Free-To-Play VR FPS Starvault Enters Full Release Today

27 novembre 2025 à 18:00

Starvault, a competitive 5v5 VR shooter with MOBA elements, enters full release today on Quest.

Previously available in early access, Starvault by Theia Games is a first-person team-based game that aims to mix gameplay mechanics from hero shooters and MOBAs (multiplayer online battle arenas). Set in a sci-fi fantasy universe, this takes place across 5v5 battles where you pick one of 12 champions with varying weapons, abilities, and playstyles.

Set across large battlefields, this involves pushing through enemy lanes as you capture vision obelisks to gain map control before eventually taking down the opposing team's Energy Core. Defeating enemies and clearing camps awards experience points and credits, which can then be used for unlocking abilities or buying artifacts.

Regarding what's new with the Version 1.0 launch, Theia Games didn't elaborate on specifics before today's launch. The studio confirmed that it'll remain free-to-play with the full release, and it's getting a “full Battle Pass system” with more cosmetics. Promised improvements were also mentioned for stability, progression, and “overall gameplay feel.”

We had positive impressions when the open beta originally launched, believing Theia Games was “taking steps in the right direction to find its audience.” We criticized its lack of a memorable soundtrack, and though we've yet to see if that's been addressed with the full release, we considered Starvault to be a “valiant effort” making effective use of VR.

Starvault enters full release today on the wider Meta Quest platform, while a PC VR release is also planned in Q1 2026.

Bootstrap Island Charts A Course For PlayStation VR2 In 2026

27 novembre 2025 à 14:08

VR survival game Bootstrap Island is heading to PlayStation VR2 next year.

Launched in early access last year on Steam, Bootstrap Island is a 17th-century survival game where you play as Daniel, a castaway who's become stranded on a tropical island. Featuring a reactive roguelike environment with different biomes, a day-and-night cycle, shelter building, progression systems, and more, that's now heading to PS VR2 in 2026.

Announcement trailer

Revealing more about this upcoming port on PlayStation Blog, developer Maru VR detailed its planned PlayStation VR2-specific features. Bootstrap Island will use eye tracking for foveated rendering, headset haptic feedback during storms and near-death encounters, and adaptive trigger support for your weapons.

Today's news follows this month's PC VR launch of the Visions update, which marks Bootstrap Island's last major update before next year's full release. This introduced a new sickness and hallucinations system that warps reality as the illness spreads, a story-driven tutorial that reveals more about Daniel's backstory, new environmental features, and more.

Bootstrap Island: Visions is now live on Steam Early Access, with a full release targeting Q1 2026. The PlayStation VR2 edition will follow “in 2026,” though it's unclear if this will arrive simultaneously with the PC VR edition's full release.

Ghost Town Gets PlayStation VR2 Launch Next Week

27 novembre 2025 à 12:19

Ghost Town, one of 2025's best VR games, launches next week on PlayStation VR2.

Having received a staggered release this year on Quest and Steam, supernatural puzzle adventure Ghost Town is now heading to PlayStation VR2. Set in the UK in the '80s, you play as ghost hunter and exorcist Edith Penrose who runs a paranormal detective agency with her flatmate. You're tasked with tackling London's restless spirits, all while trying to find her missing brother.

We’re pleased to announce Ghost Town is coming to PlayStation VR2 on 1st December, just in time for Christmas🎅! We know it’s been a long time coming, but it will be worth the wait👻 bit.ly/Ghost_Town_P... #PSVR2 #PlayStation #VR #VRgames #GhostTown

Fireproof Games (@fireproofgames.com) 2025-11-27T10:49:19.959Z

Though we've known since its initial announcement that a PlayStation VR2 port was coming, developer Fireproof Games (The Room VR) has now confirmed a release date via social media. However, it's unclear if this upcoming port will use PS VR2-specific features like adaptive triggers and eye tracking. We've contacted the studio, and we'll update this article if we learn more.

We had high praise for Fireproof's latest in our Ghost Town review back in April. Calling it “an utterly engrossing supernatural VR adventure,” we awarded it 4.5/5 stars and later revisited the game following July's PC VR launch.

It's not a stretch to say that Ghost Town is one of the best VR games so far this year. Fireproof Games has delivered a worthy spiritual successor to The Room VR that employs a similarly strong level of VR interactivity, backed up by great visuals on Quest 3, a thoroughly engrossing supernatural narrative and intuitive puzzles.

Ghost Town is out now on Quest and SteamVR, while the PlayStation VR2 release arrives on December 1.

— Pix’n Love Games (@pixnlove_games) November 25, 2025

While pre-orders go live on December 2, it's currently unclear when the physical publisher intends to ship these editions. A reversible cover will be included, though it's unclear whether this release comes with any additional extras; the store page hasn't been listed yet on Pix'n Love's website. Since initially publishing this story, a Collector's Edition has also been revealed.

We had significant praise for The Midnight Walk in our 4/5-star review. Though we thought it would benefit from more in-depth puzzles, we praised MoonHood for delivering a “memorable adventure” and had considerable praise for its visuals. Film and TV adaptations are also in development.

Pre-orders go live through Pix’n Love's website on December 2. Otherwise, The Midnight Walk is available now digitally on Steam and PS5.

POOLS Makes A Splash On PlayStation VR2 Today

25 novembre 2025 à 14:50

POOLS brings the eerie walking simulator to PS VR2 today with native 120Hz support, and a free VR-supported demo is now live.

Developed by Tensori, POOLS is an eerie walking simulator where you wander through these strange swimming pool environments looking for the exit. Originally released as a flatscreen PC game last year, you may recall it received PC VR support in May's free update. Now, it's launching on PS5 with optional PlayStation VR2 support and the Chapter 0 expansion.

Speaking to UploadVR before today's release, Tensori informed us that it's been “very pleased” with the reception to the PC VR release. Stating it focused heavily on performance to ensure things ran smoothly, this pushed the team to learn more about its tools and then apply these same principles to the PlayStation VR2 release.

“We applied the same principle to the PS VR2 version. We actually went so deep that we had to rebuild most of the visual aspects of the game from the ground up to get our target performance. We wanted the foveated rendering to work as best as it could, and in order to do that, we needed to create a custom solution for our water visuals. To do that, we’ve learned a ton about shader programming. It was a serious amount of work, but we feel it was worth the effort.”

Delving into specifics about the PlayStation VR2 edition, Tensori confirmed this work means POOLS runs at native 120Hz. However, the developer warns there might be a few frame rate drops in larger areas if you're using a standard PS5 console. Performance will benefit naturally from the PS5 Pro's improved specs, though dedicated Pro enhancements are planned as a post-launch update.

While today's release uses eye-tracking for foveated rendering, Tensori informed us that more “advanced” use of the headset's haptics isn't available at launch. Though it didn't elaborate on what they specifically are targeting for improvements, the studio confirmed that “we are planning to include improved haptics soon-ish in a future update.”

Finally, given that POOLS has made its way to iOS, can we expect to see it reach Apple Vision Pro, or other VR platforms like Quest? Tensori didn't commit to further platforms yet, though it's not ruling them out either.

“We are always looking to bring POOLS to as many players as we can. If it’s a platform that we feel we can create a great experience on, then we will have a look and see if it’s something we can do. We’re huge fans of Apple Vision Pro and the Quest, so we will definitely have a look and see if POOLS can make its home on these platforms.”

POOLS is out now on PC VR and PlayStation VR2. Free VR-supported demos are available on both platforms.

VR Goalkeeping Sim CleanSheet Pro Is Out Now On Quest

25 novembre 2025 à 10:00

CleanSheet Pro, a subscription-based VR soccer sim for goalkeepers, is now available on Quest.

Developed by Belfast studio INCISIV, we first learned about this CleanSheet Soccer successor back in May. Described as a simulator built for serious athletes, CleanSheet Pro sees you moving between five divisions in a progression-based career mode as you hit promotion targets to move up the ranks. Similarly, poor performance gives you relegation targets to avoid dropping.

0:00
/1:11

Progressing through this career mode gradually unlocks more stadiums, new cosmetics for the footballs and gloves, and the ability to transfer to new clubs. This comes with three fictional teams: Forgehill Rovers, Waveport City, and Stanton United, each with its own identity and environment. Different clubs offer different coaches, stadiums, and more.

Further CleanSheet Pro features include scenarios designed to emulate real-life soccer moments, seeing you face corner kicks and penalty shootouts alike. INCISIV states these are based off motion-captured data from professional footballers.

Other options include a custom shot creator, mixed reality support, and a monthly standardized test through a 'Profiler Mode' to recalibrate the game's difficulty. A companion app for tracking progress and scheduling sessions is also available on iOS and Android.

CleanSheet Pro is now available on Quest through monthly ($29.99) and annual ($239.99) subscriptions, with a free seven-day trial and 50% off the first month. You can find out more in our previous interview below.

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked Review: A Natural Crossover

24 novembre 2025 à 18:00

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is a mostly natural crossover and a fitting evolution for the VR tabletop RPG. Read on for our full review.

Resolution Games created something special with the original Demeo, offering a compelling social VR experience with the turn-based dungeon crawler. Though it gradually evolved through post-launch updates, the initial release was rather bare and it's a testament to the concept's replayability that I'd keep coming back for more. Four years later, Demeo x D&D takes its potential even further.

The Facts

What is it?: An official crossover between Demeo and Dungeons & Dragons that supports up to four players with cross-platform multiplayer.
Platforms: Quest, PC VR, PS VR2 (Reviewed on Quest 3)
Release Date: Out now
Developer/Publisher: Resolution Games
Price: $29.99

Demeo x D&D delivers that same moreish strategy with a more refined package, boasting two sizable campaigns that took my party roughly six hours each to beat. There's considerably more here than what the original Demeo offered at launch, so you'll be busy for a fair while. Using Wizards of the Coast's famous Forgotten Realms setting across Neverwinter and Icewind Dale is an undeniably great fit.

For the unfamiliar, Demeo emulates the tabletop experience by giving you figurines for each character that you can physically move across tile-based maps; hand-tracking controls remain supported on Quest, though controllers offer better precision. Co-location is also pleasingly available on Meta's headset too, letting your whole party sit around the same digital board together.

This time, Resolution's swapped the basement setting for a more modern second-floor room. You've got that same freedom to change your board positioning with minimal fuss, while artwork for the first game's campaigns gives your background environment some nostalgic decoration. Getting up close with each map shows crisp visuals on Quest 3, bringing the digital tabletop fantasy to life well.

Screenshot taken by UploadVR on Quest 3

Like before, movement and skills work well with this turn-based strategy card battler. You have two action points per turn and some ability cards, like healing potions and poison antidotes, can be freely used if you've got points left, since turns automatically end when you run out. Movement, attacks, and more powerful abilities require one point, forcing you to consider each move carefully. Watching your carefully planned strategies pay off feels quite rewarding, though you still need to roll the dice to land a hit. Crits and fails haven't gone anywhere.

Six character classes are currently available with unique moves, offering familiar choices between a fighter, paladin, sorcerer, rogue, ranger, and bard. It's well balanced, as each class comes with its own strengths and drawbacks; setting off fireballs as the sorcerer never gets old with crowd control, nor does the paladin smiting his foes into oblivion in delightfully over-the-top fashion.

They could benefit from a greater range of voice lines, though; there are only so many times a bard can use the same vicious mockery insults before they get stale, even with decent voice acting. I'd like to see some wider options for character creation, too. Much of the joy in D&D comes from creating your own heroes, but right now, you're stuck with limited cosmetic adjustments using the existing base character for each class.

Comfort

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked uses a third-person, tabletop perspective, making this a comfortable game to play for newcomers or anyone susceptible to motion sickness. As such, many common comfort options aren't here because they aren't necessary.

Moving across the board is done by hitting one of your controller's triggers and pulling yourself to a location, while rotating the board requires doing this with both hands. Hand tracking support is available exclusively on Quest, though I found controllers to be more precise throughout. Steam and PS5 also have optional flatscreen modes.

Out of the few options here, a vignette can be activated while moving. Quest also supports mixed reality, letting you play off a digital board while viewing your real-world surroundings.

Battles remain challenging, though usually not overwhelmingly so like it could sometimes feel before. Enemies don't spawn nearly as often in Demeo x D&D. You often need to find the way out or defeat the boss, collecting gold to buy new cards along the way from the local bazaar or after individual stages in longer dungeons. My co-op partner and our two hirelings - we each controlled one of these extra characters - only really struggled as we reached the first campaign's end.

It's worth clearing out all the enemies and clearing side quests, as you'll gradually earn more XP that unlocks new abilities, and you pick one of three options from three separate categories each time. That's based on your chosen class and primary/secondary abilities you hold proficiency in, such as strength or constitution. This delivers useful upgrades like extra hit points, less damage from specific attacks, healing if you kill enemies, and more.

Screenshot taken by UploadVR on Quest 3

You can also reuse previous characters too, giving some nice continuity for these otherwise standalone campaigns. What's slightly annoying is that hirelings don't level up with you, which leaves you disadvantaged in a campaign's later stages if you're playing solo or without a full team of four. This leaves some of your party stuck at level one and that gradually feels more unbalanced as you progress, so I'd love to see Resolution address this in a future update. Days after launch, I'm also encountering connection issues that keep interrupting games even after the hotfix. Infrequent enough that it's not a major issue, though no less annoying when it does happen. At least you can jump back into a session easily enough.

This is roughly the extent of D&D's gameplay influence here, since ability checks are mostly limited to one-off actions that only have a marginal impact. Battles often limit this to avoiding obstacles or traps, while outside of combat throws in a few choices with NPCs - usually with side quests - on how best to deal with enemies. You can't choose a specific character to handle checks either, meaning you're stuck using the party leader or whoever activated an event. Perfectly fine with traps but for story situations, continuously failing rolls can get frustrating when another party member is proficient with the required checks.

How Does It Compare On Steam & PS VR2?

For the majority of this review, my co-op partners hosted a game in flatscreen mode on Steam while I joined via Quest 3 natively. However, I've dived in a couple of times on both PS VR2 and SteamVR as well, connecting to the latter with my Quest 3.

Minus the Quest-specific features (mixed reality, hand tracking, and co-location support), I can't really say I've noticed much difference when playing across PS VR2 and Steam beyond a perceived resolution increase. Everything works well and for PC VR, I encountered no issues with either Virtual Desktop or Steam Link via Quest 3.

For reference, my desktop uses an Intel i9 16-Core Processor i9-12900 (Up to 5.1GHz), 32GB RAM - Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 5200MHz, and a 16GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super. You can find the minimum and recommended specs on the Steam page to learn more.

Battlemarked largely sticks to the original Demeo's established mechanics with the appropriate Dungeons & Dragons set dressing, which feels fitting enough and evolves upon the original game well. But it's these moments where I believe Resolution could take slightly better advantage of what such a crossover can provide.

I'm not expecting Baldur's Gate 3 levels of branching narrative, but Dungeons & Dragons is all about theater of the mind. A good DM won't just let anything fly; an even better one will give you choices while subtly guiding you on a certain path. Choosing a DM-less system is understandable given the base game it's working from, though I'd love to see more meaningful story choices beyond some side quests. What's here is a deliberately simplified take on Wizards of the Coast's tabletop hit, though I'm still having a great time with friends.

Screenshot taken by UploadVR on Quest 3

Demeo x D&D is a great way to introduce newcomers to the Forgotten Realms that's highly enjoyable for more veteran players of both. Returning to these iconic locations in a new way continues to intrigue me, scratching an itch I've had since leaving my regular Dungeons & Dragons campaign two years ago. Progress saves as you advance, and reaching each chapter's end ultimately feels worth it for that sense of accomplishment.

I can only hope it'll be a similar story when Resolution Games begins releasing additional campaigns via future DLC. Given the lengthier nature of Embers of Chaos and Crown of Frost, I'm hopeful for what comes next. As an added touch, unlocking lengthier missions as one-shot dungeons upon completing them is a welcome touch for those of us after something a little more brief.

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked - Final Verdict

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is a fitting evolution that's both newcomer-friendly and expands upon the original Demeo well. This crossover packs more expansive campaigns, better difficulty balancing with enemy spawns, lovely visuals, and a greater story focus that better complements these gameplay systems.

I do wish this offered a little more gameplay freedom to better fit D&D. Further narrative freedom would leave your decisions feeling more impactful, leveling up hirelings would help solo players, and I'd love a more expansive custom character creator. Still, Demeo x D&D gets a strong recommendation from me and if you enjoyed Resolution's older hit, you'll feel right at home here.

Les Mills XR Dance Steps Onto Steam Next Month

24 novembre 2025 à 16:00

Fitness experience Les Mills XR Dance gets a PC VR release next month.

Developed by Odders Lab, Les Mills XR Dance is a fitness program that features over 40 dance routines, one that partners with EDM record label Monstercat for the soundtrack. Featuring five different presenters and four difficulty levels, it's choreographed for different music styles like pop, club, and more. First released on Quest two years ago, a new Steam page confirms it's heading to PC VR soon.

Since that initial release in 2023, Les Mills XR Dance has received numerous post-launch content updates that appear to be included straight away on Steam. New updates have slowed down across the last year, though previous patches added new workouts, a playlist feature, more beginner-focused sessions, further difficulty levels, and more.

This also follows April's PC VR release for Les Mills XR Bodycombat, and Odders Lab recently released the Focus Mode DLC for its older title on both Steam and PlayStation VR2. Already available on Quest, it introduced a Space Station environment, eight new workouts, and premium futuristic cosmetics.

Les Mills XR Dance is out now on the Meta Quest platform and Pico, while the Steam release will follow this December.

Marvel's Deadpool VR Hits #1 In Quest Weekly Revenue Charts

24 novembre 2025 à 13:55

Marvel's Deadpool VR is currently the top-earning game in the Quest weekly revenue charts.

Marking Meta's latest first-party title exclusive to Quest 3 and 3S, Marvel's Deadpool VR secured the top spot following last week's launch for $50. Developed by Twisted Pixel Games, this arcade-style action game sees you playing as the titular merc with a mouth after he's kidnapped by the supervillain Mojo. It currently sits at a 4.5-star rating on the Meta Horizon Store with 546 reviews.

Meta Horizon Store: Top-earning games this week by revenue as of November 24, 2025

This week's other big debut is Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, an official crossover between Resolution Games' tabletop adventure from 2021 and Wizards of the Coast's fantasy hit. Featuring two campaigns with more to come, it's taken #4 in the weekly revenue charts following last week's multiplatform launch for $30, sitting at a 4.2-star rating after 224 reviews.

Otherwise, it's familiar names with UG sitting at #2 and Beat Saber close behind at #3. Animal Company at #5, respectively followed by Gorilla Tag, VRChat, Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, Yeeps, and PokerStars - Vegas Infinite to round out the top 10. Despite reaching #6 two weeks ago, Triangle Factory's 16v16 shooter Forefront has moved out of the top 10 but still charts at #13.

This list may evolve as the week goes on, and you can find the full charts here for more details on the top 50 weekly earners. We'll continue monitoring these standings as we approach the end of this year.

Tracked: Shoot To Survive Gets Visual Upgrades In First Patch

21 novembre 2025 à 19:15

Tracked: Shoot to Survive released its first patch with visual upgrades and new features.

Recently launched on Quest 3 and 3S, we had mixed feelings in our Tracked: Shoot to Survive review. Though we considered it to be an engaging survival adventure with great VR-focused crafting mechanics, we had notable criticisms at launch for its presentation, enemy AI, and performance. Now, developer Incuvo has released its first big patch just over a week later.

TRACKED’s first BIG patch is here! 🔥
Bringing you visual improvements, new features, and tons of fixes.
Huge thanks to everyone helping us shape the game. Keep on sending the feedback!

And if you're playing TRACKED, drop us a review. It helps more than you think. pic.twitter.com/UdFWbq8ot9

— TRACKED: Shoot To Survive (@TRACKEDVR) November 21, 2025

Most notable here is a series of visual upgrades, with Incuvo promising better resolution and improvements to lighting, tree shadows, and the skybox. Stealth grass is also visually thicker, and contaminated meat has been adjusted to be “visually more repulsive.”

Other new changes include a new sleeping feature, which allows you to rest at your Father's Cabin to recover HP and skip some time. UI adjustments have been made to the fast travel board “for easier identification,” new cooking icons have been introduced, and your notepad's interactivity has also been adjusted. You can find the full patch notes here.

Our reviewer, Luis Aviles, went hands-on directly with this update following its release. He informed me that loading times are noticeably reduced and textures appear more detailed, though he's still noticing performance stuttering and advised the sound effects are still “hit or miss.” However, he considers this a “step in the right direction” compared to the launch version.

Tracked: Shoot to Survive is out now on Quest 3 and 3S.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom Is Out Now On PlayStation VR2

21 novembre 2025 à 01:40

Interactive VR movie Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom is out now on PlayStation VR2.

Created by Bandai Namco Filmworks and Atlas V, Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom first released last year on Quest. Offering a VR interactive anime film with an original story, it's set three years after Char's Counterattack in the Universal Century 0096, delivering a more narrative-focused tale with light gameplay elements. After appearing last month on the PlayStation Store, that's now available on PlayStation VR2.

/0:41

Official trailer

Silver Phantom focuses on a mercenary group called Argent Keil, presenting a neutral insight into the war between the Earth Federation and Zeon. With a group of Neo Zeon's remnants called The Sleeves causing issues, these scenes unfold across 6DoF, 360° environments and use a cel-shaded presentation to match the anime's visuals.

We went hands-on during Venice Immersive 2024 and considered publisher Astrea describing this as an interactive movie to be a smart decision. While we found the actual interactivity to be disappointingly limited, though you can still participate in mech battles, we believed Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom is an experience that's ultimately “carried by its narrative.”

This story was initially published on October 7, 2025. It was updated on November 21, 2025, when Silver Phantom launched on PS VR2.

EA Sports Will Skip F1 26, With 'Reimagined' Game Coming In 2027

18 novembre 2025 à 18:55

EA Sports will release a paid 2026 season expansion to F1 25 instead of a new title, with a “reimagined” game to follow in 2027.

Since F1 22, EA Sports and Codemasters have continued supporting PC VR in its officially licensed series of Formula 1 racing games. While each real-life season is normally reflected through a new game, it's now skipping the usual annual release cycle by instead releasing a paid expansion to F1 25, one that reflects the upcoming 2026 season.

“The premium content update will bring players closer to the sport’s major changes for 2026 that include new cars, sporting regulations, teams, and drivers,” states EA Sports in a new blog.

While the 2026 season officially kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix on March 8, there's no indication this will also be the expansion's release date. New entries since 2021 have arrived between May and July, and pricing is also unconfirmed.

With the next entry, EA Sports confirmed that F1 27 is a new game “that looks, feels, and plays differently, delivering more gameplay choices.” Little else is currently known, and in a prepared statement, Codemasters' Senior Creative Director Lee Mather states this “reimagines the F1 experience” for 2027.

Considering this is being touted as a larger overhaul, it's unclear whether PC VR support will continue beyond F1 25 and next year's expansion with future entries. We'll keep an eye out for further updates as they come through.

VR Multiplayer Shooter VAIL Launches Free-To-Play Extraction Mode

14 novembre 2025 à 21:00

VR multiplayer shooter VAIL gets a free-to-play Extraction mode in early access today on Steam and Quest.

Following last year's free-to-play social hub launch, sci-fi multiplayer shooter VAIL has received an Extraction mode. Now live after 10 months of development, AEXLAB aims to make this a “more approachable” extraction shooter for players unfamiliar with this type of game. You descend into the depths of Reyn to retrieve encrypted data, technology, and resources, fending off other players and the island's inhabitants alike.

0:00
/1:21

Extraction splits you between six teams of three players across a new map, one that contains weather effects like fog, rain, thunder, and more. Alongside the game's usual weaponry, this mode features an “advanced shield and ammo tier system.” Developer AEXLAB states that ammo can penetrate shields in different ways and that's dependent on the relationship between their tiers.

Teammates can be revived if downed, a choice developer AEXLAB says was made to keep players in the action without them waiting around. “Nothing feels worse than being in a squad with your friends, you die, and now you're waiting forever for your teammates to either extract or lose,” stated the studio.

For the full launch, AEXLAB is working on an expanded gameplay loop with in-game missions to help locate and defeat a randomized boss. It's also working on creating customizable homes that other players can visit as your party prepares for raids. Early access will have frequent wipes to assist testing, though there are “no plans” for forced wipes at full release.

AEXLAB also provided UploadVR with its latest roadmap that lists new features to come, such as fishing, unlockable extracts, compound upgrades, and more. Though it doesn't specify release windows, the varying line lengths suggest which of these features are coming first. You can see that in full below.

VAIL Extraction is now live on PC VR and Quest.

Tin Hearts Gets Festive With Act 1 Launch Next Month On Quest

14 novembre 2025 à 18:25

VR puzzle adventure Tin Hearts is getting into the Christmas spirit, bringing its first act to Quest next month.

Developed by Rogue Sun and IPHIGAMES, Tin Hearts is a Lemmings-style game that explores the story of a fictional Victorian inventor, Albert Butterworth. Guiding toy soldiers through this Dickensian world with block-based puzzles, VR support arrived in a post-launch on PS VR2 and Steam last year. Now, it's coming to Quest in an episodic release that begins on December 11.

Release date trailer

Detailed in a press release, publisher Wired Productions calls Act 1 a standalone episode where these tiny soldiers are appropriately dressed for the festive season in an attic filled with toys. Costing $5.99 for the first part, Acts 2, 3, and 4 will follow “in the coming weeks” on Quest, though no specific release dates were confirmed.

Originally released through a now delisted PC VR prologue on PC VR in 2018, we had positive impressions in our Tin Hearts VR preview two years ago. Stating it offers “some well-considered mechanics” that caught our attention, we believed it provides “enjoyable puzzles and an intriguing whimsical setting.”

Tin Hearts is out now in full on flatscreen platforms, PS VR2, and PC VR. Act 1 arrives on the Meta Quest platform on December 11.

Pocket Lands Looks Like Mixed Reality Minecraft On Quest

13 novembre 2025 à 19:34

Pocket Lands lets you create miniature worlds in mixed reality before exploring them in VR, and it's out next month in early access.

Marking the latest game from Thomas van den Berge, creator of VR painting app Vermillion, Pocket Lands sees you building miniature worlds in your home using MR. Letting you resize this diorama to fit your entire living room, hand tracking controls allow you to grab building material with your hands before jumping in at any moment to explore in first person through fully immersive VR.

Today's reveal at the VR Games Showcase follows a series of pre-announcement teases, showing a concept reminiscent of Microsoft's famous Minecraft HoloLens demo during E3 2015. Pocket Lands will release in early access this December with various biomes you can discover, while the VR mode promises multiple locomotion options.

With the full release, Thomas van den Berge is currently targeting “the second half of 2026.” This aims to include cave systems and underground biomes, additional surface biomes, creatures roaming the lands, and multiplayer build battles with leaderboards. Co-located and remote creative multiplayer are also planned.

Pocket Lands enters early access on December 11 on the Meta Quest platform.

Bootstrap Island Adds New Sickness System In Last Major Update Before Full Release

13 novembre 2025 à 19:25

PC VR survival game Bootstrap Island just received its last major update before next year's full release.

Following four major updates during its early access period, the most recent one adding the Riverlands, a fifth update is now available for Bootstrap Island on Steam. Visions adds a new sickness and hallucinations system that warps reality as the illness spreads, which can only be cured through a Lotus Flower. Cures can also be found in the new Medicine Box, which contains six mysterious bottles with unknown contents.

Visions is also introducing a new story-driven tutorial that reveals your character's backstory, alongside new in-game item unlocks that appear across the island. New environmental features include subterranean sinkholes that may contain rare resources and quicksand. Dead shipmates killed in your shipwreck will now appear, too. Chests with new items gradually regenerate over time, and this update also promises a quality-of-life improvement for your grab pull.

“With ‘Visions,’ we wanted to push players beyond mere survival,” confirmed Rein Zobel, Creative Director of Bootstrap Island, in a prepared statement. “Illness, hallucination, and uncertainty become part of the experience. Just like in real survival situations, it’s not only the environment you must fight, but your own body and mind.”

As for what's next, May's full release roadmap confirmed that the full release will reveal the mysterious island's deepest secrets, adding tribal inhabitants you can only communicate with via body language. Further updates are planned post-launch focused on new lands and dangers, though little else was confirmed at the time.

Bootstrap Island: Visions is now live on Steam Early Access, with a full release tentatively scheduled for Q1 2026.

Co-op Platformer VR Giants Heads To Quest This December

13 novembre 2025 à 19:20

Asymmetric co-op platformer VR Giants is heading to Meta Quest headsets this December.

Developed by Risa Interactive, VR Giants originally launched on Steam Early Access in 2023, where one person plays flatscreen using a gamepad as a tiny companion called David, while the VR player controls Goliath to assist him. After confirming online multiplayer plans, the studio advised last month that it's coming to Quest, and today's VR Games Showcase announced a December 11 launch.

Though it's unclear if this is also being introduced on Steam, Risa Interactive states both Quest players will be able to play fully in VR. The studio's also using a 'Free Friends Pass' system for VR Giants, which lets you invite another player to join in without both of you needing to buy the game.

Previously detailing this further, Risa Interactive confirmed that VR Giants includes 23 levels across four biomes: Ice, Desert, Volcano, and Pasture. Goliath can transform into three separate forms, unlockable cosmetics are available for both characters, and the studio states this campaign will offer “8 hours” of gameplay.

VR Giants is out now on Steam Early Access, while the Quest version will follow on December 11.

The Lightkeepers Promises Nautical, Supernatural Co-op Action On Quest

13 novembre 2025 à 18:55

The Lightkeepers promises a supernatural tale of nautical solitude with a new co-op action game on Quest.

Developed by Spectral Games, likely best known for its work on Medieval Dynasty New Settlement, The Lightkeepers takes place in the 1920s in a world “where daylight unveils discoveries and nightfall demands survival.” Though it's unclear exactly how many players this supports, you're tasked with exploring mysterious islands and solving puzzles to prepare for the imminent threat.

Revealed during today's VR Games Showcase, The Lightkeepers promises “new challenges, different enemies, and unpredictable places” across each expedition, featuring weapons ranging from muddy rifles to hand-crafted grenades. The studio states light comes at a price, while fending off the dark involves exploring, crafting, and directly fighting these nocturnal terrors as a team.

Strangely, this isn't the only VR game we've recently seen that's set in the 1920s. Last month saw Curvature Games share more about The Amusement, an Art Deco-style roomscale adventure that's inspired both aesthetically and in its setting by Luna Parks during the 1920s post-war period.

The Lightkeepers launches next year on Quest 3 and 3S.

Full Steam Undead Promises Comedic Action In A Victorian Open World

13 novembre 2025 à 18:35

Full Steam Undead promises comedic zombie-killing action in an occult Victorian world on Quest and Steam.

Marking the latest game from By Grit Alone developer Crooks Peak, Full Steam Undead takes an action-over-horror approach in a Victorian-inspired open world “with zero loading screens.” Serving at Queen Victoria's behest on Necropolis Island, this lighthearted single-player shooter also gives you a drivable steam engine to assist in your battles.

Announcement trailer

Crooks Peak states this comes with various minigame-style 'Crypts' that range from mine cart riding to boss battles. Should rage overcome this island, zombie swarms will quickly overwhelm you, and the studio advises this campaign will likely last for around 4 hours.

Various optional gameplay modifiers will be available such as difficulty settings, instant reloads, zombie damage immunity, and a self-explanatory “Zombies explode when they get close” mode. Accessibility options include snap and smooth turning, a swappable gun hand, vignettes, and more. Crooks Peak also says it included a “very forgiving” autosave system.

While Crooks Peak advised these plans are speculative, it's considering additional features that are currently “out of scope before release.” Targeted post-launch updates presently include adding one-handed play support, a realistic steam engine controls mode, additional localizations, a global zombie kill counter, support for both LIV and bHaptics, and more.

Full Steam Undead launches in spring 2026 on Quest and Steam for $12.99.

Valve Isn't Currently Working On A New VR Game

12 novembre 2025 à 19:53

Valve confirmed that it's not currently working on a new first-party VR game.

Today saw Valve officially announce Steam Frame, a “streaming-first” standalone VR headset that's launching in “early 2026”. While the company is aiming to make your existing Steam library more valuable, this naturally raised the question: following 2020's Half-Life: Alyx, is Valve developing new VR games for the headset?

Speaking to UploadVR during our recent visit, Valve told us that it's “not talking about content today.” However, Road to VR says that "a member of the Steam Frame team" denied that it has any VR content in development, offering what the publication described as a "simple and definitive no".

While Alyx wasn't a launch title for the Valve Index headset, the groundbreaking title arrived less than a year after launch. Before that, Valve had previously confirmed it was developing a flagship VR game, whereas Steam Frame will seemingly rely on existing and third-party titles.

As for Steam Frame itself, the newly announced headset uses a lightweight modular design and runs a VR version of Valve's SteamOS, which it previously used with Steam Deck. This also uses an updated version of the Proton compatibility layer, meaning it can run almost any Linux, Windows, and Android games.

If you're interested to find out more about how it runs games, you can check out our hands-on impressions and the hardware specifications for more.

Temporal Sci-Fi Puzzler UnLoop Reaches PC VR Today

13 novembre 2025 à 16:24

Retro-futuristic puzzler UnLoop is now available on PC VR in early access.

Published by CM Games (Into the Radius) and developed by Superposition NULL, UnLoop is a sci-fi puzzle game built around self-cooperation and time manipulation that's reminiscent of We Are One. Set on a remote space station called the Temporal Research Hub, you create copies of yourself each loop and replay your past actions in real time as you retrieve data.

/1:36

Following its full release on Quest and Pico, CM Games has chosen early access on Steam to gather feedback about “optimization, player experience, graphics, and to address possible PC VR-related feature requests.” It still contains content parity with the standalone edition, and a Version 1.1 update is planned this December that promises new puzzles and a story continuation.

On the hardware side, UnLoop on Steam will initially support using Quest, Pico, and Valve Index headsets. A Steam FAQ confirms the developer will explore compatibility with additional headsets and controllers depending on community feedback, and PC VR visual improvements are also planned.

We had positive impressions in our UnLoop hands-on back in September, considering it a “clever self-co-op experience” held back by a “few rough edges.”

UnLoop looks to be a promising head-scratcher for players who love time-looping puzzles and self-orchestrated hijinks. Its core concept is compelling and clever, but a few rough edges keep it from being a standout recommendation just yet. With a bit of polish and hopefully some patches, this could be one to loop back to.

UnLoop is out now on Quest, Pico, and Steam Early Access.
