Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir: New Footage Revealed at CCXP

7 décembre 2025 à 00:33

Some very brief, blink-and-you'll-miss-it footage from the upcoming Amazon series Spider-Noir was just revealed at CCXP25 in Brazil. As part of a sizzle trailer shown prior to a panel for Prime Video's The Boys at the massive Thunder Stage (think San Diego Comic-con's Hall H), a brief scene from the new show starring Nicolas Cage was shown for the audience in attendence.

At the beginning of the preview, we see Spider-Noir's eyes. Then we see a mash-up of a bunch of other current and upcoming Amazon shows. We then cut to a 1930s-style burglar or crook. All of a sudden, the lights go on behind him and Spider-Noir is standing there. Cut to black.

It was just yesterday that Amazon released new posters for the series, indicating that viewers can either watch the show in black and white or color when it arrives next year.

For more on Spider-Noir, read our story about how the live-action Spider-Man spinoff sees Nicolas Cage playing Ben Reilly, not Peter Parker.

And for more on CCXP, check out major reveals from the convention for Marvel, Fallout, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and more.

Spider-Noir will stream on MGM+ in the United States and on Prime Video globally in 2026.

Percy Jackson Is Headed to Fortnite

6 décembre 2025 à 21:30

Percy Jackson is coming to Fortnite. The popular series, based on the novels by Rick Riordan and now streaming on Disney+, was just announced to be getting its very own Fortnite Island on December 9.

Revealed on stage at CCXP25 in Brazil, Percy Jackson: Siege of Monsters will allow players to “embark on an authentic Percy Jackson adventure across an island map inspired by Camp Half-Blood – the earthly sanctuary and training facility for the children of mortals and Greek gods. As newly arrived demigods, players must discover the identity of their godly parent, gain new divine powers, and ally with their fellow demigods for a climactic battle against Scylla and Charybdis on the Sea of Monsters.”

Players will be able to meet various characters from the popular stories, rendered in the likenesses of the actors from the streaming series, including Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood, and “complete multiple side quests” and other activities “inspired by the first two seasons of the show.”

I recently spoke with the stars and producers of the show about bringing some fan-favorite storylines to Fortnite. Walker Scobell, who plays Percy on the series, and co-star Aryan Simhadri (Grover) had been begging producers to get their characters into Fortnite “since day one.”

“I'm just excited to be the guy from Fortnite,” says Scobell. “That's what I want people to call me. If that's the only thing I'm ever remembered for, I'm fine with that. Percy Jackson? No, he's the guy from Fortnite.”

Series Executive Producer and Co-showrunner Dan Shotz, who presented a sneak peak of the Fortnite island at CCXP, says bringing Percy Jackson to the game involved a lot of moving pieces. “We have worked directly with Disney to build an entire world within Fortnite,” Shotz says. “You're going to get to see incredible monsters. You get to fight the Minotaur, you get to have a boss battle with Scylla and Charybdis, and you also just get to hang out with the gang from Percy Jackson. It's pretty epic.”

Dior Goodjohn, who plays Clarisse on the show, agrees: “It's really, really sick. You kind of know the magnitude of what you're doing when they put you in a video game or when you get a doll made of you. This is insane that this is real life for all of us right now. It's crazy.”

Percy Jackson Creator Rick Riordan says it was important to adapt his stories for a younger, modern audience. “I cannot tell you how many years the fans have been asking me, ‘When are we going to get a Percy Jackson immersive game?’” Riordan says. “I (played) my share of World of Warcraft when I was younger, (so) I get it. I totally get it.”

Leah Sava Jeffries, who portrays Annabeth, says she used to play Fortnite but intends to jump back in now that she and her co-stars are featured in the game. “This is making me want to go back and play it again,” Jeffries says. “I have been waiting for this for so long, and now I really feel like this is our moment.”

Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians hits Disney+ December 10.

Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdom Actor Says His Character Was Inspired By Brienne of Tarth

5 décembre 2025 à 00:12

CCXP25 in Brazil is underway and the first major panel featured a brand-new look at HBO Max’s Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Aside from dropping a new trailer, several of the new show’s actors were on hand to break down what fans can expect when the series debuts next year.

Peter Claffey, who plays Ser Duncan the Tall (also known as Dunk) said that his performance was inspired by Brienne of Tarth, played by Gwendoline Christie in the original series. Dunk was revealed recently by author George R.R. Martin to be Brienne’s ancestor.

When asked whether his performance was inspired by Christie’s portrayal of Brienne, Claffey confirmed that was the case. “I think so, yeah,” Claffey said. “I was a huge fan of the original series and I loved Gwendoline Christie as Brienne. She was amazing and there are a lot of aspects to Dunk's character that she shares.

“She's very chivalrous. She wants to do what's right. She just wants to be a knight, and she has the added complication of trying to be a knight who was a lady in Westeros. So she has a much harder job than Dunk did. But there is definite likeness.”

Is Ser Duncan the Tall Brienne of Tarth's grandfather?

Claffey then turned to his A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms co-star Dexter Sol Ansell - who plays Prince Aeogn Targaryen, also known as “Egg” - and dropped what could either be considered a Westeros family tree bombshell, or maybe just a sarcastic aside.

“Dexter actually got to work with Christie as well,” Claffey said - most likely referring to Ansell and Christie's appearances in 2024's Robin and the Hoods. “You got work with my granddaughter!”

Martin hasn’t specifically said that Brienne of Tarth is Ser Duncan the Tall’s granddaughter. But perhaps we’ll get that answer sooner rather than later when A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms premieres on HBO Max January 18, 2026.

When you're done here, check out how Claffey just revealed George R.R. Martin's favorite A Song of Ice and Fire story.

Shelter Director Reveals Movie’s First Trailer and Why Jason Statham Is the Best “Dance Partner”

2 décembre 2025 à 17:00

Shelter - the upcoming action movie starring Jason Statham, Naomi Ackie, and Bill Nighy - just dropped its first trailer, which you can view in the player above. Now the director is revealing new details about the film. I spoke exclusively with Ric Roman Waugh about how Shelter showcases “Jason Statham at his best” and why the movie will make people want to put their “ass in a theater” when it releases early next year.

“(Statham’s character is) this mysterious guy that’s been living in this abandoned lighthouse for over 10 years alone, isolated on this island,” Waugh says. “A young girl and her uncle keep bringing him supplies. He won't give them the time of day until one day he has to save her life, and now is stuck with her. He gets exposed to the world, and you realize that he has this mysterious past that has haunted him and he's now a wanted man that's on the hunt. It becomes a great movie about our own morality today and about a guy that was wrongfully accused and tried to do the right things. What you get is this great big action ride with two lost souls that find each other and become family.”

Waugh says the key to Shelter’s story is the relationship between Statham’s character, Mason, and a girl named Jessie, played by Hamnet's Bodhi Rae Breathnach. “When we did the chemistry test, she was the first young girl that came in. Jason and I looked afterwards and we were like, what do we do now? Because we know that's her. The heart of it became about the way that you're looking for Natalie Portman in The Professional (or) Dakota Fanning in Man on Fire. Who's going to bring it?

“It's a movie that there were scenes directing it where it's a bit of a tear-jerker about two lost souls trying who find family and don't want to lose it; a man trying to do the right thing by this young girl and dealing with the dark cloud behind them.”

Rounding out the all-star cast are Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Caribbean), Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), and Daniel Mays (Rogue One). But the heart of the movie lies with Statham.

“This is Jason Statham at his best,” Waugh says. "This is Jason Statham the action star, and this is the guy that will show you and prove again what an amazing actor he is. He gives a performance that just will blow your mind and will win your heart over. It's the full package. (He) knows the story inside out, (he’s) prepared and (is) both going to challenge the process in a way of being respectful and wanting to raise the bar. You couldn't ask for a better dance partner.”

Shelter hits theaters January 30, 2026.
