Cops received a 911 call just after 7 p.m. about a man who was spotted waving a gun at people near East 107th Street and Madison Avenue in Manhattan, according to sources and the NYPD.

A friend described the victim, a married dad to three young kids, as a hard-working man and "the best guy."

"That’s actually nasty. I can smell it as soon as I walk out of the elevator. Almost taste it," a police officer exiting the building said of the stench.
