Ruling by California judge applies to thousands of employees dismissed from six federal agencies

A federal judge in California granted a preliminary injunction to reinstate thousands of fired probationary workers at federal agencies as part of a lawsuit filed by the American Federation of Government Employees.

The ruling by the judge William H Alsup in the US district court for the northern district of California applies to fired probationary employees at the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, Department of the Interior and the Department of the Treasury.

Texas megachurch founder Robert Morris indicted in Oklahoma on five counts over alleged misconduct in 1982

The Texas megachurch founder and pastor Robert Morris has been indicted on five criminal counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child, from incidents that occurred in Oklahoma in the 1980s.

A multi-county grand jury issued an indictment on 12 March, which alleges Morris was a traveling evangelist visiting in Hominy, Oklahoma, with the family of the alleged victim in December 1982. The indictment alleges Morris’s sexual misconduct began that Christmas and continued over four years. The alleged victim was 12 years old at the time and Morris was 21 years old.

Mahmoud Khalil was detained by Ice agents on Saturday, part of Trump’s crackdown on pro-Palestinian campus protesters

Mahmoud Khalil’s wife, who is now eight months pregnant, issued a statement on Tuesday night after the Columbia University graduate student and activist was arrested in New York by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) as part of the Trump administration’s attempt to revoke his green card and have him deported.

“I am pleading with the world to continue to speak up against his unjust and horrific detention by the Trump administration,” Khalil’s wife, who is a US citizen, said in her statement, remaining anonymous for fear of harassment.

Trump calls Tesla boycott ‘illegal’ and says he’s buying one to support Musk

Standing in the driveway of the White House with Tesla vehicles, Trump said he would label violence against the company’s showrooms as domestic terrorism

Donald Trump said he is buying a “brand new Tesla” and blamed “Radical Left Lunatics” for “illegally” boycotting Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company. The announcement came a day after Tesla suffered its worst share price fall in nearly five years.

Later, the president also said he would label violence against Tesla showrooms as domestic terrorism. Trump was responding to a question during a Tuesday press conference, in which a reporter said, “Talk to us about some of the violence that’s been going on around the country at Tesla dealerships. Some say they should be labeled domestic terrorists.”
