Biggest No Man’s Sky update arrives with ‘Worlds Part II’

30 janvier 2025 à 11:00

In the almost decade-long redemption arc for Hello Games and No Man’s Sky, the game has received countless transformative updates – from visual overhauls to engine optimisations, new features and so much more. One of the biggest came with Part 1 of the Worlds Update, released back in July. Less than a year later, and the concluding half to this major overhaul is now here.

Releasing the surprise update (as they have done for years now), Hello Games officially unveiled update 5.5 – ‘Worlds Part II’, transforming the universe with “with new stars, new story, and new planets.”

As with pretty much every single No Man’s Sky update, the list of changes and additions are far too many to list here, however, some of the most notable include:

  • Evolved world generation algorithm bringing new mountains, valleys, plains and more
  • New Purple-class solar systems
  • Incredibly deep oceans
  • Gas Giant planets
  • Expanded story
  • Dense jungles
  • Revamped local hazards
  • Graphics overhaul
  • Relic Worlds
  • Dynamic water simulation
  • Spore Worlds
  • Faster loading

As mentioned, this is but a small taste of the hundreds of major and minor additions/changes made with this latest update. The full and incredibly exhaustive list can be found HERE.

With every new update to No Man’s Sky, it feels as though Hello Games have finished turning the title into the ultimate form of itself. Yet, they somehow managed to continue to surprise and delight every single time.

Hogwarts Legacy is about to get that bit more magical with its upcoming update launching on January 30th. Portkey Games is adding a Creator Kit and an in-game Mod Manager to Hogwarts Legacy, allowing you to easily create and manage mods.

Warner Bros. Games has announced that Hogwarts Legacy will receive this new update on January 30th, allowing players to customise and expand their wizarding world adventures in countless ways. The publisher has released a new PC trailer (below) to celebrate the announcement, showcasing modding possibilities, from replacing your broom with a dragon to creating entire dungeons and quests.

The free update will introduce the Hogwarts Legacy Creation Kit, a comprehensive set of tools that empowers modders to modify and expand the game. This includes the ability to tweak gameplay mechanics, create new quests, design custom cosmetics, and develop new gameplay elements.

The January 30th update could also support Nvidia's new DLSS 4 upscaling technology. This will allow RTX 50 series GPU owners to take advantage of DLSS Multi-Frame Generation for even smoother performance, while users with older RTX GPUs can benefit from the enhanced image quality of the new transformer model.

KitGuru says: Are you returning to Hogwarts Legacy to try the new modding tools? What mods would you like to see for the game?
