Mark Your Calendar: Apple's Key Dates to Watch Over the Next Month

While the first few weeks of 2026 have been relatively slow for Apple, things should start to pick up soon. Apple Creator Studio launches next week, and there are a handful of other items on the company's agenda over the next month.


Below, we have listed key Apple dates to watch through February:


  • Friday, January 23: Apple's retail store at Santa Rosa Plaza in Santa, California is moving to Montgomery Village. The grand opening is at 12 p.m. local time.

  • Wednesday, January 28: Apple Creator Studio launches. The all-in-one subscription bundle provides access to the Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage apps, along with premium content across the Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and Freeform apps. In the U.S., pricing is set at $12.99 per month or $129 per year.

  • Thursday, January 29: Apple will report its earnings results for the first quarter of its 2026 fiscal year, which encompasses the holiday shopping season. Apple updated the iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro with the M5 chip during the quarter. Apple's CEO Tim Cook and CFO Kevan Parekh will discuss the results on a conference call at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. You can listen live on Apple's website.

  • Thursday, February 5: Another four games are coming to Apple Arcade, including Retrocade, an app that lets you play classic arcade games like Asteroids, PAC-MAN, Breakout, Galaga, and Space Invaders. One of the other additions will be an arcade version of the popular PC game Sid Meier's Civilization VII.

  • Friday, February 6: Apple will accept submissions for the 2026 Swift Student Challenge from Friday, February 6 through Saturday, February 28. Some of the winners will be invited to spend three days at Apple Park during WWDC 2026 in June.

  • Sunday, February 8: Apple Music is the official sponsor of the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, set to be held on Sunday, February 8. This year's performer is Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny.

  • Tuesday, February 10: A few years ago, Apple's Home app was rearchitected, and the company will be ending support for the original architecture on this day. If you do not update, Apple warns you might experience issues.

  • Tuesday, February 24: Apple will be holding its annual shareholders meeting at 8 a.m. Pacific Time, and it will once again be held virtually. Apple shareholders of record as of January 2, 2026 can vote to re-elect the company's board of directors, ask questions, and more. Apple rarely answers any questions about future plans, so the meetings are often unremarkable from a news perspective.

Apple Employees Using 'Enchanté' Internal AI Chatbot to Speed Up Work

Apple hasn't developed an AI chatbot for consumers, but it has been using them internally for some time now. Last year, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman detailed a Veritas chatbot to test the new version of Siri, and now Macworld has shared details on two other AI tools that Apple employees are allegedly using.


Enchanté is apparently a chatbot that rolled out to employees in November 2025, and it is an "internal ChatGPT-like assistant" that Apple workers can use for "ideas, development, proofreading, and even general knowledge answers."

The tool is said to look similar to the ChatGPT app for macOS, and it runs models approved by Apple. It is run locally or on private servers, and it incorporates Apple Foundation Models, Claude, and Gemini. Employees can upload documents, images, and files for analysis, and the app can access files stored on a Mac.

Apple encourages employees to use Enchanté as a test platform and for everyday work tasks, because it incorporates Apple internal documentation and guidelines.

The second AI tool that Apple developed is called Enterprise Assistant, and it is designed to be a knowledge hub for corporate employees. Macworld says that it has a database of Apple internal policies, so workers can ask questions about everything from company conduct guidelines to health insurance benefits.

It's no surprise that Apple is using AI tools internally, and there have been reports about Apple testing different AI features and platforms since 2023. In 2024, for example, Apple tested a ChatGPT-like generative AI tool that allows AppleCare employees to speed up technical support.

Apple hasn't rolled out consumer-facing chatbot features as of yet, but it has tested a Support Assistant in the Apple Support app. The Support Assistant uses natural language to provide users with help solving issues with Apple devices.

Later this year, Apple plans to introduce an overhauled version of ‌Siri‌ that's powered by Google Gemini, and it will also incorporate chatbot features.

App Store and Apple TV Experiencing Outage

Apple's App Store, iTunes Store, and Apple TV service are experiencing an outage at the current time, according to Apple's System Status page.


Apple says that some users may be experiencing issues with the ‌App Store‌ and iTunes Store. Apple also says some users may be seeing intermittent issues with ‌Apple TV‌. The ‌Apple TV‌ Channels feature is down too, and users may be unable to access some services or make purchases.

The services have been having issues since 6:48 p.m. Eastern Time. We'll update this article when the outage resolves.

Update 8:15 p.m. ET: iWork for iCloud, Xcode Cloud, and Apple Maps Traffic are also experiencing issues.

Indie hit Sea of Stars comes to Android / iOS in April

Sea of Stars is an indie RPG from Sabotage Studio – the team that brought you 2018’s excellent retro action-platformer The Messenger. Launching to near-universal acclaim back in 2023, the indie game of the year winner received a number of notable updates including the addition of 3-player couch co-op. Following a bout of silence, the team have now announced that Sea of Stars is officially coming to Android and iOS.

Releasing a brief trailer, publisher Playdigious announced that the excellent indie RPG Sea of Stars is officially coming to mobile platforms in a few months’ time – arriving on both Android / iOS on the 7th of April 2026.

Set to cost $9.9https://youtu.be/PsfCcm1PL_k?si=gX-wOCeWGtaWGmN09 ($8.99 with a 10% launch discount), Sea of Stars is said to have been “carefully redesigned for mobile” with the following features:

  • Revamped interface – exclusive mobile UI with complete touch control
  • Google Play Games / iOS achievements
  • Cloud Save – share your progress between devices (within the same OS family)
  • Compatible with controllers

Playdigious is one of the biggest publishers for mobile ports of console games, with the likes of Little Nightmares; Dead Cells; Streets of Rage 4; TMNT Shredder's Revenge and more all being ported over.

As smartphones continue to increase in both power and capability, it is encouraging to see more full-blown games being brought over to the platform.

Google Chrome Is Getting a Safari Data Import Option on iPhone

Chrome for iOS will soon feature an option for iPhone users to import their Safari data into Google's mobile browser, avoiding the need to perform the transfer on desktop.


Starting in Chrome 145, currently in beta, the new feature will guide users through the process of importing bookmarks, browsing history, and passwords from Safari, since Chrome cannot transfer the data directly because of Apple's privacy rules.

The process involves manually exporting Safari browsing data to a zip file downloaded to the user's iPhone, and then selecting the file in Chrome for import using the new option.

Chrome's interface displays a breakdown of what will be imported, before doing so on the user's confirmation, then the browser offers to delete the zip file as a privacy measure.

The feature is currently appearing in the latest version of Chrome 145 in TestFlight, so it should begin to roll out with the next stable release.

Division series boss Julian Gerighty departs Ubisoft to lead EA’s Battlefield Studios

Julian Gerighty, the creative director and executive producer of Tom Clancy's The Division franchise, has officially resigned from Ubisoft to join Electronic Arts' Battlefield Studios. Massive Entertainment confirmed the news this week, marking the end of Gerighty's extensive tenure at the studio, where he was a key figure shaping the first two Division games and leading the creative direction for Star Wars Outlaws.

While Gerighty recently teased that The Division 3 was “shaping up to be a monster”, his departure means he will no longer be at the helm to see the project through to its completion. Instead, he will transition to a leadership role within EA's Battlefield team, though his specific title has not yet been confirmed. Ubisoft's leadership has moved quickly to reassure fans and investors that the series remains in capable hands. The publisher emphasised that the vision for the franchise remains unchanged despite the loss of its primary creative face. Massive Entertainment's statement on the topic can be found below:

Gerighty himself also shared a message to the community on X, expressing confidence in the franchise's future and noting that it was simply time for “another grand adventure” after over 27 years at the company.

This move comes at a juncture for both gaming giants. Ubisoft has been grappling with a prolonged slump that led to its stock being temporarily halted on Euronext in late 2025. While Assassin's Creed Shadows provided a much-needed commercial boost last year, the group has faced significant layoffs and studio closures as part of a major internal restructuring. On the other side of the industry, EA's Battlefield Studios is still navigating the tragic loss of Vince Zampella, who passed away following a car accident in December 2025. Bringing in a veteran with Gerighty's expertise could be just what EA needs as it looks to expand the Battlefield franchise and fill the leadership gap left by one of the industry's most influential figures.

No Rest for the Wicked hits 1 million sales ahead of ‘Together’ update

Moon Studios has officially announced that No Rest for the Wicked has reached the milestone of one million copies sold in its PC Early Access version. This achievement was reached on Steam just days before the launch of the “Together” update, scheduled for January 22nd.

In an official statement, the developer thanked the community for believing in the project from the start, emphasising that player support was instrumental in shaping the action RPG into its current form. The studio, famously known for the Ori franchise, reinforced that the world of Wicked will become significantly larger and more shared with the arrival of new social features next week.

The “Together” update promises to redefine the gameplay experience by introducing a cooperative system for up to four players in persistent Realms. Unlike other titles in the genre, players can share a world without a host being online, enabling independent progression. Combat has also received significant adjustments, featuring improved AI that allows enemies to react naturally and desperately when cornered or outnumbered and friendly fire in online mode.

Beyond battles, users can collaborate on housing construction, craft items through the Scribe Table and explore the new Compendium. Originally released in April 2024, the game continues to expand steadily, with full versions planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

It Takes Two closes in on 27 million copies sold

Over the past decade Josef Fares has made a name for himself in the video games industry not only due to his unique personality, but thanks to the creator’s constant push towards innovating in the co-op space, with each successive project receiving higher praise than the last. While Fares and Hazelight Studios’ latest release Split Fiction continues to find a growing audience, the team’s previous project – It Takes Two – is nearing another massive sales milestone.

In an interview conducted by Christopher Dring of TheGameBusiness, Hazelight Studios CEO Josef Fares spoke on a wide range of topics including 2025’s GOTY winner Clair Obscur: Expedition 33; the state of the industry, generative AI and more.

In discussing Hazelight’s last game prior to Split Fiction – It Takes Two – Fares revealed that the 2021 game of the year winner is continuing to sell millions of copies, confirming that the co-op title is now closing in on hitting 27 million copies sold.

While an incredible achievement in its own right, as with many of Hazelight’s games, It Takes Two included a friends pass allowing you to play through the whole game online with a friend without them needing to own a copy. This means that at this point over 50 million people have experienced the game.

Considering the fact that the game is set to receive an adaptation of some kind at some point (though we have heard little from the project since its initial announcement), It Takes Two will likely continue to sell well for many more years.
