How to Get a Discount on Paramount+ After the Price Increase

23 janvier 2026 à 00:00

Paramount+ has just gone through its first price increase since 2024, and the change is happening just ahead of UFC 324 coming to the platform. If you're new to the streaming service or looking to return, you're probably wondering if there's a way to save some money on a subscription right now.

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any promo codes or coupon offers going on today. That's not to say there isn't any way to get a discounted subscription, but the usual special promotions for any of the Paramount+ plans are non-existent right now. What's more, the long-standing Paramount+ free trial has officially been removed alongside the price increase. With those things in mind, here are the options available right now.

Paramount+ Deals for January 2026

There are currently only two ways to save on a subscription: Signing up as a student or opting for an annual plan.

Students Get 50% Off

The best Paramount+ deal available right now is specifically for students. If you can verify that you'll be enrolled as a student for a year, you will be eligible for a 50% discount on any of the Paramount+ plans. The offer is only valid for the first 12 months of the subscription and the student has to be at least 18 years old to get the discount. Paramount+ uses a website called SheerID to verify that you are indeed enrolled as a student.

Once the 12 months are up, you will be charged the full amount for the subscription regardless of your student status.

Save on Annual Plans

Your other option for saving money is to just sign up for an annual subscription plan rather than monthly. You can currently sign up for an annual Paramount+ Premium subscription for $139.99 a year or grab a Paramount+ Essential plan for $89.99 per year. Here's a quick breakdown of what the savings looks like compared to a monthly plan over that same 12 month period:

  • Paramount+ Premium Annual Plan - Save $27.89 over 12 months
  • Paramount+ Essential Plan - Save $17.89 over 12 months

Paramount+ Free Trial Option

As of January 15, Paramount+ is no longer directly offering a free trial to new subscribers. With that being said, you can still get a free trial of the service via a Walmart+ subscription.

Walmart+ Free Trial

Walmart+ has a 30-day free trial option for new subscribers. One of the benefits of this subscription is access to a Paramount+ Essentials plan, so you can test out the service for a full 30 days with this method. Walmart+ also allows you to switch between a Paramount+ and a Peacock Premium subscription every 90 days, so overall it's one of the best streaming bundles available in 2026.

How to Cancel Your Disney+ Subscription in 2026

21 janvier 2026 à 19:28

Disney Plus raised the prices for its subscription service plans last year. With the ad-free version of the subscription now costing $18.99 per month, you may be thinking about leaving the service behind.

Although Disney Plus has become the only reliable source for Disney content, including all things Star Wars as well as the MCU, an increaseed cost will likely result in some subscribers leaving the streaming service for an alternative. If you are somebody trying to figure out how to cancel your Disney+ subscription, we've got you covered with step-by-step instructions below as well as potential alternatives.

How to Cancel Disney Plus

Canceling your Disney Plus subscription is really easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Login to our Dinsey Plus account either online or via your moblie app.
  2. Select or hover over your 'Profile'
  3. Select 'Account' from the Menu
  4. Select your subscription under 'Subscription'
  5. Select 'Cancel Subscription'
  6. Select 'Cancel Subscription' again to officially cancel payments

You can also choose the 'Change Subscription' option to adjust your plan to a cheaper version.

What are Some Good Disney Plus Alternatives?

The Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max Bundle

The Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max bundle is by far the overall best bundle to subscribe to with pricing starting at $19.99/month for an ad-supported tier. (Going ad-free on all three platforms will bump up the price to $32.99/month.) If you don't want to lose access to Disney+, this bundle is overall the best deal in streaming.

The Disney Plus and Hulu Bundle

The cost of a basic Disney Plus membership is currently $11.99 per month, which allows access to content with ads. For just $1 more, you can get the Disney+ bundle that gives you access to Hulu content as well.

This is likely the best option if you're looking to get the most bang for you buck as a 'new subscriber'. You'll get access to new Marvel shows, Hulu Originals, Star Wars shows and more for $12.99 a month while retaining your Disney Plus membership. If you'd like to see more bundle options, make sure to check out our roundup of the best Disney Plus deals and bundles.

Apple TV+

If you're looking to cut down your streaming budget significantly, one of the cheapest services currently available is Apple TV+. You can get a free 7-day trial to test it out and then pay only $12.99 a month. There is also an option to get 3 months of the service for free when you purchase an Apple device. These are some of the best free trials on a streaming service you'll find.

Although Apple TV+ doesn't offer a massive library of content like Netflix or Disney Plus, it has some of the best original shows and movies of the year. If you already have an Apple TV+ subscription and want to reduce your costs further, you can also take a look at our guide to cancelling Apple TV.

Netflix

Netflix is the biggest streaming platform out there with more original content than anybody could want. You can get a basic subscription for $7.99 a month or upgrade to Standard ($17.99) or Premium ($24.99) to get access to more features. Similar to Disney Plus, the main draw of this streaming subscription is the incredible backlog of good Netflix movies and original shows.

If you already have a Netflix subscription and are trying to cut the cost of your streaming bill, however, you can take a look at our guide to cancelling Netflix for help with that.

Amazon Prime Video

If you already have an Amazon Prime subscription, that means access to Prime Video is already available to you. The added benefits of Amazon Prime Video being already wrapped up into your Amazon membership is that you also get the benefit of renting On Demand movies online.

If you're looing to cancel even more services to make room in your budget, however, you can take a look at our guide to cancelling Amazon Prime as well.

The First New Dresden Files Book in Almost Six Years Is Now Available

21 janvier 2026 à 00:39

Jim Butcher has been writing The Dresden Files books for over 25 years now. I first started reading this series back in the early 2000s and found myself immediately enamored with story and overall vibe. It's got magic, it's got mystery, and it's all wrapped up in a neat little detective format that is hard to put down. If you're looking for some contemporary fantasy to binge read, I highly recommend diving into this series.

As of January 20, 2026 The Dresden Files has 18 novels in the series. The latest title, Twelve Months, has finally arrived almost six years after the previous entry.

Twelve Months (The Dresden Files, #18) by Jim Butcher

I would consider myself a Dresden fan, but I'll be the first to admit that I don't really remember what happened back in book 17. This six year gap between books is the longest break we've ever had and it has me seriously considering starting the series all over again before reading Twelve Months. Whether you're new to the series or just diving back in after a while, here's a quick rundown of the reading order so far:

Unfortunately, The Dresden Files books are not currently available as part of a Kindle Unlimited subscription.

What's it about?

For those who don't remember where exactly we are in Harry Dresden's story for Twelve Months, you can check out the official synopsis from the Penguin Random House website:

"One year. 365 days. Twelve months.

Harry Dresden has been through a lot, and so has his city. After Harry and his allies narrowly managed to save Chicago from being razed to the ground, everything is different—and it’s not just the current lack of electricity.

In the battle, Harry lost people he cared about. And that’s the kind of loss that takes a toll. Harry being Harry, he’s doing his level best to help the city and his friends recover and rebuild. But it’s a heavy load, and he needs time.

But time is one thing Harry doesn’t have. Ghouls are prowling Chicago and taking out innocent civilians. Harry’s brother is dying, and Harry doesn’t know how to help him. And last but certainly not least, the Winter Queen of the Fae has allied with the White Court of vampires—and Harry’s been betrothed to the seductive, deadly vampire Lara Raith to seal the deal.

It’s been a tough year. More than ever, the city needs Harry Dresden the wizard—but after loss and grief, is there enough left of Harry Dresden the man to rise to the challenge?"

The Future of The Dresden Files

Although we had to wait almost six years for book 18, it's looking like there's going to be less of a wait for book 19. We don't yet have a release date for the next entry in the series, but we do already have a title from the author himself. According to the upcoming works section of Jim Butcher's website, the next title in the series is Mirror Mirror. The Goodreads page for the book says it's expected at some point in 2027, which may mor may not be accurate.

That's currently all that's planned for this series as of right now. As much as I'd like a redo of the absolutely terrible Dresden Files TV show that came out back in 2007, it doesn't seem like any such thing is in the works.
