Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti card listed with release scheduled for February 20th

Par : João Silva

Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5070 Ti cards have been expected to be released in February since the 50-series was announced at CES 2025, but we've not had a specific date – until now. A retailer listing might have spilled the beans on the upcoming release of the Nvidia RTX 50 series card, pointing the launch date to February 20th.

While the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are stealing the spotlight with their imminent launches, gamers eager for a more budget-friendly option anxiously await news about the RTX 5070 series. Proshop (via VideoCardz), a German retailer, has seemingly shared the RTX 5070 Ti's release date, listing it for availability on February 20th. However, Nvidia hasn't confirmed this, so it could also be a placeholder date.

The RTX 5070 Ti is expected to feature the GB203-300 GPU with 8,960 CUDA cores and 16 GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit bus. It's rumoured to consume around 300W of power. Proshop hasn't yet listed a release date for the standard RTX 5070, suggesting that the non-Ti variant might launch later.

The RTX 50 series launch is underway, with the RTX 5090 reviews dropping today. Next week, the RTX 5080 takes centre stage, with reviews expected to go live on January 29th and the official launch on January 30th.

KitGuru says: Are you planning to get an Nvidia RTX 50 series graphics card? If so, which one are you getting?

India tries telling Apple to pre-install government iPhone apps

The Indian government wants its own state-backed apps to be pre-installed on every iPhone and Android phone, but Apple and Google are expected to refuse.

India says Apple has abused its dominant market share of iOS apps

India's government has a thing about pre-installed apps, having previously told Apple it should let its experts examine them before any updates are allowed. That was reportedly in a private discussion in 2023, and appears to have gone nowhere — which might be what happens with the new demand too.

According to Bloomberg, India's latest private discussions with Apple and Google revolve around the government's own apps. It wants its own state-backed suite of apps to be supplied pre-installed on all phones, and also to be downloadable from third-party App Stores without "untrusted source" warnings.

Gamesir Cyclone 2 Controller Review: Charging Tower Enters The Game

Par : Sarfraz Khan

Gamesir has been quite active in the recent years, releasing newer and refreshed gaming controllers. Having used and tested a few of Gamesir's controllers, I can say that I am a bit more impressed with their mid-range offerings, like Gamesir Tarantula Pro than the budget ones, like GameSir T7. The company is back again with another controller, the "Gamesir Cyclone 2", a successor to the first Cyclone controller. There are already some visible changes when you keep both side by side but apparently, the layout isn't changed. There are some small changes on the outside but some are significant, which […]

8 games will be leaving PlayStation Plus next month

Each month, Sony updates its PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium libraries with a new line-up of titles. Similarly, every month a number of games are also removed from the service. With God of War Ragnarök, Like a Dragon Gaiden and more recently being added, Sony has now announced exactly which games will be leaving soon.

In going to the PlayStation Plus tab on your PS5, you’ll find a list of 8 titles under the ‘Last Chance to Play’ section. Leaving the service at some point in February (likely mid-month) are the following:

  • The Outer Worlds: Spacers Choice Edition
  • Tales of Arise
  • Tales of Zestiria
  • Tales of Symphonia Remastered
  • Tales of Vesperia
  • Outriders
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Bulletstorn

PlayStation Plus

While a shorter list of departees than some months, fans of the Tales of series will be disappointed to see so many of the franchise’s entries set to be removed – especially the most recent release: Tales of Arise.

As mentioned however, the blow of these losses are somewhat alleviated by the recent additions to PS Plus Extra/Premium, including the likes of God of War: Ragnarök; Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name; Citizen Sleeper; Sayonara Wild Hearts and more. The full list of games added can be found HERE.

KitGuru says: Are you disappointed by the list of titles leaving? Will you try to squeeze in a playthrough of any of these games before they’re gone? What’s your favourite ‘Tales of’ entry? Let us know down below.

How to share Safari tabs across different devices with iCloud Tabs

Having Safari be able to open the same tabs on all your Apple devices is hugely convenient, yet Apple hides the feature away. Here's how to find and make use of it.

Web browser interface showing multiple tabs including a podcast tab and various website icons. Navigation menus display options like News, Reviews, How-Tos, and Videos.
What did we do before tabs? And now you can automatically share them across your devices

This is specifically about what are called iCloud tabs — and they are not the same as Tab Groups. If you use Tab Groups in Safari on one Apple device, the feature is on with the same tabs on all your devices.

In theory, iCloud tabs is always on too, but you have to dig further to find it, and you have to make sure that it is enabled.

Apple will still have to deal with a class-action lawsuit alleging pay disparity

A proposed class-action lawsuit against Apple, which alleges that the company underpays its female staff, is going forward after all.

A proposed class-action lawsuit against Apple is moving forward.

Even though Apple claims it takes the issue of gender discrimination seriously, with the company even having an entire webpage dedicated to diversity, the iPhone maker has faced serious criticism. In June 2024, a class-action lawsuit against Apple alleged that the company systematically underpays its female employees across multiple divisions, including AppleCare, engineering, and marketing.

According to the class-action lawsuit, Apple based its employee pay on "prior pay and pay expectations to set starting salaries," meaning that women are paid less from the get-go. The company's performance evaluations are also said to favor men, who are often rewarded with bonuses and raises based on talent, while their female coworkers are not provided with the same treatment.

The availability of Apple Intelligence on iPad 11 is still in question

On Wednesday, an anonymous social media account with a verifiable track record published detailed information on multiple unreleased Apple products. Earlier in the day, the leaker claimed that the fourth-generation iPhone SE, the iPad 11, and the 2025 iPad Air models would all ship with iOS 18.3 preinstalled.

The leaker has since returned with even more information on these devices, but some of their recent claims raise more questions than answers.

A private X account with a good track record for accuracy as it pertains to operating system details claims that the 22D8062 build of iOS 18.3 will be preinstalled on the iPhone SE, the fourth-gen model that is anticipated to arrive soon. At the same time, it says build 22D2060 of iPadOS 18.3 will be preinstalled on the 11th gen iPad and iPad Air.

Its aluminum interior and vertical cooling system enhance the visual appeal and optimise airflow, drawing cool air from the bottom and exhausting heat through the top.

“A few other surprises” to be announced during Xbox Direct, according to insider

Tomorrow, Microsoft will be going live with its Xbox Developer Direct, in which the console maker is said to be showing off 4 titles in total – including DOOM: The Dark Ages and South of Midnight. According to one insider, Microsoft is keeping its cards close to its chest, with “a few other surprises” said to be announced during the event.

Ahead of the premiere of the Xbox Developer Direct on Thursday the 23rd (6PM UK Time), industry leakers ‘Insider-Gaming’ have revealed some of the announcements set to be made during the showcase.

Alongside the release date for DOOM: The Dark Ages – which is supposedly planned to arrive on the 15th of May – Insider-Gaming has reported that:

“As well as the four game announcements, a few other surprises will be announced during the event or in the coming days.”

Xbox Developer Direct

Microsoft has been known to offer a surprise announcement or two during its previous Xbox Developer Directs. That said, given the fact that the 4th game has remained shrouded in mystery so far, it is interesting to see that they also have ANOTHER surprise in store.

We won’t have to wait long to find out what exactly this is.

KitGuru says: Are you excited for the Developer Direct? Which of the 3 announced titles are you most interested in? What do you think this ‘surprise’ could be? Let us know down below.

Mortal Kombat 1 tracks behind MK11 with ‘just’ 5 million copies sold so far

Contrary to its prior release schedule, NetherRealm went straight from MK11 to Mortal Kombat 1 – skipping their previous cadence of breaking up Mortal Kombat releases with a new Injustice game. This seems to have worked against the series, as following the record-breaking release of MK11, Mortal Kombat 1 has so far ‘only’ managed to sell 5 million copies.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the head of NetherRealm Studios – Ed Boon – shared some details on future updates for Mortal Kombat 1. Alongside this, Boon also offered some details on the sales performance for MK1, stating:

“With over 5 million games sold, seeing Mortal Kombat 1 still in the top 15 most played Playstation 5 games makes us very grateful to Mortal Kombat fans. Thanks for continuing to support NetherRealm Studios games!”

Mortal Kombat 1 MK11

While pitched as a positive, 5 million copies sold is a major drop-off when compared to the previous entry – Mortal Kombat 11 – which managed to break 15 million sales in its first 3 years on the market.

Of course, 2023’s MK1 hasn’t been out long enough for a direct 1:1 comparison, but with future DLC for the game having been cancelled already,  the game is unlikely to have majorly long legs.

The general sentiment around Mortal Kombat 1 seems to be that NetherRealm was a bit premature with its release – and it seems the game’s sales are reflecting this fact.

It will be interesting to see what NetherRealm plans to work on next. Hopefully not another Mortal Kombat (at least for now).

KitGuru says: What do you think of Mortal Kombat 1? Is it a worthy sequel to MK11? What do you think NetherRealm’s next game will be? Let us know down below.

"Severance" has been a critical and popular hit since it started, and is already talked about so much that it probably doesn't need promotion. But that's what it got with an all-star stunt at New York's Grand Central on January 14, 2025.

Apple has now released footage of the stunt, showing stars including Adam Scott, Britt Lower, and Zach Cherry, working in a replica of their "Severance" office set. Placed in a glass cube, the pop-up was big enough for four cubicles and some room to walk around the edges.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 film arrives in March 2027

While the initial trailer for the first Sonic the Hedgehog film introduced a hideous character redesign sparking a ton of backlash, the final product proved to be a major success for SEGA and Paramount Pictures. Since then, we’ve gotten two sequels and a spin-off TV show – all of which have been received well both critically and commercially. It therefore comes as little surprise that a 4th Sonic film is now on its way – set to premiere in March of 2027.

Ahead of the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, SEGA and Paramount announced that a 4th entry had been greenlit, with a tentative release year set for some time in 2027.

Work on Sonic 4 seems to be progressing pretty rapidly, with the distributors having now announced that the 4th entry in this film franchise will arrive on the 19th of March 2027 – a little over two years on from Sonic 3’s December 2024 release date.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2027

For context, while none of the Sonic movies have been major box office blowouts, each film has been able to maintain a strong and consistent financial return.

2020’s Sonic 1 managed to bring in $320 million, followed up by 2022’s Sonic 2 ($405 million) – and last but not least Sonic 3 has so far earned $422 million (though the film is still currently showing in cinemas).

Given just how much backlash there was upon the initial announcement of the original Sonic the Hedgehog film, it is both surprising and welcome to see the series become a major and successful film franchise. Hopefully the quality of releases remain solid and consistent for all future titles.

KitGuru says: Have you watched Sonic the Hedgehog 3? What did you think of the film? What Sonic game do you hope to see the 4th film be inspired by? Let us know down below.
