Every Final Fantasy Game on the Nintendo Switch in 2025

When you have a series that's consistently gotten new games for almost 40 years, you have to think about how younger generations will be able to play them. That, and, of course, thinking about your bottom line, has led every publisher to lean more and more into multiplatform releases. On top of PC ports, Square Enix has released a decent amount of remasters and special editions of the Final Fantasy series specifically for Nintendo's handheld.

The Final Fantasy games hitting Switch isn't entirely unprecedented. The connection between Final Fantasy and Nintendo dates back to the series’ infancy, when the first game debuted on Nintendo's Famicom system in 1987. In fact, the first six mainline Final Fantasy games debuted on Nintendo platforms before Square Enix jumped to PlayStation as the series’ primary platform with Final Fantasy 7.

With Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth's PC launch and a solid Magic: The Gathering expansion bringing Final Fantasy back into the spotlight in 2025, plenty of people are hoping to dive into the series for the first time. Below, we’ve compiled a complete list of Final Fantasy games available on Switch and a look at what's coming to the Switch 2.

How Many Final Fantasy Games Are Available on Switch?

There are 20 Final Fantasy games you can play on the Switch — 12 mainline games, one prequel, and seven spinoffs. These games have been split into two sections below: mainline games (ordered by original release date) and other games (ordered by Switch release date).

Every Mainline Final Fantasy Game on Switch

Final Fantasy 1–6 Pixel Remaster

The first six Final Fantasy games are all available on Switch as part of Square Enix’s Pixel Remaster collection. Each game has been overhauled with new graphics, rearranged soundtracks, updated UIs, and new galleries for players to explore the creatures, illustrations, and music from all six games. If you're interested in diving into the original Final Fantasy experience, this is the best way to do it.

The Pixel Remasters are available individually ($12–18 USD/each) or as part of the six-game Final Fantasy I–VI bundle ($75 USD). If you're looking at the games individually, I'd recommend FF6, as it has one of the more immersive storylines.

Final Fantasy 7

One of the series’ most beloved games, Final Fantasy VII, is also available on Switch. This is not a remastered version of the game but rather a port of the 1997 original with three extra features: a 3x speed mode, the ability to turn battle encounters off, and a battle enhancement mode to make encounters easier. While the newer remasters, Remake and Rebirth, introduce modern action RPG mechanics to Cloud Strife's battle against Sephiroth, the Switch edition of FFVII is one of the best opportunities to experience what made the original PlayStation game so impactful.

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered

The series’ next entry is also available on Switch as Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. This updated version was released in 2019, 20 years after FF8 originally debuted on PlayStation. Additions to the remastered version include a 3x speed mode, the ability to turn off random encounters, and battle assist options to lessen the difficulty of combat.

Final Fantasy 9

Final Fantasy IX on Switch, like FFVII before it, is a port of the original RPG, which, despite not being quite as "famous" as Final Fantasy VII, is considered to have one of the best storylines in the series. The Switch version includes a few extras compared to the 2000 original, including high-speed and no-encounter modes, an autosave feature, and HD cutscenes and character models.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is a bundle of Final Fantasy X and its sequel X-2 (the series’ first-ever direct sequel). The two games feature over 100 hours of RPG content, according to IGN sister site How Long to Beat, and include upgraded graphics and reworked audio (with the ability to switch back and forth between the new and original sounds).

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age

Skipping the now-shuttered MMORPG Final Fantasy XI, the series’ next mainline game available on Switch is Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age. The Zodiac Age, a remaster of the 2006 original, features HD graphics and a re-recorded soundtrack, as well as the Zodiac Job System, an increased battle tempo, an optional high-speed mode, and autosave functionality.

Final Fantasy 15 Pocket Edition HD

Final Fantasy XIII and XIV: Online are not available on Switch, which brings us to Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD. It’s the latest mainline game available on the platform, as FFXVI is still only available on PS5 and PC.

Final Fantasy 15 Pocket Edition HD is an abridged version of the original game with cartoonish character models, simplified combat, a reduced skill tree, and fewer side quests. Pocket Edition HD does, however, retain the full FFXV story, boys on the road and all.

Other Final Fantasy Games on Switch

World of Final Fantasy Maxima (2018)

World of Final Fantasy Maxima, co-developed by Square Enix and prolific Japanese developer Tose, came to Switch with new content and the subtitle ‘Maxima’ two years after it was first released on PS4 and Vita. It’s an accessible RPG aimed at younger audiences that combines the series' Active Time Battle system with the ability to capture Mirages (i.e., creatures) to use in battle.

Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! (2019)

Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! is a remastered version of the 2007 Wii game Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon. This Final Fantasy spinoff is a turn-based RPG with randomly generated dungeons and a buddy system that allows players to bring other creatures or characters along for the dungeon-crawling chaos.

Collection of Mana (2019)

This collection of three Mana games is on this list due to its inclusion of the 1991 Game Boy game Final Fantasy Adventure. Despite beginning as a Final Fantasy spinoff, the Mana series dropped those ties with the release of its second game, Secret of Mana, and has since remained an independent franchise.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition (2020)

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is an enhanced version of the 2004 RPG/dungeon crawler originally released for GameCube. Crystal Chronicles for Switch features a cute aesthetic, online co-op, and the addition of English voiceover for the first time. It’s a graphical improvement upon the original that also added new areas, monsters, weapons, and a higher-difficulty option.

Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend (2020)

Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend compiles three Game Boy games: Final Fantasy Legend I–III. We’ve included these games in service to creating a comprehensive list, though these are only Final Fantasy games in name; the SaGa games belong to an independent franchise of RPGs inspired by but not necessarily connected to Final Fantasy. The first three SaGa games were given the Final Fantasy name to capitalize on the brand recognition with western audiences.

The collection adds a high-speed mode and Switch-specific enhancements like adjustable screen magnification and the ability to play with your Switch oriented vertically (when in handheld mode, with Joy-Cons detached).

Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion (2022)

A prequel to Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion is a remastered version of the 2007 PSP RPG. The game stars a young warrior named Zack Fair, whose connection to Cloud and FFVII is revealed throughout the story. Reunion features remastered graphics, new character and background models, fully voiced dialogue, a newly arranged soundtrack, and a refined battle system.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line (2023)

A rhythm game that celebrates the music of Final Fantasy, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line launched with 385 tracks from across the Final Fantasy series, though that has since grown to include music from other Square franchises for a total of 505 tracks. The Final Fantasy music pulls from 46 games, according to Squre, including FFI–XV. Theatrhythm Final Bar Line features over 100 characters and online multiplayer support for up to 8 players.

Chocobo GP (2023)

Chocobo GP is a Final Fantasy-themed kart racer developed by Arika (Tetris 99). While there are better kart racers available on Switch, Chocobo GP is a fun respite from the more involved RPGs that make up the majority of the Final Fantasy franchise. Like other kart racers, it features time challenges, tournament-style races, and options for multiplayer racing.

Upcoming Final Fantasy Games on Nintendo Switch

The most recent mainline Final Fantasy release is Final Fantasy XVI, which has yet to see any variant or equivalent release on Switch. We probably won't see a new mainline FF game on PlayStation or Switch anytime soon, as Square Enix's current focus is its three-part remake of Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VII Remake was released on PS4 in 2020, followed by Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5 in 2024, and both have since made their way to PC.

Square Enix recently confirmed that all of the Final Fantasy VII remakes will be making their way to the Nintendo Switch 2. While the new Nintendo console is set to release on June 2, there's no official word on when to expect Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the platform.

EVE Vanguard Makes A Lot of Big Promises, But Delivers Good Gunplay

It's almost surreal to ride a drop pod down to the surface of one of EVE Online's tens of thousands of planets in the upcoming shooter tie-in, EVE Vanguard. I've flown by them hundreds of times in the many years I've been playing the venerable spaceship MMO, but usually at astronomical distances. I always wondered about what was going on down there. I would make up stories about it in my head. Now I have a high-powered space rifle in my hands and I'm experiencing the universe up close and personal. And while it was a very, very build that couldn't show off a lot of the bigger promises, to my disappointment, there are some promising hints already.

As a quick caveat, the footage you're seeing is still from an early build and a lot of things, including the weapon and enemy models, are not final. CCP just announced that Vanguard will be going into Early Access in Summer 2026, so we've still got a while to wait. Also, the portion we actually got to play was only the session-based shooter maps themselves, and not the career and progression stuff that will be taking place back in space. But I got to talk to the devs about both, so we'll get into a bit of each here.

What, exactly, is a Vanguard? Well, like most things in EVE Online, it's some esoteric high concept sci-fi that can seem a little bewildering at first. Your character is a semi-immortal "infomorph" – which is to say a digital human consciousness that lives in cyberspace. I guess you could say you're something like Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077. To fight on the front lines of New Eden's many wars, you upload yourself into a powerful war clone, which is purpose-grown from a fresh soup of biological matter for each mission. They're not free, but you can call down a new one in the middle of a mission if the one you're in gets blown up, explaining how you can respawn over and over.

On a scale from random cannon fodder to Master Chief, the devs said you can think of war clones as not exactly superhuman, but more like the absolute peak of human ability an elite athlete could achieve. They are renowned across the galaxy, and running into another player-controlled Vanguard on a deployment is meant to feel like a mini boss fight.

Suit Up

Vanguards gather in bastions, which CCP says you could think of almost like The Continental from John Wick. I swear I'm not trying to shoehorn in more Keanu references here. It just happens! It's neutral ground to shop, swap stories, and pick up new contracts, represented by a virtual space where you'll be able to physically walk around and interact with other mercs' avatars. As someone who was devastated when EVE Online removed the ability to walk around in stations, I was particularly pleased to hear this.

The really cool thing, though, is that these bastions exist out in the same universe where EVE Online players are zipping around in their spaceships. The initial ones will be NPC-controlled, but it will eventually be possible for players to attack, build, and even own their own bastions. CCP hopes specific bastions might develop a reputation as the place you go if you really need a job done right. And similar to how EVE has "high sec" space where NPC law enforcement protects new players and "low" or "null sec" where players are free to PvP to their heart's content, new Vanguards will also be able to choose where they end up based on how interested they are in fighting other players.

Hair Trigger

One of the biggest changes in philosophy EVE Vanguard has undergone since its reveal back in 2023 is how the guns themselves are being designed. We're moving away from sleek, understated military sci-fi into what the designers called an homage to the "golden age" of shooters, citing inspirations like Doom, Quake, and Unreal. There is still your standard space rifle, which comes in a few different faction variants. But I also got to play around with an energy shotgun with ricocheting projectiles that can fire in a spread pattern, or a single, massive orb of destruction if you hold down the fire button for a couple seconds.

As more of a long-range enjoyer, my favorite was this high-powered sniper rifle that features the ability to hold your breath to line up a perfect shot. While the model is clearly unfinished, the reload animation of swapping out the little focusing crystal is slick and memorable as well. Like in EVE Online, almost everything is gathered and crafted by players, too. Even in a mission, I had to loot some corpses and spend a bit of time with my portable fabricator to top up my ammo. Mining and industry will also be a part of the Vanguard experience. It will even be possible to specialize in it – though the devs warned me that you'll probably want to bring some backup with combat skills if you do.

For now, EVE Vanguard is still a lot of "wills," "shoulds," and " hope tos." It is playable, and the gunplay feels a bit unpolished still, but satisfying.

You might see me switching weapons with a debug menu in the video at the top of the page, which was just for the demo. Eventually, we'll be picking our loadout from the deck of our own battlebarge ahead of a deployment. This will also let us pick which kind of war clone to spawn, and we were told they will eventually come in all different shapes and sizes for different specializations. Vanguard will also have a bit of separation from the main EVE Online economy. Notably, you don't buy guns and ammo with ISK, which is the main currency for the starship jockeys, since it wouldn't make much sense for a rifle to cost the same as a frigate.

There absolutely will be ways for players of both games to work together and benefit one another symbiotically, though. Some materials Vanguards can access planetside might not be abundant in space, for instance. Another example I was given likened it to Star Wars: Rogue One or Return of the Jedi, where an elite ground team might have to take down a shield generator so the fleet above can attack a fortified station.

Nightmare Fuel

The enemies here are also a work-in-progress. Using placeholder models, they spawn in small groups and mostly keep their distance, but I did get caught a couple times by a flanking attack from an unexpected direction. We got to see some concept art of one of the PvE enemy factions, Mordu's Legion, though, and they are extremely unsettling. These cyborg space mercs who have their heart ritually removed as part of their initiation will come in several different ranks, with some being able to direct the others on the battlefield.

On any given deployment, you might end up running into these NPCs and other players. These arenas are massive, open-ended, and varied, a combination of procedurally-generated terrain and handcrafted battlegrounds featuring the wreckage of some of EVE's recognizable starships. In this mission, there was debris actively streaking through the atmosphere as we fought, which was a really awesome touch.

For now, EVE Vanguard is still a lot of "wills," "shoulds," and " hope tos." It is playable, and the gunplay feels a bit unpolished still, but satisfying. The environments are impressive, and the weapon designs are diverse and bombastic. It's just hard to get the full picture without actually experiencing how it will tie into the EVE Online shared universe or the social features, which are definitely the most exciting part of the whole idea. For that we'll have to wait until the middle of next year when Early Access warps in, at which point both games will be connected at last.

Pokémon TCG: Temporal Forces Elite Trainer Box Finally Back In Stock at Amazon

Pokémania 2025 continues to be a struggle as the year goes on, but some restocks are actually coming in at near retail pricing.

The Paradox Rift Elite Trainer Box is back in stock at Amazon for $52.60, amongst some other restocks, but this ETB stands out for being more accurately priced than most sealed Pokémon TCG products right now.

There's also an epic deal on the Pokémon TCG Classic box that celebrates the base set and the original Wizards of the Coast era of the TCG.

Pokémon TCG: Paradox Rift (Iron Valiant)

This Elite Trainer Box includes nine booster packs from the Paradox Rift expansion, along with a full-art promo card featuring either Scream Tail or Iron Bundle.

The set also comes with 65 Iron Valiant-themed card sleeves, 45 Energy cards, a player’s guide, and gameplay accessories like dice and condition markers. It's a good option for players who want a strong introduction to the Paradox Rift lineup with a focus on Violet-exclusive designs.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic

This usually retails for around $399.99, so this is a brilliant deal. The cards have a different back design, so unfortunatley they're not tournament legal much like the World Championship decks. This is for Wizards of the Coast era of Pokémon trainers who want to relive how the Pokémon TCG worked back in the late 90s. This set includes:

  • 3 60-card decks starring classic Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise
  • 3 deck boxes
  • 3 sets of card sleeves
  • 1 two-player game board
  • 1 toolbox case with randomize
  • 2 sets of damage counter cones
  • 2 sets of condition markers

More Pokémon TCG Restocks

This is one of the better deals to come out of Amazon recently, considering that they currently think $265.99 is an appropriate retail price for a Surging Sparks booster box worth around $140 off the digital shelf. It's also around $15 cheaper than the Shrouded Fable ETB at Amazon too, which is a product of equal value as far as retail pricing goes.

The Top Paradox Rift Cards

If you're after pulling the top chase cards from Paradox Rift without buying loads of ETBs and booster packs, why not just grab the single cards instead? Bar Groudon Illustration Rare, the top cards in this set can be bought for either the same price or $10 to $20 less. Overall, buying singles will save you a small fortune.

Genshin Impact Updates Shop to Show How Much You Need to Spend to Guarantee Pulling a Character — and Now Players Want HoYoverse to Sell the Characters Directly

Genshin Impact is one of the most popular gacha games in the world. The free-to-play action RPG from HoYoverse lets players spend a virtual currency called Primogems to have a chance (a “wish”) to obtain rare characters of varying power. It’s a microtransactions system that has proved controversial, but a money-spinner for the developers, generating billions of dollars in revenue over the years.

In most games of this type, the amount of money you have to spend to eventually pull a character is withheld from the player — and you can see why given the poor odds available. But now, HoYoverse has updated Genshin Impact to do just that, revealing front and centre just how much needs to be spent.

The Genshin Impact shop now tells U.S. players how many pulls you’re getting with each purchase (you can buy wishes directly with a direct conversion rate displayed) and how much you need to spend to guarantee pulling a character, which varies between $1.98 to $475.20. The figure is based on the base prices of the pulls (without bonuses) and if you hit the max pulls to guarantee the character (180 pulls).

So, while the posted figure assumes the highest possible price if you intentionally don’t buy the higher value (and more expensive) bundles, you could face spending nearly $500 pulling just one character in Genshin Impact.

Players have reacted with a mix of disbelief and positivity at the transparency.

“Whole thing is weirdly.... Transparent,” said redditor Zion-plex. “You see it clear as day, 100 bucks 50 pulls every time staring at you (whales think or maybe don't even care they ‘know’ the math). Man, that'll sting, even for those who can and will spend, there's a lot of mental suppression that goes on.”

”Unmitigated positive,” said Whilyam. “The only people helped by obscuring costs are the ones who want to take advantage of people or make it easier for people with addictions to justify spending money.”

“I think it’s harder to justify the spending with abysmal conversion rate visible with your eyes,” added Mtboomerang. “I think the biggest problem with addicts is they follow the emotion then they will calculate. With the conversion rate visible now, their logic will shut their emotion down in time before they are deep in emotion abyss trying to come up with a reason.”

“Good changes that should be standardized for all Gachas and other similar games with gambling/loot box type mechanics,” said mikethebest1.

Some players are now calling on HoYoverse to just let Genshin Impact players buy characters directly, given they now know how much it could cost to obtain them through the gacha system.

“I wish they would just freaking sell the damn characters,” said yuusharo. “Horse armor works on me, I’d pay a freak ton on these games if I knew I’d get what I wanted every single time.

“Instead, the vast majority of their revenue comes from a tiny percentage of players exploiting gambling tendencies, preying on people like vultures. I hate it, I feel so gross whenever I succumb to that.”

So, why has HoYoverse added this layer of transparency to Genshin Impact now? It’s because it lost a court case against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) back in January that resulted in a ban on selling loot boxes

If you are wondering why, back in January HoYoverse reached a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that resulted in increased transparency around parental consent and virtual currency practices within its games. The results are now kicking in.

As part of this, HoYoverse is now required by U.S. law to age verify U.S. player accounts. That's because as part of the FTC's settlement order, sales of Genshin Impact loot boxes to kids under 16 without their parents' consent were banned.

The age verification process will be rolled out to all U.S. players by May 20. If you don’t provide your age information by July 18, 2025, you could see your account suspended, the developer warned. If the verification is not completed by July 20, 2026, the personal information of your HoYoverse account will be deleted permanently.

How to Redeem Wagarashi Codes

  1. Load up the Wagarashi Roblox experience and play the game until you reach Rank 5
  2. Look in the top left corner for the icons that will open your inventory, the shop, server list, etc.
  3. Click on the icon that's the second one from the right. It's in between the door and the server icon
  4. This will bring up a box that says "type code here".
  5. Enter the code and press submit.

Why Isn't My Wagarashi Code Working?

There are two main reasons why your code might not work when you submit it. Some codes are for Roblox are case-sensitive, so just copy it directly from this article and paste it in. We test each and every one of the codes before adding them here to make sure they're working. Just be sure when you are copying them from here that you don't include any extra spaces. If one has snuck in there, just remove them and try the code again.

If you're taking them directly from the article, and they're still not working, the other possibility is that they're expired. When a code has expired, it will say this as soon as you enter it.

How do I get More Wagarashi Codes

We check for new codes for Roblox experiences regularly, so if you want to stay up to date with codes for Wagarashi, be sure to check back here. Alternatively, you can join the dedicated Wagarashi Discord Server and look for codes there!

Switch 2 UK Preorders: Now Available Without Invite Directly From Nintendo

Nintendo has opened up a new wave of preorders for the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle (see here), for £429.99, alongside the standard Switch 2 for £395.99, releasing on June 5, 2025.

No invites are required, and you can purchase right away directly from My Nintendo Store UK at the time of publication. We'll keep you updated with any changes.

It's limited to one order per customer, and you'll need a paid Nintendo Online Membership to add the new console to basket.

You can buy a 3-month membership for £6.99 at Amazon right now, and redeem the code immediately on your account.

Everywhere else is out of stock right now, so Nintendo is your best bet of securing the console at this moment in time.

Make sure to follow our Twitter/X and BlueSky IGN UK Deals pages to be notified of more news.

Switch 2 Game and Accessory Preorders (UK)

You can also currently place orders on the vast majority of games, controllers, cases, additional storage, and extra gadgets to add to your Nintendo Switch 2 preorders and complete your set-up.

You may notice that some item listings are in French, but these items will still go to your address in the UK. We assume the error is due to an onboarding issue on Amazon's side that will hopefully be resolved soon.

Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza also aren't currently showing within the complete collection via Nintendo's Amazon page, but each is still available to preorder for £74.99 and £64.99, respectively.

With the exception of MK World, certain physical games Amazon UK is £2 cheaper compared to My Nintendo Store, with copies of DK Bananza and the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Super Mario Party Jamboree, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom being priced at £64.99 instead of £66.99.

Nintendo Switch 2 UK Preorders

While the US has been out of luck with more Nintendo Switch 2 preorders since they went live, UK seems to be fairing at little better, at least for now.

After stores like Argos jumped the gun and made their limited units of Nintendo's new system available to order, it's been like the wild west as others surprise us with stock allocations at random times... before selling out in a matter of minutes.

Whilst you can preorder Switch 2 games & accessories from Amazon, it's safe to say that the chances of grabbing the actual console are slim if you aren't checking various websites each day.

To help you on your quest, you can find the individual store links listed below, and individual Switch 2 product pages listed in the catalogue above—as some are still being active despite being out of stock, while others have been taken down until more units are available.

These include those for both the base Nintendo Switch 2 and the bundle, including a download code for a digital copy of Mario Kart World. The retailers we've found selling Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are as follows:

Which Retailer is Best for Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders?

Just like when the recent GameCube Switch 2 controller went on general sale, the Switch 2 will also require you to have a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

While the hub page for the NSO Memberships does mention the service does have a 7-day trial available for those who have never subscribed, it also specifically states that said trial cannot be used to purchase premium items like the Switch 2.

Among all of the other retailers, we have found Amazon UK's to be the best in terms of default pricing and delivery, since you not only do not have to pay until dispatch, but you'll also get free delivery with Amazon Prime.

Meanwhile, while Argos only allows you to pay immediately, you can connect your Nectar card to earn points to redeem for money off future orders.

That said, almost all other retailers offer free delivery in at least some fashion—either after spending a certain amount (e.g. Argos at £100), or going click & collect (e.g. Jacamo when spending over £30).

Between the 12 remaining stores, the only retailer of which we'd say will give you a raw deal on a Nintendo Switch 2 by comparison is GAME—who will charge you an extra £4.99 minimum for delivery no matter your basket size, even if you choose to collect it from a store.

GAME have tried to take the sting off this policy by offering customers who spend over £100 a £5 in-store voucher (but only with the store delivery option). With that, we would only recommend pre-ordering a Nintendo Switch 2 from GAME if they at one point become the only retailer with stock and you want to secure a pre-order as soon as possible for peace of mind.

Get £10 Off the Nintendo Switch 2, Games & Accessories at Argos

If you don't mind paying immediately, however, Argos has become the best place to buy Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, games, and accessories, thanks to a £10-off offer available until the 18th of June.

After signing up to recieve marketing promotions from the retailer, you can be sent a unique one-use code to get £10 off an order when spending over £60. This fits perfectly with both the Switch 2 console and games.

For example, you could pay only £385.99 for a base Nintendo Switch 2 instead of £395.99. On the other hand, we found codes sent to signed up users expire within around 12 days, so you'd have to bank on Switch 2 stock becoming available within that timeframe—or chancing it by trying to sign up on the fly, but the website then may become unstable whilst dealing with floods of traffic.

Alternatively, you could use your code right now to get £10 off physical games & accessories like Mario Kart World (£64.99 instead of £74.99), Donkey Kong Bananza (£54.99 instead of £64.99), or the Switch 2 Pro Controller (£64.99 instead of £74.99).

If you have multiple emails, though, you can do both. Argos' offer only allows you to redeem one £10-off code per order, but you can use multiple one-use codes for different orders on the same account—even if one was generated for another email address.

So, for example, you can use your main Argos account email to sign up for market promotions, and use that code to pre-order Donkey Kong Bananza at £10 off. Then, you can sign up for marketing promotions again for a second email address, and use that code to get £10 off a Nintendo Switch 2 if and when stock becomes available

In the meantime, increase your chances of pre-ordering a Nintendo Switch 2 by following our Twitter/X and BlueSky IGN UK Deals pages to be notified of only console restocks as soon as they're available.

John Wick 5 Will Be ‘Really Different,’ Director Chad Stahelski Teases Following Keanu Reeves Confirmation

Following last month’s news that John Wick 5 is official and Keanu Reeves had signed on to “give John’s story the proper next step,” franchise director Chad Stahelski has begun to tease what fans can expect from the film — and it sounds like things are going to be different this time around.

How different? “Really different,” Stahelski told Empire magazine, now that the High Table storyline from John Wick 1-4 had come to an end.

Warning! Spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4 follow.

John Wick appears to die at the end of John Wick: Chapter 4 after, once again, defeating the bad guys. We even get to see John Wick’s gravestone, with Winston (Ian McShane) and the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) saying their farewells. But, crucially, we only see John Wick collapse from his injuries and appear to die.

So, how can Reeves continue as Wick? We don’t have story details yet, but do know that John Wick 5 will tell a new story that involves the titular character.

“The saga of John Wick was pretty wrapped up,” Stahelski told Empire. “So the only way to do a 5 is to have a new story that involves John Wick. It’s not a continuation with the High Table. John dealt with his grief. It will be really different, and everybody [will] see the trailer and go, ‘Holy fuck... I gotta see that.’ ”

It’s a busy time for the billion dollar John Wick franchise. In addition to the four mainline films, the John Wick Universe, as it’s called, includes two spinoff films (Ballerina, to be released June 6, and a spinoff directed by and starring Donnie Yen reprising his Caine character, set to start production this summer).

In addition, Lionsgate Television produced The Continental: From the World of John Wick for Peacock and Amazon Prime, and Lionsgate confirmed it’s developing the TV series John Wick: Under the High Table, which Stahelski and Keanu Reeves are executive producing. There’s an animated prequel film that will tell the story of John Wick’s ‘Impossible Task,’ too.

It sounds like the John Wick animated film and the Under The High Table TV series will help build into John Wick 5. “The John Wick TV show and the animation are big priorities,” Stahelski said. “Our idea is to try some things and explore some threads and use those two properties to catapult us forward into the ideas for John 5.”

Outside TV and films, Lionsgate recently opened an immersive John Wick experience in Las Vegas and has a John Wick AAA video game in the works.

EA Bucks Industry Trend And Says It Has No Plans to Increase Video Game Prices

Publisher/ developer EA has confirmed it has no plans to raise the price of its games even as the likes of Microsoft and Nintendo jump to $80.

Addressing investors in its latest financial call, CEO Andrew Wilson said the company's focus was to "deliver incredible quality and exponential value for our playerbase," such as its hit co-op adventure Split Fiction, which has now sold 4 million copies.

"In terms of pricing power, our business is very different today than it was even just 10 years ago," Wilson explained. "In a world where everything we did 10 years ago was about selling shiny discs in plastic boxes in retail shelves — well, that’s still a part of our business, it’s a significantly smaller part of our business, and we now have pricing representing everything from free-to-play all the way to deluxe editions and beyond.

"At the end of the day, whether we're doing something that costs a dollar, or we're doing something that costs $10, or we're doing something that costs $100, our objective is always to deliver incredible quality and exponential value for our playerbase," said Wilson. "And what we've discovered over the course of time is [when] we can marry quality and value together, our business is strong, resilient, and continues to grow."

"From a guidance perspective [...] we have reflected no changes in our current [pricing] strategy at this point," added CFO Stuart Canfield.

It'll be welcome news to some, given just last week, Microsoft confirmed it was raising Xbox prices as well as increasing the cost of controllers, headsets, and some games. The price hike for consoles and accessories has already taken effect, and while game prices will stay the same for now, we should expect to see Xbox charging $79.99 for new, first-party games around the holiday season.

It follows a broader trend in AAA gaming that has seen prices jumping from $60 to $70 in just the last five years, and Nintendo going with $80 for upcoming Switch 2 exclusive Mario Kart World and some other Switch 2 Edition games. The Switch 2 itself was recently revealed to be launching at $450, a price that drew criticism from Nintendo fans even as analysts admitted such a high price was likely inevitable amid current economic conditions.

Given EA's comments, we can expect the next EA Sports FC, Madden, and Battlefield games to stick to the $70 standard edition pricing.

Last week, IGN reported EA cut around 100 jobs at Apex Legend developer Respawn Entertainment, as well as making wider cuts across its organization, impacting around 300 individuals in all.

First Pictures of ASUS' Xbox-branded Handheld Leak Online

It looks like photos of ASUS' Xbox-branded handheld device, codenamed Project Kennan, have leaked online.

As first reported by 91mobiles and spotted by Eurogamer, two images of the ASUS ROG Ally 2 device — one white, one black — seem to have gone public via the Indonesian certification office, which linked to (seemingly now deleted) a listing on the U.S.'s FCC website.

While both boast buttons configured for Xbox (Y, B, A, and X, rather than PlayStation's triangle, circle, cross, and square, or Nintendo's X, A, B, and Y), the photo of the black variant is particularly interesting as a Xbox button, albeit one without a defined 'X', is very clearly to the left, next to the thumbstick. The tech specs at this time are a little piecemeal, so it's not entirely clear how they'll run or if there's any meaningful difference between the black and white versions.

That said, Windows Central's Jez Corden reports the devices are "currently being tested at Microsoft HQ rather openly as we speak" and posits a reveal may be coming on or around May 20.

Photos of Xbox's "Project Kennan" seem to have leaked. https://t.co/fQiMISNMJZ

— Jez (@JezCorden) May 7, 2025

Last month, ASUS Republic of Gamers' X/Twitter account shared a teaser offering a brief glimpse at both a Republic of Gamers (ROG) Xbox controller and handheld system. The official Xbox account acknowledged the tweet with a cheeky wide-eyed gif, suggesting it was gearing up for a formal reveal.

It follows an earlier report from IGN on Microsoft’s video game hardware ambition, which allegedly includes a full next-gen Xbox for 2027 and an Xbox-branded gaming handheld that may launch later in 2025.

While this particular Xbox-branded gaming handheld is not a Microsoft-made console, the company is reportedly planning to finally launch one of its own in 2027, potentially alongside its next-gen Xbox. Microsoft gaming boss Phil Spencer recently indicated a first-party Xbox handheld is years away.

Speaking of which: the successor to the Xbox Series X is now allegedly "fully" in production and due out in two years, tying in with Xbox president Sarah Bond's recent comments that Microsoft was "moving full speed ahead on our next generation hardware, focused on delivering the biggest technological leap ever in a generation."

Will GTA 6 Be S-Tier? Rank Every Rockstar Game

A new GTA 6 trailer is here and, in case you missed it, we broke down all of the secrets and details from it. Sadly, though, we’re going to have to wait until May 26, 2026, to actually play Lucia and Jason’s story. So, in the meantime, why don’t we think about all of the Rockstar games we’ve already enjoyed over the years and rank them for fun?

Rockstar has developed and released over 30 games since its creation in 1998, and is responsible for famous series such as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which comes out on top? Just to clarify, you won’t see the likes of LA Noire or Max Payne 2 here, as we’ve strictly gone with Rockstar-developed games, rather than ones the studio has published. I’ve had a go at ranking them via one of our IGN Tier Lists, purely taking into account my personal enjoyment of each game over the years. Take a look at my tier list here:

Red Dead Redemption 2 is simply my favourite game of all time, so it was a pretty easy S-tier pick for me if I’m honest. It’s (perhaps unsurprisingly) joined its predecessor and GTA 5 in that category – both pioneers of the cinematic open world genre. I also have a particular soft spot for Max Payne 3 and its bullet time ballet, as well as GTA San Andreas (a game I played at a way too young age). Down at the bottom in the D-tier, we have the likes of Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, a game that literally nobody in their right mind wants to play.

Don’t agree with me? Think that Vice City is better than GTA 4? Well, why not have a go at ranking all of Rockstar’s games yourself in a tier list below, where you can compare your own S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the whole of the IGN community.

We may have only seen two trailers so far, but where do you think GTA 6 will end up ranking when all is said and done? Let us know in the comments, as well as why you’ve ranked the games in the order you’ve chosen.

Simon Cardy is a Senior Editor at IGN who can mainly be found skulking around open world games, indulging in Korean cinema, or despairing at the state of Tottenham Hotspur and the New York Jets. Follow him on Bluesky at @cardy.bsky.social.

With GTA 6 Trailer 2 Out in the Wild, the Fan Theories Are Coming Thick and Fast — and Some Sound Pretty Plausible

GTA 6 Trailer 2 is packed full of details (we spotted 89!), but it has also sparked an explosion of fan theories as the community analyze each frame for clues on what to expect when the most anticipated game in the world eventually comes out in May 2026.

GTA fans across social media, Discord, forums, reddit, and elsewhere are putting forward their speculation, with Trailer 2 the most up to date reference point they have.

Let’s start with a fun reference to Red Dead Redemption 2 that has some, once again, theorizing that the worlds of GTA and Red Dead exist within the same universe. Eagle-eyed fans spotted that the presidents on the cash seen in a screenshot of the club in GTA 6 are the same as those from Red Dead Redemption 2’s cigarette cards (Thaddeus Waxman and Franklin Hardin).

It’s worth noting this is an incidental detail, and GTA and Red Dead existing in the same universe does not amount to much at the end of the day (although some are now suggesting Jason may be a descendant of Arthur Morgan, given the two look sort of alike). But it shows that there are connections between the two Rockstar IPs that may be strengthened further when GTA 6 comes out.

Now onto some juicy stuff. There is a brief moment in the trailer early on when Jason walks into his house, and the camera moves into what looks like an over the shoulder, third-person perspective. There is little sign of gameplay in Trailer 2, but fans are theorizing that this cutscene may seamlessly transition into the beginning of GTA 6, with players thrust into controlling Jason as he walks around his house.

If true, it may be the case that GTA 6 features two of these sections: one for Jason and one for Lucia, the game’s second playable protagonist. The theory here is that GTA 6 will feature a similar transition into gameplay moment for Lucia, helping the player get to grips with the dual protagonist gameplay ahead of the time-skip to when Lucia leaves prison.

Moving on, fans are focusing their attention on an image transition on the recently updated official GTA 6 website, which sees the camera swing around from spotlighting Jason to spotlighting Lucia as they share an embrace.

Some are wondering if this is a character select screen that might display when you load the game. The expectation is you’ll be able to swap between Jason and Lucia during gameplay, but perhaps GTA 6 gives you the chance to pick between the two upon getting back into the game, and if so, this could be what we’ll see.

There are all sorts of theories on the nature of Jason and Lucia’s relationship and where the story will take it. I’ve seen everything from speculation that Jason is an undercover cop to either Jason or Lucia or perhaps even both dying at the end of the story. Most seem convinced either Jason or Lucia betrays the other at some point, which would be criminal. Perhaps we’ll get to choose via an optional ending system.

Just a note on the Jason is a cop theory: Jason tells the prison security guard, when picking up Lucia, that he might have been there before. In what capacity? Later, an older cop says, “Us cops, we’ve got to protect each other,” before the trailer cuts to Jason shooting at a moving car.

This leads on to a theory that GTA 6 may feature a third playable character that Rockstar is keeping secret so it’s a surprise to fans, and that this older cop may be it. Could you shift perspective to a cop hunting down Jason and Lucia during the story?

Now, this is a brilliantly silly fan theory: previous GTA games are films in the world of GTA 6. Phil Cassidy, the arms dealer from Vice City and GTA 3, is at the heart of this theory. In those games he’s missing an arm, but there is a character seen on Jason’s TV during the GTA 6 trailer that looks a lot like Cassidy — except he has both arms.

So, what’s happening here? If this is indeed Cassidy, then how does he have both arms? Could the GTA 6 Cassidy be Phil Cassidy’s son? Or his grandson?

Adding to the confusion is GTA's seperated universes structure. The GTA series is divided into three distinct parallel universes, officially named by Rockstar North as the "2D Universe", "3D Universe," and the "HD Universe."

The 2D Universe includes the original top-down GTA games developed by DMA Design. The 3D Universe starts with GTA 3 and includes its prequels, such as Vice City. And the HD Universe starts with GTA 4 and includes GTA 5, GTA Online, and the upcoming GTA 6, with each game set in the same year it was released. Following this, GTA 6 will be set in 2026, aka the modern day.

Now, while these are meant to be distinct parallel universes, there is a lot of crossover between them, with shared place names, characters, some lore, and more besides. But certainly no-one was expecting Phil Cassidy from Vice City to pop up in GTA 6, as it makes the 'distinct parallel universes' thing even trickier.

So, perhaps having GTA’s 3D Universe games as films in the ongoing HD Universe would help resolve these issues. We do see what looks like Phil Cassidy on Jason's TV, after all. Or, this Phil Cassidy has nothing more than a fun Easter egg Rockstar added to GTA 6 to spark exactly this kind of speculation. This is Rockstar, after all!

Trailer 2 has also reinforced existing theories that GTA 6 will feature heists, and that there is a heavy influence from the Fast & Furious movies. At one point we see a truck with a vault attached to it, similar to the Fast 5 scene that does pretty much the same thing.

I knew that I have seen this somewhere before 👀🤔

Gta 6 🤝 Fast And Furious 5. pic.twitter.com/QxNPtHlXXO

— Marvrassiczilla 🅰️🦖🦎🦍 (@Movie__Fans) May 6, 2025

More GTA 6 fan theories are popping up all the time as people dig into Trailer 2. Expect plenty more in the year we have to wait until GTA 6 comes out.

Fallout Season 1 Limited 4K UHD Steelbook Preorders Now Available at Amazon UK

It's been a while since the Fallout series first premiered on Amazon Prime Video, but now you can preorder the limited 4K Ultra-HD Steelbook version of Season 1 at Amazon UK right now for £50.

Although not releasing until Monday, the 7th of July, 2025, this newly announced special edition is already sold out in the United States at Amazon US. What's more, it's also currently sold out at other UK retailers like Zavvi and HMV.

With that, Amazon UK is the only place where you can lock in an order for a brand new version of the season on 4K with the good-looking steelbook featuring Walton Goggins' Ghoul. If £50 is still a bit too rich for your blood, preorders for Fallout Season 1 are also still available on Blu-ray and DVD at Amazon UK, for £30 and £25 respectively.

Inside the steelbook case itself is some stylish Vault-Tec-style artwork with the iconic Vault Boy. As well as all three discs of the season being fashioned in a Vault-Tec blue colour, this limited edition also appears to come with a set of character-themed postcards.

An exact full product description of the edition doesn't appear to be available, so we can't determine what other cards come with the set, but The Ghoul is once again the cover character in that department as well.

Whichever way, this is without a doubt the best way to watch Fallout Season 1, whether you've watched the show already or if you've been waiting for the right physical release to check it out for the first time.

We've also double-checked Fallout Season 1's 4K Blu-ray at blu-ray.com, and found that the discs with this physical version are region-free. So, if you're in the US, this is also a perfect substitute for you while preorders are OOS at Amazon US.

Sure, the show's still available to watch right now with an Amazon Prime membership, but the 4K quality will show even better without lost audio and visual quality, due to the video file compression that usually occurs with streaming.

Best Deals Today: Pokémon Cards, LEGO Sets, and Everyday Essentials

I pulled today’s deals because each one offers either a return of a hard-to-find product, a lower-than-usual price, or good old solid value. Some items like the Pokémon TCG: Mimikyu ex Box are back in stock for $49.99 after being hard to track down for a while, for example.

TL;DR: Deals For Today

There are also more cool deals like the LEGO Cherry Blossom that have had a nice price drop recently that I think you should check out too. If you're looking to grab something on your list for less than usual, this is what I think is worth your time.

Pokémon TCG: Mimikyu ex Box

Mimikyu ex Box is available again at Amazon for $49.99. This has been in and out of stock recently, and now that it’s back at standard pricing, I think it’s a good time to pick it up if you’ve been waiting.

It comes with a Mimikyu ex foil promo, a Greavard card, an oversized Mimikyu ex, and four booster packs, including one from Silver Tempest. I picked one up to open casually, and I think the contents make it a well-rounded option for collectors or newer players looking to add a few cards and packs at once.

More Pokémon TCG Restocks

Several sealed Pokémon TCG products are also back on Amazon. One example is the Surging Sparks booster box, which is currently listed above MSRP. I would only go for that if you're set on opening all 36 booster packs from Surging Sparks at once.

Other sealed options like tins and smaller boxes are closer to retail and offer more flexibility. These restocks tend to move quickly, so I’ve been checking them regularly to avoid overpaying later.

Pokémon TCG Single Deals: Silver Tempest

Silver Tempest singles are still showing steady demand. Lugia V Alt Art and Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art were both highlighted in my Crashers and Climbers roundup last week.

I’ve had both on my radar and noticed they’re still trending across marketplaces. They continue to be relevant cards for both competitive play and collectors, so I think now is a fair time to consider picking them up if you’ve been holding off.

LEGO Cherry Blossom

Amazon has the LEGO Cherry Blossom set available for $8.15 today. That’s a steep drop from the usual $14.99 price and a low I haven’t seen in a while.

It includes 430 pieces and builds into two cherry blossom branches in pink and white. I built it recently and think it works well as simple desk decor. It’s easy to assemble and feels more polished than its size and price might suggest. This is one of the best sets from our top picks for Mother's Day.

More LEGO deals

There are several other LEGO sets discounted today. LEGO Roses is $9.03 and includes two adjustable red rose stems. LEGO Ideas Tree House is $174.99, which is 30 percent off and still one of LEGO’s best larger builds for display.

LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon is $67.99 and strikes a nice balance between detail and build time. Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit is $59.95 and includes a working gear mechanism for orbit simulation. The LEGO Mini Orchid is $23.99 and fits neatly into a small space while still looking like a proper decorative piece.

Xbox Controller - Robot White

The Xbox Wireless Controller in Robot White is $44.99 at Walmart. It features a hybrid D-pad, textured grip, and wireless support for Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PC, and mobile. I keep one connected to both my Xbox and laptop as it's one of the best controllers out right now in my opinion. At this price, it’s a smart option if you need a backup or replacement.

Vibe Coding Super Bundle

The Complete Vibe Coding Super Bundle is available at Humble for $25 or more and includes 42 courses. These cover Unreal Engine, Python, automation tools, and SaaS development. Proceeds go toward Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

If you’ve been meaning to build development skills or start a side project, this bundle delivers a lot of content with long-term value.

Dreamegg Portable White Noise Machine

The Dreamegg Portable White Noise Machine is available for $18.99, and there’s a 15% off coupon on top of that. It’s small enough to carry in a coat pocket or travel bag and includes 16 different white noise and nature sounds.

It charges via USB-C and lasts multiple nights per charge. I keep something similar in my bag when traveling, and it’s made a noticeable difference in light-sleep environments.

Skyrim Vinyl Box Set

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Ultimate Edition Vinyl Box Set is $129.98 at the IGN Store. It includes four LPs containing Jeremy Soule’s complete remastered soundtrack and comes packaged in a quad-fold jacket with game artwork. The set also includes a sturdy slipcase. I’ve seen a lot of soundtrack vinyl over the years, and this is one of the more complete and visually polished collections available.

Suri Electric Toothbrush

SURI Electric Toothbrush is $101.15, marked down from $119.00. It includes a UV sanitizing travel case, an aluminum body, and recyclable brush heads. It also offers two brushing modes, a two-minute timer, and a battery that lasts 40 days on a single charge. I prefer this kind of straightforward, high-quality design over flashier models that require frequent recharging.

Stanley Quencher H2.0 Tumbler

Stanley Quencher H2.0 Tumbler in the 40 ounce Stargaze color is $33.69 today. It includes a rotating lid with three positions and vacuum insulation to keep drinks cold or hot for long periods. It fits into most cup holders and has a wide, sturdy handle. I’ve had one in daily use for a while and still think it’s one of the more practical bottles out there, especially when available below full price.

COSLUS Water Dental Flosser

COSLUS Water Dental Flosser is available for $29.98. It includes a 300 milliliter water tank, multiple pressure modes, and a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 30 days. There are several interchangeable tips included, and the build feels durable. I’ve used similar flossers before and found them much easier to use consistently than string floss. For this price, it covers all the basics and more.

Acefast AceFit Air Open Ear Headphones

Acefast’s AceFit Air Open Ear Headphones are $67.99 at Amazon today, and there’s a 10% off coupon available knocking the final price down to $61.19. These use an open-ear design that rests just outside the ear, which I’ve found helpful for staying aware of surroundings during walks or workouts. They’re lightweight, water-resistant, and include app-controlled EQ settings. If you’re not a fan of traditional earbuds, I think this design is worth trying.

GameSir Super Nova Gaming Controller

GameSir Super Nova Gaming Controller is $43.16 at Geekbuying, or $41 through their mobile app. It works with Switch, PC, Android, and iOS and uses Hall Effect sticks and triggers to reduce drift. You also get RGB lighting and a detachable faceplate.

I’ve looked into this controller recently and think it’s a solid pick for anyone who wants something more customizable than the standard options without going up to premium pricing.

Nerf Pro Gelfire Versus Pack

Nerf Pro Gelfire Versus Pack is $14.95 and includes two compact blasters, protective eyewear, and 4,000 Gelfire rounds. These rounds burst on impact and do not require cleanup. The blasters hold 60 rounds each and fire at up to 150 feet per second. I think this is an easy and affordable way to try gel-style play without investing in a larger setup.

INIU Portable Charger for $9.99 at Amazon

INIU 10000mAh Portable Charger is $19.99, and there’s a 50% off coupon available at checkout. It’s one of the thinnest chargers I’ve seen at just half an inch thick, and it supports USB-C input and output with 3 amp charging.

I’ve used similar models while traveling and think they’re ideal for pocket carry or tossing in a bag when you want something lightweight but capable.

Unlock Pro 3D Modeling Skills With Blender

If you’re even a little curious about 3D modeling, the Humble Blender Bundle is offering 25 full tutorials for just $18. These courses cover Blender 4.4 fundamentals, geometry nodes, environment design, character modeling, and more, with full compatibility for Unity 6 and Unreal Engine. The total value adds up to $2,767, which makes this one of the best skill-building bundles I’ve seen in a while. Proceeds go to Alzheimer’s Research UK, and the offer is available for the next 16 days.

Samsung PRO Plus + Reader microSDXC 512GB

512GB Samsung PRO Plus microSDXC card + reader is on sale for $29.99, a savings of $39 off the regular $68.99. It includes a USB card reader and offers read speeds up to 180MB/s and write speeds up to 130MB/s.

It's Class 10, V30, and U3 rated, making it suitable for 4K UHD video recording and high-speed file transfers. With a 10-year limited warranty included, I think this is a dependable storage upgrade for devices like cameras, tablets, or handheld consoles (...but not Switch 2).

Fallout Nuka Cola Quantum by Jones Soda

you’ve ever wanted to drink something that looks like it came straight out of your inventory screen, the Nuka-Cola Quantum 4-pack is now available for preorder at the IGN Store for $34.99. This version cranks up the sour factor with an “Extra Radiation” twist that’s really just berry lemonade with a serious kick.

I think it's a fun, functional collectible conversation starter (andpart sugar rush). Each set includes four twist-top glass bottles in a Fallout 4-inspired carrier box, complete with retro styling and no actual Rads (just cane sugar and citrus). It ships June 2025, which gives you time to plan your next cosplay party or stock up for a long vault stay.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter 4 Pack

This 4-pack of USB-A male to USB-C female adapters is currently $7.99 at Amazon, down from the typical $9.99. I think this is one of those small purchases that ends up being unexpectedly helpful. If you're still using a mix of USB-A and USB-C ports, these are a clean solution that don’t require extra cables or dongles.

They’re built with aluminum alloy housing, designed to stay plugged in with minimal protrusion, and work with devices like the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch, AirPods, Nintendo Switch, and Samsung Galaxy S25. Just a heads-up: they’re not meant for video output, but they’re excellent for charging and file transfers. They also come with a 12-month service plan, which adds a little extra peace of mind.

LISEN USB C to USB C Cable 240W

This USB-C cable bundle from LISEN is marked down to $7.99 from $15.96. The set includes two 6.6-foot cables capable of 240W charging with PD 3.1 and QC 4.0 support. That makes them well suited for high-powered laptops like the MacBook Pro M4 or phones like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

They’re made with a braided nylon exterior and reinforced with steel-armored connectors that have been tested for over 40,000 bends. These also support 480Mbps data transfer, so you're covered for fast file syncing too. I think it’s a strong buy if you’re replacing older cables or want something reliable for travel.

Pokémon Flareon Sleeping Plush

The Flareon sleeping plush is available at Walmart for $29.97. It’s an 18-inch premium plush in a relaxed, sleeping pose, made with soft material and officially licensed by Pokémon.

I think this is an easy pick for fans or collectors, especially since the size makes it good for display as well as cuddling. If you’re looking for a thoughtful gift or just want to add something playful to your space, this one hits the mark.

Ghost of Yotei Collector’s Edition PS5

Preorders are now live for the Ghost of Yōtei Collector’s Edition, priced at $249.99. This is a follow-up set in the Ghost of Tsushima universe and comes with both digital and physical collectibles. Inside the box, you’ll find a wearable Ghost Mask, sash, replica tsuba, papercraft ginkgo tree, art cards, and a traditional Zeni Hajiki coin game.

Digital content includes the full game for PS5, a deluxe armor set, saddle, sword kit, early unlock maps, and other in-game bonuses. With a release date of October 2, I think this one will go fast, especially for fans of the original game.

Clair Obsur: Expedition 33 Merch

The IGN Store has launched exclusive merchandise for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The collection includes prints, hoodies, t-shirts, mugs, and other themed gear. Prices start at $15 with a wide range of characters and designs represented.

Doom & Wolfenstein Mayhem Game Bundle

Humble’s latest bundle features fifteen games and bonuses from id Software, including DOOM Eternal, DOOM 64, and multiple Wolfenstein titles. It also includes a coupon for 10% off DOOM: The Dark Ages. For $28, the value is strong across retro and modern releases, making this a savage deal for FPS fans.

Destiny 2's Year of Prophecy: Here's Everything Guardians Need to Know

Get ready, Guardian — Bungie just unveiled what's coming up in its sci-fi shooter, Destiny 2, including two new expansions and major seasonal and core game updates coming to both paying and free players, all badged under the "Year of Prophecy."

Year of Prophecy is the first year to boast four "major content beats," with two paid expansions and two major updates. The former is paid content while the latter will be available to all players.

First up is Rite of the Nine, a "fresh take on dungeon diving for both seasoned dungeon crawlers and those stepping into the depths for the first time" that is already available to all players for no additional cost. While the dungeons themselves — Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghosts of the Deep — will be familiar to some, even the most hardened Guardian can expect "unique twists" in which you'll reconnect with Orin and refreshed dungeon weapons.

Then, on July 15, we'll get the brand-new expansion, Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, a "multiyear saga that will unfold across multiple expansions." A paid-for expansion, The Edge of Fate will reintroduce us to the Nine, powerful and mysterious beings who existed long before the Traveler, as two characters "step into the spotlight" — new ally Lodi and Warlock Vanguard, Ikora.

The expansion will take place on new destination Kepler, described as "inspired by the puzzle-solving and pathfinding challenges of Destiny 2’s dungeons and destination design which encourages deep exploration, mystery, and player-driven discovery." Expect new enemies, weapons, gear, and "destination-specific abilities."

At the same time, on July 15, "major core game innovations" will roll out, including revised armor and gear systems "to create richer opportunities for buildcrafting" and a new activity selection screen called the Portal.

"Players will be able to easily choose between Fireteam Ops, Pinnacle Ops, Crucible Ops, and the newly introduced Solo Ops," Bungie explained. "Fireteam Ops and Pinnacle Ops reinforce quick fireteam action and longer-form cooperative content, while the new Solo Ops activities are specifically designed for solo players who want short, self-contained gameplay sessions without the need for a fireteam.

"Additionally, players can tailor activities to match their desired gameplay and the specific rewards they are chasing. 50 all-new modifiers will allow deeper gameplay customization and offer greater challenges for players, while curated activity rotations will ensure there is always something new to chase."

As typically happens with a new expansion, pre-order sweeteners are available, including an instantly unlockable Exotic Ghost and Legendary Emblem. We've listed the full spoils below:

Destiny 2 Pre-Order Details

The Edge of Fate Pre-Order includes:

  • The Edge of Fate Campaign

  • Dark Side Legends Bundle (3 full armor ornament sets, 1 for each class, instant unlock)
  • Secret Stash (1x Exotic Cosmetic, 1x Exotic Cipher, 2x Ascendant Alloys, 3x Ascendant Shards, delivered with each seasonal update)

A Year of Prophecy Collector's Edition is also available, although pre-orders for the physical edition have already entirely sold out at the time of writing.

From September 9, a second major update will go live — Ash & Iron — with the second expansion of the year, Renegades, going live on December 2. Finally, March 3 sees the Shadow & Order major update roll out.

Destiny 2: Renegades, the second expansion in the Year of Prophecy, is inspired by the "legendary Star Wars universe" and "merges Destiny’s distinctive storytelling and gameplay with themes and elements drawn from the iconic sci-fi franchise."

All this will be welcome news to many Destiny 2 players after Bungie laid off 220 staff — that's 17% of its entire workforce — in July 2024, less than a year after 100 other layoffs at Bungie.

Of course, Destiny 2 isn't the only game keeping Bungie busy right now. Marathon was revealed in May 2023 as a reboot of the classic Bungie franchise, but it was only in the last month that we got our first real look at it. In IGN's Marathon hands-on preview, we wrote: "After playing enough Marathon to get a pretty good feel for it in its alpha state, I’m already fairly confident it’ll scratch the Bungie PvP itch that’s been left unscratched for a number of years now. Here’s hoping they’ll knock it out of the park when it comes to PC and consoles in September."

Will Street Fighter Creator’s New Saudi-Backed Boxing Game Pack a Punch? Japanese Fans React

Street Fighter creator Takashi Nishiyama is developing a brand new boxing game in collaboration with long-running boxing magazine The Ring. The news was revealed on the official X account of Turki Alalshikh, the Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. Alalshikh acquired American publication The Ring back in November 2024.

According to the tweet, the untitled game will feature original characters and combine "The Ring’s unmatched authority in boxing with game developer Dimps’ decades-long experience in crafting classic games."

Together with legendary Japanese video game designer Takashi Nishiyama, I am proud to announce a forthcoming boxing game presented by The Ring featuring original characters.

This strategic partnership between myself and Nishiyama brings together our unmatched authority in… pic.twitter.com/LRWyyZzkpz

— TURKI ALALSHIKH (@Turki_alalshikh) May 5, 2025

Dimps is Takashi Nishiyama’s company. Its most recent game was Freedom Wars Remastered, a reworking of a PlayStation Vita game for modern consoles released in January 2025. According to the tweet from Alalshikh, development of the boxing title will begin soon.

The Saudi Arabian royal family has become increasingly invested in Japan’s gaming industry in recent years. In April 2024, it was revealed that 100% of Japanese game company SNK’s shares were now owned by the Saudi Crown Prince’s foundation. The Ring Magazine has also been involved in promoting SNK’s upcoming Fatal Fury: City of Wolves, hosting a boxing match collaboration at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on April 26, 2025. Of course, Nishiyama himself previously worked at SNK in the 1990s, creating the Fatal Fury series and producing many games in flagship SNK series like Metal Slug and King of Fighters.

Japanese people’s reactions to the announcement of The Ring x Dimps collaboration so far have generally ranged from surprised reactions of “What?!! I want to play it!” to curiosity as to what the final game will be like.

@ryo_redcyclone, an X user who frequently posts Street Fighter-related content, responded to the news with: “Commenting on the first Street Fighter, Nishiyama said: ‘I chose to focus on street fighting because established sports are restricted by rules.’ This time he is making a game based on boxing, a sport with rules, so I’m curious to see how it will turn out.”

Much of the concern seems to center upon whether boxing’s rules will restrict Nishiyama’s creativity, considering the roster of quirky characters and crazy moves that can be found in his previous fighting games.

Although Street Fighter has Mike Tyson lookalike Balrog, his kicks, not to mention his Buffalo Head move, clearly violate professional boxing rules. It will be interesting to see whether The Ring and Dimps’ new boxing game goes for a realistic or rule-breaking approach.

Boundary-Pushing Co-op Adventure Split Fiction nears 4 million sales

Hazelight's fan-favorite co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has sold almost four million copies.

Publisher EA confirmed the milestone in its latest financial results, calling the game a "hugely successful launch" and name-checking it as one of the reasons the publisher ended the 2025 financial year with a "strong finish."

"4 MILLION SOLD!!!!" developer Hazelight exclaimed on social media in response to the news. "So many of you have picked up Split Fiction already, it’s amazing…

"Seeing the fun you have with our game and the love you show for Mio, Zoe and each other warms our hearts here at Hazelight. And so many hot dogs made… "

Split Fiction pulls you into the many worlds of two fiction writers in a boundary-pushing co-op adventure that allows two people to play even if only one owns the game. It only launched in March, but is yet another hit for Hazelight and designer Josef Fares, selling over 2 million copies in just a week. It's also down as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title as Hazelight gets going on its next game.

A movie based on Hazelight’s game is also in the works, with Story Kitchen, the video game adaptation specialist behind the Sonic films, said to be assembling writers, a director, and the cast, which will include Sydney Sweeney.

We said Split Fiction was "an expertly crafted and absorbing co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another", writing in the IGN Split Fiction review that it was "a rollercoaster of gameplay ideas and styles that are usually discarded as quickly as they’re introduced. This keeps it fabulously fresh for its full, 14-hour duration."

Amid All the Excitement for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Bethesda Issues Surprise Starfield Patch — and Fans Are Hoping It Heralds DLC News

Amid all the excitement for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Bethesda has issued a surprise patch for Starfield, adding ‘Very Low’ display settings to improve performance, additional support for Creations (mods), as well as fixes for quests, vehicles, the user interface, and the Shattered Space DLC.

The update is currently in Steam beta, which PC players can opt into. In a post on its website, Bethesda called for feedback, and published patch notes, below.

This update does little more than add a few new features and make bug fixes, which means Starfield players are still waiting for news on potential DLC.

Space-set RPG Starfield launched in September 2023 as Bethesda’s first brand new IP in 25 years. But it was not as well received as the studio’s previous games in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises, and the Shattered Space expansion, released a year later in September 2024, has a ‘mostly negative’ user review rating on Steam.

Despite reaching 15 million players, some wondered whether Bethesda might walk away from Starfield to focus on its other franchises. Bethesda itself has said it has "exciting things" planned for Starfield this year, amid growing discontent from players about a lack of communication and updates. In June 2024, Bethesda insisted it remained committed to supporting Starfield, and confirmed at least one other story expansion would release following Shattered Space. In an interview with YouTube channel MrMattyPlays, Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard said the developer was aiming to release an annual story expansion for “hopefully a very long time.”

In March, speculation that Starfield would soon be confirmed for release on PlayStation 5 ramped up after fans spotted a PlayStation logo on Bethesda’s official Creations website. The logo was attached to a work-in-progress ship decals Creation for Starfield, and although the Creation was removed, fans were left wondering whether Bethesda’s so-far PC and Xbox-only sci-fi game would soon make the jump to PS5.

While it’s easy to forget about Starfield given all the attention on Oblivion Remastered, its players are hoping that Microsoft and Bethesda go big on Starfield at its Xbox Games Showcase broadcast on June 8. Could it announce the PS5 version and a new expansion at the same time? Could it shadow-drop both, following Oblivion Remastered’s lead? Fans only have a handful of weeks to find out.

Entire Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy Coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Square Enix Developer Reveals

In the latest video in Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice series, Final Fantasy Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be getting a Switch 2 release.

Intergrade is the expanded PS5 version of the 2020 PS4 release Final Fantasy VII Remake, the first chapter in the remake trilogy that greatly expands upon the classic 1997 PS1 RPG Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade made some improvements to the PS4 version’s graphics and lighting, and also included Remake’s Intermission DLC, which centers on plucky ninja Yuffie’s arrival in Midgar.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade is currently available on PS5 and PC. However, Hamaguchi revealed that with the Switch 2’s improvements over its predecessor, it will be possible to bring the game to Nintendo's handheld platform. “With the power of the Switch 2, we can now recreate Midgar with full specs,” he stated.

“Being able to play this game on the Switch 2 in handheld mode means you can play it on the train while commuting to work,” Hamaguchi added, saying that the portability will also make it easier for people to directly discuss and show others the game and their progress.

The Switch 2 version will also incorporate GameChat, enabling players to talk to friends while playing and share their screens in real time. “I’m very excited to see this game playable on a portable system,” Hamaguchi enthused, adding that “I have high hopes that we can build a strong partnership between Nintendo and the Final Fantasy brand.”

Although only Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has been confirmed for Switch 2 so far, Hamaguchi ended with, “I hope players are looking forward to the Final Fantasy VII Remake series on Switch 2,” suggesting that Rebirth and the upcoming final entry in the trilogy will also see Switch 2 releases in the future.

Of course, the Final Fantasy series originally started out on Nintendo consoles, before switching to the PlayStation 1 and its CD-ROM format for Final Fantasy VII, the first 3D entry, in 1997. With the remake, it seems that FFVII will finally be available on Nintendo hardware.

Marvel's Thunderbolts 'Spoiler' Title Change Just a Week After Release Sparks Mixed Feelings From Fans

Thunderbolts* finally started gracing screens nationwide this past weekend — but Marvel also pulled a rather interesting stunt in the wake of its opening. Marvel unveiled a new title, or at the very least a subtitle, for the film just days after the release that, in many fans’ eyes, spoils a key element of the movie. That said, please read on with caution if you have yet to make it out to the theater to catch this new MCU output.

Warning! Spoilers for Thunderbolts* follow:

Thunderbolts* is also The New Avengers, and some fans around the internet simply feel like Disney and Marvel should’ve let fans figure that bit out for themselves in the theater. “It's complete nonsense to spoil the movie three days after release,” one user wrote on an r/MarvelStudios post. “Marvel is a mess these days.” Another fan added: “Disney spoiled this to drive ticket sales. They don't trust their audience so they threw them under the bus for viral slop.”

Other moviegoers were more willing to justify the play from a business standpoint. “If they did this in week three, Thunderbolts will only have one week to itself before Mission Impossible and Lilo & Stitch crush its momentum,” one commenter explained in a comment on the post. “So that's how you're getting it week two to maximize attention and grab whatever money's on the table before Memorial Day.”

Another person pointed out that word of mouth made the move worth it for the studios. “The fact that people are talking about it is why they did it,” they claimed in their defense via Reddit. “It’s also not the big twist of the movie and IMO takes nothing away from it… the movie is still good regardless. The characters are still worth watching and there are still other twists to watch that I would have been more upset about being ruined.”

“I’d have waited [until] the end of the week, but I understand why they’ve done it,” an additional Reddit user added to the r/MarvelStudios post. “Avengers is a very big name brand. If they wanted this movie to make money, they’re gonna need this backing which they wouldn't have had with the Thunderbolts title. The New Avengers is intriguing. And if you enjoyed the film, you’re gonna want a sequel, and to get a sequel we need great reviews and it to make money.”

Marvel Studios' #̶T̶h̶u̶n̶d̶e̶r̶b̶o̶l̶t̶s̶* #TheNewAvengers is now playing only in theaters.

— Marvel Studios* (@MarvelStudios) May 5, 2025

It’s a great marketing strategy that will likely maximize the amount of eyes on the film, especially from those who weren’t drawn in by the Thunderbolts title — maybe more casual fans who don’t know the full backstory here — but still are intrigued by the idea of a new group of Avengers. Timing issues aside, it’s a solid plan from a business standpoint.

Other fans were more into cracking jokes about the whole situation. “Imagine not seeing this opening night,” one Redditor wrote alongside a GIF of Eddie Murphy bursting into laughter and clapping his hands together. Another fan on X / Twitter said: “Calling the Thunderbolts New Avengers is like that one lame friend you had in school who gave himself a nickname. Bro! I’m not calling you Dragon. :)” A second social media user also joked: “Like The New Avengers hits, but don’t hit at the same time.”

Some fans who weren’t particularly thrilled by the bait and switch are also worried about the film’s eventual physical release. “Aw f—k that Blu-ray is totally gonna say New Avengers isn’t it,” one X / Twitter user wrote, while another responded in a retweet with a pretty killer compromise idea that Marvel might want to steal: “The only way to make this cool would be to make the Thunderbolts logo a sticker that says ‘peel after watching’ and under the sticker is New Avengers.”

#TheNewAvengers pic.twitter.com/ifA1jebPVE

— Marvel Studios* (@MarvelStudios) May 5, 2025

All of this is to say, Marvel has stood behind the notion that Thunderbolts* is still the film’s official title — the “The New Avengers” addition, according to the studio, is just the spelling out of the asterisk at the end of the original title. Clever.

Clown in a Cornfield Review

Clown in a Cornfield opens in theaters May 9.

Some titles let you know exactly what you’re in for, and if Clown in a Cornfield isn’t a memoir by a Midwestern comedian, then it can only be a slasher. Adapted from Adam Cesare’s acclaimed 2020 novel, it’s full of rowdy teens who drink and then die at the hands of, yes, a red-nosed madman in a maize crop. The source material may be shelved in the YA section, but it and its R-rated adaptation pull few punches in terms of death and violence, operating best in the no-nonsense throwback mode that fits the simple, descriptive title. But past the halfway point, Clown in a Cornfield grasps for greater thematic weight, and there it withers, a promising crop that never quite grows to maturity.

Our soon-to-be-final girl is high school senior Quinn Maybrook (Katie Douglas). Originally from Philadelphia, she’s wrestling not just with her mom’s death but with her dad’s (Aaron Abrams) impulsive means of coping by moving them to Kettle Springs, Missouri, where he’s taken a job as the town doctor. That there can be such a thing as a “town doctor” tells you everything you need to know about the size of Kettle Springs. It’s one of those places where everybody knows everybody else, and everybody knows the local teens that Quinn falls in with are trouble. They’re the worst sort of delinquents: YouTubers.

Led by dreamy rich kid Cole Hill (Carson MacCormac), the teens have refashioned local institution Frendo the clown into the grinning star of their DIY horror shorts. The mascot of Kettle Springs’ now-shuttered main source of industry, the Baypen Corn Syrup Factory, Frendo’s face is plastered all over town – a ubiquity that leaves us guessing whether the clown is a supernatural entity or a masked assailant once the murders in the kids’ videos start occurring IRL. Director and co-writer Eli Craig is known for horror comedies like hicksploitation send-up Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, and he clearly has fun conceiving prankish fake-out scares for Cole and company. But aside from a few winks like an ill-fated teen encountering a clown-sized shoeprint, Craig starts out by playing the slasher notes with a reasonably straight face and a smooth competence. There’s no joke to the camera following a victim from one room to the next, toying with our expectations of when (or if) Frendo will strike. Coupled with a strong, likable lead in Quinn, the unvarnished slasher Clown in a Cornfield appears to be during its early stretches is almost comforting.

Unfortunately, there’s a twist lurking on the horizon, and it complicates that unfussy appeal. Without giving too much away, conflict between the kids and adults in Kettle Springs has already reached its boiling point. Quinn clocks it pretty early on – too early, given that she’s only encountered a few of the town’s authority figures. Beyond telegraphing the big reveal, the adaptation also dilutes the political backdrop of Cesare’s source material, muddying the source of generational strife into vague buzzwords and laugh lines.

And that’s the other problem with the latter half of Clown in a Cornfield: The tone gets goofier as it goes along. The circumstances become much more grave, and in the absence of teens kidding around and shooting videos on their phones, Craig’s comic instincts have no outlet except to leak into the action. Multiple deaths are wholly undercut by jokey dialogue, and teens scream in despair when they can’t figure out how to use a rotary phone. A few of these scenes certainly are funny, but they keep puncturing the tension while the plot builds toward mealy-mouthed commentary that’s even harder to take seriously.

But even with the film’s throwback charms, there’s a lingering sense that our pal Frendo has missed his cultural moment, with little to distinguish himself from a long cinematic tradition of masked murderers and/or killer clowns. Apart from one late-film use of a cattle prod, the all-important slasher movie kills here are short on invention, bloody but never visceral or even creative – one is as simple as Frendo firing a crossbow. Clown in a Cornfield can’t help but come off as a bit tame and unremarkable by comparison to the over-the-top clown cruelty of the Terrifier movies or the town-mascot-driven carnage of Thanksgiving. It’s the sort of thing you might half-watch in the background of a Halloween party and never be inspired to ask what the title is – though it’d be pretty easy to guess it.
