Music is often used to help people relax or to focus, providing an auditory backdrop for listeners that can make them feel better in some situations. In an extension of the concept, Apple Music is going further by making the music even more beneficial.

Working with Universal Music Group's audio technology, Sound Therapy is an audio wellness collection exclusive to the streaming service. Rather than simply being a playlist of tracks that users associate with relaxation or focus, the project uses special versions of existing tracks that seamlessly include special sound waves without disrupting the artist's vision.

Prepare for a scam gold rush with the App Store changes

Firms protesting against Apple's App Store rules keep saying they're looking out for our interests as users, but it's solely about their profits, and to make that money they are fighting to remove what protects us from scams.

An open App Store comes with risks —- image credit: Apple

Forget that it's Apple who runs the App Store. Certainly, it is important that it's Apple, since that company is surely the most scrutinized in the world, but what's more important is that the App Store is run by one single company.

With one firm, you may agree or disagree with its rules and its prices, but at least it is one single set of terms and conditions for you to ignore. You're not signing up to countless different stores, you're not giving your credit card details to countless different companies.

Jude Law and Andrew Garfield bring magic and mayhem to Apple TV+ in "Wild Things"

Apple TV+ is transforming its hit podcast "Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy" into a star-studded limited series that follows the meteoric rise — and tragic fall — of the legendary illusionists.

Two men side by side; left man with short dark hair, direct gaze, neutral expression; right man in a suit with beard, light hair, slight smile.
Jude Law and Andrew Garfield

In 2021, Apple TV+ unveiled the "Wild Things: Sigfried & Roy" podcast, which followed the tale of the titular illusionists. It aimed to pull back the velvet curtain and examine the most famous and controversial magicians in history.

Now, Apple TV+ has plans to bring the story to the small screen with "Wild Things," an upcoming eight-part limited series. The series has been written, shown, and executive produced by Emmy Award nominee John Robert Hoffman, who also co-created the hit Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building."

AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT claimed to have higher clock speeds than the RX 9070

Just days before its anticipated reveal at Computex next week, new leaks are shedding more light on AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card, including clock speeds, video ports, and its PCIe interface.

Hardware leaker @momomo_us has revealed details circulating among retailers, including previously unseen specifications. The new information includes game clocks listed at 2700 MHz and 2780 MHz. This suggests the RX 9060 XT's typical game clock will be faster than the boost clock of the RX 9070. Boost clock speeds have also been leaked, with the highest boost clock documented for the RX 9060 XT sitting at 3320 MHz, notably higher than the RX 9070 XT's 3100 MHz boost.

The leak also suggests the Navi 44 GPU will use a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface. That's particularly useful for those who wish to pair the GPU with PCIe 4.0 systems, as 16x lanes shouldn't hinder performance. The leak also verifies that the card will be powered by a single 8-pin power connector and feature 2x DisplayPorts and an HDMI port, consistent with other RX 9060 XT variants seen thus far.

Unofficially, the Radeon RX 9060 XT is expected to feature 2048 Stream Processors and be available in 16 GB and 8 GB memory options, both running at 20 Gbps across a 128-bit memory bus. AMD has not officially shared any pricing, performance benchmarks, or power specifications, which are expected to be revealed soon, potentially at Computex.

KitGuru says: Seeing the rumoured specs for the Radeon RX 9060 XT, do you think it will be better, worse, or about the same as the RTX 5060 Ti in rasterisation?

Horizon Forbidden West sequel reportedly targeting 2027 cross-gen launch

Guerrilla Games is pretty well known for being a leaky studio at this point. Through various sources, we've learned about the multiplayer Horizon spin-off early, and now, we are also starting to see leaks around plans for Horizon 3.

The next major installment in the Horizon series is claimed to be targeting a 2027 launch, according to a new potential leaker on the scene, TCMFGames. The account claims that Horizon 3, which will complete Aloy's trilogy, may also be a cross-generation game, releasing for both PS5 and the PlayStation 6, which is expected to arrive in 2027.

The Horizon series so far has sold 30 million copies, spanning two games – Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. The third game in the trilogy will supposedly focus on Nemesis, a rogue AI heading towards earth, as shown during the events of Forbidden West.

It is also claimed that the long-rumoured Horizon multiplayer spin-off will release before the next major single-player game.

KitGuru Says: It feels a bit too soon to be talking about next-gen consoles, as the pandemic led to so many game delays. Still, it seems as though the industry will be forging ahead, with both Microsoft and Sony apparently targeting 2027 for new hardware launches.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 gets native mod support

The Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 mod scene is poised to expand dramatically. Developers have officially released the game's Integration Studio, which provides players with the same toolbox used to construct and test the game, allowing modders to better integrate their creations within the game.

Director Dmitry Grigorenko announced the official Integration Studio for public use, giving the community unprecedented access to the game's engine. This release means Space Marine 2 modders now have more creative flexibility than ever before. The official dev toolkit is expected to ease mod production significantly and dramatically speed up development while providing access to powerful tools previously unavailable to the public, such as the game's AI behaviour trees, level scenario builder, UI and HUD components, and much more.

Released last year, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 effectively revived the Warhammer community and drew new interest. The game has seen consistent ongoing support, and this release of dev tools is arguably its most significant update yet. It is set to make modding easier and more open-ended than before. While many modifications have already been created (including a recent 12-player co-op mod), the official tools should empower the community like never before.

Looking ahead, developers have also revealed plans for periodic new releases as Space Marine 2's Year 1 cycle continues, promising more enemy variety, weaponry, and armour. By releasing their internal development tools, Sabre Interactive is showing a strong commitment to empowering the modding community, setting the stage for player-created content to potentially extend the life and possibilities of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.

KitGuru says: Are you still playing Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2? Do you intend to use the native mod support to create something of your own, or will you wait to see what others do?

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra delayed to ‘early 2026’

While it was previously reported by a voice actor working on Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra that the game would release this holiday season, the game needs more time in the oven. Today, a 2026 release date was officially confirmed by Skydance Games.

In a tweet shared this afternoon, Skydance Games confirmed that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed and will now release in ‘early 2026'. Presumably, this means before the end of March, keeping the game well ahead of GTA 6, which lands in May next year.

In its statement, Skydance said that “taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish, and make sure we give you the best possible experience”.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra showcases an early-career Captain America, fighting in the middle of World War 2. Black Panther also features prominently in the game, as he looks to protect Wakanda from being discovered by Nazi forces.

KitGuru Says: Hopefully we'll get a more concrete release date later this year. With this being a major AAA Marvel release, I'd expect to see a new trailer sometime this summer.

Maxsun 8GB RTX 5050 graphics card listings spotted alongside 24GB Intel Arc GPU

Regulatory filings often provide concrete evidence of upcoming hardware, and the latest from Maxsun, a Chinese PC hardware company, is no exception. Filings with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) confirm the existence of the previously rumoured Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card and a high-capacity variant of the Intel Arc B580.

The EEC entries shared by @Olrak29_ suggest that a discrete GeForce RTX 5050 GPU is coming soon. Listings show up to 16 distinct variants from various Maxsun series, including iCraft, Transformer, Terminator, and OTES. The filings confirm that the RTX 5050 will feature 8 GB of VRAM, although the EEC listings do not confirm the specific memory type (GDDR6 or GDDR7).

According to previous rumours and leakers, the RTX 5050 is expected to use the GB207 GPU with 2560 Cores and a TDP around 130W, likely on a 128-bit memory bus. Other Maxsun EEC filings also list higher-end RTX 50 series GPUs like the RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, 5070, 5060 Ti, and 5060 – the latter expected to be announced by Nvidia at Computex next week. Rumours suggest the RTX 5060 will also come with 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a 128-bit memory bus, indicating the RTX 5050 will sit below it in the stack. Pricing and availability are still unknown, but with Computex right around the corner, we might learn something in the coming weeks.

Adding to these findings, the EEC filings (also via @Olrak29_) also confirm a specific variant of the Intel Arc B580 from Maxsun. The listing for the ‘ARC B580 iCraft 24G OC' provides concrete evidence that Intel is indeed developing a version of the B580 with 24 GB of VRAM. This supports recent rumours about a high-capacity B580.

KitGuru says: Would you be more interested in an RTX 5050 GPU or an Arc B580 graphics card with 24 GB of VRAM?

Intro

Today we’re reviewing the Corsair Frame 4000D and the case is modular in some interesting ways. For instance, the motherboard tray and power supply shroud/tray can come out. And that’s what gets us to the name “frame.” It’s a frame of a case and it can be reconfigured.

It’s actually pretty well built. There’s some really good build quality to the case. The fan rail system at the front comes off with a pull and has what Corsair calls “3D Y-shaped patterns.” While the front panel looks flimsy, it’s actually strong due to its depth. The steel stamping for the cable management shroud area is also relatively high build quality.

The reason we’re excited about this case is because Corsair lately has really sucked with some of its cases, but the Frame 4000D doesn’t and that’s encouraging.

In addition to the case’s modularity, it also has trademarks:

The new InfiniRail(TM) fan mount is joined by Corsair’s 3D Y-pattern airflow pattern, and better yet, Corsair says this case is “50 Series Ready,” which is impressive, because not even NVIDIA was 50-series ready.

This is the Corsair Frame 4000D, and overall, we like it. It’s an interesting case. The case is the successor to Corsair's long-lived and highly popular 4000D (and its 4000D Airflow and 4000X variants) which we first reviewed back in 2020 and even liked.

In spite of the name, the Frame 4000D is an entirely new design, which means we're going to have to say "Frame 4000D" every single time we mention it and can’t shorten it to 4000D as that’s a different case. We suspect part of the reason for the similarity is to enable the classic reuse-the-old-Newegg-listing trick: those 1,000+ five-egg reviews are almost all for the original 4000D, not the Frame 4000D, but it gets to share them on the same listing. Corsair also occasionally refers to the "Frame 4000 Series" sans-D, so we may see a Frame 4000X at some point.

The case ranges from $95 without fans to the $110 RS ARGB with 3x 120 ARGB fans. It’s targeting the modern budget range.

There's a $100 middle step as well with fans but no ARGB. Based on discussion with Corsair, it sounds likely that the MSRPs will increase due to tariffs, but we don't have hard numbers for what those increased prices would be.

The Frame 4000D is interesting because Corsair has gone all out with the gigantic holes in the front panel: functionally, they're close to having no front panel at all.

Corsair Frame 4000D Overview

The differentiating factor for the Frame 4000D is that it's intended to be modular, with users able to buy or 3D print alternate components.

This is reiterated constantly in Corsair's marketing materials, including public blog posts: "FRAME is all about customization and we have some exciting things on the horizon. In addition to parts that will be available for direct purchase, We have modelled some blanks of the PSU shroud and motherboard tray, so you can download [...] these from Printables and customize them however you like."

The Build

The rotatable vertical GPU mount is one of three major features that genuinely live up to Corsair's promise of modularity, the other two being the PSU shroud and the motherboard tray (which can be removed with four screws). This is vital: being able to eventually buy or print individual components is nice, but it doesn't have anything to do with the case's design. With these three features, we're comfortable saying that the Frame 4000D is more modular than a typical case. It's also possible to swap the glass and mesh side panels to either side of the case, but this won't be useful until Corsair sells side panels individually or introduces more case SKUs.

The vertical GPU mount is surprisingly quick to set up: by loosening two thumbscrews around the expansion slot covers, the entire set of seven slots can be removed and rotated 90 degrees. A riser cable can then be installed and supported by two standoffs installed on the surface of the PSU shroud. Using the built-in mounting holes, a maximum of three vertical slots are usable. Obviously Corsair intends for you to purchase a Corsair riser cable, but if you want to use your own, the holes are spaced 122mm apart.

The Frame 4000D has old school pop-out fill and drain ports at the top and bottom of the chassis, which we also really appreciate. Open-loop compatibility fits well with the modular philosophy that Corsair is pushing.

So far, these things are good. If we’re picking antiquated hills to die on, paper manuals will be one of them:

We'd like to see a paper manual included with the case in addition to the version on Corsair's blog. The benefit of the online guide is that it can be updated; for example, the online manual now explains what the point of the strip of mylar in the accessory kit is, whereas we had to email Corsair (it covers the reverse-connector holes in the motherboard tray when they're unused). A paper manual can’t be updated, which is a downside as much as it is an upside: The upside is that a company can’t gaslight a customer if something proves incompatible and is retconned. It’s also just more convenient to build a computer with a physical manual.

But then again, maybe Corsair doesn’t deserve paper manuals since its own digital manual incorrectly lists the screw count and steps for removing the power supply shroud. With a digital one, they’ll be able to make as many mistakes as they want and the only people who will know about them is everyone who read this article.

For the record, it’s 3 screws, not 2. And the diagram is also incorrect.

There's another, larger piece of black mylar in the kit, but the manual devotes less explanation to this one, simply saying that if you "don’t want your cables visible through the bottom mesh quarter-panel, swap the translucent insert for the color-matched blank-out insert included in the Accessory Box."

The case also has a Lian Li-ish strip of mesh ventilation below the glass side panel and it ships with the translucent insert. If you install fans in the two 120mm slots on top of the PSU shroud, we'd recommend getting rid of the inserts entirely.

The Frame 4000D uses the so-called "InfiniRail" system. At the front of the case, there are two metal rails that hold up to 12 plastic clips. The rails slide in and out for 120mm or 140mm mounting, and the clips slide up and down the whole length of the rails. Technically, the rails can fit 200mm fans at their maximum width, but only by forgoing the clips and mounting directly to the rails.

At the top of the case, Corsair took the simpler approach of using a single sliding rail and no clips. The system is more complicated than it strictly needs to be, but our only real complaint is that there are exactly twelve clips included with the base model Frame 4000D, with no spares in case one breaks.

The only significant fit-and-finish issue with our review sample was that one of the plastic pieces of the ball snap fasteners had popped out of the chassis in shipping. We were able to find it and put it back, but just like the InfiniRail clips, Corsair didn't provide any extras (like some other manufacturers do).

As for build quality, construction of the Frame 4000D feels more delicate than the older 4000 series cases. This is partly a tradeoff for the more breathable mesh pattern, flexible fan mounting, and removable components. All of these things get exchanged for rigidity. Corsair apparently intends to sell Frame 4000D components individually as well, but we don't see any on the store as of this writing.

On the positives for build quality, the elaborate stamped 3D pattern on the front panel is much sturdier than it looks. We'll have thermal results later in this review, but the Frame 4000D's front panel appears more open than the 4000D Airflow's (watch our review) while retaining most of its rigidity.

There's a cable cover at the front of the case that can be installed in one of two positions, but as is frequently the case, we were only able to use it in the forward position because of the ATX power cable. The other position is better suited to back connect motherboards, of which ASUS BTF, MSI Project Zero, and Gigabyte Project Stealth have been validated by Corsair to work. The cable cover is extremely easy to remove, requiring only a single screw, and it's equally easy to slot the side fan mount from the accessory kit in its place. The side fan mount is another feature that will become more interesting if Corsair introduces a Frame 4000X or other variant with a sealed front panel.

Cable management is good with tons of velcro straps behind the motherboard tray, but the best route for the 24-pin cable is along the cable bar, which isn't an option if the side fan mount is installed instead. Front I/O cables are neatly sleeved and the whole I/O unit pops off with two screws, so it would have been nice to allow alternate mounting locations (like in the O11D EVO), especially since having the I/O at the bottom of the case has become unusual these days. Even still, we like the modularity of it. They are delivering on that.

As for storage, drives can be mounted on two plates, one behind the motherboard tray and one under the PSU shroud. Each plate can mount either two 2.5" drives, one 3.5" drive, or one "iCUE LINK System Hub controller." We'll be interested to see whether Corsair comes up with a modular solution to fit more drives, but for now, that's it.

The default location of the GPU anti-sag arm is on the cable cover, too far forward to benefit anything except the longest GPUs, especially if the cable cover is shifted to its forward position.

It can be moved a step further back by using the "mini mount" in the accessory kit, but there's no way to do any finer adjustment, and you should look for a different solution if you really think your GPU needs that support.

Appearances are subjective. For some, a possible downside of the Frame 4000D's increased modularity is that it doesn't have the clean, uninterrupted lines of the original 4000D cases. We'll leave it at that; you can form your own opinion.

The $95 base model Frame 4000D that we were sent for review didn't include any stock fans, so Corsair sent along a pack of three RS120 ARGB fans. We used these fans to match the stock configuration of the $110 Frame 4000D RS ARGB, which is how the case is marked on our charts. According to Corsair's spec sheets, the ARGB fans have the same specs as regular RS120s, so these results are also representative of the $100 Frame 4000D RS (non-ARGB)'s performance.

CPU Full Load Thermals - Noise-Normalized

We’ll start with noise-normalized thermals when using our hemi-anechoic chamber to establish the noise levels.

Under full load with the case fans adjusted to hit our 27 dBA noise normalization target, CPU temperature in the Frame 4000D averaged 43 degrees Celsius above ambient, or 47 degrees on just the P-cores. That's a significant improvement over the original 4000D Airflow's average of 49 degrees (53 on the P-Cores), but that's to be expected since the older case has only two fans and splits them between the front and rear of the case.

Relative to the rest of the chart, the Frame 4000D performed fairly well here. The Phanteks XT Pro Ultra is comparable in price and design, but it split the difference between the Corsair cases, with the Frame 4000D still a couple degrees cooler. The Lancool 207 (read our review) remains the budget case to beat with averages of 41 degrees across all cores and 45 on the P-Cores, while the NZXT H5 Flow 2024 (watch our review) and Phanteks G400A (watch our review) performed similarly well. The G400A remains difficult to find in the US.

GPU Full Load Thermals - Noise-Normalized

Moving to GPU thermals under full load in the same noise normalized test, the Frame 4000D averaged 45 degrees above ambient, with 49 degrees for the memory and 59 for the unshown GPU hotspot. That's another victory over the original 4000D Airflow, which averaged 49 degrees for the GPU temperature, but again that's with two fans to the Frame 4000D's three.

The G400A effectively tied the Frame 4000D in this test, while the H5 and XT Pro UItra didn't do as well. The XT Pro UItra averaged 47 degrees for the GPU, a couple degrees warmer than the Frame 4000D. The Lancool 207 remains near the top of the chart for cooling. To learn more about that one, you can check out our Best Cases round-up from last year or our original review for more info on that case's pros and cons.

CPU Full Load Thermals - Full Speed

At full speed, the Frame 4000D's CPU thermal performance continues to scale fairly well for its price, while the 4000D Airflow falls further behind. The Frame 4000D's noise levels and performance were essentially tied with the Phanteks XT Pro Ultra here, with the Frame 4000D averaging 40 degrees above ambient, or 43 on the P-Cores. The G400A performed similarly as well, but with a lower 37dBA noise level to the Frame 4000D's 43dBA, while the Lancool 207 remains an outlier with both lower temperatures and lower noise levels, making it a lot better here than really most of these other cases.

CPU Full Load Thermals - Standardized Fans

The standardized fan test has always had limited usefulness, but this is one of the places it’s useful.

It’ll help us evaluate the Frame 4000D's unusual front panel by comparing it against other cases with an identical set of fans and placements including the 4000D. Average all-core CPU temperature was 40 degrees above ambient and the P-Cores were 44 degrees. That's reasonably well-matched to established mesh-fronted cases like Fractal's Meshify 2 Compact (watch our review) and North XL (read our review), and extremely close to SilverStone's recent FARA 514X (read our review). The Frame 4000D is also significantly better than the 4000D Airflow when normalizing to the same fans, reinforcing Corsair’s improvements to the chassis design itself.

No matter how open the front panel is, though, the fans still have to pull air through Corsair's filter as well, so it makes some sense that some single-layer mesh designs like the Lancool 207, Pop Air RGB (watch our review), and Flux Pro (read our review) perform slightly better here, although the G400A also did fairly well with two layers.

GPU Full Load Thermals - Standardized Fans

In the same test, GPU temperature in the Frame 4000D averaged 43 degrees above ambient, tying it with most of the cases we just mentioned (Lancool 207, Pop Air RGB, and Flux Pro), while the XT Pro Ultra did unusually poorly with an average of 50 degrees.

As a side note, GPU thermals with the 4000D Airflow were abysmal in this particular test relative to the rest of the chart. That differs from what we saw 5 years ago using our old test hardware, which demonstrates the value of retesting these cases now that we've switched to new components and a flow-through GPU design.

VRM & RAM Full Load Thermals - Noise Normalized

As a final note, the VR VCC sensor averaged 30 degrees above ambient in the noise-normalized test with the Frame 4000D. That puts it at the cooler end of what we typically see from cases, with only a couple of outliers like the Lancool 207 and Flux Pro dropping to the 27 degree mark.

The same goes for the SPD Hub average of 24 degrees above ambient (which is the RAM temperature), with relatively few cases on the chart dropping below 22 degrees. Both these sensors indicate normal internal case temperatures.

Corsair Frame 4000D Conclusion

Our fully custom 3D Emblem Glasses celebrate our 15th Anniversary! We hand-assemble these on the East Coast in the US with a metal badge, strong adhesive, and high-quality pint glass. They pair excellently with our 3D 'Debug' Drink Coasters. Purchases keep us ad-free and directly support our consumer-focused reviews!

Of the existing Frame 4000D SKUs, the Frame 4000D RS at $100 is a decent deal, especially given how tightly packed the SKUs’ prices are. Going from 0 fans to 3 fans is worth $5, and going from no RGB to ARGB may or may not be worth another $10. We need Corsair to follow through with more modular case components (like the alternate front panels it showed in the trailer) to make it really interesting, or at the absolute least offer some more printable files

The Lancool 207 remains king in terms of min-maxed price-to-performance, but the Frame 4000D is a reasonable alternative to budget Phanteks cases like the G400A and XT Pro Ultra, or potentially some Montech cases (which we'll be adding more of to the charts shortly).

As a successor to the existing 4000 series, we like the Frame 4000D functionally. Some of the finer attention to detail elements like the geometric patterns and yellow accents remain, just with a more complex appearance than previously.

Corsair has mentioned that it may have to increase prices, but we don’t yet have final details on what that amount might be on this case. We don't encourage panic buying, but if you've decided that the Frame 4000D is the case for you and it's currently in stock at MSRP, we wouldn't recommend waiting around for a discount. Overall, this is a job well done by Corsair. It is a much better return to form as compared to something like the 6500D (read our review) from last year.

Fallout Season 2 arrives this December, Season 3 confirmed

Recently, Amazon confirmed that filming had wrapped on Fallout Season 2. Now, barely a week later, the first teaser trailer for season 2 has dropped, and Amazon has renewed the series for a third season.

As reported by Hollywood-focused news outlet, Variety, Fallout has amassed over 100 million viewers since the first season released. That ranks the show in Amazon's top three ever and as a result, it is now amongst Amazon's top priorities for the Prime streaming service.

Amazon has quickly begun putting together Fallout's second season, releasing a teaser trailer and confirming a December 2025 premiere date. The previous season spent one year in editing before airing, but with the show now being a priority, it is beginning post-production immediately.

Recent comments from one of the Fallout series stars, Aaron Moten, point to a six-season plan for Fallout. Amazon clearly has faith in the show, having renewed it for Season 3 well ahead of Season 2's release. Now we just have to see if the show can maintain viewership.

KitGuru Says: As much as I enjoy HBO's The Last of Us, the Fallout series surprised fans in all the right ways and feels like the superior show to me. Are you looking forward to the next season of Fallout?

Remedy schedules playtest for its first multiplayer game – FBC: Firebreak

FBC: Firebreak, Remedy Entertainment's first multiplayer game, is coming out next month. Ahead of the launch, Remedy has now announced plans for a public playtest, but you'll need to sign up to participate.

While this is a public playtest, it is not an open playtest. Those interested in trying Remedy's co-op shooter, set in Control's Oldest House, will need to sign up now and wait for an invite to participate. The playtest will take place between the 15th of May and the 19th of May, giving players just one weekend to put the game to the test ahead of its June 17th launch.

FBC: Firebreak will see teams of three FBC employees taking down threats throughout The Oldest House, armed with various inventive weapon types, as shown in a previous gameplay trailer.

The game will be launching on Steam and the Epic Games Store, a notable change from Alan Wake 2, which has remained an Epic Games Store exclusive since launch. The game will also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Better yet, Remedy will be adding the game to both PlayStation Plus Premium and Xbox Game Pass (PC Game Pass included), on day-one.

KitGuru Says: Are you interested in FBC: Firebreak? Will you be grabbing it via Game Pass / PS+, or will you be buying it?

Stellar Blade is coming to PC next month

Shift Up teased plans for a PC version of Stellar Blade last year. Now, after months of development, the game is finally coming to PC, complete with a new boss battle, alongside support for all of the PC-specific features you would expect.

PlayStation Studios will be publishing the PC version of Stellar Blade. The new trailer showcases the PC build in action:

The trailer was initially published early on the PlayStation YouTube channel but was later taken down. The video above is a mirror.

PC gamers can expect 25 new costumes and a new boss battle in the launch version of the game. That same content will be available on PS5 as well, but it is included with the PC version of the game at launch. The PC version also sports higher resolution textures, support for ultrawide resolution displays, upscaling features like DLSS 4 and FSR 3, an unlocked frame rate and keyboard/mouse support. Shift Up has also made an effort to optimise the game for handheld PC systems like the Steam Deck.

Stellar Blade will release on Steam and the Epic Games Store on the 11th of June.

Publishers still fear GTA 6 following recent delay

Rockstar recently announced that GTA 6 has been delayed. The new release date is now set for May 26th 2026 and while this has been good for several games releasing this year, titles that had been internally delayed to Spring 2026 are now in a tricky spot.

According to Bloomberg's games industry expert, Jason Schreier, the GTA 6 delay has been good for a number of titles releasing this year, including The Outer Worlds 2, Ghost of Yotei, Marathon, Battlefield and the next COD game. However, at least one big multiplayer project has now found itself in a tricky position, as it had delayed to Spring 2026 to avoid GTA 6 and now risks releasing right alongside it.

The report also claims that there is ‘no guarantee' that GTA 6 does not get delayed again, so a second delay for this particular project could prove catastrophic for keeping within budget, thus raising the amount of sales required to achieve profit. Achieving even higher sales while being in the vicinity of GTA 6 will prove a tricky task for a smaller IP.

There are also developers hoping for clarification on the release of GTA Online. While GTA 6 Story Mode has been confirmed for May 26th 2026, the next iteration of GTA Online has not been confirmed for the same date. With GTA 5, Rockstar rolled out GTA Online separately from the single-player game. If the same thing happens with GTA 6, publishers will have two major release dates to watch out for, as GTA Online has proven to be one of the most popular live multiplayer games on the market.

KitGuru Says: Do you think GTA 6 will be delayed again? We did see two delays for Red Dead 2, so it wouldn't exactly be a first for Rockstar.

The core specs are confirmed in the following CPU-Z and GPU-Z screenshots:

I tested gaming performance on the OMEN Max 16 at both its native 2560×1600 resolution and also at 1920×1080. The latter unsurprisingly yielded higher framerate and was a better fit for the 240hz refresh rate panel. Performance varied from title to title by quite some margin, as can be seen in the screenshots below. For full details of all titles we tested, check out our full video review on YouTube.

Black Myth: Wukong (2560×1600)

F1 24 (2560×1600)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (1920×1080)

Cyberpunk 2077 (1920×1080)

Closing Thoughts

The Omen Max 16 is a great looking laptop, the model we were sent for the review is finished in a stunning white ceramic coating that certainly catches the eye. The finish is further accentuated by the great RGB implementation across the keyboard and underglow strip.

However, when we look at performance, it is plagued by the usual thermal issues that arise when manufacturers cram power hungry parts in to thin chassis. When using the ‘Unleashed' power profile found in the Omen Gaming Hub software, the Core Ultra 275HX very quickly hits its thermal limits and in turn throttles power usage, which results in substantial dips in performance core clock speeds and performance.

The 1TB SSD also disappointed when considering the £2999 price point. Game install sizes have grown year on year and we think 1TB just isn't enough for a premium gaming machine in 2025. The screen is a saving grace though – it's gorgeous, producing vibrant, crisp and smooth visuals which will satisfy even the most demanding pixel peepers.

For details of power usage, noise and temperatures check out our full video review on YouTube.

You can buy the OMEN Max 16 for £2999 directly from HP HERE.

Pros:

  • Svelte design.
  • Latest generation Nvidia RTX 5080 GPU.
  • Decent 1080p gaming performance.
  • Gorgeous screen.

Cons:

  • Suffers from CPU thermal throttling when under heavy workloads.
  • Expensive.
  • Poor battery life.
  • Only 1TB of SSD storage.

KitGuru says: The OMEN Max 16 is a beautiful laptop sadly hampered by poor thermal performance when under load.

Switch 2’s Game-Key Cards will not be limited by the eShop

Ever since Nintendo officially unveiled the Switch 2, one of the system’s many talking points has surrounded its use of a new Game-Key Card system which includes no data on the cartridge itself. Thanks to a recent leak, we have a greater idea of exactly how these cards will function – and it’s slightly better than expected.

As part of a recent leak at Arc System Works, a bunch of small and ancillary details have been revealed for Switch 2.

With regards to the Game-Key Cards, the leak claims that these 0GB cartridges should (hopefully) be usable no matter where in the world you are.

Game-Key Switch

This is due to the fact that instead of downloading the game from the eShop, these Game-Key Cards can access a dedicated server which is independent of Nintendo’s digital store.

Though yet to be confirmed, this could allow for faster download speeds as well as a greater level of long-term support – assuming Nintendo chooses to keep these servers up beyond the life-cycle of the eShop itself.

While still a rather controversial addition, Switch 2’s Game-Key Cards are perhaps slightly less egregious than previously thought. It’s just a shame that developers/publishers have very few options when it comes to printing physical Switch 2 games.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

KitGuru says: What are your thoughts on Game-Key Cards? Should they cost less than actual physical games? Let us know down below.

Nightdive has seen an “influx” of publishers wanting to work with them

Nightdive Studios is easily one of the most trusted remastering/porting houses around, with the team having worked on all sorts from DOOM to Quake; Turok and of course the System Shock remake. With so many successes under their belt, the team have revealed just how in-demand they currently are.

In an interview conducted by RPGSite, Nightdive Studios’ founder and CEO Stephen Kick spoke on a great deal of topics – ranging from their current projects; to their ownership under Atari and how they go about remastering games.

In discussing their increased success and cache within the industry, Kick was asked “Has it now reached a point where there are more people who want you to bring their games to modern platforms than you have time to do so?” to which he stated:

“Oh, absolutely. We've had that problem for quite a while now, actually. I'd say that probably around the time of DOOM 64 [2020], once we did that title, it was like, we could no longer afford to go out and find games.”

Nightdive Studios

They continued, “It was more like, how are we going to handle the influx of people coming to us and asking us to do their game? So the whole thing kind of flipped on us where we weren't looking for work. We were looking for people to come and work for us to do more games. It's been like that ever since and it's great.”

With a team of just 40 developers (as of 2022), Nightdive has seemingly managed to succeed in a time and place where so many studios are under-performing or worse.

Of course, the studio is working with many popular and recognizable IPs, but even so, they could not have gotten there without proving their worth. It will be interesting to see how Nightdive expands and improves further over time.

The First Descendant x Nier: Automata announced

While we’ve yet to get a brand new console NieR game since 2017’s Automata, the IP has not been dormant, with countless games crossing over with Square Enix’s burgeoning franchise. Following on from the likes of Stellar Blade; Soul Calibur; Granblue Fantasy; Gravity Rush and many more, series favourites 2B and A2 are now coming to The First Descendant.

During their PAX East panel, the team at Nexon Games officially detailed many of the changes and additions coming with Season 3 of The First descendant.

Alongside new areas; a hover bike; social space; weapon categories and more, Season 3 will cross over with NieR: Automata, in what is the game’s first collaboration.

Descendant NieR Descendant NieR

Said to be offering cosmetic items, the crossover has only had sparring details revealed, with producer Beomjun Lee stating during the panel “the collaboration will focus on decorations, as we are in the process of solidifying the substance of our game, we decided to invest more in the content of Season 3 rather than other content related to the NieR: Automata collaboration.”

In what is perhaps an attempt to bolster eyes on The First Descendant (which has struggled to remain relevant past its initial launch), the crossover will also include a damaged version of 2B’s skin, which according to Lee will feature “no skirt, with other motions and decorations as well.”

Further details on the crossover will arrive at some point “soon” alongside an official trailer. The full list of changes and additions coming with Season 3 can be found HERE.

Switch 2 will include a new battery preservation feature

In the month following the official Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, we’ve gotten a drip feed of new details surrounding the upcoming system. While far from a game changer, the Switch 2 is set to include a much-welcome battery preservation feature – similar to that seen on other mobile devices.

Taking to their recently-released Nintendo Today app, the Switch maker offered a small titbit of new information on one of the Switch 2’s features. Listed as ‘Battery Charging Settings’, this feature allows you to choose to limit the device’s charging to 90% capacity in efforts to extend the system’s battery life over the long-term.

While certainly an appreciated feature, there remains concerns around the Switch 2’s total battery life even at 100% capacity – with the system stated to last between 2-6.5 hours.

Battery Switch 2

For context, the original Nintendo Switch had a battery life of between 2.5-6.5 hours. This was then boosted to 4.5-9 hours with the refreshed base model as well as the OLED variant; marking a notable improvement over the original model and even more so the upcoming Switch 2.

As with the OG Switch, it’s possible that Nintendo might release a refreshed model with a more efficient chip leading to improved battery life. Until then however, if you are primarily a handheld player, you might want to keep this option disabled.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this new feature? How useful will it be for you? Do you play Switch 1 more in handheld or TV mode? Let us know down below.

Apple's Messages app won't send audio messages with an ampersand

The ampersand seems to be a bit of a problem for the iOS Messages app, as the application can't transcribe voice and send messages of popular names containing the character.

There have been some interesting, and sometimes unfortunate, bugs with Apple's Messages and text-to-speech functions. The latest is a bit odd, but mostly affects names with a specific special character.

Some users may face difficulties stating names of specific brands, such as Ben & Jerry's, Dolce & Gabbana, Tiffany & Co., and so on, via Messages. Users who've tried to send voice messages with such brand names and phrases say their messages won't go through at all. The voice message will appear on the sender's phone, but not on the recipient's device.

The iPhone maker's move doesn't come as much of a surprise, however, as references to the change were discovered back in March 2025. Specifically, the third developer beta of iOS 18.4 contained text strings that effectively urged users to upgrade to the latest Apple Home architecture.

Though it was buried within the operating system, the text would've informed users of the need to "update now to avoid interruptions," as support for the older Apple Home architecture was going to "end soon."

The economically catastrophic and seemingly random tariff wars reached a new milestone on Monday as the Trump administration announced a new tariff deal with China. While Apple was exempt from much of the tariffs for now, it was still set to take a $900 million hit in the June quarter — which now may have been lessened.

According to a report from CNBC, President Trump said he spoke with Apple CEO Tim Cook on the phone after announcing the changes to the tariffs in China. He didn't share details of the conversation, only that Cook will "even up his numbers."

According to sources of Bloomberg on Monday, Apple is preparing to introduce a new artificial intelligence feature in iOS 19. That feature will be an update to the battery management system of iOS to work based on a user's usage habits.

The proposed system will monitor the way that the user actually uses the iPhone, and use that as a basis for power management decisions. This can include making setting or configuration changes to conserve energy at certain times.

iOS 18.5 contains more than 30 different security fixes.

On Monday, after a series of developer betas and a release candidate build, Apple finally launched iOS 18.5 to the general public. Though the update contains quality-of-life improvements for the Mail and Settings apps, along with a new Pride Harmony wallpaper, the software also patches multiple vulnerabilities.

While previous iOS updates, such as iOS 18.3 and iOS 18.4.1, patched actively exploited vulnerabilities, this is not the case with iOS 18.5. Still, Monday's software update addresses core security issues related to different aspects of the iPhone operating system.

The updates — macOS Ventura 13.7.6 (22H625), macOS Sonoma 14.7.6 (23H626), and iPadOS 17.7.7 — rolled out on May 12. While newer devices have already moved on to macOS Sequoia and iPadOS 18, these updates focus on users still running earlier versions due to hardware compatibility or enterprise support policies.

Apple's macOS Ventura remains available for Intel Macs such as the 2017 iMac and 2018 Mac mini, while Sonoma supports a broader range of Apple Silicon devices in addition to late-model Intel systems. The iPadOS 17.7.7 update is available for devices like the iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2nd generation, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, and iPad 6th generation.
