iOS 19 to be one of Apple’s biggest iPhone updates ever

iOS 19 will be “one of the most dramatic software overhauls” in Apple’s history, according to a new report from Bloomberg. This will include some of the biggest design changes we’ve seen in over a decade.

The company is reportedly planning similar updates for Mac and iPad as well. The goal is to make Apple’s platforms “more consistent.”

Smarter Siri delay could be caused by major security concerns, suggests developer

The long wait for a smarter Siri is to get even longer, with some indications that the new features we were originally expecting in iOS 18.4 may now be pushed back to iOS 19.

Apple’s new M4 MacBook Air has a sneaky new perk: Incredible deals on older models

Last week, Apple introduced the new . It brought a new sky blue finish, and introduced a higher-resolution 12MP camera with support for Center Stage. However, it also included a much more important upgrade: a lower starting price.

That’s right, the MacBook Air now starts at $999 again. That’s a big deal for two reasons. One, you no longer need to buy last-gen tech for that price point, and two, it means there’s now incredible clearance deals on older models.

Here’s how Apple could fix its Apple Intelligence summary shortcomings

Among all of the Apple Intelligence features announced at WWDC24 last summer, notification summaries are likely one of the more controversial ones. Users have noticed a number of inaccurate summaries, which has resulted in Apple tweaking the design of notification summaries, as well as disabling it for news stories.

While these summaries will never be absolutely perfect, there is one way Apple could easily improve the quality and accuracy of them, and I’d like to see them take this idea into consideration for iOS 19.

What went wrong with Apple Intelligence Siri development?

On Friday, Apple officially delayed the release of its promised iOS 18 Siri features. Those features, including personal context, on-screen awareness, and in-app actions, will now release “in the coming year.” We had already received hints that these features would be delayed, but now we know for sure. This leaves the question, what went wrong?

Apple’s new A16 iPad may have a special trick up its sleeve

Last week, Apple hit us with a little bit of a surprise, and introduced the with an A16 chip. The new iPad wasn’t much of a surprise, but the A16 chip certainly was. Rumors had long suggested that we should expect an A17 Pro chip, but that never came to fruition.

However, the A16 chip might provide a special perk, one that assures the product can stay around at its $349 price tag in the short term.

Bloomberg: Apple could have to scrap new Siri AI features and start over

Earlier today, Apple announced that it is delaying the launch of the “more personalized” version of Siri, which was first announced at WWDC last year. In a statement, the company said it anticipates rolling the features out “in the coming year.”

In a new report this afternoon, Bloomberg details the internal turmoil that led to this delay, with Apple’s software chief Craig Federighi reportedly voicing “strong concerns that the features didn’t work properly” in his testing.
