L'UE autorise l'offre de Safran auprès de l'américain Collins Aerospace

(Reuters) - La Commission européenne annonce vendredi avoir donné son feu vert à l'offre d'achat de 1,66 milliard d'euros formulée par Safran pour une partie de l'activité d'actionnement de Collins Aerospace. L'exécutif européen estime que la proposition de Safran de céder l'ensemble de son activité d'actionnement électromécanique (THSA) nord-américaine, au titre des mesures correctives, "remédie pleinement aux problèmes de concurrence recensés par la Commission en supprimant totalement les chevauchements entre les activités THSA des parties", peut-on lire dans un communiqué. Safran a annoncé la vente de cette activité en décembre dernier.

(Reuters) - Les géants technologiques américains, plus particulièrement Apple, sont attendus en forte baisse jeudi à l'ouverture de la Bourse de New York, après l'annonce par le président Donald Trump de droits de douane de 34% sur les produits en provenance de Chine. Les contrats à terme montrent qu'à l'ouverture de Wall Street Apple devrait chuter de 6,9%, Amazon de 5,1%, Meta Platforms de 3,2%, Alphabet de 2,3% et Microsoft de 1,8%. L'indice Dow Jones est attendu en repli de 2,69%, le Standard & Poor's 500 en baisse de 3,33% et le Nasdaq en retrait de 3,73%.

Stocks dived and investors scrambled to the safety of bonds, gold and the yen on Thursday as Donald Trump unveiled a bigger-than-expected wall of tariffs around the world’s largest economy, upending trade and supply chains.

The technology sector was pummelled as manufacturing hubs in China and Taiwan faced new tariffs above 30%. In total, China now faces an eye-watering 54% in tariffs on its exports to the US.

José Mourinho appeared to grab the nose of the opposing manager, Galatasaray’s Okan Buruk, amid wild scenes at the end of Fenerbahce’s 2-1 Turkish Cup defeat to their bitter rivals.

Video footage showed Mourinho appearing to pinch Buruk’s nose after the final whistle, with the Galatasaray head coach falling to the pitch and holding his face in his hands. Buruk was left lying on his back as Mourinho was dragged away, following an ill-tempered game where three players were sent off from the bench.

Aux États-Unis, elle sera vendue 449,99 dollars (environ 414 euros), tandis qu'au Japon, son prix variera entre 49.980 yens (334,09 dollars) pour la version japonaise et 69.980 yens pour la version multilingue. "Le prix est un peu plus élevé que ce qui était largement attendu", a déclaré Serkan Toto, fondateur du cabinet de conseil Kantan Games.

Former Costa Rican president and Nobel winner Óscar Arias said on Tuesday that the US had revoked his visa to enter the country, weeks after he criticized Donald Trump on social media saying he was behaving like “a Roman emperor”.

Arias, 84, was president between 1986 and 1990 and again between 2006 and 2010. A self-declared pacifist, he won the 1987 Nobel peace prize for his role in brokering peace during the Central American conflicts of the 1980s.

Elon Musk’s cost-cutting team is finalizing the dismantlement of the US Agency for International Development, ordering the firings of thousands of local workers and US diplomats and civil servants assigned to the agency overseas, two former top USAID officials and a source with knowledge of the situation said on Tuesday.

On Friday, Congress was notified that almost all of USAID’s own employees were being fired by September, all of its overseas offices shut, and some functions absorbed into the state department.

Dans un communiqué, Softbank a indiqué avoir accepté de financer OpenAI à hauteur de 10 milliards de dollars à la mi-avril et de 30 milliards de dollars supplémentaires en décembre, à condition que la société d'IA devienne une entreprise à but lucratif d'ici la fin de l'année. SoftBank prévoit de syndiquer 10 milliards de dollars de son investissement total à d'autres co-investisseurs que le groupe n'a pas nommés.

Momodou Taal, a doctoral candidate in Africana studies and dual citizen of the UK and the Gambia, has participated in pro-Palestinian protests against Israel’s war in Gaza after the October 2023 Hamas attack. His attorneys said last month that he was asked to turn himself in and that his student visa was being revoked.
