Since President Trump announced plans for mass deportations and rescinded protections for hospitals and clinics, health care facilities have seen a jump in no-shows.
Emily Borghard, a social worker who founded Sidewalk Samaritan, said she recently encountered a man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. The man declined treatment out of fear he would be deported.
