"After several decades, this defendant will finally face charges of violently raping at least five women, some at gunpoint, between the years 1995 and 1997 in southeast Queens," the Queens DA said.
Rammy Lopez, 32, of Brooklyn, allegedly whacked a 7-year-old boy as he walked with his 3-year-old sister and babysitter on a day off from school, around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to his mom, who declined to give her name.
The attacker – described as an “emotionally disturbed person” – struck the toddler girl and school-aged boy in the face around 12:30 p.m. at West 21st Street and 10th Avenue in Hudson Yards, according to authorities and sources.
Demitri Marshall, 32 – who has seven prior arrests – was picked up by cops several hours after cops say he cut the 27-year-old man across his face without warning on Canal Street near Essex Street, just outside the East Broadway train station.
The suspect – who investigators believe robbed longtime Washington Heights building owner Jose Antonio Tur of $20,000 in rent payments on Sept. 22 – was taken into custody in Philly a week after the attack, on Sept. 29, according to the sources.
