Bose Has a Better Price on the QuietComfort Ultra Noise Canceling Headphones Than Amazon for Prime Day

If you're looking for the best price on a pair of Bose's flagship noise canceling headphones, surprisingly it won't be an Amazon Prime Day deal. Right now, Bose via eBay is offering the certified refurbished Bose QuietComfort Ultra Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones for just $263.20 after you apply a 20% off coupon code "JULYFINDS" in your shopping cart. As a comparison, a brand new pair would run you $429. You'd be saving 40% off the retail price and you even get an extended 2 year All-State warranty. The Ultra is Bose's latest and greatest noise cancelling headphone and goes toe-to-toe with Sony's equally expensive Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones for $263.20

Factory refurbished with 2-year extended warranty

The QuietComfort Ultra is Bose's newest noise-cancelling headphone, released in late 2023. It is a significant upgrade over the standard QuietComfort headphones in audio and noise-cancelling performance and is easily comparable to other current heavyweights like the Sony WH-1000XM5/XM6 and the AirPods Max. The Ultra features redesigned ear cushions that are both more comfortable and provide a more secure seal, resulting in better passive noise isolation. It also supports spatial audio for better immersion, and it's updated with the new Bluetooth 5.3 protocol. Android users can rejoice in the fact that the Ultra supports Snapdragon Sound, a feature that offers optimized sound quality, connection stability, and latency for your streaming audio when the headphone is connected to an Android device.

Other features include an "Aware" mode that picks up ambient noises and amplifies them so that you can listen in on the outside world without having to take off your headphones, a respectable 24 hours of battery life on a single charge, an updated USB Type-C port, Bluetooth multipoint for simultaneous pairing with up to two devices, and a dual-hinge design that enables the headphones to fold up and flat for easier portability,

Looking for more alternatives? Although I don't think there will be a better deal for these specific headphones, there will certainly be other brands and models on sale during Amazon Prime Day. If you prefer to wait and see, in the meantime check out our favorite noise-cancelling headphones of 2024 or, if you want to stick with the Bose brand, see which Bose headphone or earbud is right for you.

The Complete Legend of Zelda Animated Series Is Super Cheap for Prime Day

Prime Day ends this Friday, July 11, but you can still grab a ton of physical media as part of their buy 2, get 1 free deal. There are dozens of movies and TV box sets to choose from, and the Legend of Zelda Complete Series animated show on DVD is a must-have for both die-hard Zelda fans and fans of s-bad-it's-good 80's cartoons. You can pick this up for $11.32, which is 43% off its list price of $19.98. If you clip the attached coupon, you can take an additional 10% off.

If you're looking for more deals like this, I've also rounded up all of the Zelda gifts and games currently on sale for Prime Day.

The Legend of Zelda - The Complete Series (DVD) Is on Sale During Prime Day

This DVD (yes, DVD. Unfortunately this isn't available on Blu-ray) collects all 13 episodes of the show, which adds up to a combined three hours and 41 minutes of campy cartoon goodness. The story follows our hero Link and the titular Princess Zelda as they defend the kingdom of Hyrule from the evil Ganondorf.

There are no special features, behind the scenes, or commentary, an everything comes on one disc. It's barebones by today's standards, but owning a piece of Legend of Zelda and cartoon history makes it worth it. The new low price doesn't hurt, either. The box art is great, showing Link and Zelda sporting their older designs that older fans are familiar with, and the spine looks great on a shelf despite the fact DVD boxes are taller than Blu-rays.

More TV Shows and Movies Are Buy 2, Get 1 Free During Prime Day

The buy 2, get 1 free promotion during Prime Day is a great way to catch up on your movie backlog and fill some empty space in your physical media collection. You don't need to have a Prime membership like most of the other Prime Day deals, and all you have to do is add three qualifying items to your cart and Amazon will remove the cost of the lowest value.

Live-Action Solo Leveling Series Starring Byeon Woo-seok in the Works at Netflix

Netflix is doubling down on its anime endeavors with a live-action Solo Leveling series featuring Lovely Runner star Byeon Woo-seok.

The streaming mega company announced plans to develop a show based on the popular fantasy anime series with a post on its website today. Woo-seok will portray lead character Sung Jin-woo in Netflix’s live-action Solo Leveling show, though additional casting details have yet to be revealed.

“Solo Leveling follows Sung Jin-woo, an E-rank Hunter – the lowest tier – who gains extraordinary abilities after a near-death experience,” a description from the company says. “As he levels up, he becomes humanity’s unexpected hope, defending against monstrous threats emerging from beyond the mysterious Gates.”

Netflix is staying quiet when it comes to plot information for now. However, the company does promise that fans can expect “vivid characters, dynamic action sequences, and exhilarating quests, brought to life by a world-class global VFX team.” It’s a project that Netflix is particularly confident in, boasting that the live-action Solo Leveling series will set “a new standard for live-action adaptations.”

Solo Leveling got its start on KakaoPage as a Korean digital comic from author Chugong in 2016 and has since accumulated more than 14.3 billion views across the globe. It evolved into a completely new beast with the introduction of its anime adaptation in early 2024, going on to earn numerous awards as fans flocked to check out its video game-inspired universe.

Solo Leveling was selected as the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards' Anime of the Year. pic.twitter.com/mNbCuk91PP

— IGN (@IGN) May 26, 2025

Netflix’s Solo Leveling will be co-directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, who previously worked together on projects like Castaway on the Moon and Ashfall. Kakao Entertainment and Sanai Pictures will produce the series. Netflix says Woo-seok – who has made a name for himself in the last decade with projects like Soulmate, 20th Century Girl, and When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon – will “deliver an unforgettable portrayal of Jin-woo’s evolution.”

Netflix has not announced a release date for its new Solo Leveling series, but it’s probably safe to expect that it won’t be out for a while. In the meantime, you can read up on how more than half of all Netflix subscribers watch at least some anime. You can also check out our Solo Leveling Season 1 8/10 review here, and our Solo Leveling Season 2 premiere review here.

Save 20% Off the LEGO Super Mario Mighty Bowser for Prime Day (The Biggest LEGO x Nintendo Set)

Both LEGO aficionados and Nintendo fans should check out this new deal that just popped up at Walmart. The imposing LEGO Super Mario The Mighty Bowser 71411 set is currently on sale for $219. As of this moment, this deal is exclusive to Walmart and doesn't seem to be an official part of Prime Day (it's still $270 on Amazon). The Mighty Bowser has been in production since October of 2022, so this set is expected to be retired within the next year.

20% Off the LEGO Super Mario The Mighty Bowser 71411

The Mighty Bowswer is still the largest LEGO x Nintendo collaboration with a total of 2,807 brick pieces. The finished build measures 16 inches wide and 12.5 inches tall. Kevin Wong built this actual set and loved it. It's both scary and adorable at the same time. It treats adult LEGO builders to a challenging build with advanced techniques and yet it is also durable enough to be interacted with, without fear of limbs falling apart. It brings out the best of both LEGO and Nintendo. Kevin wrote that "It is as perfect a merging as one could have hoped for. Ideally, this would be the first in a series of 'third path' sets that will recreate the gameplay and characters from our childhoods. And not just for Mario either. What about Zelda? Or Metroid? Or Pokemon? The possibilities are endless."

More LEGO Sets on Sale for Prime Day

Mighty Bowser isn't the only set currently on sale for Amazon Prime Day. Check out these other adult-themed sets from Walmart, Amazon, and even the LEGO Shop, including the Milk Way Galaxy, the LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR Motorcycle or the LEGO Icons Land Rover Classic Defender 90, which is expected to be retired later this year.

The Azul Board Game Deal for Prime Day Is an Easy Recommendation to Make

One of the standouts during this year’s Prime Day sale has been board games, and one of the best is Azul from Asmodee, on sale for $20.99 and is part of the limited time offer where if you spend $40 you save $10 off your order too. With colorful mosaic tiles, 2-4 players take turns picking out designs that will fill out spaces on their board to earn points. It’s one of those games that fits the “easy to learn, tough to master” category, and is one of my favorite games to introduce to folks that are both new to the board gaming hobby and also to those that already have a sizable collection themselves.

Azul Board Game Deals at Amazon Today

With its colorful plastic tiles, playing a game of Azul looks as lovely looking as it is to play, and thanks to its alternate versions (also on sale), you can pick whatever theme speaks more to you and your game group. Is stained glass more your style? Then maybe Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra and its window panes may be for you, or Azul: Summer Pavilion if bright summery tiles are more alluring to you. Each version may have slight tweaks or additional mechanics to it, but the core game system is similar regardless of the version you get.

Summertime makes me think of spending time outside with friends and family, whether at the park, a beach, or enjoying a cold one at a local brewery, and Azul is the perfect game to take with you and set up on a warm summer evening. Set up takes minutes, and games only take about half an hour. Look no further than Azul if you’re looking for a chill new game to play with your friends.

For a complete look at what different versions and expansions there are, make sure to check out our Azul buying guide for all that info. We've also reviewed this board game if you want a more in-depth look at gameplay.

Walmart Has Some Better Deals Than Amazon for Prime Day This Year

Walmart has kicked off its massive (if forgettably named) Walmart Deals sale. The sale runs between now and July 13, dropping prices on pretty much everything. The sale is timed to coincide with Amazon’s Prime Day 2025, but it lasts longer and has even lower prices on some items. Let’s take a look.

Walmart+ Memberships Are 50% Off

One of the best deals available is Walmart+. Between now and July 15, you can save 50% off an annual Walmart+ membership (sign up here). That gets you a whole bunch of benefits: early access to some sales, a free Paramount+ subscription, 25% off at Burger King, free shipping with no minimum purchase, free delivery from your local Walmart store, and more. Alternatively, if you’ve never used a Walmart+ free trial, you can opt out of the offer and get a one-month subscription for free.

Apple Products on Sale

During any big sale like this, Apple products are always among the most popular items among readers. Personally, I’m fully enmeshed in the Apple ecosystem, so I don’t blame anyone. Apple makes great products, and many of them are currently available at all-time low prices. That’s just smart shopping. You can score a great deal now on AirPods, Apple Watch, and even an M1-powered MacBook Air that is still a great buy (I’m typing these words on that exact laptop, and I still love it).

4K TV Deals

There are two great times to buy a TV. One is during Prime Day/Black Friday in July. The other is the actual Black Friday in November. Since November’s several months away, you might as well pick up a new TV now. Walmart has especially good prices on budget 4K TVs. You may not want to play a PS5 on them, but they’ll work just fine as a second (or third) TV.

Video Game Deals

With inflation and tariff-induced price hikes, video games, consoles, and accessories have been going up in price rather than down. Which makes buying things on sale almost necessary to avoid paying, say, $90 for a Switch 2 Pro Controller (give me a break, jeez). Walmart’s sale has great prices on Xbox Series S, PS5 DualSense controllers, and games.

School Supply Deals

It'll be back to school before you know it. If you have kids who need supplies, now's a good time to stock up. A box of crayons is $0.50. A box of markers is $0.97. Can't beat that.

Even More Misc. Deals

A whole lot more deals are available in Walmart's Deals sale. You can save on shelving units for your garage, pantry, or basement. You can save a bunch on queen bed sheets and men's athletic shorts. You can even save on a portable air conditioner. For way more items, you can check out the full sale here.

Prime Day's Best PlayStation Deals are at Amazon Resale

The second day of Amazon Prime Day is here, and with the dust settled, you might be digging to find the best video game deals you can. While there are some decent Nintendo Switch deals out there, the best deals for Prime Day are mostly PlayStation-related. You can find deals on new products, but we've found that the best discounts are under Amazon Resale this year. This line of products is returned and in "Like New" condition, meaning that they're as close to new as can be. Each item is inspected by Amazon, so no need to worry about receiving something faulty. Whether you're in the market for a PlayStation 5 console, accessories, or even games, there are a ton of great deals available right now on Amazon Resale.

PlayStation Prime Day Deals at Amazon Resale

By far, the most popular deal of the bunch is a like-new PlayStation Portal for only $124.12. That's $75 off the MSRP, and we rarely ever see the Portal dip below $199. The PS Portal is an excellent device if you're someone who wishes to play your PS5 games without sitting in front of the TV, as the device uses Wi-Fi to stream your games to the handheld. Since it's only streamed content, the Portal itself actually has decent battery life. Additionally, the device uses the same technology found in the DualSense controller, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and more. You can also save quite a bit on a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition bundled with Astro Bot, which is the ultimate starter's kit if you're new to the world of PlayStation.

Of course, there are also numerous PlayStation 5 games on sale too, but keep in mind that you will need a Disc Drive or Physical Edition console to play these games. Some of the best deals we've seen so far include Monster Hunter Wilds for $38.31, Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition for $34.64, and Metaphor: ReFantazio for $27.71. Each of these games will come in their original case, so no need to worry about receiving just the disc.

Who Is the Best Superman Actor?

In the pantheon of American culture, there’s no character more globally recognizable than Superman. After making his comic debut in 1938, Clark Kent quickly jumped to radio, television, the movies, and beyond, practically in a single bound. For almost 90 years, he’s been a symbol of goodness, and the prototype for the modern superhero. He’s also changed and evolved through decades of storytelling while a host of actors have portrayed the Man of Steel on screen, begging the question, who has played Superman best?

Superman first made it to the real world at the World’s Fair in 1940, when actor Ray Middleton became the first person to play him for a Superman Day celebration. For as long as there’s been a Superman, he’s had a simple formula: A cape, tights, boots, the iconic ‘S’ and those strongman trunks—which would eventually become optional. But more importantly, the character arrived fully formed and bloomed during World War II, as a paragon of truth and justice with a colorful supporting cast. As an alien raised by a kindly midwestern couple, Superman is all about going above and beyond to do the right thing, and the actors who’ve played him have captured that ethos to different degrees.

With apologies to Ray Middleton and in-person Supermen everywhere, for this ranking, we’re focusing on the lead actors of major live action movies and TV shows. We’re also limiting it to the character of SuperMAN, so that means no younger versions of the character, and no shows titled Superboy—sorry Joaquin Phoenix—and it also means no video games or cartoons either, otherwise we’d be here all day. We’re also limiting this list to official adaptations, so no unlicensed Turkish Superman Returns, or the many versions out of India, which could fill up their own piece. However, we will have a couple of honorable mentions along the way, who don’t quite fit the criteria, but we couldn’t have this conversation without ‘em.

The question of “What makes a great Man of Steel?” is a tough one, but the answer usually comes down to two broad categories: the actors themselves, and the story or adaptation they’re a part of. So, with that in mind, take our hand, and join us as we countdown from the actors we think missed the mark all the way to the definitive Superman.

9. Dean Cain

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993-1997)

Superman has been played by a number of great performers, but we’d be lying if we said he was a hit every single time. Lois & Clark ran for four seasons in the early ‘90s, and while it combined romance and journalism with villains of the week, it was also entirely of its era: which is to say, the era of Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place. On the surface, it has all the elements of a Superman story, but it seemed far more interested in creating a new ‘90s heart throb than a Man of Steel, down to the character’s hairstyle.

As Superman, Dean Cain has an unfortunately limited range, with occasionally stilted delivery. He says all the right things — “I like your costume”/“Thank you, my mother made it for me”/“Who are you?”/“A friend” — but whether or not he’s convincing is another matter. A defining trait of a good Superman performance is the distinction between Superman and Clark Kent, and while Cain technically has that, it’s not exactly a performance concerned with fidelity. His Clark Kent is… suave, and fast-talking, and occasionally charming, while his Superman is… straightforward, and stern, but without much depth or authority, and there’s something awkward about his stature, like he’s never quite comfortable in the suit, almost like the two personas are flipped.

Cain’s version of Clark says he wants to fit in, but there’s really nothing stopping him from being a normal guy—at least by the standards of ‘90s TV dramas. In these moments of attempted emotion, the music tends to do the heavy lifting. Lois & Clark isn’t a terrible show by any stretch—in fact, Terri Hatcher makes for an ambitious and accomplished Lois Lane—but when it comes to portraying the Man of Steel, it doesn’t really live up to what came before it, despite Cain claiming to have based his version of Clark on our next entry…

8. George Reeves

Superman and the Mole Men (1951), Adventures of Superman (1952-1958)

The most famous of the early Supermen, George Reeves (no relation to Christopher Reeve) played the character for nearly a decade—across the B-movie Superman and the Mole Men, and the long-running TV series Adventures of Superman—but maybe Dean Cain should have sought inspiration for his Clark Kent elsewhere. Reeves was an accomplished actor, having appeared in Best Picture winner Gone With the Wind, but his version of Clark wasn’t particularly different from his Superman, despite the show’s opening narration. “Superman, who can change the course of mighty rivers, bend steel in his bare hands, and who, disguised as Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper.”

But when it comes to Superman, Reeves—who was 38 when he first played the part—was exactly what the series called for. He was an older, barrel-chested actor in the vein of Western superstar and American myth-maker John Wayne, and his iconic stature still remains a part of the character’s appearance today, like when he’s drawn by comic artist Alex Ross.

The series began when the U.S. had rising tensions with the USSR, so part of its mission was to instill a sense of patriotism in its viewers. It was the first version of the character to include the now iconic “the american way” part of Superman’s pledge to fight for “truth and justice,” and there was also a move by the U.S. Treasury Department to get Superman to convince people to invest in stamps and savings bonds. For better or worse, these government efforts weren’t usually reflected in the overall plot, except for one episode. The series mostly saw Superman tackling regular, everyday criminals—a far cry from the wacky, silver age antics in the comics at the time—while the movie, which was folded into the show, revolved around Superman trying to stop people from discriminating against subterranean beings with a calm sense of authority.

The show’s decade-long run happened at a significant time. It saw the character transition to color, and it helped cause an explosion in mainstream popularity, with the Man of Steel even crossing over with I Love Lucy. For several generations, Reeves was the definitive Superman, a role he played well into his forties, until his tragic demise… which brings us to our first honorable mention.

Honorable Mention: Ben Affleck

As George Reeves in Hollywoodland (2006)

To date, no actor has played both Batman and Superman, but Ben Affleck comes close, since he actually played George Reeves in the 2006 mystery movie Hollywoodland, which treats the actor’s possible suicide as a murder. Despite his unhappiness with the role at times, Reeves often stayed in character as the Man of Steel, especially around children, which is something Affleck’s version of the beloved actor gets absolutely right.

Something must have been in the water in 2006, because Hollywoodland wasn’t the only movie that year filled with nostalgia for an older Superman…

7. Brandon Routh

Superman Returns (2006), The CW’s Arrowverse (2019-2020)

Made as an homage to the Richard Donner original, Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns sees the Man of Steel returning to the big screen after a 22 year absence, in a story where he comes back to Earth after 5 years away. Now, whether Brandon Routh is playing the same version as Christopher Reeve is up to your interpretation, but there’s no avoiding the comparisons, given Reeve’s influence on the character—more on that in a bit.

Routh has an incredible gentleness about him, and he embodies both the wistful farmboy and the “mild mannered reporter” part of Clark Kent to a tee, bumbling his way through scenes in a way that both feels like an act, and like he’s channeling who Clark truly is. As Superman, he has this otherworldly quality to him that makes him truly feel like an alien removed from humanity—but maybe that doesn’t quite suit this interpretation.

It’s wonderful to see him perform feats of strength, but his lumbering appearance might be a little too polished, between the sleek suit, his perfectly curled lock of hair, and the blue contacts that give Routh an uncanny appearance, like he’s a Superman action figure. It’s a movie that has nothing but nostalgia for Reeve, and just two years after the legendary actor died, you can feel the sense of yearning for a big-screen Superman, though Singer’s romantic version is usually a little too outstretched, with long periods of nothing really happening, and neither Lois Lane nor Lex Luthor actually coming face to face with the Man of Steel until past the hour mark and nearly two hours in, respectively. Routh would briefly reprise the role in The CW’s Infinite Crisis, a crossover between five of its ongoing shows, which made for a nice reminder of how well suited he could have been, in a better movie.

But, while Warner Brothers may not have had a hit with its new big screen Superman, there was actually another Superman flying around—well, running around—on TV at the same time.

6. Tom Welling

Smallville (2001-2011)

We’re sort of bending the rules a bit to include him, but Tom Welling played a younger version of the Man of Steel for ten years on Smallville, in the longest build up to a costume change in recorded history—and since he technically became Superman, it has to count. Like Lois & Clark, the show fit right into the TV landscape of its time, coming off teen dramas like Dawson’s Creek, but also genre shows like Buffy and Angel, which allowed it to embrace the more sci-fi and fantasy parts of the Superman mythos.

Despite being 24, Welling fit right in as a moody, sensitive highschooler trying to find his place in the world, while fearing how he might bring harm to those around him. He was slightly awkward, and kind of angry, but mostly well-meaning, as he became the secret vigilante The Blur, before his eventual transformation in the final episode. Also, it must be said that Smallville has what might be the best on-screen version of Lex Luthor, in the form of Michael Rosebaum. The show featured a number of recognizable Superman characters—Jimmy, Lana, Lois, and of course, a cloud version of Darkseid, as was the style at the time—but it’s actually Clark’s dynamic with Lex that forms the show’s emotional backbone, as a kind of yin and yang, who both save each other in the pilot episode—from certain death, and obvious Christ imagery, respectively.

Welling’s withheld version of Clark worked, up to a point, in a story about a young man hiding from the world, and he also got to flex his dramatic chops on occasion. But apart from a few hints of developing the “mild mannered” reporter persona, Welling’s Clark doesn’t change all that much over the show’s 10 year period, which might usually work for a fully-formed Man of Steel, but makes him a little less interesting in an extended origin.

On the other hand, a more modern interpretation dived right in to Superman’s story just a few years later, and came achingly close to getting it right:

5. Henry Cavill

Man of Steel (2013), Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Justice League (2017)

You can debate endlessly about whether a dour adaptation of Superman is the way to go, but there was a lot riding on Henry Cavill as The Man of Steel in a post-Avengers world, with DC looking to set up its own Marvel-style universe. It didn’t exactly pan out, but Cavill himself flirted with being a great choice for the iconic character. There’s a lot of noise in Man of Steel—a lot of chaos and a lot of scowls, but in the midst of it all, Cavill’s Superman has hints of a calming presence, making him the kind of superhero that fits Zack Snyder’s “benevolent god” interpretation.

That interpretation gets a bit literal at times, and can lean a bit too heavily on the angry Greek deity side of things, as well as some overt Christ imagery, but there’s probably some version of Cavill’s Superman that works perfectly in a different take on the DC mythology that isn’t bogged down by nihilism.

The sequel, Batman v Superman, would double down on the misery, presenting a drone-strike version Superman who doesn’t seem particularly happy about helping people—that is, when he would help people at all—but the bigger problem is that his Superman ends up so full of rage that even the movie’s nightmare scenes, and the character’s eventual, mindless resurrection in Justice League, don’t end up all that different from his usually scowling default setting.

While we don’t ever really see a Clark Kent that’s any different from his Man of Steel, we do eventually get hints of what a bright, sunny Superman played by Cavill might have looked like. But by the time he shows up, three movies deep, it’s a little too late for this version, despite the last-minute attempt to go back to the character’s roots…

4. Kirk Alyn

Superman (1948), Atom Man vs. Superman (1950)

Most people might not have heard of Kirk Alyn, but his 1948 theatrical serial (and its 1950 sequel) were pivotal to getting Superman to the silver screen in live action form. The first flesh-and-blood actor to play him at the movies, Alyn nails the mild-mannered reporter aspect of Clark Kent right from his first scene with the character’s parents, and he even embodies Superman’s powers—like X-ray vision and super hearing—in delightfully silly ways.

Much like George Reeves, Alyn’s Superman usually goes up against more grounded villains, who he defeats by bonking their heads together. There’s also a clear difference between his Clark and his Superman—who’s often animated by hand when he flies—and while his pantomime physical performance may not be what we’d expect in the modern era, Alyn’s impishness, enthusiasm and graceful exaggerations create a Superman who delights in leaping out of windows, and in maintaining the ruse of a man with a double life—a man who changes in the Daily’s Planet’s filing room multiple times per episode.

But what’s especially fascinating about Alyn’s works is how perfectly he nails the character’s vocal transformation, even during a single line: “This looks like a job FOR SUPERMAN.”

It’s an underrated aspect of the character, and very few live-action actors actually nailed it to the degree that Alyn did. In fact, the only early Superman to outdo him is our next honorable mention:

Honorable Mention: Bud Collyer

The Adventures of Superman radio show (1940-1951), Fleischer Studios’ Superman (1941-1942), The New Adventures of Superman (1966-1970)

We’re sticking with live-action performers for the official list, but there’s no way to talk about early Superman without discussing voice actor Bud Collyer. He was the first actor to give Superman a voice, in his very first non-comic adaptation, the decade-long radio serial The Adventures of Superman (which began in 1941), and he also voiced the Man of Steel in not only the nine iconic cartoon episodes of Fleischer Studios’ Superman, produced between 1941 and ‘42, but the New Adventures of Superman, which ran for 4 seasons until 1970.

As the voice behind Superman and Clark Kent for 30 years, he’s a vital part of the character’s history, even though we can’t technically give him a slot here. But his influence can be felt all across our top 3 entries…

3. David Corenswet

Superman (2025)

As the newest Superman on our list, there’s still plenty of time for David Corenswet to rise or fall in our rankings, but we feel pretty confident with what we’ve seen. James Gunn’s Superman flies by a little too quickly to really dive into the character, but in every single scene, Corenswet gives us hints of a fully-formed Clark-slash-Superman three years into his public career.

He’s a fast-talking, “aw, shucks” kind of guy who exudes a lovable energy, and while we haven’t spent enough time with his awkward, good-natured Clark Kent just yet, the actor slips effortlessly into both modes: mild-mannered, and Man of Steel.

He’s vulnerable, and he has a sense of humor and one of his defining traits is that he’s a dog person. Very few adaptations outside of the cartoons have really touched on this part of him, but it makes perfect sense, since Superman is kind of what you’d get if you turned a golden retriever into a person, at least earlier in his career.

But there’s really only one live-action version that’s explored what Superman’s life would be if he’d stuck around for a long time…

2. Tyler Hoechlin

The CW’s Arrowverse (2016-2020), Superman & Lois (2021-2024)

Right from his first scenes in The CW’s Supergirl, Tyler Hoechlin nails the mood and mannerisms of both sides of the Man of Steel, but it’s really his own series, Superman & Lois—a show full of gumshoe journalism—that allows him to truly shine.

The series doesn’t cross over with the others in the Arrow-verse, but it uses the classic iconography of Superman to present a new take on Smallville, as a contemporary American town suffering a post-recession economic downturn, making it the perfect modern update. Superman and Lois Lane have teenage sons, and when they move from Metropolis back to Kansas, Clark starts bearing the brunt of living a double life, and gradually reveals himself to his neighbors over the course of four seasons.

All the while, the show tells the story of Superman learning and at times struggling to be a good father, something the comics have focused on a lot in recent years. Along the way, the character is shown to be worldly, a protector of the vulnerable and innocent, and someone trustworthy on the surface, but he struggles with living up to this ideal, since his secret identity involves lying to those around him.

Despite its villain-of-the-week structure, what makes Superman & Lois work is its focus on friends and family, which it frames as Superman’s biggest strength. Well, that and punching of course. Hoechlin has a righteous anger, and as a father, he’s stern, but never cruel. Ultimately, he’s a jovial, loving and forgiving person who struggles with what it means to love, and to be mortal—but without losing sight of his humanity in the process.

This humanity is what makes Superman who he is, and the various actors who’ve played him across the decades have all understood that to varying degrees. But there’s one person who stands head and shoulders above them all, as history’s definitive Superman, and the gold standard for the big-screen superhero…

1. Christopher Reeve

Superman: The Movie (1978), Superman II (1980), Superman III (1983), Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1984)

Richard Donner’s Superman: The Movie added a lot to what we think of as Superman’s story, from his iconicthe ‘S’ logo being the crest ofof the House of El, to the ice crystal versiony of fortress of solitude seen in nearly every adaptation since. But more than any of that, it was the perfect balance that Reeve struck between a bumbling, warmhearted, vulnerable Clark Kent, and a firm but welcoming—and slightly flirtatious—Man of Steel. Even the way he differentiates Clark and Superman’s postures ended up becoming part of some of the character’s most iconic comic moments.

Reeve was an incredible actor, but a huge part of the film’s success also rests on Margot Kidder as the ideal Lois Lane. She’s the perfect, strong-headed foil to Reeve’s timid Clark. People may be nostalgic about the film today, but Superman: The Movie was already filled with nostalgia by the time it came out in 1978. The Lois-Clark dynamic is a perfect throwback to screwball comedies from Hollywood’s golden age, and its folksy, Norman Rockwell Smallville was a fantasy of some lost American virtue that—whether or not it truly existed—was fully captured by Superman himself, even in the series later, goofy entries.

Reeve embodied the character both on and off-screen, with his disability activism in later years, but his performance is arguably the reason there are still superhero movies today, with each one of them trying to live up to the unquantifiable magic he brought to the screen—the kind that could make you believe a man can fly. Which is why he takes the top spot in our search for the definitive Superman. He was one of a kind.

But what do you think? Vote in our poll and let's discuss in the comments! And be sure to check out our ranking of the Superman movies too.

Save 30% Off Manscaped Most Popular Men's Shavers During the Amazon Prime Day Sale

Manscaped is a well-known boutique retailer of men's haircare products, with a great name to boot. Right now, most Manscaped men's shavers are 30% off during Amazon's Prime Day Sale event. Although general purpose foil shavers like the Chairman Pro and Chairman Plus can serve all of your needs, Manscaped sells several different types of shaver, trimmer, or groomer to cater to specific areas of your body. Need to trim those pesky nose hairs? Get the Weed Wacker? Want to shave down that groin area? The Lawn Mower is what you're looking for. Want to sculpt that beard to perfection? Go with the Beard Hedger. There's something for everyone.

Manscaped Shavers on Sale for Amazon Prime Day

The Chairman Plus at Manscaped (Waterproof)

Manscaped's Chairman is its bread-and-butter electric foil shaver and it comes in two variants. The Chairman "Plus" is the more affordable model, coming in at $69.99. It features three easy-glide stainless steel FlexAdjust foils and a precision trimmer attachment. It's IPX7 waterproof rated so you can use it in the shower, and the magnetically attached head pops out for easy cleaning. The Chairman Plus can last up to 60 minutes from a single charge and a USB Type-C port means you won't fret over losing a proprietary cable.

The Chairman Pro at Manscaped

The Chairman "Pro" is pricier at $112, but it ups the ante with four stainless steel foils, a stubble trimmer attachment, an integrated LED spotlight for better visibility, and a longer 75 minutes of runtime. Like the Chairman Plus, wired charging is accomplished over USB Type-C, however the Chairman Pro also has the option for wireless charging.

The Beard Hedger by Manscaped

If you've got a seriously thick beard where a stubble trimmer just won't do, then check out The Beard Hedger. This shaver is designed for the double duty of shearing unkempt beards that have grown out for longer than you might have wanted to, and for finishing work. Features include a 41mm titanium coated blade, 7,200RPM DC motor, a zoom wheel with adjustments for up to 20 different length settings, IPX7 waterproof rating, and a 60-minute battery runtime.

The Handyman by Manscaped

The Handyman is a perfect take-along shaver. If you're traveling by plane, most electric shavers are TSA approved and can be brought along in carry-on luggage, but the Handyman makes it easier with its compact size. It has two blade heads: a leveler that takes care of long hair and a foil that shaves down the remaining stubble. The lithium-ion battery features a 60-minute runtime with a 5-minute quick charge option over USB Type-C. A handly little cover is included to protect the blades when not in use. Like Manscaped's other shavers, the Handyman is IPX7 waterproof rated.

The Dome Shaver at Manscaped

The Dome Shaver is Manscaped's answer to effortlessly maintaining a shaved head. The "Plus" model features four double-tack FlexAdjust blade heads with ultra-thin stainless steel foils and a powerful 8,000RPM motor. The ergonomic design makes it easy for self-use, and it is IPX7 rated waterproof so you can use it in the shower. A single charge will give you 60 minutes of runtime with USB Type-C charging. The premium "Pro" model is upgraded with five FlexAdjust blade heads, an even more powerful 9,500RPM motor, and a longer 90-minute runtime, all for about $35 more.

The Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra by Manscaped

Let's face it. Your face isn't the only part of your body that grows unwanted hair. Although you could get away with using a disposable razer, Manscaped makes it easier and less painful with the aptly named Lawn Mower. The Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra is the newest model in the series and its secret sauce is the dual interchangeable blade head design: a trimmer blade to take down long, thick hairs, and a foil blade to finish the job.

Pierce Brown's Epic Red Rising Sci-Fi Series Gets the Buy 2, Get 1 Free Treatment for Prime Day

Considering that Amazon started out as a company that sold books exclusively, it’s no surprise that during its big Prime Day sales event, there are some great deals that can be found on books. In addition to finding large discounts, there is also a “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” deal going on right now, and for fans of science fiction or even the Roman Empire, Pierce Brown’s Red Rising series a look.

The Red Rising Books Are Buy 2, Get 1 Free

This series is set in a future when mankind lives on the various moons and planets of our solar system, and society has been divided into a caste system of fourteen “Colors” that dictate a person’s role. The six current books follow Darrow, a Red Helldiver miner born on Mars, but through a series of events, he is put on a path that makes him the best chance at toppling the system that keeps him in place and maintains it.

What makes this special, aside from the complex characters, the historical influences of the Roman Empire, and brilliant writing, is how Brown manages to bring readers along on this oftentimes dark and morbid journey for societal change, while still maintaining hope for his cast. No matter how small that glimmer of hope may get. This series gets dark at times, dealing with unsettling topics and depictions of war and violence. It is not for the faint of heart, but it is worth reading.

Currently, this series is planned to comprise seven books, with six main novels, along with a prequel comic series and a board game. We have a full breakdown and reading guide available that provides further details on what to expect. With the available discounts and Buy 2, Get 1 deal going on, you can get the initial trilogy of books - Red Rising, Golden Sun, and Morning Star - for a great price. Hail Reaper.

Other Prime Day Book Deals

There are a ton of other great books on sale for Prime Day, many of which are included in the buy 2, get 1 free sale. Here is a sample of some of the best inclusions right now.

The Best Gaming Laptop Deals for Amazon Prime Day, From Budget to Best (Some Deals Are Impossibly Good)

If you figured Amazon Prime Day would be a good time of year to upgrade your gaming laptop, then you guessed correctly. Surprisingly however, Amazon isn't necessarily the best retailer with the best Prime Day gaming laptop deals. I've rounded up the best laptop deals I've seen so far and these include some pretty incredible price drops from the likes of HP (Omen), Dell (Alienware), and Walmart alongside Amazon. Frankly, some of these prices seem almost too good to be true, but rest assured all of these retailers are absolutely legitimate.

Alienware Aurora 16 RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop for $1,099.99

The best budget gaming laptop deal for Prime Day

As part of its Black Friday in July Sale, Dell has dropped the price of the Alienware Aurora 16 gaming laptop equipped with an GeForce RTX 5060 mobile GPU for just $1,099.99 with free delivery. That is a big $400 discount from its official launch price and currently the best deal I can find on an RTX 5060 equipped laptop from any brand and any retailer. If you're specifically looking for a gaming laptop at the $1,100 or below price point, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal during Prime Day. The RTX 5060 is about 15%-20% more powerful than the RTX 4060 that replaces, making it a perfectly capable GPU for most games at up to 1600p. It approaches the performance of the RTX 4070 and overtakes it in games that support DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation.

HP Omen Max 16" RTX 5080 Gaming Laptop for $1,640

HP's Black Friday in July sale is technically unaffiliated with Prime Day, but they do run concurrently. As part of this sale, you can pick up an HP Omen Max RTX 5080 laptop for a rock bottom price of $1,639.99 shipped after 20% off coupon code "LEVELUP20". It features a 16" 1920x200 display, Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU, RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The RTX 5080 mobile GPU is roughly 15%-20% more powerful than the RTX 4080 mobile GPU that it replaces. It also happens to be about 5% more powerful than the RTX 4090, which was the previous generation's flagship card. This GPU should be able to run new and upcoming games at high framerates. I would suggest upgrading the display to a 2560x1600 OLED panel for $190 (minus 20% off). The RTX 5080 GPU can definitely handle it.

HP Omen Max 16" RTX 5090 Gaming Laptop for $2,480

If for whatever reason an RTX 5080 GPU is not good enough for you, then HP has also discounted its Omen Max 16 RTX 5090 Gaming Laptop to just $2,479.99 shipped after you apply 20% off coupon code "LEVELUP20". That is easily best price for an RTX 5090 gaming laptop anywhere by well over $1,000, and that's being conservative. The RTX 5090 is currently the most powerful mobile GPU available with tons of VRAM and DLSS 4 support. In terms of raw performance, it's actually only about a 10% improvement over the RTX 5080. However, it does have considerably more VRAM (24GB vs 16GB), which is useful for creative professionals and anyone who uses generative AI.

Alienware Area-51: New Style, More Power, Better Cooling

New for 2025, the Area-51 is Alienware's highest end gaming laptop, which means it boasts the best build quality and the highest performance. It features an all-metal body with an magnesium alloy chassis and upgraded cooling to tackle the latest and greatest heat generating components, including more fans and bigger cutouts enabling greater airflow, generous use of copper, and a new thermal interface material to better transfer heat away from the core components. Dell claims that the laptop can handle a higher power ceiling of up to 240W TDP without raising acoustics.

Design-wise, the Area 51 accentuates its smooth contours, with rounded edges and soft corners replacing the squared off design you'd see in most other laptops. The hinges are also mostly internally positioned so that they're near invisible. As befits an Alienware laptop, there are ample customization options for RGB LED lighting.

Asus ROG Strix G16 Gaming Laptop Deals

Asus' new 2025 lineup of ROG Strix G16 laptops now feature the latest Intel Core Ultra Arrow Lake-S processors and Nvidia Blackwell GPUs. In terms of build quality, it is similar to its predecessors. The laptops are built with a plastic composite body and metal lid for durability and aesthetics. The cooling system keeps noise levels down during intense gaming and Asus uses liquid metal instead of standard thermal compound for heat transfer. The ROG Strix G16 can be equipped with up to an RTX 5080 GPU with an unthrottled 175W of TGP for maximum performance.

MSI Katana and Vector Gaming Laptop Deals

MSI's new lineups of Katana and Vector gaming laptops are also on sale for Prime Day. The Katana is the more entry-level of the two with an all-plastic chassis and a lower TGP rating on its GPUs. The Vector is a mid-range laptop with a metal lid and outer keyboard deck and a plastic composite bottom chassis. More importantly, the GPU in the Vector laptop is unthrottled for maximum performance, with the RTX 5070 Ti being supplied with 140W TGP.

MSI Thin RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop for $649

If you're looking for a capable gaming laptop at the lowest price possible, look no further than this Walmart deal for Prime Day. The MSI Thin is a 15" laptop equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS processor and RTX 4060 GPU for a mere $649. It's the least powerful laptop in this roundup, but it will still hold its own quite well in most games at the display's native 1080p resolution. And let's also not forget that it's also the least expensive laptop in this roundup by over $400.

I'm Getting All of My Favorite Anime on Blu-ray in Amazon's Prime Day Sales

It's not hard to find anime online, but some shows are so good (or hard to come by) they deserve a place on your shelf. You get the certainty of a lifetime of rewatches, plus Blu-rays typically come packed with bonus features. Either way, if you’re in the market for any physical media, this year’s Amazon Prime Day sale has got you covered.

Some of the deepest discounts are exclusive to Prime members, but plenty of DVDs are included in Amazon’s ongoing Buy 2, Get 1 Free promotion, which is available to anyone. You can scroll through everything included in that sale here. Otherwise, here are the best anime deals I've found so far:

Anime Box Sets and DVDs on Sale

These Prime Day deals include both individual seasons as well as full series box sets. I’ve highlighted the first season of each series for simplicity’s sake, but you can definitely find later seasons if the series has 'em in the sale.

To kick things off, naturally, we have the original Big Three. Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach are all discounted. From the previous generation, we have deals on the equally massive Dragon Ball Z, as well as '90s classics like Cowboy Bebop.

Nana and Death Note are both up there for me as the greatest anime of all time. (Well, at least the first half of Death Note.) Neither of them will make you particularly happy, but that's not always what entertainment is for.

Then we get to the modern era. Frieren, which was IGN’s pick as the best anime of 2024, is certainly a standout here. I’d recommend checking out The Apothecary Diaries, which IGN's review highlights as having a "charming, iron-willed protagonist." On the shonen side, one of the biggest discounts I've seen is on the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Honestly, I was able to find most of my favorite anime in the sale, with the unfortunate exception of the 1997 version of Berserk. You can still pick up the 2016 version on sale, but that’s far from the same thing. Anyhow, my point is I'd recommend doing some searching and scrolling for your top picks.

Anime Movie Deals

Things are a little lighter on the movie side. My top pick there is Akira. I mean, c’mon, can it get any better? You can also find Makoto Shinkai movies like Your Name, and because these are in fact the biggest franchises ever, plenty of Dragon Ball and One Piece movies. That includes the most recent release for the latter, One Piece Film: Red.

Plenty of Studio Ghibli movies are on sale, though not necessarily as part of the Prime Day discounts. Same goes for Satoshi Kon's Perfect Blue, one of my favorite movies of all time, in a limited edition steelbook that I've included above.

Amazon's Buy 2, Get 1 Free Vinyl Sale Is a Hidden Prime Day Gem

It’s one of the best times of the year to score deep discounts on just about everything. Amazon’s Prime Day is essentially Black Friday in July, bringing the best sales of 2025 so far. Rather than the two days Amazon has done in the past, Prime Day has been extended to four days, giving you two extra days to save. Like previous years, Amazon brought back its three-for-two vinyl deal. So, if you buy two albums, you can get a third for free. There are tons of albums to choose from in all music genres; no matter your taste, there’s something for you.

To score this deal, you must add three vinyls to your Amazon cart. Once you check out, you’ll notice that the total price of your lowest-priced album will be discounted from the order total. That means you’ll want to grab three similarly priced items to make the most of Amazon’s deal. It’s not just vinyls included in this promotion either, you can mix and match with CDs, books, and even 4K Blu-Rays.

After scrolling through page after page of the three-for-two vinyl promo on Amazon, I curated a collection of my favorites. However, I know everyone’s taste in music is pretty unique and personal. So, if my selections aren’t to your liking, be sure to check out the full sale for even more options.

Buy Two, Get One Free Vinyl at Amazon

I’m a massive music fan and spend a good deal of time blabbing on TikTok about music history, which focuses mainly on rock and pop music of the '60s and '70s. That means my music preferences generally skew towards those eras and genres. Still, I did my best to spice things up with a little variety, but again, you might want to scan the promo yourself to find something more to your taste.

If you're looking to grab a gift, it's hard to go wrong with the Beatles' Abbey Road. The final album to be recorded by the band (not released) is iconic, and it’s already been discounted, even before the promo. Sticking with classics, The Doors’ The Soft Parade 50th Anniversary Edition is a nice 180-gram album to grab while it’s on sale. Or maybe you're feeling nostalgic after Black Sabbath’s final show last weekend, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Limited Edition, is even a part of the three-for-two deal.

Now, for those looking for something a bit more modern, let's say early aughts and newer, I’ve found a few excellent albums on sale. Starting strong, Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE Deluxe Edition LP is a vinyl everyone should have in their collection. Tyler, the Creator, is another brilliant artist, and his sixth studio album, IGOR, is one of his best. Want some peaceful, dreamy comfort music? I’d recommend giving Bon Iver’s 22, A Million a listen — nothing relaxes me more than when I hear Justin Vernon get on the mic. If these picks aren’t your cup of tea, “I’m sorry I can’t be perfect.” Wise words from Simple Plan’s album No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, which is also part of the promo.

There are plenty of other top-tier vinyls that are part of the three-for-two promotion. But no matter which you choose, they all deliver that wonderful analog experience that can’t be replicated anywhere else. It’s hard to beat that ritual of flipping through albums, placing one on the platter, and waiting for the needle to drop. Just be sure you have a great record player to pair with your new vinyl; the last thing you want to do is damage it during its first spin.

Do you need to be a Prime Member to shop this sale?

This is one of the rare promotions for Prime Day that doesn’t require an Amazon Prime membership to enjoy the discount. There is a catch, though, as you’ll need to be prepared to pay for shipping, unless you spend a certain amount. Generally, free shipping kicks in automatically when you spend over $35, but orders may take longer to arrive.

Walmart Just Dropped the Best 4K-Ready Gaming PC Deal for Prime Day

Walmart just released the best price I've seen on a 4K-ready gaming PC and it beats out anything I've seen so far for Prime Day. Right now, you can get the iBuypower Element Pro prebuilt gaming PC equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X CPU and AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU for only $1499.99 with free delivery. The Radeon RX 9070 XT is an outstanding graphics card that can stand toe-to-toe with the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 4080. If you are keeping your budget to $1,500 or less, you won't find a more powerful gaming PC.

iBuypower Element Pro Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming PC for $1499

The iBuypower gaming PC is generously equipped across the board. It features an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X CPU, Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and 2TB M.2 SSD. The Ryzen 9 7900X processor has a max boost clock of 5.6GHz with 12 cores and 24 threads. This is an excellent CPU for both gaming and multitasking and you won't need to upgrade from it for a long time. It's cooled by a very robust 360mm all-in-one liquid cooling system and runs off an 850W power supply.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT Received a 10/10 at IGN

We rated the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT a "perfect" 10/10. Even though it costs $150 less than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, the 9070 XT beats it out in several of the games we tested. In a few benchmarks, the results aren't even close. The 9070 XT is also comparable in performance to the older $1,000 RX 7900 XTX but with better ray tracing and upscaling performance than its predecessor. It does lose out on VRAM (16GB vs 24GB), but that isn't really an issue for gaming. By "4K ready" I mean that this gaming PC can run pretty much any game at 4K resolution and at framerates of 60fps or higher. Any video card that's weaker and you'll have to compromise in order to get playable framerates.

WOBKEY's Rainy 75 Pro Has What Keyboard Enthusiasts Are Looking For

There's no denying that hardcore mechanical keyboard enthusiasts like building their own. For the rest of us, however, we'll spend that time to find a mechanical keyboard that already has as many features as we want, which we could just plug and play. Of course, that's assuming the same type of care is put into the choice of components and the overall build quality that an enthusiast would. Even better, if it's all done at a reasonable price point. The WOBKEY Rainy 75 Pro keyboard is one such enthusiast-style plank done right. With everything from gasket mounting to prelubed custom switches and an aluminum case, the Rainy 75 Pro's components and heavy build quality should satisfy even the most demanding keyboard heads. And of course, it doesn't hurt that it both looks great doing it and is offered at a fair price.

WOBKEY Rainy 75 Pro – Setup and Software

There are lots of options for customizing your Rainy 75 keyboard. The Lite models are $129 with no RGB lighting, a polypropylene (PP) plastic keyboard plate, gradient glass decorative back weight, a 3500mAh battery, and HMX Violet mechanical switches. The Standard models are $139 and have everything that the Lite offers, just with the addition of RGB lighting and a mirrored glass decorative back weight. The Pro models are $159 and feature RGB lighting, high-density FR4 fiberglass material for the keyboard plate, silver SUS304 stainless steel weight, a bigger 7000mAh battery, and JWK WOB or Kailh Cocoa switches.

What's also nice about the Rainy 75 lineup is that the CNC aluminum case is available in up to eight different colorways, with the Pro series having the most options – and the unit I'm reviewing the Pro in Electro Pink with Kailh Cocoa switches.

As the name implies, it uses the 75-key tenkeyless layout. Unlike the otherwise excellent MonsGeek FUN60 Ultra TMR I reviewed and its 60-key layout, 75 keys has far fewer omissions, letting you use function keys without the sometimes unwieldy combinations for standard actions like Delete. Instead, you have the actual Delete key and proper arrow keys.

This keyboard is absolutely fantastic as-is.

That's not to say that the Rainy 75 Pro has a large footprint either. At roughly 12.5 inches wide, 5.36 inches deep, and 1.38 inches high at the rear and highest point of its angled slope, the keyboard doesn't occupy much space. The distance from any keycap to the outer bezel of the case is only .33 inches.

While it is compact, it's not featherweight. Thanks to the aforementioned materials, my keyboard configuration weighs in at a beefy 4.3 pounds, which makes it incredibly stable. There are four thin rubber feet on the bottom of the keyboard for traction. While there's no way to adjust the angle, I found the 7.0-degree slope to be quite comfortable when typing.

Overall, it's a pretty comprehensive package. In the box, you get the keyboard, USB-C to USB-A cable, combination keycap and switch puller, three extra switches, the 2.4 GHz USB-A wireless dongle, the user manual, and a reference card. It's notable that both the manual and reference card are actually useful, with detailed diagrams and breakdowns of every function, all laid out in a sensible manner.

A USB-C port is on the center rear of the keyboard, but the rest of the keyboard is closed off, so there's sadly no place to store the included USB-A wireless dongle.

Just like the MonsGeek FUN60 Ultra TMR keyboard, the Rainy 75 has a power switch under the Caps Lock keycap, requiring its removal to access the toggle. Generally speaking, the power switch should be flipped to On, except when using the wired mode for an extended period of time, where it's recommended to have it Off. Otherwise, with the switch On, you're able to use the keyboard with the included 2.4 GHz wireless dongle, over Bluetooth, or wired. FN + Tab switches between the three modes, with the Esc key briefly lighting up to indicate wired mode, the same for F1/F2/F3 to indicate one of the three respective Bluetooth connections, and F4 for 2.4GHz wireless mode.

WOBKEY Rainy 75 Pro – Software

Firmware updates, the JSON file to define keyboard layouts, and remap settings can be downloaded from the WOBKEY website. The JSON file is needed for the Via browser app in order to configure the keyboard – this is par for the course for boutique keyboards, ditching bloated software suites for slimmer browser-based solutions.

While the initial setup of the Via app is not the most intuitive, once your keyboard is recognized, functionality is fairly straightforward. You can reconfigure any key, set up to 15 macros, select up to four layers, set different RGB lighting effects, and more. It may not be the easiest keyboard configuration software to get going, but there's a reason why more than 1,000 keyboards use it instead of their own dedicated first-party software.

WOBKEY Rainy 75 Pro – Performance

The little rain cloud by the cursor keys is a playful indicator of the branding. However, the branding goes beyond just an aesthetic to the sound of the keys. Each key press of the Kailh Cocoa switches is met with a pleasingly thick clack, with what WOBKEY calls a raindrop sound profile. This is actually a good descriptor, as it really does sound like heavy raindrops when you really get going with the typing. I measured peaks in the mid-60s of the decibel range when tested at roughly ear height when sitting. That's by no means quiet, but I still found the sound more satisfying than distracting.

The typing experience is buttery smooth. With an operating force between roughly 45 to 50g, the Kailh Cocoa switches remind me a bit of a louder and heavier-to-press version of a Cherry MX Brown switch. While the Rainy 75 Pro is undeniably a joy to type on, the fact that the keys require a bit more force to press made me less interested in using it for gaming purposes. In a fast-action game like Fortnite, for instance, I prize speedy key presses, so something with a lighter touch and actuation customization like a good magnetic switch (as seen on the MonsGeek FUN60 Ultra TMR, for example) makes a better choice purely for gaming. For straight-up typing, however, I'll choose the Rainy 75 Pro every time.

The south-facing ARGB backlight is wonderfully bright and colorful, but the included keycaps aren't shine-through. Instead, the lighting flows through and surrounds the spaces between the keys. It's distinctive and looks nice, but definitely not as effective for those of us who like more of the lighting to be visible. Despite lacking any noticeable texture, I found the keycaps to have clear legends and a nice feel, properly cradling each of my fingers as I typed.

I similarly had no issues with performance over any of the three connection types. You can actually press FN + H to enable an ultra-low latency mode, with Bluetooth at 8ms, 2.4GHz at 3ms, and wired at 2ms, but I didn’t feel the need to use it outside of competitive gaming (for which I prefer something better tuned specifically for gaming).

For straight-up typing, I'll choose the Rainy 75 Pro every time.

With ultra-low latency and RGB lighting both off, you can get up to 900 hours from a full charge thanks to the 7000mAh battery. With either or both of those features on, you're likely looking at less than 80 hours of battery life, which is still pretty good, but certainly shows how much power even modern LEDs and high-performance connections can draw. You can manually check the battery status by pressing FN + Space, with the RGB lighting from ESC to F4 indicating battery percentage from lowest to highest.

Finally, unlike some other keyboards, I found the Rainy 75 Pro to be quick to wake up from sleep. It always felt like it was ready for me to start typing, which is a nice quality-of-life thing you don’t realize is important unless you don’t have it.

Here Are the Top 5 OLED Gaming Monitor Deals for Amazon Prime Day

If you're looking to upgrade your gaming monitor, there's nothing better these days than a montior that's equipped with an OLED panel. They offer stunning HDR image quality with inky blanks and zero ghosting that can't be replicated on any other type of monitor. These OLED monitors normally command a hefty price premium so it's best to wait for a deal to come along. For Prime Day, Amazon has marked down several of the most popuar models from the biggest brands: Samsung, LG, and Alienware. Like any other monitor, OLED monitors come in all sizes, resolutions, and refresh rates, but there's something here for just about every type of gamer.

34" Alienware AW3423DWF QD OLED Gaming Monitor

If you don't require super high framerates, then this Aienware deal will offer the best bang for your buck. The AW3423DWF is a 34" monitor with a 3440x1440 (110ppi) resolution, 1800R curve, and a still-respectable 165Hz refresh rate. It uses a Samsung quantum dot OLED panel for higher brightness levels and better color gamut. Aside from being the only monitor in this roundup for under $600, Alienware OLED monitors include a 3 year warranty that covers burn-in.

49" Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 Gaming Monitor

The G95SC was released back in July 2023 and was subsequently replaced by the G95SD. For an extra $400, the G95SD will get you a matte screen coating, built-in speakers, and a built-in microphone for voice control. However, the image quality - what really matters - is largely identical. This is a super ultra-wide 5120x1440 monitor with a 109ppi, 1800R curve, and a 240Hz refresh rate. Since this is pretty close to Samsung's highest end monitor, it uses a quantum dot OLED panel, which is brighter and has a wider color range than traditional OLED monitors.

Special Mention: 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Dual 4K Monitor

No it's not OLED, but it's still one of the best monitors around

Buydig (via its eBay seller account) is offering the massive 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Dual 4K UHD gaming monitor for just $1,279.99 with free shipping. This is far and away the best deal I've seen for this massive monitor outside of enrolling in an edu or epp program from Samsung directly. The 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is the first and possibly only 57" dual 4K UHD monitor on the market, boasting an eye-watering 7680x2160 resolution, or the equivalent of two 4K UHD monitors stacked next to each other. Despite the display being so large, you're treated to a pixel density of 140ppi. To put that into perspective, it's as sharp as a 32" 4K monitor.

The Odyssey Neo G9 is equipped with a quantum dot mini LED panel. Like its namesake suggests, mini-LED panels have smaller LEDs than traditional LED LCD monitors, so you can squeeze in more lighting zones. Mini-LED monitors are also much brighter than OLED monitors, which is important because larger monitors are usually dimmer.

32" Alienware AW3225QF 4K QD OLED Gaming Monitor

The AW3225QF is Alienware's flagship monitor. It is one of the few out there that marries an OLED panel with a native 4K resolution display. It also boasts a respectable 240Hz refresh rate, is G-Sync certified, and uses Samsung's premium quantum dot OLED technology. Like Dell's other OLED monitors, it includes a three-year warranty with burn-in protection. Something to keep in mind is that 4K monitors require a pretty powerful GPU. 4K resolution has 2.25 times more pixels than QHD; if you want to play games in 4K, especially at frame rates of up to 240fps, you'll want a gaming PC equipped with an GeForce RTX 4070 at the minimum.

27" LG UltraGear GX780A 480Hz OLED Gaming Monitor

The GX780A is part of the next generation of OLED monitors with higher refresh rates than ever before. This monitor was released at the tail end of 2024 and is LG's first ever OLED monitor with an incredible 480Hz refresh rate. This is a 27" monitor with a 2560x1440 resolution (which averages out to 109ppi pixel density), no curve, and G-Sync compatibility. It uses LG's latest generation W-OLED panel. Because the GX790 boasts a super high refresh rate, it excels at games that require fast and twitch input, most notably first person shooters like Counter-Strike.

Friends: The Complete Series on Blu-ray Is Only $37.49 for Prime Day

PIVOT your way over to Amazon as Prime Day features a great deal on the Complete Collection of Friends on Blu-ray. This repackaged set is coming in at $37.49 and features all 236 episodes as well as 20 hours of additional bonus content for those who just can’t get enough of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Joey, and Chandler.

Friends: The Complete Series (Blu-ray)

For folks who didn’t grow up in the '90s, Friends on NBC was a show about a bunch of mid-to-late 20-something friends in New York and the mix of mundanity and excitement that makes up their lives. Watching this show as a kid, it made me believe that living in New York was all about hanging out at your favorite coffee shop and seeing naked people from across the street in their apartment – oh, and smelly cats.

Friends was a big deal when it was airing, with the show and its various cast members winning numerous awards during its decade-long run, from 1994 to 2004. Watching the show now almost serves as a sort of time capsule of the era, with jokes and terms maybe not hitting quite as well, guest stars that have fallen out of the public eye, and the best that '90’s and early 2000s had to offer. But the heart of Friends still continues to ring true: that having a circle of dear friends will help you get through the toughest moments life throws at you, and be there to share the best. That message is timeless. The “Rachel” hairstyle, less so.

Friends was a product of its time, but as its streaming and syndication life has shown, its characters and stories still are fun to watch 30 years later. And for this price, its an easy recommendation for fans of sitcoms.

Amazon Has Some Irresistible Legend of Zelda Gifts in Its Prime Day Sale

Prime Day is still going on until this Friday, July 11, and there are countless great deals available in a wide variety of categories. There happens to be a significant amount of Legend of Zelda-related items in these sales, so I've gathered some of the best and put together a little Prime Day gift guide for that Zelda fan in your life. Amazon has everything from games, books, and apparel on sale, so Hyrule is your oyster.

If the Prime Day deals don't quite have what you're looking for, be sure to check out the IGN Store for more awesome Legend of Zelda gift ideas.

Some of the Best Legend of Zelda Gifts to Grab During Prime Day

Legend of Zelda Video Games

Of course, the Legend of Zelda video games are the bread and butter, and we wouldn't have any of these other snazzy gifts without them. While the discounts on these aren't as steep as I'd like, it's never a bad time to experience Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom for the first time. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is the highest discounted of the bunch at 15% off, and I highly recommend it if you enjoy the classic top-down 2D style like I do.

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom both have Nintendo Switch 2 upgrades available, so if it's your first time dipping your toes into these masterpieces and you have the snazzy new handheld-hybrid console, you won't be disappointed. There are also quite a few other Switch games on sale if you're looking outside of Hyrule for games to play.

Legend of Zelda Books

Part of Prime Day is a buy 2, get 1 free promotion on dozens of physical media. A handful of Zelda books are included in this at a discount, so if you've had your eye on these, you can bundle and save for some great coffee table books. Of note, while the Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia is sitting at 55% off, it isn't included in the buy 2, get 1 free sale like Hyrule Historia and Art & Artifacts.

Then you have the Legend of Zelda manga series, covering the stories from most of the games like Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. Another odd selection of these is included in buy 2, get 1 free, but the box sets of the entire library of Zelda manga is still discounted for Prime Day. Check them out below.

Legend of Zelda Manga Box Sets

Buy 2 Legend of Zelda Books, Get 1 Free

The Legend of Zelda Animated Series

You're likely familiar with the "well excuuuuuuse me, Princess" meme at this point. It originated in the incredibly cheesy and campy animated series from the 80's. Luckily for us, the complete series on DVD is on sale during Prime Day and qualifies for the buy 2, get 1 free promotion. You can save an additional 10% off the already discounted 43% with the attached coupon.

The Legend of Zelda Apparel

We all love a good graphic tee, and the Legend of Zelda selection is pretty good. There are countless styles, sizes, and colors available and discounted for Prime Day, but here are some of my favorites. The Retro Kanji Link Portrait is an awesome recreation of the classic Link design and goes with any style. These are all 30% off, so if you've been looking to upgrade your wardrobe with awesome nerdy shirts Prime Day has you covered.

Other Great The Legend of Zelda Gifts

There are countless cool gifts to pick from, it really was hard to narrow down this list without making it too extensive. Below are some more of my favorite things I'd actually get for my home office, light the heart container light and the Majora's Mask LED neon sign. The ceramic ocarina actually works and comes with a song book with music from the games, as well as an easy explainer for how to play it. These are going for between 20% to 42% off for certain items and make great additions to bookshelves, desks, what have you.

The Best Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Cases for Your New Foldable Phone

Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and you’ve already gone and ordered one, haven’t you? You’ll need a case for it, of course – these phones have come a long way, but even with the newly reinforced hinge, I still wouldn’t trust the Z Fold 7 to take too many spills before breaking, especially now that Samsung has slimmed the phone down so much. Lucky for you, we’ve collected a few options that are available to buy today.

Deciding which one you want will depend on your own sensibilities and risk tolerance. My own needs have changed; when I worked at a brewery or in a pizza shop, I wanted my case to withstand regular tumbles onto hard floors. Now, as a writer, I want the slimmest one possible that gives me the most comfortable access to the phone and its features.

I haven’t personally laid hands on these cases, but I stuck with brands I’ve actually had experience with and know to make good quality cases. For my money, these are the best cases you can get for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 right now.

TL;DR: The Best Galaxy Z Fold 7 Cases

1. Spigen Slim Armor Pro (MagFit)

Best Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Case

Spigen has been around forever, and every case that I’ve bought from the company has held up well. The Slim Armor Pro has nearly everything you need to keep your phone safe and functional, with a promise of durability and coverage that includes the hinge, and it has a built-in magnet so you can slap a Qi2 charger on the back.

The Slim Armor Pro for the Z Fold 7 is nicer looking than last year’s version of this case, with less apparent bulk and a sleeker overall appearance. It looks like Spigen gave it less of a chunky lip around the screens, too. One thing to look out for is that hinge cover – I feel good about the extra protection, but when you lay the phone down while it’s open, it’s going to see-saw instead of laying flat, which could actually put stress on the hinge if you accidentally set something on the phone.

2. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Clear Grip Case

Best Clear Case

They never last forever without yellowing, but if you’re going to get a clear case, your best bet is Samsung’s first-party Galaxy Z Fold 7 Clear Grip Case. Designed by Samsung itself, it’ll be the most snug fit, and that’ll be crucial for feeling the phone’s newly slimmed-down chassis.

Samsung is also offering a standard clear case, but its Clear Grip Case comes with a built-in pop-out handle on the back you can slip your fingers through, making it way less likely that you’ll drop your skinny new foldable. If you want to charge your phone magnetically with a Qi2 charger, Samsung’s selling a Clear Magnet Case, too. Whichever clear case you pick, you’ll be able to easily admire the Z Fold 7’s Blue Shadow or Samsung site-exclusive Mint color options.

3. Dbrand Galaxy Z Fold 7 Grip Case

Best-Looking Case

Dbrand is coming in hot this year with a set of cases that keep your Galaxy Z Fold case safe while also giving you something nice to look at. The company is offering options like a topographical map of Area 51, a matte case with a scanned image of the Z Fold 7’s internals, and an option with a darkly tinted rainbow sheen. If you just want matte black, that’s there, too.

The Dbrand Grip isn’t just nice to look at; they’re manufactured with a textured dot surface to keep the phone in-hand. They’re also beefy and designed to cover and protect the whole phone, hinge and those honkin’ cameras included, according to Dbrand. As for what you’ll pay, that ranges from $49.90 to $79.85, depending which case you get, and all of them ship in August, so you’ll want to either pick up a temporary holdover or just be very careful until then.

4. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Carbon Shield Case

Best Premium Case

Barring any Galaxy Z Fold 7 deals you happen to come across, this is now a $1,999 phone at minimum. So if you want to stick your fancy phone in a fancy case to match, Samsung’s option this year is its Carbon Shield Case. The company says it’s “ultra thin,” scratch-resistant, and includes an anti-reflective protector for your front display.

Like the phone itself, this $99.99 case is now $10 pricier than Samsung’s Kindsuit Case was last year. But for that price, you’re getting a case that’s guaranteed to hug the Galaxy Z Fold 7 better than the vast majority of other options.

5. Torro Z Fold 7 Leather Case

Best Leather Case

As of launch day, there aren’t many leather cases for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold out there, but if you’re going to pick one, Torro’s may be your best option right now. This case comes in two color options: a dark brown and a black textured version with red stitching. It has a magnetic clasp to keep the phone closed and covers the outer screen fully when it’s all closed up. Torro says it’ll work with wireless chargers, but don’t plan on slapping a Qi2 charger onto it, because it has no magnet.

I don’t expect that Torro’s leather case will offer the best drop protection and it definitely adds a lot of bulk, but there are other good reasons to consider it. For one, it’s cheaper than a lot of the options out there, costing just $49.99. For another, it’s designed to double as a stand when you unfold the Z Fold 7, making it a great option for watching content without having to hang onto the phone. Also, it doubles as a wallet, with slots for cash and credit cards.

6. Supershieldz Screen Protector

Best Screen Protector

All phones’ glass displays are susceptible to cracks and scratches, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is no exception, so screen protectors are worth considering, especially if you’re going caseless. Thankfully, Supershieldz is already selling a cheap 2-pack of tempered glass sheets for the Z Fold 7’s front screen to get you started.

These screen protectors are designed with rounded edges to make them more comfortable to swipe your fingers across. Supershieldz says they’re water- and- oil-resistant, though in my experience that wears off of any aftermarket screen protector quickly. The one drawback is that Supershieldz doesn’t include an applicator with your $8.99 purchase. You can find options online that do, but they’re all alphabet soup brand names you’ve never heard of, at least as of launch day as I’m writing this.

How to Pick a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Case

What matters most when you’re buying a phone case is how you actually use the thing. Are you a desk jockey like me, or are you always on the go? Does your job or lifestyle threaten your phone’s structural integrity on the daily? Do you care more about the phone looking and feeling good in-hand than being protected from dings and scratches?

Settle on that first, then start looking at how much things cost. Sure, you just spent at least $2,000 on a new device, but that doesn’t mean you have to shell out another $100. But beware: A deal is not always a deal. Look for brands you’ve heard of, or at least that you can find mention of in reviews online from outlets you trust. Often, the cheap brands you find on Amazon might work for a bit, but they don’t always fit well and very often feel terrible to hold. That’s to say nothing of the protection they offer, which may not be a lot (although phones these days are fairly hardy on their own, so I’d be more concerned about the phone falling out of the case than the case failing to protect it).

The big challenge with a foldable phone is keeping it safe – especially that hinge area – without adding a ton of bulk. Look for a case that shaves off as much of that as possible while protecting it, especially if you want to have any hope of slipping the Galaxy Z Fold 7 into your pocket. It certainly helps that Samsung made the phones drastically thinner this year, but it’s still thicker than most slab-style phones.

The Corsair Void V2 Is a Great Mid-Range Gaming Headset, Even if It's Only a Minor Upgrade

Corsair’s Void headset lineup has been kicking around for the better part of a decade, and though it’s had iterations like the Void with Dolby 7.1 and the Void Pro RGB SE (some might even consider the Corsair HS80 as Void-adjacent given its design), somehow it’s only just now landed a proper “V2” with Void Wireless V2 headset. The new headset brings the technology up to modern standards, making a few minor tweaks to the design in the process. However, the headset faces plenty of competition as a mid-ranger with a $129 base price tag, but holds steady as a solid gaming headset.

Corsair Void V2 – Design and Features

It’s almost astounding how little has changed from previous Void headsets. The shape of the earcups are perhaps the signature element of its design, as they’re mostly untouched on the Void V2. Their odd, angular shape continues to make it stand out but also calls for distinct, hooked yokes.

The Void V2 gets a simpler headband that just runs straight across from yoke to yoke. It’s fairly wide though, offering a large fabric cushion to help it rest easily on your head. The earcups are also sizable, leaving a lot of space for larger ears and providing plenty of cushioning of their own. With a fairly light clamping force, the headset is easy to wear comfortably for long sessions, though it doesn’t exactly hold tight if you’re headbanging to your favorite music.

The Void V2 proves a worthy mid-range option that should serve nicely for most gamers.

As metal as they look at first glance, the yokes and size adjustment sliders are just plastic, like the rest of the construction. The plastic seems sturdy enough to put up with regular, everyday use. It doesn’t creak or groan, at least. But some aluminum construction here and there always helps allay durability concerns.

Surprisingly, despite moving the tech forward, the Void V2 has a similar control layout to its predecessors with a volume toggle at the corner of the left earcup and two buttons on the outside of the same earcup. Combining many functions into just a few buttons can either be convenient or confusing, but unfortunately it’s the latter for the Void V2.

On one occasion, I was getting no audio from my PC despite tapping various buttons on the headset, reconnecting the dongle, power cycling the headset, and such. It turned out all I needed to do was tap the power button once to switch away from Bluetooth mode (even though no audio was playing over Bluetooth). The thing is, I’m fairly certain I did tap the power button in my troubleshooting. Without clear indicators or physical toggles, the headset ends up a little bit harder to use than it needed to be.

Corsair has considered portability somewhat. The headphones can swivel to lay flat, letting them pack into a bag easier or rest more comfortably around your neck. That said, the USB dongle that provides the quality wireless connection is a bit large and doesn’t have anywhere it can tuck away easily if you want to bring it on the go. As mentioned earlier, the headset supports Bluetooth as well, so you can simply switch over to that when using the headphones on the go, making the Void V2 a versatile headset for different platforms (except Xbox). Wired audio over a USB connection is not supported, though.

The mic is conveniently designed, flipping up when not needed and bending precisely to where you want it. But there’s no ditching it if you want to go without it entirely when you’re out of the house. Thankfully, it’s fairly small.

The front of each earcup has the traditional appeal to gamers who care about aesthetics: RGB lighting. But these are just simple little slits filled with RGB light bars. As far as flair goes, they come up lacking as it seems like the RGB lighting was haphazardly integrated as it doesn’t quite meld with the design of the headset.

Corsair Void V2 – Software

The Void V2 relies on the Corsair iCue app for customization. The download itself was 1.1GB, and immediately after downloading and installing it, the app told me it was several versions out of date and needed to be updated. As it stood, the installed version didn’t recognize the headset and required a reset. Curiously, installing the iCue client on a second computer, the download was just 3.3MB, which then handles the download of the actual software you need.

There’s not much customization to be done with the Void V2. You can change the lighting with an upper and lower zone on the little RGB light bars on each side, and you can change what pressing the volume flicker inward does. There are also Nvidia Broadcast integrations, but only if you have that app, and there’s a 10-band equalizer. The thing is, all of this is managed in iCue, and if you switch to another machine, none of it is saved onboard. The only settings you can save to the device are the lighting effects.

Corsair Void V2 – Gaming and Performance

When it comes to sound quality, the Corsair Void V2 does its job well. The headset provides clear audio that makes it easier to not only enjoy the soundtrack and booming effects in a game, but it’s tuned well for positional audio to help pick out where sounds are coming from. I found this more than a little handy in games like Insurgency: Sandstorm and Delta Force, where audio is a big hint at where danger is.

As far as engrossing you in the game goes, the Void V2 goes heavy on bass. Games will sound explosive, but it’s a bit too pronounced, pushing it over the top a bit. So if you care for accurate sound in music, you’ll probably want to dial it back a little. They’re also fantastically loud; even with Windows set to just 20% volume, they were at danger of hurting my ears, so just be aware.

The headset doesn’t offer much passive isolation, so that volume may become important. They slightly muffle external sound, making it harder to discern ambient noise like people’s speech and such, but plenty of it still gets through. So, you’ll want to use these in a quiet space for the best experience.

Part of the reason the headset offers such modest isolation is that the ear cushions are wrapped in fabric (as opposed to leatherette which creates a better seal for natural noise isolation). This proves pleasantly comfortable and hasn’t been overly hot even while testing on some heated summer days. Of course, if I turn on the AC to combat the heat, the headphones let me hear it running.

The microphone on the headset is a decent one. It captures a mostly natural tone, though it can get a touch of digitization in its attempts to cut out background noise. That background noise cancellation is effective, though, which will help you keep your teammates happy. But it’s best at blocking constant, droning noises. Loud typing or mouse clicks can get through. My voice doesn’t sound overly thin or nasally through the mic, but I wouldn’t rely on it for streaming or professional use. Though iCue can enable sidetone, it doesn’t sound very clear. It’s virtually inaudible until it’s cranked up, and at that point the sidetone sounds like I’m speaking inside of a cardboard box.

A big perk of the headset is its wireless connection which has proven bulletproof while near the transmitter. As long as I was within the same room and didn’t have walls in the way, I could reliably and cleanly hear my audio. If I wandered away, the mic quality seemed to drop the quickest. That wireless connection is supported by a large battery that offers up to 70 hours of runtime, and the headset hasn’t left me wanting in this regard, though the RGB lighting isn’t ideal for longevity. On Bluetooth, battery life can go even further for a rated 130 hours. I’ve tested the headset for weeks and haven’t had to think about charging it more than once or twice during that time.

This Price Tracking Tool Is How I Find the Best Deals During Prime Day

I've been covering Prime Day sales for a long time, and in doing so I have learned quite a few solid tips for finding the best deals. The biggest obstacle to overcome in these events is sleuthing out whether or not a discount is actually good or not, which can be tricky if you aren't actively browsing Amazon every day of your life like I do. Fortunately, there's a tool called CamelCamelCamel that handles price tracking for you and it's an absolute lifesaver if you're looking to save as much money as possible.

A lot of what the IGN Deals team does on a daily basis is look for price drops on the products shoppers are most interested in, so knowing historical pricing information is a key part of that. Even outside of Prime Day and other shopping events for my job, I end up using CamelCamelCamel on pretty much anything I buy on Amazon to make sure whatever discount is listed is actually worth my time. There's even a Chrome extension called "The Camelizer" that is just as awesome as the name would suggest.

Some of the Lowest Prime Day Prices Today:

I've featured a quick list of some of the best deals from the current Amazon Prime Day sale above, all of which are at their lowest prices ever. For some of these, like the Kindle deals, I already know what the previous lowest ever price was because I'm constantly checking, but for everything else I rely on the price tracker to tell me. All you need to do is go to the website directly, paste the Amazon URL into the search bar, and it will surface the exact price history of the product you're looking at. For example, if you paste that AirPods Pro 2 deal into the search bar, you'll get something that looks like this:

Right away you'll be able to tell if the current deal is actually a good deal or if Amazon is just offering the same discount it always does. If you spend enough time in this price tracker, it will become pretty clear how the often actual price listed for something is actually new or a typical sale. Using these AirPods as an example, you can see that the baseline price has fairly consistently been around $199, which would be considered a discount. The only times these wireless earbuds have well and truly been discounted were during Black Friday last year and Prime Day this year.

How to find new deals using CamelCamelCamel

In addition to the price checker, CamelCamelCamel is also a great tool for finding popular price drops on pretty much any category of product Amazon also has. If you go to the Top Price Drops section of the website, you can filter all of the products by category based on whether or not they are currently at or near their "Best Price." This is incredibly useful if you're looking for specific deals on this like electronics or toys, but less useful if you have a more narrow search. Here's a quick example of that can look like on any given day:

Don't Rely Too Much on This Tool

It's worth noting that while this tool is a great resource, you should still do some research outside of it. The way the price tracking function works is by monitoring specific product codes in Amazon URLs called ASINs and tracking the price changes for that product. So this becomes a problem when Amazon changes the URL for a product, which it does sometimes. CamelCamelCamel is also unable to see things like coupons or promos, meaning it will only give you the price listed on the page, not the one you'll actually get at checkout. A good example of something this tool wouldn't be able to help you find are things like the buy two, get one free 4K Blu-ray sale going on right now, which I highly recommend you check out.

eBay Beats Out Amazon's Sony WH-1000XM5 Noise Canceling Headphone Deal for Prime Day

For Prime Day, Amazon is advertising the venerable Sony WH-1000XM5 noise canceling wireless headphones for $298. However, eBay absolutely crushes this deal with a far better offer. Right now you can pick one up for just $238.40 after you apply the 20% off code "JULYFINDS". Mind you this is for a brand new item and Buydig is an authorized Sony reseller so you get the full manufacturer's warranty. The Sony XM5 is one of the best noise canceling headphones you can get for under $400 and it consistently ranks at the top of the heap in our buying guide. There's a new XM6 model that came out for 2025, but you'll have to pay $200 more to get it, and I doubt it's worth the price diffference.

Sony WH-1000XM5 Noise Cancelling Headphones for $238

The prior generation Sony XM4 was already an outstanding headphone, but the XM5 features key improvements in noise cancellation and comfort. The XM5 has been fitted with a second processor and double the microphone count dedicated to filtering out ambient noise. The earcups have also been redesigned so that they fit more snugly on the ear, thus creating a better seal and as a result, more effective passive noise isolation. The noise cancelling is noticeably better than the XM4 and pretty much any other noise cancelling headset in its price range.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 has also been updated with a noticeably sleeker redesign with a different style of headband adjustment. The band is wider than before for better weight distribution and the earcup padding is now made of a luxurious synthetic leather material that's softer and more comfortable. You can easily wear these headphones for hours. One small drawback, however, is that the XM5 can no longer be folded inward, only swivelled, so it's less compact.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 retains the XM4's excellent battery life at over 30 hours on a single charge even with ANC activated. The XM5 also supports fast charging over USB Type-C.

eBay is on a hot streak with another excellent headphone deal

If you're looking for the best price on a pair of Bose's flagship noise canceling headphones, once again it won't be an Amazon Prime Day deal.
