Rayman 2: The Great Escape is coming to Nintendo Switch Online

11 décembre 2025 à 15:00

For the past generation or so, Nintendo has been slowly but surely filling out its Nintendo Switch Online libraries with titles from across the company’s many classic consoles. Alongside first-party titles, NSO also includes select 3rd-party classics. Joining the service as part of the latter camp is Ubisoft’s Rayman, with ‘The Great Escape’ and sister series ‘Tonic Trouble’ set to arrive next week.

Making the announcement via a brief ‘Game Update’ video, Nintendo confirmed that the N64 classics Rayman 2: The Great Escape alongside Tonic Trouble are both heading to its NSO service next week on the 17th of December.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape is of course the second mainline entry in the Rayman series. Unlike the first game’s sidescrolling aesthetic, Rayman 2 took the series into 3D, with the 1999 title seeing strong reviews upon its initial release.

Tonic Trouble meanwhile is a sister-series of sorts to Rayman, with the Ubisoft-developed title serving as an engine tech project created in anticipation of their work on Rayman 2.

Both Tonic Trouble and Rayman The Great Escape are set to join Nintendo Switch Online this time next week on the 17th of December for all those subscribed to NSO’s Expansion Pack tier.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag ‘Resynced’ has been rated by PEGI

10 décembre 2025 à 16:00

Back in early 2024, a rumour first popped up claiming that Ubisoft had greenlit the development of an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake. Since then, we’ve heard various bits and bobs surrounding the project – including the extent to which they plan to alter the game’s overall formula alongside its expected release date. While Ubisoft themselves have yet to make any official announcements, a listing for ‘Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’ has popped up on game rating boards.

As discovered by ResetEra user ‘–R’ the Pan-European Game Information (PEGI) ratings board has published a listing to their site for a game titled ‘Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’.

Though the page is no longer accessible, its listing seems to suggest that an official announcement from Ubisoft is imminent.

Black Flag Resynced

As mentioned, talk surrounding a Black Flag remake has persisted for a couple years now, with recent claims suggesting that the project could arrive as soon as March of 2026.

Given the fact that this supposed remake has now been publicly listed, it seems only a matter of time before the title is officially announced – perhaps during the 2025 Game Awards? We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru says: Do you have high hopes for the Black Flag remake? What do you think of the name? What other AC titles would you want to see get the full remake treatment? Let us know down below.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake WON’T be at The Game Awards claims Ubisoft

8 décembre 2025 à 16:00

Over the past couple weeks, we’ve heard an increasing amount of talk surrounding Ubisoft’s long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, with insiders claiming that the title is set to arrive as early as next month. While many believed that the remake would be officially shown off at the upcoming Game Awards, Ubisoft has now set expectations straight.

As talk surrounding the potential re-reveal of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake at the upcoming Game Awards has been increasing, the official PoP Twitter account responded to one fan page which suggested as much, writing:

“Sorry to disappoint, but can confirm Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time won’t be at TGA this year.”

Prince of Persia Game Awards

Though a detail based on omission rather than confirmation, it is interesting to note that the account did not refute the rumoured release date of the 16th of January.

That said, assuming the remake is planned for mid-January, Ubisoft won’t have much time to begin showing off and marketing the title, especially if it indeed won’t be at The Game Awards.

Perhaps we will get a dedicated showcase sometime in the early days of the new year? We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru says: Do you believe in the leaked release date? What are your expectations for the remake? Let us know down below.

First wave of Activision titles land on Ubisoft+ streaming service

5 décembre 2025 à 18:30

Ubisoft has officially begun integrating Activision Blizzard titles into Ubisoft+ Premium, marking the first tangible result of the cloud-streaming rights deal secured in August 2023. The publisher has confirmed that the first batch of games is available to stream starting today, initially launching via an integration with Nvidia GeForce Now.

This expansion is a direct consequence of the agreement made during Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, under which Ubisoft secured perpetual cloud-streaming rights to the studio's catalogue. Chris Early, Ubisoft's Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, noted that this move is intended to strengthen the service's content offering and allow the publisher to license these titles to other cloud providers and console makers. While GeForce Now is the first platform to support this integration, Ubisoft has stated that these games will become available via other cloud providers in the future.

The initial lineup of Activision games available to stream includes some of the publisher's biggest hits. Subscribers can now access the standard editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, as well as the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which includes Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped. Similarly, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy is now available, offering the remastered versions of Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage!, and Year of the Dragon.

Ubisoft has confirmed that this is just the beginning, with more titles from both Activision and Blizzard expected to join the Ubisoft+ Premium catalogue in the coming months.

KitGuru says: Are you subscribed to Ubisoft+ Premium? What other Activision games would you like to see on the platform?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake release date has leaked

2 décembre 2025 à 15:00

Over the past week we’ve heard an increasing amount regarding the long-awaited and ever-elusive Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. First announced all the way back in 2020 alongside a 2021 release date, negative reactions toward the trailer led to Ubisoft ultimately rebooting the project. While we have yet to see anything from this new version of the remake, recent leaks suggesting the game is arriving early next year have now been corroborated – with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake said to be launching on the 16th of January.

This past week, notable leakers insider-gaming published an article claiming that the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake would be arriving some time in mid-January of 2026.

Now, not only has this been corroborated, but also elaborated upon, with trusted insider Tom Henderson giving us an exact date: The 16th of January 2026.

Prince of Persia Sands of Time

Officially, we’ve heard little from the project since the initial re-reveal teaser back in 2024 – though the team did release a statement earlier this Summer to say “we’re still deep in the game — exploring, building, and ensuring the sands move with purpose. This game is being crafted by a team that truly cares, and they're pouring their hearts (and a lot of coffee) into every step. Thank you for sticking with us.”

Given the fact that the Sands of Time Remake was delayed, retooled and rebooted as a result of reactions to the trailer, it will be highly interesting to see just how different this take on the remake winds up being when it is shown off; likely during The Game Awards.

KitGuru says: Have you been waiting for the Sands of Time remake? Did the original attempt look that bad to you? Can a remake live up to the original? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to be re-revealed at The Game Awards

30 novembre 2025 à 13:30

Despite originally being announced in 2020, Ubisoft was forced to take its remake of The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time back to the drawing board after fans lambasted the artistic direction shown in the reveal trailer. Now all these years later, it looks like the wait for the new and improved version is finally ending.

According to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, the Prince of Persia remake is set to launch in mid-January. The re-reveal of the game is said to be one of the major announcements planned for The Game Awards this year.

Ubisoft has been very quiet publicly about the remake and considering how much time has passed since the original announcement, it seems likely that they throughout the original version entirely and started over from scratch, explaining the five-year gap.

The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was co-developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto. If this information is all accurate, then we should finally see the new version of the remake during The Game Awards on December 11th.

KitGuru Says: The original reveal was a disaster so hopefully Ubisoft managed to get things right this time around.

Ubisoft details the Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows

28 novembre 2025 à 12:00

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to 3rd party titles. While some ports have gone above and beyond, others are barely even matching the visual quality of generations-old hardware. One publisher which has shown strong support for the Switch 2 so far is Ubisoft – with the company now fully detailing all the optimisations made for the upcoming port of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The recent release of 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot on the Nintendo Switch 2 has been met with some controversy, with the tech analysts at Digital Foundry confirming that aside from a locked 60fps, the Switch 2 version of the decade-old game in some ways is inferior to the original release on PS3.

Whether it be as a direct result of this revelation, or simply good timing, Ubisoft have now published a blog post detailing all of the work which they have put in to make the upcoming Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows as close as possible to their PS5/Series X|S counter parts, writing:

“Behind the scenes, bringing such a large and detailed open world – originally developed for current-gen home consoles – to Switch 2 required one of Ubisoft's most ambitious technical undertakings to date. The result is a seamless, high-fidelity experience, whether you're playing in handheld or docked mode.”

Switch 2 Shadows

Going into specifics, Ubisoft confirmed that the Switch 2 version of Shadows will retain many of the home console features, including “the same cloud and cloth simulation systems,” a slightly lower quality “solid baked Global Illumination” (similar to the Series S version) as well as DLSS – allowing for “a sharper image, with more accurate colors, improved textures, and fewer visual anomalies” while maintaining their target of 30fps.

Of course, there will be a bunch of various nips and tucks made in order to optimise the experience (such as slight adjustments to LODs, draw distance; texture resolution NPC counts and more), but overall it seems as though Ubisoft went through the game with a fine-toothed comb in order to ensure Assassin’s Creed Shadows feels like a comparable experience on Nintendo’s latest handheld. It will be interesting to get a more in-depth comparison when the game launches on Switch 2 in early December.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Ubisoft’s support for Switch 2 so far? Are they the best 3rd party dev in this regard? Let us know down below.

Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed Shadows won’t be getting an expansion next year

28 novembre 2025 à 11:15

Ubisoft games typically offer a similar level of post-launch support across the board, with a majority of their titles including a Season Pass with a couple expansions alongside smaller content updates. While the team already shared their year one roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows promising that there will be more to come, it appears as though plans for a year-two expansion have now been cancelled.

In an interview with the RPG-focused YouTuber JorRaptor (transcribed by IGN), Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois confirmed that September’s Claws of Awaji expansion will be the only one of its kind for AC: Shadows, stating: “As of now, at this moment for Year Two, there is no expansion on the size of Awaji that is planned.”

Explaining this decision, Comtois continued, “We're still working on content for post-launch and supporting it, but it's not a full-on DLC the way a season pass would have had in the previous years,” adding that “we're trying to re-adjust for Year Two a little bit. There's learning from Year One we can apply to Year Two. Any content we want to do in Year Two will probably be more sparse, not a drip-feed… but chunkier updates that shake things up a little more. I'm not announcing anything at this point but our strategy for Year One was to be quick and reactive, so it means smaller drops often, but for Year Two we don't need to put fires out or anything, so it's more what good, chunky little piece of meat… we can drop and have people come back and enjoy it.”

Shadows Expansion

Additional comments on their post-launch mentality with AC: Shadows can be found HERE, including discussions surrounding the game’s engine, dev time and more.

The strategy taken with Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been rather different when compared to other AC entries. Be it due to low pre-orders, series fatigue or whatever other reason, Ubisoft made major alterations to their Season Pass plans, announcing prior to the game’s release that they would be making the aforementioned Claws of Awaji expansion free for all those who pre-ordered.

Whether this is the primary reason for their change in post-release plans is unknown, but it will be interesting to see what this means for year two of Assassin’s Creed Shadows – and whether breaking away from the formula will wind up working in their favour.

KitGuru says: What do you think of AC: Shadows’ post-launch so far? Do you enjoy the typical Season Pass model of prior Assassin’s Creed titles? Let us know down below.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 gets surprising update via Ubisoft job listing

26 novembre 2025 à 15:45

We are approaching a decade since Ubisoft re-revealed Beyond Good and Evil 2. Unfortunately, since then there have been absolutely no official updates and in 2025, the game appears to be no closer to release. Fans may have some room for optimism, however, as new job listings show that development is continuing.

Ubisoft Montpellier is now hiring for a technical sound designer, with the job description specifying that the role is for the Beyond Good and Evil 2 project. Better yet, the job listing actually gives us a bit of a description on what the game will actually be:

“Beyond Good & Evil 2 is an action-adventure open world game set in a captivating space opera universe and the direct prequel to the 2003 cult classic. Based on a breakthrough technology driven by the proprietary Voyager engine, Beyond Good & Evil 2 aims to offer a seamless experience of exploration and space piracy across a solar system full of exotic locations, colorful characters and mysteries to uncover, solo or with friends. So, if you are ready for an adventure like no other, come join forces with us to build System 3!”

The person who lands the sound designer role will be responsible for creating audio assets and integrating audio designs into the game using a mix of middleware and the game's proprietary engine. It is entirely possible that this proprietary engine is part of the reason that the project has taken so long. Games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Halo Infinite also ran into many delays due to the need to develop engine technology alongside the games themselves.

Ubisoft has not provided an official update on Beyond Good and Evil 2 for years and the last time we saw the game was way back in 2017. Fortunately, it does sound like the creative team now has a concrete idea in place and is moving towards production, which means the final game could be just a few more years away. Typically, a technical sound designer would join a project during the production phase, so the wheels are definitely turning after years of apparent stagnation.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: Beyond Good and Evil first released way back in 2003 and fans have been asking for a sequel ever since. It is still unclear when the game will resurface, but this latest update is promising.

Long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to release soon

26 novembre 2025 à 10:45

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has had an unfortunate development. First announced in late 2020 alongside a January 2021 launch date, reactions to the announcement trailer were far from positive, leading the publisher to delay the title. Since then, the Sands of Time remake has been delayed, delayed again, switched developers, delayed, rebooted, and then finally re-revealed in 2024 (with a couple more delays sprinkled in). The journey may finally be over soon however, with the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake said to be launching as soon as this January.

As reported by known leakers Insider-Gaming, Ubisoft has penned a release window for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in mid-January of 2026.

Interestingly, we have yet to see anything from the game ever since its initial (now redundant) trailer – with the The Sands of Time Remake’s re-reveal offering little more than a cinematic logo unveiling alongside the vague release year of 2026.

Sands of Time January

That said, the publisher did recently comment on the project, stating back in June that “we’re still deep in the game — exploring, building, and ensuring the sands move with purpose. This game is being crafted by a team that truly cares, and they're pouring their hearts (and a lot of coffee) into every step. Thank you for sticking with us.”

Additionally, Ubisoft revealed during their Fiscal Earnings report back in May that The Sands of Time Remake is planned to arrive during the Fiscal Year 2025-26 (April 2025 – March 2026), lending further credence to this newly-reported release window.

Given the overwhelming reaction to their first attempt at a Sands of Time remake, it will be interesting to see how this rebooted project winds up looking like. Hopefully we will get our first proper taste of the title during the upcoming 2025 Game Awards.
