display with a dancing anime avatar. G.Skill will announce results for its modding contest and OC World Cup placements later in the week.

G.Skill is always improving its memory offerings but so far in the DDR5 generation, we've only had a few different heatsink designs, falling into the Trident Z5, Royal and Neo categories. This year, the company is adding some more colour to the mix, with new green and orange memory modules. G.Skill is also working on its first 10,000MT/s DDR5 memory kit, setting a new bar for ultra-fast consumer memory.

CAMM2 memory is also something that G.Skill is working on, alongside other vendors across the industry. We expect CAMM2 memory to head to the consumer market in 2026 and beyond, so it will be a while yet until any of us can get our hands on one.

MSI introduces Portal X, its new web-based RGB control platform

MSI is set to launch a new solution for managing the RGB lighting of your MSI components, promising to simplify the process significantly. Dubbed MSI Portal X, this platform is entirely web-based, eliminating the need for any software installation, allowing users to control their RGB lighting effects directly from a web browser.

When logged into MSI Portal X, the platform instantly recognises all compatible MSI devices on your system via RGB Centre (available exclusively on Windows systems). Users can then customise RGB lighting effects for each device and per port, with adjustable brightness and three customisable speed levels. For added convenience, an ‘All Sync' button enables one-click synchronisation of lighting effects across all recognised devices, removing the need for separate modifications.

MSI highlights Portal X's quick and straightforward user interface, designed to allow users to easily adjust lighting effects separately or synchronise them all at once, streamlining the entire RGB management experience. With its imminent release, MSI PortalX aims to offer a versatile and seamless approach to managing RGB lighting for enthusiasts, directly from their browser.

Computex 2025: Kingston showcases Fury CAMM2 memory, new SSDs and more

At Computex this week, Leo checked in with Kingston to get a look at all of the new SSDs and memory modules hitting the market. One of the biggest surprises for us was the unveiling of the new Kingston Fury CAMM2 module, bringing memory to desktop PCs in a whole new format.

Timestamps:

  • 00:10 Servers – the money room!
  • 01:33 There’s a ROCKET
  • 02:02 Consumer desktop SSDs and memory
  • 03:09 The REALLY good stuff – CAMM2
  • 04:08 Signing off

Upon entering the Kingston booth, we immediately get a look at a server rack, housing a stack of Kingston Server Premier DDR5 memory, and Kingston's Data Center-class SSDs.

Moving on to consumer-oriented tech, we have Kingston's new Fury Renegade G5 SSD. This is Kingston's latest PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, offering speeds of up to 14,800MB/s, putting it in the upper echelon of PCIe 5 SSDs in terms of speed. We reviewed this drive just recently, so you can find a whole bunch of benchmarks and performance metrics there.

Moving on to RAM, we have the Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 line-up, offering up to 6800MHz speeds and up to 128GB capacity. Kingston also has CUDIMM DDR5 memory on show, which Leo has used in Intel Arrow Lake-based systems before. These modules offer up to 8800MT/s speeds and utilise Infrared Sync technology to keep the RGB lighting uniform across all modules.

Finally, we get to the new Kingston Fury Beast CAMM2 memory module. This is a prototype based on the new CAMM2 standard, running on a prototype Aorus motherboard. These CAMM2 modules are capable of housing up to 128GB of memory. While we were anticipating CAMM2 memory to take over the laptop market, it seems that vendors are also working on desktop variations. Unfortunately, we don't know when CAMM2 devices will become available to the general public, but Leo reckons 2026 could be the year.

Xbox Game Pass to get another revamp with new tiers and higher prices according to insider

Xbox is currently in a bit of a state of limbo, with the Series X|S consoles continuing to sell fewer units by the day, all the while fans eagerly await the official announcement of Microsoft’s much-teased handheld. One insider has now shared a ton of details surrounding Xbox’s future plans – including another Xbox Game Pass revamp.

As part of their most recent video, known industry insider eXtas1s revealed what is claimed to be Microsoft’s current future plans for the Xbox ecosystem. While this includes quite drastic and sweeping changes such as full integration of Steam and the Epic Games Store, one of the more interesting titbits pertains to Xbox Game Pass.

According to eXtas1s (and as translated by ResetEra user P40L0), Game Pass is set to receive yet another major overhaul following their previous rebranding back in 2023.

Though not quite as transformative as the prior update (which saw the Xbox Live Gold program discontinued and replaced with Game Pass Core), this upcoming change is said to bring with it:

  • A cloud-only tier
  • An ad-supported tier

Xbox Game Pass

Of course, a shake-up of Game Pass will also be met with changes to its pricing, with eXtas1s claiming that subscriptions will once again go up – especially for the PC tier (which is currently by far the most consumer-friendly tier).

Despite their shift towards a more 3rd-party release strategy, it seems Game Pass is here to stay – albeit at a higher cost. We will have to wait and see exactly what Microsoft has planned for the service.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Microsoft’s plans? How much is too much to pay for a monthly subscription? What Game Pass tier do you use (if any)? Let us know down below.

Nintendo announces return to Gamescom

Ever since the death of E3, Nintendo has mostly kept to itself when it comes to announcing games at showcases – instead focusing on their Nintendo Direct events. With the Switch 2 almost upon us however, it seems the console maker is trying to attract as many eyes as possible; confirming that they will be returning to Gamescom for the first time in a while.

Making the surprise announcement via Twitter, the official German Nintendo page shared the following (as translated by ResetEra user RandomlyRandom67): “Mark your calendar in red: Nintendo will be back at @gamescom in 2025. We look forward to welcoming you to Cologne from August 20 to 24!”

Nintendo Gamescom

As mentioned, this marks the return of Nintendo to Gamescom following their absence last year. While no reason was given as to why they are coming back, it is quite clear that this has been setup as a result of the upcoming Switch 2.

Whether we will get actual announcements of new games, or simply another opportunity for hands on with the Switch 2 (despite it being out by that point) we will have to wait and see. That said, given the relatively light first-party console launch line-up, hopefully Nintendo has big announcement plans in the works.

Indie Quest Showcase announced with a focus on JRPGs

For the past 5 years or so we’ve seen a wide range of different online video game showcases pop up – focusing on specific publishers, platforms and even sub-genres of games. Joining the fray is ‘Indie Quest’: “a brand-new digital showcase spotlighting the best and brightest in independently developed JRPGs.”

Releasing a teaser trailer for the upcoming event, JRPG-focused YouTuber The Gaming Shelf wrote: “Indie Quest is a brand-new digital showcase spotlighting the best and brightest in independently developed JRPGs. Curated by Taylor Hoyt of The Gaming Shelf, the premiere event debuts May 29 at 4PM PDT / 7PM EDT with over 40 exclusive game trailers, a must-see world premiere from a critically-acclaimed studio, and a unique twist.”

It’s worth noting that the term JRPG in this instance likely refers more to the typical style of classic Japanese RPGs – as opposed to RPGs developed in Japan itself.

Regardless, it is always nice to see new video game showcases pop up. With so many titles releasing every single day, having a curated collection of quality games is welcome indeed.

Computex 2025: Nvidia reveals latest AI tools and Project G-Assist improvements

Prior to Computex, Nvidia invited members of the media to a briefing on upcoming announcements for gaming and AI. We've already gone over the RTX 5060 launch today, so now our attention turns towards Nvidia's latest AI software updates.

The Nvidia AI PC software stack now covers over 750 games and applications, making use of RTX GPUs' accelerating hardware. For instance, TensorRT still provides best-in-class AI performance with gains of up to 2x compared to DirectML. TensorRT for RTX will be available to developers in June, offering an optimised inference backend for PCs running AI applications.

The new NIM for RTX container will further aid development efforts, with pre-packaged generative AI models, optimised for TensorRT. NIMs and AI blueprints will be available to download via Nvidia's own website, as well as through partners.

Project G-Assist also continues to grow. This is Nvidia's locally-run AI digital assistant for PCs. Through new plugins, users can now use G-Assist in conjunction with popular apps like Discord, Twitch and Spotify, as well as more professional apps like IFTTT, Gemini, SignalRGB and penRGB.

The tools for developers to build their own plugins are now publicly available, so we should see even more functionality added to G-Assist over time.

Wooting is launching a 60HE V2 keyboard in Q4 2025

Wooting, known for making analogue and Hall-Effect keyboards popular, is back with an updated version of the 60HE. Building on that foundation, they've introduced the Wooting 60HE v2, incorporating years of feedback and technological advancements to push the original model to new heights. The new keyboard will be available in Q4 2025.

One upgrade in the 60HE V2 is the updated MCU, enabling the keyboard to poll at up to a blistering 8K Hz. With Tachyon Mode enabled (which turns off RGB), it achieves ‘real 8K polling' with precise analogue key scanning, reducing input latency to 0.125 ms. The keyboard comes pre-assembled with the new linear Lekker Tikken switches (MX stem), the latest addition to the Lekker family. These are the first closed-bottom switches with a full 4 mm actuation range, designed to provide a marbly sound profile. With a rated lifespan of 100M clicks, the Lekker Tikken switches have a 40cN start and 60cN end force.

The 60HE v2 features a full aluminium casing with an enhanced design, including a friction-fit mount and silicone standoffs to protect the PCB. Users can also customise the look with replaceable strap and no-strap components on each side and choose between a standard or split space bar layout.

To shape the keyboard's sound and feel, Wooting is including a PET film layer behind the switches for a marbly sound, a PC plate sandwiched in HD Poron layers to soften keystrokes and add low-frequency sound, and an FR4 switch plate for a thocky sound. The bottom case dampening is made with a removable silicone block that can be replaced with EPDM foam or left empty for different acoustic profiles.

Borderlands closing in on 100M copies sold

The Borderlands franchise continues to be a sales powerhouse in the looter-shooter genre. According to Take-Two Interactive's latest financial report, the series has sold approximately 93 million copies since its inception in 2009. However, it's far from being its most successful series, with GTA, NBA 2K, and Red Dead Redemption already exceeding 100M since their inception.

Starting with Borderlands, Borderlands 2 remains the series' best-seller, having moved over 30 million units since its 2012 debut. Borderlands 3 is positioned as ‘2K's fastest-selling title', surpassing 22 million units sold since its 2019 release. Beyond the main sequels, spin-offs like Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands have expanded the franchise's reach, even if at the same level as Borderlands 2 and 3.

With the next main instalment, Borderlands 4, just a few months away, the series' sales figure will surely increase. The game is expected to propel the franchise above the 100 million sales mark, putting it at the same level as the Red Dead Redemption series. However, the Red Dead Redemption series only has two entries, with Red Dead Redemption alone being able to sell over 74 million units.

The Grand Theft Auto series is still (and should maintain for the foreseeable future) Take-Two's best-selling franchise, with almost 450 million units sold, up from 440 million in the previous quarter. Grand Theft Auto V alone has sold over 215 million units, 5 million more than last quarter. As for the NBA 2K series, it has sold over 160 million units globally, an increase from over 155 million. Lastly, Sid Meier's Civilisation series has sold over 76 million units, up from over 73 million.

Computex 2025: Intel unveils new Arc Pro Battlemage GPUs, Gaudi 3 accelerators and more

At Computex this week, Intel is showcasing two new graphics cards – the Intel Arc Pro B50 and Arc Pro B60, designed for professional workstations, rather than gaming PCs. Intel is also furthering its push in AI with the new Gaudi 3 accelerator and the new Intel AI Assistant Builder.

Starting off with new graphics cards, Intel has expanded its Arc Pro graphics card line-up with the new B50 and B60 GPUs. These are the latest GPUs based on Inte's Arc Battlemage architecture, as well as Intel Xe Matrix Extensions (XMX) AI cores and Ray Tracing units to accelerate intensive visual and AI workloads.

The GPUs are optimised for architecture, engineering, construction and inference workstations, offering stability and performance through a wide range of independent software vendor (ISV) certifications and optimized software. The Intel Arc Pro B-Series GPUs are compatible with consumer and pro drivers on Windows. On Linux, the GPUs support a containerized software stack to simplify AI deployments, and will be progressively upgraded with features and optimisations.

The Intel Arc Pro B60 GPU will be sampling from add-in board partners including ASRock, Gunnir, Lanner, Maxsun, Onix, Senao and Sparkle starting in June 2025. The Intel Arc Pro B50 GPU will be available from Intel-authorized resellers starting in July 2025.

Moving more into the topic of AI, Intel has launched the Gaudi 3 AI accelerator. These PCIe cards support scalable AI inferencing within existing data center environments. Customers can expect Gaudi 3 to provide a use when running AI models like Llama, and Maverick. These PCIe cards will be available starting in the second half of this year. The rack-scale version supports up to 64 accelerators per rack and offers up to 8.2TB of high-bandwidth memory. The racks are designed with liquid cooling in mind too for those seeking the highest performance possible.

The final thing on Intel's Computex list is the AI Assistant Builder. This lightweight, open source software framework is now available, allowing developers to create custom AI assistants that run locally. The public beta release is now available through GitHub, and systems from the likes of Acer and Asus will be demonstrating examples at Computex.

Computex 2025: Leo reacts to Nvidia keynote – does Nvidia still care about gamers?

Computex 2025 is now underway and we are beginning the week with Nvidia's keynote. Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, is hosting once again and Leo has come away with the impression that Nvidia just doesn't care about gamers anymore.

While Nvidia did give a few gaming-related updates to members of the media prior to the event, Jensen's actual keynote was entirely focused on AI, outside of a quick mention of the RTX 5060 desktop graphics card and RTX 5060 for laptops, both of which are available starting today.

Nvidia is now described as an AI infrastructure company, pushing the acceleration and adoption of this technology. However, Nvidia is also exploring Quantum Computing, which could open up a whole new avenue for Nvidia's massive supercomputers.

The keynote closed out with talk of Nvidia's new headquarters being built in Taiwan, codenamed ‘Constellation'. In all, the keynote gives the impression that the future for Nvidia will clearly be AI focused, and gaming is becoming more of a footnote in the company's plans.

KitGuru Says: Did any of you tune into Nvidia's Computex keynote? Do you think we'll eventually see Nvidia drop ‘gaming' from its portfolio and entirely focus on enterprise and B2B sales?

Xbox firmware update brings new homescreen customisation options

While the company may not have introduced a brand new UI for its latest Xbox Series X|S consoles, Microsoft has continued to update and refine the overall user experience on Xbox through consistent firmware updates. As part of the newest release, Xbox owners will soon be able to customise their homescreen to a much greater degree.

Making the announcement via a blog post, Xbox’s Eden Marie detailed the latest firmware update coming to those signed up for the Xbox Insider Program, writing: “Starting this week, Xbox Insiders will notice a fresh set of customization options rolling out to the recently played games and apps list on Home. This update is part of our ongoing effort to make Home more personal, flexible, and responsive to your feedback.”

With that, the full list of new features landing with this update include the following:

  • You can now hide system apps from the recently played games and apps list on Home
  • You can now pin up to three of your recently played games or apps directly to the recently played games and apps list
  • You can now reduce the number of visible tiles in the recently played games and apps list
Xbox Firmware Xbox Firmware

Currently available to ‘Alpha Skip-Ahead’ and regular ‘Alpha’ users, these changes were made in “direct response” to fan feedback, writing “We’ve heard from many of you that Home should feel more like your space. Whether it’s surfacing your favorite games, hiding what you don’t use, or simply making Home feel less crowded.”

Though far from the most transformative update, this latest firmware release should allow those who prefer a clean homescreen to finally have the catharsis which they have long wanted.

First-party Nintendo titles won’t use the Switch 2’s Game-Key Card system

One of the biggest controversies surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 currently is its use of a new Game-Key Card feature, which essentially gives you a physical cartridge which holds little more than a ‘game key’ to allow owners to then download the game to their system’s internal storage. While a large portion of the currently-announced 3rd party titles will be using these Game-Key Cards, Nintendo has no plans to utilise these cards for their own first-party titles.

In a statement by Nintendo UK to the Switch-focused publication NintendoLife, the console maker claimed that “We currently have no plans to use game-key cards for Nintendo-developed titles.”

Of course, though far from a permanent and definitive statement, it does put to rest some concerns which players had regarding Switch 2 games – especially as physical releases will now cost consumers extra compared to digital.

Game-Key Switch

That said, it will be interesting to see how closely Nintendo sticks to this as currently the Switch 2 only offers a 64GB cartridge or the aforementioned Game-Key Card. What Nintendo will choose to do if/when one of their first party titles exceeds 64GB in size, we will have to wait and see.

At the very least it seems that for now, those who purchase any first-party Nintendo titles can rest assured that the cartridges themselves will be actual cartridges.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the new Game-Key Card system? Is 64GB too little for the current console generation? Will Nintendo eventually introduce a 128GB card? Let us know your thoughts down below.
