AU Deals: Massive Multi-Platform Savings Land with Gold, Gothic, and Karting Glory

5 août 2025 à 03:58

Welcome back to yet another bargain hunt, friends. There’s no better way to recover from a weekend wallet blast than by diving headfirst into another one. I’ve been trawling through the digital bins again and, honestly, it’s a banger week if your console of choice begins with an N, S, X, or P. Below you’ll find a handful of my personal favourites across all platforms, cherry-picked for your backlog-growing pleasure.

This Day in Gaming 🎂

In retro news, I'm celebrating the 31st birthday of Earthworm Jim, a run 'n' gun platformer that's as iconic as it was bizarre. I can vividly recall being blown away by its slick character animations, as they were on par with the high [Agra]ba[h]r set by Disney's Aladdin from the year previous. Better yet, EJ oozed a unique weirdness that provided left field shifts in level-to-level gameplay and whip-worm-smart satire of tired gaming tropes. It was a crying shame when a half-arsed attempt to 3D-ify this franchise put Jim in the dirt for good.

Aussie birthdays for notable games.

Nice Savings for Nintendo Switch

On Switch, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a must-have if you like your ghost hunting equal parts charming and chaotic. I’ve always admired how it leans into environmental physics, especially the way curtains or cobwebs react to Luigi’s Poltergust G-00. Elsewhere, Sniper Elite 4 scratches that same sneaky-snipey itch with gruesome satisfaction. The X-ray kill cams are still some of the most wince-worthy shots in the genre.

  • Luigi’s Mansion 3 (-14%) - A$69 – For my money, just a charming haunted-house puzzler with great physics and delightful ghostbustin'. A first-party must-have that rarely dips below RRP.
  • Sonic Forces (-46%) - A$32 – Not a must-own in my mind. But it’s fast, flashy, and features a create-your-own-hedgehog mode worth a chuckle.
  • FC 25 (-47%) - A$48 – EA’s soon to be updated sportsballer had tweaked physics and Ultimate Team enhancements. A decent update for career mode lovers.
  • Sniper Elite 4 (-18%) - A$49.20 – Cinematic slow-mo sniping and sandbox stealth in sunny Italy hasn't gotten old for me yet. Holds up well on Switch.
  • Everybody 1-2-Switch! (-24%) - A$37.90 – A party game that leans into absurdity. Fun in the right group, baffling in the wrong one. Cheap but not essential.

Exciting Bargains for Xbox

For Xbox Series X, Dragon Age: The Veilguard Del. is a steal at this discount. While I’m still riding the hype of its party-based RPG vibes, it’s clear BioWare hasn’t lost its knack for character chemistry. And if you love shooting and heresy, Warhammer 40K: Darktide lets you cleanse and purge across gloriously dank hive cities.

Xbox One

  • WWE 2K25 (-51%) - A$59 – Suplex city continues with improved animations, new match types, and robust creation tools.
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (-20%) - A$88.10 – This annual juggernaut returned with bombastic set pieces and tried-and-true multiplayer.
  • Enter the Gungeon (-85%) - A$3.30 – Bullet hell dungeon-crawler packed with absurd weapons and tongue-in-cheek style. I was well addicted to.

Pure Scores for PlayStation

PlayStation 5-wise, Elden Ring is a no-brainer. I can still remember the thrill of uncovering Nokron’s secret entrance long after I thought I’d seen everything. On the flipside, Star Wars Outlaws surprised me with how scrappy and sandboxy it feels, especially during speeder escapes gone wrong.

  • Elden Ring (-34%) - A$55.90 – Massive open-world Soulslike with legendary boss fights and eerie landscapes. An utter must-own for me.
  • Star Wars Outlaws (-64%) - A$40 – Scrappy third-person shooter with speeder chases and criminal underworld schmoozing. Underrated in my (post-Andor) opinion.
  • Ghost of Yōtei (-21%) - A$99 – Stunning visuals, stealth action, and mythic Japan vibes. I've made the quick-draw on a preorder already..
  • Lost Soul Aside (-19%) - A$89 – Devil May Cry-style combat with anime flair. Fast, flashy, and very pretty. Colour me enthused.
  • NBA 2K25 (-80%) - A$24 – Huge discount on this year’s baller sim. Still the most polished court game in town.
  • GT7 (-30%) - A$86.80 – A love letter to motorsport. Simulation fans will adore the depth and detail. I still play this in VR, daily.

PS4

  • Dark Souls Trilogy (-32%) - A$54 – Brutal, beautiful, and extremely replayable. All three Dark Souls entries in one ominous package. Buy and prepare to die.
  • WWE 2K25 (-70%) - A$59 – All the ring entrances, drama, and reversals at a heavyweight discount.
  • One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (-40%) - A$41.90 – Fast-paced Musou action with iconic characters and hundreds of enemies to bash.

Lenovo's Newest Legion 5 Gaming Laptop with OLED Display and RTX 5070 GPU Drops to $1,271

5 août 2025 à 02:15

Lenovo's Back to School Sale ends soon, but new deals are still popping up. One of the best deals I've seen is on this Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 10 gaming laptop, equipped with an OLED display and RTX 5070 GPU, for just $1,270.90 after you apply two coupon codes "BUYMORE4SCHOOL" and "EXTRAFIVE". That's a total of $374 in savings. The Legion 5 is Lenovo's mid-range lineup in between the budget LOQ and high-end Legion 5 Pro and offers the best value for your dollar.

Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 10 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop for $1,271

In order to get this exact configuration, you'll need to follow these steps below.

  1. Click Here
  2. Click on "Build Your PC"
  3. Select Graphic Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 (+$260)
  4. Proceed to your shopping cart
  5. At cart, apply codes: "BUYMORE4SCHOOL" and "EXTRAFIVE"
  6. Final price will come out to $1,270.99 with free shipping (not including taxes)

This particular configuration is equipped with a 15" 2560x1600 165Hz OLED display, AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The highlight here is the gorgeous OLED display. Aside from the true OLED panel, it featuers enhanced 2.5K resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, HDR 600 True Black certification, and 100% DCI-P3 color space. The Ryzen AI 7 350 is one of AMD's newer mobile processors. It's not as powerful as the HX series of processors, but it is more energy efficient and still very capable in gaming performance when paired with a discrete GPU (like the RTX 5070 GPU).

The GeForce RTX 5070 is 5%-10% better than the RTX 4070

The mobile RTX 5070 GPU performs about 5%-10% better than the RTX 4070 that it replaces. That's not a very big generational improvement, but the RTX 5070 also supports multi-frame generation, which means the margin will widen in games that support DLSS 4.0. It should have enough power to run most games at a comfortable framerate on the display's enhanced 2560x1600 resolution. If you want a significantly better performing Nvidia GPU, the next step up is the RTX 5070 Ti GPU, which does offer a pretty reasonable performance upgrade. There's one on sale right now for $1,860, but a $600 upcharge might not be worth it for you depending on which games you play.

Save $650 Off Lenovo's Newest Legion Pro Gaming Laptop with OLED Display and RTX 5070 Ti GPU

5 août 2025 à 00:45

As part of its Back to School Sale, Lenovo is offering the lowest price I've seen for one of its RTX 5070 Ti equipped gaming laptops. Right now you can get the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 gaming laptop, equipped with an OLED display and RTX 5070 Ti GPU, for just $1,859.99 after you apply two stackable coupon codes "BUYMORE4SCHOOL" and "EXTRAFIVE". That's a total of $625 off in combined savings. Lenovo Legion laptops are well-rated thanks to their excellent build quality, powerful components, and robust cooling.

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro Gen 10 RTX 5070 Ti Laptop for $1,860

Apply both codes: "BUYMORE4SCHOOL" and "EXTRAFIVE"

This particular configuration is equipped with a 16" 2560x1600 165Hz OLED display, Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The Legion Pro features an aluminum top lid and a sturdy plastic bottom chassis. The display is an absolute stunner thanks to the true OLED panel with a razor sharp 2.5K 189ppi resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, HDR 1000 True Black certification, and 100%DCI-P3 color space. This new 2025 model has also been updated with the Wi-Fi 7 standard. Connectivity options include a Thunderbolt 4 port with DisplayPort 2.1, a USB Type-C port with up to 100W of Power Delivery, an RJ45 ethernet port, and an HDMI 2.1 port. The 80Whr battery can charge to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX is a top performing CPU

The Legion Pro 5 is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX Arrow Lake-HX processor, which boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.4GHz with a whopping 24 cores and 40MB total L2 cache. According to Passmark, this is second most powerful Intel mobile CPU available right now and goes head to head with AMD's Ryzen 9 9955HX.

The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU is better than the RTX 4080 mobile

The Legion Pro 5 laptop offers a more substantial cooling design than the Legion 5 (non-Pro) and is able to accomodate more powerful GPUs like the RTX 5070 Ti. That's important if you want to be able to play games comfortably on the display's enhanced 2560x1600 resolution. The RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU is a substantial upgrade over the 4070 Ti. In fact, it offers gaming performance on par with the RTX 4080 and takes the lead in any games that support DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation (the RTX 4080 only supports DLSS 3). You'd have to pay hundreds more to upgrade to an RTX 5080.

Save $650 Off the Powerful Alienware Area-51 RTX 5090 Gaming PC During the Back to School Sale

4 août 2025 à 23:45

If you're seeking the absolute best of the best in PC gaming performance, look no further. As part of a greater Back to School Sale, Alienware has just dropped the price of its flagship Alienware Area-51 prebuilt gaming PC equipped with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card to $4,499.99 with free shipping. This is a competitive price for a prebuilt RTX 5090 gaming PC compared to similarly equipped systems from other boutique PC builders, which is impressive considering the fact that the Alienware brand usually commands a price premium.

Alienware Area-51 RTX 5090 Gaming PC From $4,499.99

This least expensive Alienware Area-51 RTX 5090 gaming PC configuration is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K processor with 240mm liquid cooling, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and 2TB SSD storage. For an extra $250, you can upgrade to the Core Ultra 9 285K with 360mm liquid cooling. The Core Ultra 7 is already an excellent gaming CPU and you won't see any uplift in performance going with the Core Ultra 9. However, if you're a professional in need of the extra cores that the Core Ultra 9 offers (for example with AI generation), then the upgrade is worth it.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has emerged as the most powerful consumer GPU on the market. Although Nvidia has prioritized software updates, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology to improve gameplay performance, the 5090 still boasts an impressive 25%-30% uplift over the RTX 4090 in terms of pure hardware-based raster performance. The 5090 also has more (32GB vs. 24GB) and faster (GDDR7 vs. GDDR6) VRAM compared to the 4090. Although Nvidia GPU prices have been trending downwards, it's still difficult to find a 5090 card for below $2,500.

If you're in the market for a prebuilt gaming PC, Dell is one of the best brands we'd recommend. The Castlevania Netflix Series Is Getting a Special Edition Box Set That Comes With a Ouija Board

4 août 2025 à 23:31

Netflix’s Castlevania series is getting the box set treatment. The Blu-ray collection of all four seasons comes packed with bonus features, including a ouija board, making it a solid home entertainment release as well as a great collectible for fans of the original Konami game series and its screen adaptation.

The Castlevania box set is currently available to preorder for $158.99 (see here at Amazon or the Crunchyroll Store) and is set to release on September 30.

A Special Edition Blu-ray Set of Castlevania Is Releasing September 30

The Blu-ray set from Viz Media includes all four seasons of the show, which originally aired (well, streamed) on Netflix from 2017 to 2021. The full set comes packaged in a rather luxurious looking box with golden rose decals. A painted “family” portrait of Alucard, Sypha, and Trevor is featured on the front.

Inside the box are six discs packaged in their own case with an artistic rendering of Dracula's Castle on the front. It’s all quite gothic and ,in my opinion, manages to capture the vibe of the medieval fantasy show. Since its announcement, the box set has zoomed to the top of Amazon’s bestselling anime list.

Unfortunately, the box set is only available as a rather pricey collector’s edition, currently going for $154.98 on both Amazon and the Crunchyroll Store (though Crunchyroll members can apply their membership discounts). If you’re looking for a more affordable option, you can also pick up individual seasons on Blu-ray.

On the plus side, that price gets you plenty of accessories and bonus features in addition to the series itself. Here’s the full list of what’s included:

  • 72-page Color Booklet
  • Window Clings
  • Castlevania Themed Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Game Board and Game Piece
  • Art Galleries
  • Storyboards
  • Trailers
  • Production Animatics
  • Voice Actor Interviews

IGN's review of Castlevania's first season describes it as “a welcome reminder that video games actually can make for compelling TV when the right people are put in charge.” By the second season, we went so far as to call Castlevania the "king of video game adaptations."

While the original series closed with its fourth season, the spin-off Castlevania: Nocturne premiered in 2019. A second season arrived on Netflix this past January. As of now, we've yet to hear any updates about future renewals.

Get a 3-Pack of USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-A Adapters for About $1 Apiece on Amazon

4 août 2025 à 22:45

USB Type-C might be the new standard, but there's a good chance you still own PC peripherals that use the legacy USB Type-A to charge and connect, especially if you don't change out your mouse or keyboard or headset every year. Here's a simple and inexpensive solution to this problem. For a limited time, Amazon is offering a 3-pack of Basesailor USB Type-C to USB Type-A Adapters for only just $3.80 after you apply coupon code "NL43TTBJ". That comes out to only $1.27 per adapter. At this price you might as well have some to keep around just in case.

3-Pack USB Type-C to USB Type-A Adapters for $3.80

The package includes three pieces of the USB Type-A (female) to USB Type-C (male) dongles. These are USB 3.0 certified, meaning they support data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. These are perfect for connecting and charging your wireless headset, keyboard, mouse, card readers, or any other peripheral that still uses the older USB Type-A standard. They're also fine for connecting external storage drives although, depending on the type of drive, you may not be able to max out the drive's maximum speeds (especially if the drive uses an NVMe SSD).

The dongles don't support fast charging over Power Delivery, so they're not ideal for charging your iPhone or Nintendo Switch, although you can still charge them in an emergency albeit at a slower rate. These adapters are small so they won't protude much, and the casing is machined out of aluminum alloy. For just over $1 apiece, they're practically disposable.

The Biggest Magic: The Gathering Crashers and Climbers This Week - August 4

4 août 2025 à 22:00

The Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Universes Beyond set is done, at least insofar as the release calendar goes, with Edge of Eternities flying us across galaxies with some wild new cards, including some big-earners.

With cards that range from supernovas to spaceships, it’s peculiar that much of the community is most intrigued by a new lobster that can eat through artifacts to heal you and deal damage to rivals.

Let’s meet our new crustacean overlord, thanks to data from TCGPlayer.

Climbers: I’ll Have the Lobster

Kicking our climbers off with our Boros boss, Ragost, Deft Gastronaut is going for a couple of bucks in the showcase treatment.

He’s nowhere near the most valuable cards in Edge of Eternities, and dovetails nicely with Jumpstart’s Tempting Witch, a card that creates food tokens and also triggers damage. It’s ‘jumped’, but only to 13 cents, and might be worth a look for a Mardu deck.

As we noted recently, The Gaffer is a popular card, and we’re including it again as it’s hit new heights of over $12. For context, it was under $4 just a few weeks ago.

For additional synergies, why not chuck in the Nuka-Cola Vending Machine? It’s hardly a cheap card at around $18 for the non-foil, but it gives you more food tokens and turns them into Treasure tokens for ramp. You could build quite a powerful engine from these cards.

Finally, Academy Manufactor is an obvious pick for synergies here, since it gives you three (different) tokens for the price of one. It’s up to $6.

Bonus: The Most Valuable EoE Cards This Week

Edge of Eternities is packed with cool cards, and since it just launched last week, I thought I'd take a moment during this week's article to look at the priciest cards in the set so you can keep an eye out when you’re cracking packs (or any you want to eye up as standalone purchases, saucy).

That includes one card, Sothera, the Supervoid (Singularity Foil), that's already going for over $2000 on resale sites like TCGPlayer and eBay.

Some of other the highest-value cards in the set include Icetill Explorer (Showcase – Fracture Foil) at $382.16, followed by Exalted Sunborn at $320, and Starfield Vocalist at $287.55, both in the same Showcase – Fracture Foil treatment.

Anticausal Vestige is priced at $198.68, just ahead of The Endstone at $198.40 and an alternate version of Sothera, the Supervoid at $197.99, all in the Showcase – Fracture Foil style.

Devastating Onslaught comes in at $159.85, while The Dominion Bracelet is listed at $121.82. Rounding out the group is Uthros, Titanic Godcore (Borderless – Galaxy Foil), which currently sits at $92.52.

It's worth noting that these prices are taken around launch weekend, so they’ll fluctuate considerably as more product floods the market. We’ll be keeping an eye on things in the weeks to come, but expect big swings either way.

Crashers: Songs and Spellcraft

If you’ve got a landfall deck, The Wandering Minstrel from the Final Fantasy set is under a dollar and means your tap-lands come in nice and untapped. It’s not a big drop, but it’s an easy recommendation because that utility is super helpful at a nice low cost in Simic colors.

If you want to get some Legendary Creatures on the board quickly, Serah Farron can help. This Final Fantasy card lowers the cost of Legendary Creatures, then transforms into an artifact that powers them up, all for under $1.

Baloth Woodcrasher could be a lot of fun in an upgraded version of the World Shaper Commander deck, getting extra power and trample with land drops. Considering how many lands are included, plus Szarel, Genesis Shepherd’s ability to play them from your graveyard, you can keep hitting opponents for big numbers each turn for 8 cents.

If you don’t mind mixing up your Final Fantasy titles, Noctis, Prince of Lucis could be a really neat addition to the Scions and Spellcraft Commander precon. He can pay life to get artifact spells from the graveyard, while Y’Shtola, Night’s Blessed can help you get some of that life back.

Bonus: 10 EoE Cards Everyone Wants Right Now

Edge of Eternities is making some serious waves right now, but if you’re wondering which cards from the new set are worth keeping an eye out for, we’ve got you covered.

From spaceships to planets, this new sci-fi universe is a stark departure even in a year that’s included Aetherdrift, Tarkir, and Final Fantasy, and early impressions seem to be positive.

To clarify, these are the best-selling Edge of Eternities cards so far, thanks to data from TCGPlayer, and it's changed a fair amount from our initial coverage during pre-release.

Here are the best-selling Magic: The Gathering cards of Edge of Eternities so far.

Where to Buy MTG Edge of Eternities Sealed Boosters

Play Boosters are now the standard way to crack open Magic packs, having replaced both Set and Draft Boosters. But if you're on the hunt for rare cards, Collector Boosters are the best option.

These packs are more expensive, but are much more likely to include various foil treatments, extended arts, and all sorts. There are usually 5 Commons, 4 Uncommons, 5 Rare or Mythic Rare cards, a Land and a Token, but the rub here is that 6 of the included cards have a 'booster Fun frame' and 12-13 of them are foil.

Surprisingly, stock is already running low on Amazon for most Edge of Eternities boosters. That said, sites like TCGPlayer still have a solid supply, and in some cases, better prices too.

Lloyd Coombes is an experienced freelancer in tech, gaming and fitness seen at Polygon, Eurogamer, Macworld, TechRadar and many more. He's a big fan of Magic: The Gathering and other collectible card games, much to his wife's dismay.

Magic: The Gathering Full Release Schedule for 2025

4 août 2025 à 21:51

From soaring with dragons to facing off against Sephiroth and Aang, Magic: The Gathering has a packed year ahead. 2025 marks the first full cycle under Wizards of the Coast’s new release strategy, which splits the calendar evenly between the more classic Magic-original sets and the wildly popular "Universes Beyond" crossovers.

Most of the year’s main sets (aside from Avatar: The Last Airbender) are already available to preorder or buy on Amazon. That said, please also consult your local game store to find out when they're accepting preorders as well.

MTG: 2025 Release Calendar - At a Glance

Here’s your set-by-set guide to what’s dropping in 2025, breaking down release dates, when you can get your hands on everything, where you can preorder, and even includes a running list of every Secret Lair drop so far this year. We're starting off with a quick glance over the 2025 release calendar, but let's jump into a more in-depth look as well.

Universes Beyond: Marvel’s Spider-Man - Sept. 26

The debut set of the Marvel and Wizards of the Coast partnership features Spider-Man and will be swinging onto shelves this fall!

Players can expect to see cards based around not only Spidey himself but also members of his rogues gallery, including the Green Goblin, Doc Oc, and even the winner of 1988’s “Best Tongue Award," Venom. Unfortunately, this set won’t see any preconstructed decks.

This set will be getting a special type of product, however, with the Scene Box. Along with three play boosters, this set will give you six special borderless art cards that can be positioned to form a single action-packed scene that looks like it was pulled straight from the comics, featuring Spidey fending off villains, which can be displayed on the included paper easel.

Players on Wizards’ digital MTG client, Magic Arena and Magic Online, will also see the Spider-Man set, albeit without Spider-Man. Wizards has opted to create a duplicate Marvel-free set that is functionally identical but without any of the characters or imagery, referred to as “Through the Omenpaths” as a digital-only release.

Universes Beyond Avatar: The Last Airbender - Nov. 21

Closing out the year will be Aang and company with Universes Beyond - Avatar: The Last Airbender. Currently, outside of its existence, very little is known about this set, including what products will be released for it.

All we know is that we players can expect their favorite characters to show up, beautiful artwork, and an elemental showdown. But, if Wizards of the Coast nails the artwork and card mechanics, this could be one of the coolest Universes Beyond sets we have ever seen. Stay tuned for more news.

Every MTG Set Released So Far in 2025

Here's every Magic: The Gathering set released in 2025 so far, ordered from most recent release (Edge of Eternities), all the way to the first release of the year (Innistrad Remastered).

Edge of Eternities - Aug. 1, 2025 (Out Now)

Space, the final frontier. This is the theme for Edge of Eternities, the Summertime Magic set. Its mission, to introduce space-fantasy into the realm of Magic: The Gathering, explore strange new worlds, and to seek out new planeswalkers and combos.

This will mark the first time that Wizards is taking players into a more space-fantasy landscape, including slinging spells against aliens. It remains to be seen if there will be space wizards with swords made of light, however.

Universes Beyond: Final Fantasy - Jun. 13, 2025 (Out Now)

Already revealed to be the best-selling Magic set in the game's almost 35-year history, the Universes Beyond Final Fantasy set is a love letter designed by fans for fans. Featuring a larger set than normal, the cards here will showcase each of the 16 core Final Fantasy games' iconic heroes, villains, creatures, and locations.

The four preconstructed Commander decks are based around specific games, including VI, VII, X, and the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, each of which is available as both standard and collector versions.

This release was one of the biggest launches in MTG history, so grab your gunblade and get ready. We also recently explored our top ten picks to keep an eye out for when ripping open your sealed boosters.

While most of the commander decks and various other bundles are currently out of stock at major retailers, here's the pages to bookmark in case of restocks. It's also worth bookmarking this page, and following @IGNDeals on Twitter/X and Bluesky for further updates.

Tarkir Dragonstorm - Apr. 11, 2025 (Out Now)

Tarkir Dragonstorm returns players to the plane of Tarkir, which was last seen back in 2014, and once again features not only a ton of powerful dragons but also the various clans that rule this land.

The five clans, the Abzan Houses, the Jeskai Way, the Sultai Brood, Mardu Horde, and the Temur Froniter, each are built around different slices of the color pie, and this uniqueness is further expanded on with Dragonstor, with each clan, along with the dragons themselves, featuring new specialty mechanics tailored to their playstyle.

Big creatures, cool abilities, and more dragons to cram into your Ur Dragon EDH deck are here for fans, and on the topic of Commander, this set also features five different precon decks, with each one made for each clan.

Aetherdrift - Feb. 14, 2025 (Out Now)

If you were to summarize Aetherdrift as “Magic with racecars,” you would be a good 80% there. A large, multiversal race, known as the Ghirapur Grand Prix, is taking place in Avishkar, and racers from planes including Duskmourn and Amonket, among others are in attendance.

One of the special mechanics unique to Aetherdrift is “Speed,” where cards can get better, the more of these speed tokens they have, and along with the special showcase art cards, which resemble ’80s racing posters, really help the “professional racing” aesthetic land with this set. It also has Chandra the Planeswalker doing the Akira slide on a card.

Innistrad Remastered - Jan. 24, 2025 (Out Now)

Innistrad is Magic’s original Gothic Horror plane that first dropped back in 2011. These Remastered sets are special releases that include beloved card reprints and mechanics with some updates sprinkled in.

MTG Product Key - What to Buy?

Here is a breakdown of the standard types of products that sets release with and what they include.

Play Boosters

These are standard bread-and-butter 15-card packs of random cards. Each pack is composed of 7 common cards, 3 uncommon cards, 1 rare or mythic rare card, 1 basic land, 1 non-foil wild car, 1 foil wild card, and 1 ad, token, helper, or art card.

Most booster boxes contain 30 of these 15-card packs, though some special sets may contain fewer (usually 24).

Collector Boosters

Much like the Play Boosters, Collector Boosters also have 15 random cards in the pack. Still, these special packs contain more cards of higher rarities, special foiling, unique art or bordered cards, double-sided tokens, and potentially other bonuses.

These packs are also far more expensive than a typical Play Booster, and Collector Booster Boxes also only contain 12 packs of these elusive cards.

Commander Decks

The Commander format may have started as a community-driven format, but Wizards of the Coast has adopted it and now releases its own preconstructed 100-card Commander decks.

Each deck comes with two possible cards that can serve as the deck’s commander (Commander creatures have to be a Legendary creature, and whose color identity dictates the color cards that can be included in the deck.)

Each deck contains any required tokens for the deck, a 2-card Collector Booster sample pack, a strategy insert explaining its respective deck, and a reference card.

Collector’s Edition Commander Decks

Similar to Collector Boosters, these special Commander decks are functionally identical to their standard version counterparts, except with some special art and foiling for collectors.

Their prices are also far higher, and their lower print runs make them tough to get.

Bundle

Bundle products are great options for gifts, or if you want some packs of cards but also some nifty extras, too. Each bundle comes with 9 Play Booster packs, a bunch of basic land cards (unique to the given set), a pretty dice (usually a d20), and a storage box.

If you and each friend get a bundle, it can make for a fun draft experience, too.

Gift Bundle

The Gift Bundle is nearly identical to the standard bundle except for two things—it comes with a Collector Booster in addition to the standard nine play boosters, and the storage box has a bit more flair and foiling.

Prerelease Packs

Prerelease packs are special releases that you can get at your local game store during a set’s Prerelease launch event, containing six play boosters, a special promo card, and a special life counter - everything you need to create a small 40-card deck to compete against other attendees.

There tend to be various themes of these packs for players to pick from, with some cards that are more tailored to that specific faction or color combination.

Starter Kit

The Starter Kit is a product designed to introduce the game to new players. It contains two 60-card decks, boxes to store them, and instructional aids to help walk the two players through their first games.

As an added bonus, these also tend to include redemption codes to unlock the decks on Magic Arena, the digital Magic: The Gathering platform.

Released Sets of 2024: A Look Back

Magic: The Gathering Foundations – November 15, 2024

Capping off the year, Foundations arrived as Magic’s new entry-level product aimed squarely at newcomers. With simplified cards, curated reprints, and a structure reminiscent of Jumpstart, it was designed to make onboarding smoother than ever.

It’s the clearest sign yet that Wizards wants to bolster Magic’s long-term future by making the game more accessible without sacrificing its core identity.

Duskmourn: House of Horror – October 2024

Halloween season brought with it Duskmourn: House of Horror, one of the boldest thematic swings Magic has taken in years. Set entirely within a haunted mansion, it channeled modern horror vibes through its claustrophobic design, disturbing card art, and jump scare flavor. Instead of the usual plane-spanning scope, this set kept things intimate and creepy — and it worked.

Bloomburrow – August 2, 2024

If Duskmourn was the year’s most terrifying set, Bloomburrow was its most adorable. Set on a plane with no humans, it introduced a cast of heroic woodland critters — squirrels, frogs, bats, and more — banding together to defend their home. With its storybook aesthetic and approachable mechanics, Bloomburrow offered a lighter, friendlier take on the game that still held plenty of strategic depth.

Secret Lair: Monty Python and the Holy Grail – July 29, 2024

A standout among this year’s Secret Lair drops, the Monty Python and the Holy Grail collaboration leaned fully into the absurd. Split across two releases, it packed classic Magic cards with deeply specific Python references — from coconuts-as-horses to the European vs. African swallow gag — making it a bizarre, quotable delight for fans of the 1975 film.

Universes Beyond: Assassin’s Creed – July 5, 2024

July also saw the release of Magic’s crossover with Assassin’s Creed, adding another chapter to the Universes Beyond initiative. Sold in Beyond Boosters rather than traditional draft packs, the set emphasized thematic resonance over gameplay structure. Featuring major characters like Ezio, Altair, and historical icons like Leonardo da Vinci, it managed to blend stealth and strategy while staying Modern-legal.

Modern Horizons 3 – June 14, 2024

The third Modern Horizons entry didn’t hold back. Released in June, it introduced powerful new cards, format-defining reprints, and returning mechanics like Energy. Double-faced planeswalkers made a triumphant comeback, echoing Magic Origins, and familiar worlds like Zendikar and Theros helped inject a nostalgic punch. The draft format, meanwhile, was one of the deepest of the year.

Outlaws of Thunder Junction – April 19, 2024

Magic went full Western in April with Outlaws of Thunder Junction, a stylish and surprisingly villain-centric set. This was a rootin’-tootin’ showcase of bandits, bounty hunters, and black hats, complete with new mechanics like Plot and Spree. It pushed flavor to the forefront, giving Magic one of its most cohesive and playful settings in recent memory.

Universes Beyond: Fallout – March 8, 2024

March gave Commander players a radioactive treat with Universes Beyond: Fallout. The set delivered four thematically distinct Commander decks, tapping into iconic factions and characters from the Fallout games — Brotherhood of Steel, Super Mutants, Vault Dwellers, and more. With its retro-futuristic flair and solid deck construction, it proved a strong crossover effort.

Murders at Karlov Manor – February 9, 2024

Murders at Karlov Manor reimagined Ravnica through the lens of a murder mystery, complete with suspects, disguises, and evidence to collect. It introduced new mechanics to match the whodunit theme and even crossed over with Clue for an extra meta twist. It was a narrative-forward set that let Magic flex some genre muscles outside of its usual fantasy fare.

Ravnica Remastered – January 12, 2024

The year opened with a love letter to one of Magic’s most beloved settings. Ravnica Remastered compiled highlights from the city-plane’s long history, featuring cards from across its three blocks with updated art and retro-frame treatments. From powerful shock lands to fan-favorite guild cards, it was a nostalgia-rich start to the year for both collectors and players alike.

The New LEGO Sets for August Are Some of the Coolest Builds of 2025 So Far

4 août 2025 à 21:00

It’s August, so a new batch of LEGO sets is either now available or coming soon. And whoa boy are there a lot of new sets this month. The new LEGO releases include a bunch of One Piece sets based on the live-action Netflix show, plus new Fortnite, Star Wars, Marvel, Animal Crossing, and a whole lot more sets. Tons of new sets are out this month, so check out all of them on Amazon or the LEGO Store, or read on for our picks for the best below.

Featured in this article

If you want a loot at all the coolest new LEGO sets for August 2025, scroll through the catalog above. If you like having things segmented out into themes, keep reading.

LEGO Star Wars Sets

There’s never a shortage of awesome Star Wars LEGO sets, and this month is yet another absolute banger. I absolutely love the AT-ST Walker from the Ultimate Collector Series. However, Wicket the Ewok is adorable as a brick-built character, and this take on Jango Fett’s Starship is much more affordable than the previous one. And since Andor is one my favorite Star Wars stories, that K-2SO Security Droid set is looking mighty tempting…

LEGO Marvel Sets

Some cool new LEGO Marvel sets are out this month. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I always loved the Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock subway train scene from Spider-Man 2, so I’ll run with that. But you really can’t go wrong this month. Also check out our We Build LEGO Iron Spider-Man Bust feature to see how that one comes together.

LEGO Icons Transformers: Soundwave

Soundwave is one of the coolest Decepticons in all of Transformers. He’s a robot that can transform into a boom box — I mean, come on, that’s just awesome. And now you can build him along with two cassettes, or “Recordicons,” which also transform. Check out our We Build LEGO Transformers Soundwave feature to for details on this set to see if you want to pick it up for yourself.

LEGO One Piece Sets

This is the first time the “manga/anime/live-action” series gotten any LEGO sets, and they decided to go all in. These seven One Piece sets are all based on the Netflix life-action show, but the show hews close to the anime, and with LEGO you can’t really tell the difference. The Baratie Floating Restaurant set is the only one aimed at adults in this bunch, but The Going Merry Pirate Ship is cheaper while also being impressive and excellent.

LEGO Disney & Pixar Wall-E & EVE Is Up for Preorder

Some of my favorite Pixar characters are getting the full LEGO treatment, with this new Wall-E and EVE set. Not only that, but even in brick-built form, they maintain all the personality they have in the movie. This one’s available for preorder now, with a September 1 release date.

LEGO Batman Forever Batmobile

Say what you will about the movie Batman Forever. I only watched it once, in the theater, and I recall being entertained. But the design of the Batmobile is one of the coolest of them all, IMO. It has a whole spiky, gilled thing on, with an absurdly oversized tail fin. It looks great. Check out our We Build LEGO Batman Forever Batmobile feature for details on how it comes together.

LEGO Minecraft Sets

LEGO and Minecraft go together like sand and the beach. There are plenty of LEGO Minecraft sets to choose from, but maybe you like one of these new ones? The Enderman Tower is a standout.

LEGO Animal Crossing Sets

The LEGO/Nintendo partnership continues to bear fruit, with dozens and dozens of sets to choose from. Along the way, the companies have been quietly been building up an impressive array of LEGO Animal Crossing sets. I particularly like Blather’s Museum Collection in this month’s new releases since digging up fossils was one of my favorite things to do in New Horizons.

LEGO Game Boy Is Up for Preorder

Speaking of LEGO and Nintendo, the LEGO Game Boy went up for preorder recently. It’s not out until October, but it’s already become IGN’s top-selling item of the year on Amazon. That’s probably because it’s a 1:1 size scale re-creation of the classic handheld gaming device, and it comes with two Game Paks, and it only costs $59.99.

LEGO Fortnite Mecha Team Leader

Speaking of video games, a new LEGO Fortnite set is out now, and it’s a doozy. Mecha Team Leader first appeared in Season 9 as part of the Final Showdown Set. The LEGO version is a huge build aimed at adults, consisting of 2,503 pieces. It looks super impressive.

LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Medieval Horse Knight Castle

For a lot of LEGO sets, it’s kind of a bummer that once you build them, you’re kind of done with them. Kids can play with their sets, and adults can put theirs on display, but that’s about the extent of it. With 3-in-1 sets, you can break them down and re-build them into another set entirely. That’s pretty rad. Check out our We Build LEGO 3-in-1 Medieval Horse Knight Castle for details on this new one.

LEGO Architecture Neuschwanstein Castle

LEGO architecture sets are all based on real-world buildings, and they’re often stunning re-creations. This one, of Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavaria region of southern Germany, at the base of the Alps, is just gorgeous. From the dozens of windows to the pointy spires and the many trees lining the base of the mountainous terrain, it’s a beautiful set.

LEGO Arcade Machine

LEGO has a handful of arcade machine builds already, including this great PAC-MAN one. But the newest arcade set is this nostalgic build based on a generic “Space” game. You can drop a LEGO coin into the slot and it’ll shoot out the coin return. Inside, it houses a retro gaming room, complete with a CRT TV. It even has a minifigure and a mini arcade cabinet you build to put in the room.

LEGO Technic Sets

Chris Reed is a commerce editor and deals expert for IGN. He also runs IGN's board game and LEGO coverage. You can follow him on Bluesky.

Where You Can Still Watch Courage the Cowardly Dog After the Latest HBO Max Cartoon Network Purge

4 août 2025 à 20:17

HBO Max has taken the axe to yet another beloved cartoon series. Just last week the Warner Bros. owned streaming service quietly removed more Cartoon Network shows from the platform. Courage the Cowardly Dog is no longer available to stream on HBO Max, which means its no longer available on any streaming service. This news comes only a few months after the abrupt removal of Looney Tunes shorts that caused quite a stir earlier this year.

Courage the Cowardly Dog only had four total seasons with a total of 52 episodes, but it's a show that had a significant impact on my childhood. While I hadn't planned on rewatching it any time soon, the fact that I can't watch it anywhere is pretty upsetting. If you're wondering where you can still watch the show, I've tracked down the few options you still have available.

How to Watch Courage the Cowardly Dog

Where to Watch Episodes Online

If the news of the show's departure from HBO Max (which recently rebranded back to its original name) is making you want to watch a few old episodes of the series online, you'll unfortunately need to purchase them digitally. Online platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV have individual episodes available for $1.99 per episode or almost $24 per season. All 52 episodes are currently available to be purchased digitally.

Those prices are pretty expensive for a digital-only purchase, though. If you purchase all four seasons at once, you're looking at almost $100 for the right to watch a cartoon that used to be free to stream with an HBO Max subscription. You also won't technically "own" the episodes since platforms like Prime Video can still remove them later on if the rights are revoked.

Where to Buy Physical Copies

If you're looking for a more permanent way to watch Courage the Cowardly Dog, I'd suggest going with the physical media route. Unfortunately, the only option currently available to buy is a DVD. The good news is that it's the complete series and includes all four seasons for only $18. It's a much more affordable option than buying digitally and you'll actually own the episodes, so there's no worry of them disappearing on you.

Doing a bit of research, I was unable to find any credible information about a Blu-ray version of the series. So unfortunately for now you're stuck with just DVD if you want a physical copy. It's possible that Courage the Cowardly Dog will eventually get a Blu-ray release, but there's no indication that that will happen any time soon. The Looney Tunes Platinum collection got a Blu-ray release a few months after HBO Max removed the shorts, but it's yet to be seen if the same thing will happen for the Cartoon Network classics.

Which Cartoon Network Shows Have Been Removed in 2025?

Courage the Cowardly Dog is joining a now growing list of Cartoon Network titles that have been removed in 2025. Here's a quick list of what's no longer available:

  • Ed, Edd, n Eddy
  • The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
  • Apple & Onion
  • The Powerpuff Girls
  • Courage the Cowardly Dog

How to Watch the Fast and Furious Movies in Chronological Order

4 août 2025 à 19:42

As one of the longest movie franchises of all time, The Fast and Furious series has evolved from relatively modest street racing movies to the pinnacle of over-the-top Hollywood action — an evolution that's led to nearly $2 billion USD at the global box office.

Throughout that time, the franchise's twelve films (nine mainline, one spinoff, and two shorts) have woven together a convoluted narrative that's proven a bit difficult to follow. With the latest Fast and Furious film: Fast X now available to stream on Amazon, we've put together this handy guide on how to watch the Fast and Furious movies in chronological order.

At the bottom of the article, you'll find a second list that orders the films by their actual release dates, if you’d prefer to watch them in that order instead. Considering its lack of importance to the film series’ ongoing narrative, we aren’t including the animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers.

Jump to:

How Many Fast and Furious Movies are There?

There are currently a total of 12 Fast and Furious movies, 2 short films, and an animated series. Fast and Furious 11 (also known as Fast X: Part 2) is expected to conclude the main storyline, though spinoffs and side projects may continue. See our guide on where to watch every Fast and Furious movie for streaming details for the films.

How Long to Watch All Fast and Furious Movies

A Fast and Furious movie marathon will take you almost a full day to get through. If you’re looking to watch the entire franchise in a weekend, all of the films together take almost 23 and half hours.

Fast and Furious Movies in Chronological Order

1. The Fast and the Furious (2001)

The timeline begins with the franchise's first film, 2001's The Fast and the Furious. The fairly straightforward action plot tasks Paul Walker's undercover cop Brian O'Conner with taking down a crew of carjackers led by Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto. Brian gets involved in illegal street racing, befriends Dom, starts dating his sister (Jordan Brewster's Mia Toretto), and ultimately chooses those relationships over his duty as a cop. The first film also introduces viewers to series staple Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty Ortiz, Dom's love interest.

2. The Turbo Charged Prelude for 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

The Turbo Charged Prelude for 2 Fast 2 Furious shows how Brian O’Conner, on the run from law enforcement, gets from LA to Miami before the events of 2 Fast 2 Furious. The six-minute short film features no dialogue and a handful of races. It’s nonessential viewing, but it’s here nonetheless.

3. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

The series’ only movie without Dom Toretto, 2 Fast 2 Furious introduces Roman Pearce (Tyrese GIbson) and Tej Parker (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges). The story follows Brian O’Connor and Pearce as they go undercover to take down a drug lord in exchange for having their criminal records expunged — a mission that's ultimately successful. It also introduces a new love interest for O’Connor in Eva Mendes’s Monica Fuentes, who only appears again briefly in Fast Five.

Read our review of 2 Fast 2 Furious

4. Los Bandoleros (2009)

The second of the series’ two short films, Los Bandoleros takes place between Fast 1 and Fast 4, though its exact placement on the timeline is never specified. Written and directed by Vin Diesel, Los Bandoleros is set in the Dominican Republic, where Dom is lying low after the events of Fast 1. In its 20-minute runtime, the film manages to cover an oil war, corrupt politics, and a prison break, culminating in a romantic reunion between Dom and Letty. Chronologically, it’s also the first time we see Sung Kang’s death-defying Han Lue.

5. Fast & Furious (2009)

Not to be confused with The Fast and the Furious, Fast & Furious is the franchise's fourth mainline film, though it precedes Tokyo Drift (film number three) in the chronology. It's a sequel to Fast 1, set five years later, with Dom and Brian teaming up once again to take down a drug lord and avenge the “death” of Letty. Dom is ultimately arrested and sentenced, though en route to the prison, Brian, Mia, and Tego Leo (Tego Calderon) are seen intercepting the prison bus. Fast & Furious also introduces Gal Gadot’s Gisele Yashar. It was the Wonder Woman actor's first major film role.

6. Fast Five (2011)

Frequent series director Justin Lin’s third Fast movie raised the stakes with massive setpieces and a supersized cast featuring Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs. Picking up where Fast & Furious left off, Dom heads to Rio de Janeiro with Mia and Brian after escaping his prison transport. A familiar tale unfolds: They steal and race souped-up street cars while on the run from another government agency, this time Luke Hobbs and the DEA. Eva Mendes’s Monica Fuentes returns in a mid-credits scene to reveal Letty is still alive.

Read our review of Fast Five.

7. Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

Fast 6 begins with Dom and his crew once again on the lam. Hobbs, meanwhile, is looking to take down a mercenary group led by Luke Evans’s Owen Shaw. Hobbs recruits Dom by showing him a picture of Letty, whom Dom believes to be dead, and offering him and his crew amnesty back in the U.S. As always, there are vehicular shenanigans and casualties, though things ultimately end well for the crew, and the franchise carries on. The post-credits scene introduces Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw to the series.

8. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

The wackiest of the Fast movies timeline-wise is the series’ third movie, which actually takes place between Fast 6 and 7. The first Fast movie directed by Justin Lin features a Dom cameo but largely centers around teenage street racers Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) and Twinkie (Shad "Bow Wow" Moss), with series staple Han Lue serving as a mentor to Sean. With a $62 million haul, it's the series’ least successful entry by box office total.

Read our review of Tokyo Drift.

9. Furious 7 (2015)

The series’ biggest box office success to date is Furious 7, which grossed over $350 million — no other Fast film has cleared $250 million. It’s also the most well-received critically with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 82% (five points better than runner-up Fast Five). Furious 7 picks up at the end of Tokyo Drift, with Statham’s Deckard Shaw serving as the main villain. It was directed by James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring, Aquaman).

This is the last Fast film with Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner, as Walker died during the time of its filming. Furious 7 ends with an emotional farewell to Brian/Walker.

10. The Fate of the Furious (2017)

Order is restored here as Fast 8 follows Fast 7 in both the real and fictional timelines. The film’s stacked cast includes Charlize Theron, Russell Crowe, Scott Eastwood, and Helen Mirren, alongside series regulars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Dwayne Johson, and Jason Statham. In addition to the expected dose of fast cars, over-the-top action, and double-crossing, Fast 8 finds time for cyberterrorism and the threat of nuclear war.

Read our review of The Fate of the Furious.

11. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw (2019)

The series’ only spinoff film to date stars Johnson’s Luke Hobbs and Statham’s Deckard Shaw. The duo, who became buddies after escaping prison together in the previous film, are tasked with saving humanity from a deadly virus. The spinoff also brings the legendary Idris Elba into the fold as villainous super soldier Brixton Lore.

Back in 2020, Johnson said he was working on a Hobbs and Shaw sequel, though he vowed to never again appear in the mainline films due to a feud with Vin Diesel. So as it stands there are currently no discussions happening for a sequel.

Read our review of Hobbs and Shaw.

12. F9 (2021)

The series’ most recent film before Fast X, once again directed by Justin Lin, pits Dom and the crew against Jakob Toretto, Dom’s estranged brother played by John Cena. The family’s all here for this one, as nearly every major series player to date returns, in addition to new blood like Cena, Michael Rooker, and Cardi B. The plot involves another threat to humanity: Project Aries, a device capable of controlling all of the world's weapon systems. As always, that plot is foiled, in part thanks to Roman and Tej flying a Pontiac into space.

Read our review of Fast and Furious 9.

13. Fast X (2023)

Fast X is set to be the second to last chapter in the Fast and Furious series. Dom will have to protect his family from a new enemy named Dante (Jason Momoa) who is looking for revenge after the death of his father in Fast 5.

If you're wondering how to watch Fast X in 2024, it's currently available to rent on Amazon or you can stream it on Peacock with a subscription.

That also doesn't mean we're done with the universe. In the meantime, there are plans for Dwayne Johnson to star in a new Fast and Furious film as Luke Hobbs in 2025. There's also a rumored The Fast and Furious spinoff that will supposedly be led by the women of the series, according to a report from Syfy. Though, again, nothing is confirmed there, either.

The First Fourth Wing Board Game Was Just Announced Based on Rebecca Yarros' Empyrean Series

4 août 2025 à 18:59

The Empyrean book series has reached epic levels of popularity. Rebecca Yarros has been dominating the romantasy genre since Fourth Wing first came out and the trend has only continued with the release of the third installment, Onyx Storm, earlier this year. And now that these books have reached new heights in popularity, the first ever board game collaboration is on its way.

Hasbro just recently announced that a Fourth Wing version of Priorities and it's set to release on October 1, 2025. If you're not familiar with Priorities, it's a party game that has been around since 2020 that has players rank five cards based on whatever criteria they wish. The Fourth Wing version is exactly the same, but with moments, characters, and events from the books. You can preorder the new game at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Target ahead of its release.

Preorder Priorites Fourth Wing Edition

Like I mentioned above, the game is fairly simple. There's a huge stack of cards featuring things from the books and players pull five cards and rank them from best to worst. Since it's a Fourth Wing Edition of the game, there is one Wingleader and the rest of the players are part of the Iron Squad. If the squad is able to guess correctly how the Wingleader ranked a card then the team wins that card. If they don't, then the game wins it. Each card has a letter on the back, and If the players are able to spell out PRIORITIES before the game is able to, everyone wins. This is a cooperative game, so everyone in the squad is in this together.

As someone who has read all of these books, I definitely wouldn't advise playing this game with a group who has not read them. It's meant for three or more players and you'll want to make sure everyone involved has read at least Fourth Wing before you start playing. Since all of the cards are based on characters and scenes from the books, it would be rather difficult for someone to just jump in and start guessing a Wingleader's priorities without knowing who Jack Barlowe is, for example. Where I think this type of game makes the most sense is for a book club, or a book party for when the next installment in the series arrives.

When is the fourth novel in the Empyrean series coming out?

If you're thinking it would be fun to pick up this card game ahead of the next book's release, you likely still have plenty of time. Onyx Storm just recently came out back in February this year and the fourth book isn't coming out any time soon. The Goodreads page had listed a release date of January 2026 for the next title, but Rebecca Yarros took to Instagram to clarify that that is in no way happening. Yarros previously had fairly short gap between Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, but took a bit longer for Onyx Storm. With that in mind, we likely won't see the next book until 2027 or later.

The good news is, there is more Fourth Wing content on the way outside of books and board games. Prime Video currently has a Fourth Wing TV series in the works that will bring Yarros' work to the screen. Unfortunately, we do not yet have a release date for that either.

Silent Hill f Is Combat Heavy Because 'Challenging Action Games Are Gaining Popularity Among Younger Players Nowadays'

4 août 2025 à 18:54

We've already heard a lot about how Silent Hill f hopes to set itself apart from its predecessors, particularly by honing in on its Japanese roots. But it's also hoping to stand out to avoid "clone" comparisons to Silent Hill 2, and appeal to younger players by racheting up the combat.

Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto and Silent Hill f director Al Yang have been making the rounds just recently, and an interview has popped up at Game*Spark. Okamoto discussed that whilst his aims for the remake of Silent Hill 2 were to respect the source material, for f, he's interested in "more entertaining and thrilling action."

"Inserting more entertaining and thrilling action into Silent Hill f was an idea I had ever since the early phases of the development," Okamoto said, as transcribed by Automaton.

"And, since NeoBards is a company that’s tremendously good at making action games, this is also one of the reasons why we decided to choose them as the developers.

"The Silent Hill series isn’t considered a game that has entertaining action per se, but as we’re opening our doors to new players, we began to wonder what it would be like if we added more of those elements into the game.” Okamoto added.

"Challenging action games are gaining popularity among younger players nowadays, so I believed that if we implemented such elements into the game, it would resonate well even with people who are new to the series."

Yang added: "We didn’t want to end up recreating Silent Hill 2 over and over again, and we were aware that there was no reason to keep making clones of it. So, in order to avoid repeating what previous major titles did, we decided to make the action stand out more."

Silent Hill f is not a sequel to any of the existing Silent Hill games. Instead, it will offer a standalone story "independent from the series." That came from publisher Konami itself, which finally confirmed on X/Twitter that the latest instalment of the horror series — which is usually, if not always, based in a sleepy resort town on east-coast America — will be "a completely new title" that "people who have never played the Silent Hill series can enjoy."

Okamoto said that tougher combat, with the visuals and music's "juxtaposition between beauty and terror," along with the "terrible beauty of the game’s monster design," makes for a terrifying adventure. Even the puzzles are apparently "grounded in psychological anguish and suffering."

Higurashi and When They Cry creator Ryukishi07 also recently opened up about writing Silent Hill f, likening the game's supernatural and psychological elements to, uh, "salad dressing." The writer explained that it would initially be difficult for players to distinguish between the game's supernatural and psychological horror motifs, as they'll often feel like one and the same. As the game progresses, however, players will understand more of what's going on —and it's here that the game "will be like a salad dressing", he said.

Silent Hill f takes us to 1960s Japan, where we'll follow Hinako Shimizu, a teenager struggling under the pressure of expectations from her friends, family, and society. As displayed at the beginning of the Japanese-language reveal trailer back in March, it is the first Silent Hill game to get an 18+ rating certification in Japan. It's out for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series on September 25.

The Asus Prime GeForce RTX 5070 Graphics Card Is Finally Down to Nvidia Launch Pricing

4 août 2025 à 18:50

If you've been waiting for one of the more affordable Blackwell cards to come back in stock at a reputable retailer, here's a shocker: the RTX 5070 graphics card has dropped back down to its launch price. Amazon is currently offering Amazon Prime members a chance to pick up the Asus Prime GeForce RTX 5070 12GB Graphics Card for $548.99 with free shipping. The RTX 5070 is an excellent GPU for gaming at up to 1440p with high framerates, especially with DLSS 4 enabled. The Asus Prime uses a triple fan cooler, which is preferred over dual slot solutions for its better cooling potential and lower noise, as long as your PC case has the proper clearance.

Asus Prime GeForce RTX 5070 12GB Graphics Card for $548

Compared to the previous generation GPUs, the RTX 5070 performs comparably with the RTX 4070 Super. We wish there was a bigger generation improvement in raw performance, but the RTX 4070 Super was already an excellent card for 1080p and 1440p gaming. In any case, the RTX 4070 Super GPU has since been discontinued and is only readily available in the used market. The RTX 5070 also supports DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation, and the performance gap widens in games that support this new technology , like Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Doom: The Dark Ages.

The Asus Prime model boasts a triple-fan cooler design. If you're not constrained by space, a triple-fan cooler is preferred over dual-fan because it does a better job of keeping temps down. It's generally quieter too because the fans don't have to run at a higher speed. A triple-fan cooler generally costs more, which makes this deal even better.

It's currently listed for $69.99 (see here at Amazon or LEGO Store), so if you're a fan of the film and this set has caught your eye, now is the time to get your preorder in. Head to the link below to secure your set.

Preorder LEGO Disney & Pixar Wall-E & EVE Set

This set is recommended for ages 18 and up (making it one of the LEGO sets for adults) and comes with 811 pieces in total. These all come together to bring four different characters to life - WALL-E, EVE, M-O and Hal - with the first three having movable parts. WALL-E, EVE, and M-O all have poseable heads and arms, plus the tracks and brush on WALL-E and M-O move around as well. If you're a fan of the film, or just a Pixar fan in general, they're sure to be fun display models to have up.

This isn't the only LEGO set dropping in September, either. If you're looking to preorder more sets to work on for the rest of the year, there's also a Wicked Emerald City Wall Art set dropping next month that's worth keeping on your radar. And the month after that sees the incredibly cool LEGO Game Boy set releasing, which is a must-have preorder if you're looking for a little nostalgic kick.

You don't need to wait to pick up a fun new set, though. August 1 saw some brand new sets dropping that are also worth a look, including the LEGO Iron Spider-Man Bust and LEGO Star Wars: K-2SO. These Are The 10 Magic Cards That Everyone Wants From Edge of Eternities Right Now

4 août 2025 à 17:53

The latest Magic: The Gathering set, Edge of Eternities, has finally arrived, but if you’re wondering which cards from the new set are worth keeping an eye out for, we’ve got you covered.

Breeding Pool

Breeding Pool is the first of a whopping FIVE lands in the top ten, tapping for Green or Blue, but you’ll have to pay life if you don’t want it to enter tapped.

Watery Grave

The Dimir version of Breeding Pool, Watery Grave taps for blue or black but with the same caveat.

Godless Shrine

More land? Yep! At number 8, it's Godless Shrine which, as you can probably guess, taps for White and Black at the cost of land.

Uthros, Titanic Godcore

Also available in a Borderless, Galaxy Foil version that'll set you back $100, Uthros, Titanic Godcore taps for as many artifacts as you have as long as you've stationed enough creatures in it.

Evendo, Waking Haven

The last land on here, we promise, Evendo, Waking Haven is analogous to Uthros (above), except it taps for green mana for each creature you control.

Exalted Sunborn

Number five is Exalted Sunborn, a flying Angel Wizard with lifelink that gives you a touch of the Doubling Season effect of double tokens. It can also be Warped, meaning you can cast it for less, exile it at the end of the turn, and then summon it back later.

Cosmogrand Zenith

Cosmogrand Zenith is fourth, and lets you create tokens or add counters when you cast a second spell each turn.

Tezzeret, Cruel Captain

Tezzeret, Cruel Captain is up next, and he’s the only Planeswalker on this list. He’s all about using artifacts to power him up before spreading that love to creatures or finding even more of them.

Quantum Riddler

No, not the Batman villain. Quantum Riddler is a space Sphinx that can draw you cards, and potentially draw you a lot of cards if you're playing them quickly.

Icetill Explorer

Finally, Icetill Explorer is a super easy upgrade for the World Shaper precon since it allows for additional lands to be played, and from your graveyard. That second part is handy in case its Landfall effect mills your lands.

So, there you have it, the most popular cards of Edge of Eternities so far. Which ones are you considering for your deck? Let us know!

Microsoft Celebrates Rare's 40th Anniversary With a Limited Edition Controller and a Sea of Thieves Virtual Hat, Weeks After Everwild Cancellation

4 août 2025 à 17:47

Microsoft will sell a special edition Xbox controller to mark the 40th anniversary of legendary development studio Rare, just weeks after the company announced significant layoffs and the cancellation of the studio's long-awaited next project Everwild.

Also available today to mark the occasion is a Sea of Thieves Ruby Hat, which you'll need to redeem via the Microsoft Rewards app.

The offerings come at an uncertain time for the studio, which now looks to be doubling down on Sea of Thieves, its live-service pirate game launched back in 2018. Gregg Mayles, the veteran Rare designer and director, reportedly departed the studio following the end of Everwild, as did producer Louise O'Connor.

Founded in 1985, British development studio Rare is best known for its prolific era working with Nintendo on classics such as Donkey Kong, Banjo-Kazooie, GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark (a reboot of which was another victim of Microsoft's recent cuts).

It's amid all this, then, that Rare now celebrates entering its fifth decade, with a controller collaboration with peripheral making 8BitDo that features the Rare logo and some Sea of Thieves branding. The blue and gold-colored controller is on sale now for a limited time, priced at $89.99.

What's next for Rare? Outside of Sea of Thieves, it's unclear. But during a timely first Community Direct broadcast, the developer made clear it was staying committed to its buccaneer simulator, and had a plan to keep it updated with fresh content for at least a couple of years.

A team within Rare is now working on a "multi-year vision" to grow Sea of Thieves' overall scope beyond its usual seasonal updates. The game will also gain an optional paid subscription offering in "early 2026," which will unlock custom servers.

This Alienware RTX 5080 Gaming PC Drops to Just $2,150 During the Back to School Sale

4 août 2025 à 17:45

Alienware's Back to School Sale has officially kicked off with an excellent deal on a high-end prebuilt gaming desktop. Right now you can configure an Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 gaming PC for as low as $2,149.99 with free delivery. The Alienware Aurora R16 is a well-engineered and compact gaming rig with 240mm AIO water cooling, sensible airflow design, and a generous 1,000W 80Plus Platinum rated power supply. In the current market, buying a prebuilt gaming PC is the only way to score an RTX 5080 GPU without paying an exorbitant markup. If you were to try to find a 5080 GPU for your do-it-yourself PC build, you'll probably spend at least $1,300 for the graphics card alone.

Alienware Aurora RTX 5080 Gaming PC From $2,149.99

There are three tiers of this Alienware RTX 5080 gaming PC currently discounted. The base model costs $2,149.99 and is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, GeForce RTX 5080 CPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. The mid-line model upgrades the CPU to an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor (currently the most powerful Intel CPU available) and doubles the memory to 32GB for $2,649.99. The top-end model quadruples the memory to 64GB, and doubles the storage to 2TB SSD for $2,949.99.

The Core Ultra 7 265F is part of Intel's newest Arrow Lake-S lineup released earlier this year and boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 36MB L2 cache. This is a good all-around CPU for gaming, multi-tasking, and general workstation performance. For gaming, you won't see much of an improvement upgrading to a Core Ultra 9, especially if you plan to play at high resolutions where the GPU makes much more of an impact. However for multi-tasking and workstation and creator tasks, the Core Ultra 9 is superior because it has significantly more cores.

The GeForce RTX 5080 GPU will run any game in 4K

The RTX 5080 is the second best Blackwell graphics card, surpassed only by the $2,000 RTX 5090. It's about 5%-10% faster than the previous generation RTX 4080 Super, which is discontinued and no longer available. In games that support the new DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation exclusive to Blackwell cards, the gap widens. This is an outstanding card for playing even the latest games at 4K resolution with high settings and ray tracing enabled.

Pair it with Alienware's best gaming monitor

Update: You might be eligible for an additional 10% off if sign up for a free Dell account. Log in, heard over to Dell Rewards under the Benefits section, and see if a 10% off monitors coupon is available for you.

The best Alienware high-end gaming monitor just went on sale. The 32" Alienware AW3225QF 4K QD OLED gaming monitor has dropped to $899.99 with free shipping after a $300 off instant discount. This monitor incorporates Samsung's QD OLED technology; QD OLED panels are brighter than traditional OLED panels while maintaining near infinite response time, contrast ratio, and black levels that OLEDs are generally known for. The Alienware AW3225QF is HDR True Black 400 certified with up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness. It also boasts a factory calibrated 99.3% DCI-P3 color range, 1700R curve, 240Hz refresh rate, and G-Sync certification.

Check out more Alienware Back to School deals

Not everyone is the DIY type. If you're in the market for a prebuilt gaming PC, Dell is one of the best brands we'd recommend. Nowadays, the best Alienware deals are competitive compared to the cost of building your own PC with equivalent specs. Alienware desktops and laptops feature solid build quality, top-of-the-line gaming performance, and excellent cooling (further improved on the newer models). Best of all, there are plenty of sales that happen throughout the year, so it's not difficult to grab one of these computers at considerably less than their retail price.

As Baldur's Gate 3 Turns 2, Larian Boss Swen Vincke Talks About the Studio's Next Game and Asks Fans for Their Patience: 'We'll Need a Bit of Time to Make It All Work'

4 août 2025 à 17:38

Baldur’s Gate 3 is two years old, and to celebrate Larian boss Swen Vincke has briefly discussed how its enormous success paved the way for the studio to work on its hotly anticipated next game. But don’t hold your breath for a reveal: Vincke called on fans to be patient as Larian "need a bit of time to make it all work."

Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 was a breakout hit in 2023, dominating online conversation and setting sales records. Its wild success was a game-changer for Larian, and it has continued to perform strongly in the two years since launch, with mods helping to fuel seemingly never-ending interest in the RPG, especially on Steam.

Vincke told IGN in September 2024 that the success of Baldur’s Gate 3 meant Larian was now in a “luxurious position,” and could “pick our own destiny and our own path.” The developer shocked the video game world when it announced plans to make brand new games outside the Dungeons & Dragons universe, rather than follow Baldur’s Gate 3 with DLC or a sequel. It is now hard at work realizing that vision, Vincke said in a tweet.

“Crazy to think it’s only been two years,” he said. “It’s truly been life changing. Probably worth writing about one day. But I can spoil the biggest takeaway. BG3 was what allowed us to do our next crazy thing. How that will pan out is anyone’s guess but I can assure you we’re working hard to ensure you’ll have plenty of fun. Like really — loads of it. In a surprising way. And I can’t wait to show you. But you’ll need to be patient / we’ll need a bit of time to make it all work. It’ll be worth it though.”

Crazy to think it’s only been two years. It’s truly been life changing. Probably worth writing about one day. But I can spoil the biggest takeaway. BG3 was what allowed us to do our next crazy thing. How that will pan out is anyone’s guess but I can assure you we’re working hard… https://t.co/bGBYZoSXGZ

— Swen Vincke @where? (@LarAtLarian) August 3, 2025

In April, Larian ended major Baldur’s Gate 3 updates with the enormous Patch 8, which added 12 new subclasses. Its release sparked a player surge as fans flocked to test out the new subclasses as well as the brand new photo mode.

At the time, Vincke tweeted to say he expected Baldur’s Gate 3 to “continue to do well for quite some time,” not just because of the Patch 8 player boost, but because of “thriving” mod support.

In a post on Steam issued today, August 4, Larian said that since the introduction of mod support in September 2024, players have uploaded over 8,500 mods to mod.io and hit 265 million mod downloads ("of which, over 250,000 of all downloads are Withers Big Naturals by the way - we just thought you’d like to know").

This ongoing success in turn gives Larian “room to focus on making our next big thing as good as we can,” Vincke continued. “We’ve got big shoes to fill.”

Larian is done with Baldur's Gate, but D&D owner Hasbro has teased plans to continue with the series. Speaking to IGN at the Game Developers Conference, SVP of digital games at Hasbro, Dan Ayoub, let on that with Larian moving on, Hasbro has "a lot of people very interested in Baldur's Gate."

"We're kind of working out our plans for the future and what we're going to be doing with that," Ayoub said. "And actually, in pretty short order, we're going to have some stuff to talk about around that."

Ayoub didn't offer any further information about whether this "stuff" would be a full-blown new Baldur's Gate in the works, or some sort of crossover like the characters had with Magic: The Gathering previously. However, he did acknowledge that he eventually wants a Baldur's Gate 4, even if making one will likely take a while.

"It's somewhat of an unenviable position," he said. "I mean, we're not in a hurry. Right? That's the thing, we're going to take a very measured approach... We've got a lot of plans, a lot of different ways to go about it. We're starting to think about, okay, yeah, we're ready to start dipping toes a little bit and talking about a few things. And I think, in really short order, like I said, again, not to over-tease that point, we're going to have some other things to talk about around that."

F1 Is Brad Pitt's Highest Grossing Film of All Time, Overtaking World War Z

4 août 2025 à 17:10

F1 is a smash hit — and it turns out that it was also a major milestone for its star, Brad Pitt. The film is still killing at the worldwide box office, and has now surpassed $540 million to become Pitt’s highest grossing film of all time.

The actor’s 2013 film World War Z originally held that title, with a solid $540 million worldwide gross. But F1 has now amassed a whopping $545 million in the six weeks since it debuted in theaters, which pushes Pitt’s zombie film to the second slot.

F1 is also Apple's most successful theatrical release. Ridley Scott’s Napoleon only ended up grossing $218 million worldwide and Martin Scorsese’s impeccable thriller-drama Killers of the Flower Moon came home with $157 million globally. The racing film is the biggest release for an Apple film ever, so it’s kind of cool that it’s also Pitt’s most successful project to date.

That said, it is also a bit insane that F1 and World War Z were Pitt’s best projects financially — simply because of the longtime household name that he is. It’s a bit nuts to think that he’s never cracked the $1 billion mark with one of his films, but he’s also never starred in a superhero movie either (also kind of crazy). The man has been in a lot of successful films, so this just goes to show.

F1 is still in some theaters but will definitely end up on Apple TV+ at some point. If we had to guess, it might just drive its way onto the streamer by the end of the year. After all, who doesn’t wanna watch some cars go fast over the holiday break?

Call of Duty QA Workers Win First Union Contract With Microsoft After 3 Years

4 août 2025 à 17:06

Quality assurance workers at Raven Software, one of the developers of Call of Duty, have officially ratified their first union contract with Microsoft three years after they first unionized.

In a press release, the union shared several highlights of the new contract, including a guaranteed 10% wage increase over two years plus additional raises through merit and promotions, significant restrictions on mandatory overtime, layoff protections, expanded disability accommodations, and more.

“After more than three years of organizing and bargaining, seeing it finally pay off feels incredible,” said bargaining committee member and QA tester Erin Hall in a statement. “From day one, we made it a priority to include every voice in the room, and the contract we came out with reflects what we need—better pay, real career paths, and protection from burnout. It’s a contract that actually values the work QA does. I’m proud of what we accomplished, and I hope it shows other game workers that organizing works—and it’s worth it.”

Raven Software's QA union has had a long road to get here. The inciting incident for its unionization was a round of layoffs back in December of 2021 as a part of a studio restructure instituted by then-parent company Activision Blizzard. The following day, employees walked out to protest the cuts, garnering the support of employees at other Activision Blizzard companies. Raven Software continued to strike for weeks before the company finally responded in January, only to be acquired by Microsoft just over a week later. By the end of the month, Raven QA workers had announced the formation of Activision Blizzard's very first union. While Activision Blizzard declined to recognize the union voluntarily, the group won its union election the following May anyway.

Since then, a number of other groups under Microsoft Xbox have unionized, both within Activision Blizzard and in other subsidiaries such as ZeniMax. This past May, QA workers at ZeniMax Media reached a contract agreement with the company, while many others are still at the bargaining table.

Battlefield 6 Matchmaking Will Include SBMM — Among Other Things Like Ping, Location, And Server Availability

4 août 2025 à 17:04

Whether this is good or bad news depends a little on your perspective, but it looks like Battlefield 6 will include skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) to a degree.

EA reportedly confirmed to CharlieIntel at a Battlefield 6 press event that the shooter's matchmaking will focus on: ping, player's location, server availability, and "some" skill factor, and vary depending upon which mode you're playing.

I doubt much of that will surprise many of us — we're all use to using the closest servers to us geographically, for instance, or having to switch regions when there's high demand — but it's that latter bit about "skill factor" that's raised some eyebrows. And concerns.

SBMM has been a hot topic across a number of FPS communities for some time now, including Call of Duty and Apex Legends. For some, ranking similarly-skilled players in competitive groups ruins the experience and negates the random nature of unranked play, while others believes it helps level the competitive multiplayer playing field, especially for new players. In fact, Call of Duty players were so vexed about SBMM that earlier this year, some decided to submit requests to publisher Activision to ascertain once and for all what their unofficial ranks were.

Before you begin your strongly-worded email to EA's customer support, however, note skill is just one of the factors listed here that pertain to matchmaking, and it's unclear right now just how big a proponent it will be. However, with a new "server browser solution" on the way, players will be keen to see how it all plays out… literally, in this case.

"FYI For COD Fans," pointed out one respondent. "These exact parameters have always existed in Battlefield and this is NOT SBMM akin to Call of Duty. Nothing like it at all. This is simply how the game balances teams, players from all skill brackets will be in one lobby."

"Entire COD Community has PTSD from the last decade of releases hahaha," joked another.

We recently got a look at the shooter's upcoming battle royale mode which, according to previous leaks, is set in California, with insertion via CH-47 Chinook. The destructive ring is apparently made out of a compound called "NXC.” Despite the rumors, however, Battlefield 6 won't be $80.

"Battlefield 6 casts its eyes back to the series' best years, mixing what we loved from the likes of Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4, but is this resurrection of past glories actually exciting?" we asked in IGN's Battlefield 6 preview.

"From resurrecting its core class structure of Assault, Support, Engineer, and Recon, to whether or not Battlefield's staple game modes like 64-player Conquest are still just as fun as before." Read on for more on why we think BF6 feels like a "safe, yet explosive return to the shooter's past."

First announced way back in 2021, Battlefield 6 is out on October 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S (although EA currently has no plans to bring Battlefield 6 to Nintendo Switch 2, unfortunately). Unlike Battlefield 2042's lukewarm reception, fans seem pretty pleased with what they've seen so far, and for quite some time, EA wasn't even trying to take leaked assets down.

How to Watch the Transformers Movies in Chronological Order

4 août 2025 à 16:32

In the 1980s, Hasbro's mega-popular Transformers toy line spawned an animated series, an animated movie, and a run in Marvel comics. The Transformers saga continued throughout the '90s and '00s with new cartoons, but it wasn't until 2007 that these robots in disguise got the live-action film treatment.

Michael Bay's live-action Transformers movie took audiences by storm, showcasing top-of-the-line special effects and thrilling action. And in the years since this blockbuster's first spectacle, the franchise has unleashed six more live-action movies as well as the animated film, Transformers One.

So what order do these films go in? Are you looking to watch them as they were released or has the latest prequel, Transformers One, inspired you to do a chronological binge? Whatever the case, you'll find both lists of Transformers movies in order below.

Jump to:

How Many Transformers Movies Are There?

There is currently a total of eight feature-length Transformers movies, including the new animated film Transformers One. More films may follow: Rise of the Beasts is planned as the start of a new trilogy, according to Deadline, while THR reports Paramount is working on a separate Transformers project written by Marco Ramirez (Netflix’s The Defenders) and directed by Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings).

See our guide on where to stream every Transformers movie for a list of where to watch each of the films online.

Transformers Movies in Chronological Order

1. Transformers One

According to the producer of the film, Transformers One takes place about 3 billion years before any of the other movies in the franchise. The latest film tells the origin story of both Optimus Prime and Megatron back when they were still on their home planet of Cybertron. Transformers One is also a completely animated film.

2. Bumblebee (2018)

The first movie, chronologically, is 2018's prequel Bumblebee, starring Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie, a teen reeling from the death of her father, who discovers an Autobot, Bumblebee, hiding on Earth. Even though the film was eventually declared as a reboot of the franchise, it still takes place before everything else, back in 1987, giving fans actual Transformers in the decade these giant robots first made their appearance.

3. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)

Billed as a sequel/follow up to Bumblebee (again, if we're treating this all as a rebooted timeline), Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is said to take place in 1994 and involve a pair of archaeologists from Brooklyn who come into an ancient conflict through an adventure that ties in with three factions of Transformers: the Maximals, the Predacons and the Terrorcons. Rise of the Beasts will be the first Transformers live-action movie to be inspired by the Beast Wars cartoon. Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback are set to star, with Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime and Ron Perlman voicing Optimus Primal.

4. Transformers (2007)

The massive movie that started it all, Michael Bay's Transformers brought the Autobots vs. Decepticons war to Earth in a wicked way, putting Shia LaBeouf's Sam, Megan Fox's Mikaela, and the U.S. Armed Forces in the middle of an ancient galactic conflict that traces all the way back to the Transformers' home planet Cybertron. For the first time, Transformers fans got to see favorites Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Megatron, Starscream, and more interact with human stars and battle through real explosions.

5. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

The franchise's first sequel, Revenge of the Fallen, brought back Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, and Tyrese Gibson while introducing Tony Todd as The Fallen, Megatron's master and founder of the Decepticons. As the Autobots work with a secret military organization and try to make a home for themselves on Earth, The Fallen returns to wreak havoc, calling on the Constructicons to combine and form gigantic foe Devastator.

6. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)

Megan Fox was out and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was in as Shia LeBeouf's new girlfriend, in Michael Bay's third Transformers flick, Dark of the Moon, which operated under the premise that America's space program was developed to investigate a crash on the moon — the site of a downed spacecraft, the Ark, from Cybertron. A new evil plot involving Decepticons and the previous Autobot leader, Sentinel Prime (voiced by Leonard Nimoy), is hatched and it's once again up to Optimus Prime and his team to save the day and stop Cybertron itself from being wormhole'd into our own solar system.

7. Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)

Mark Wahlberg joined the Transformers franchise in Age of Extinction, as Cade Yeager, a father and struggling inventor swept up in the latest feud between Autobots and Decepticons. Dinobots were introduced for the first time, as well as a reincarnation of Megatron, known as Galvatron. Cade and his daughter help Optimus Prime protect Earth from both an ancient and powerful menace and a new shadowy group determined to conquer the world.

8. Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)

Michael Bay was still on board for the fifth Transformers film, which marked the last live-action chapter in this particular timeline run. The Last Knight saw Mark Wahlberg return from Age of Extinction and join Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, and Glenn Morshower, who all came back from the first three movies. A brainwashed Optimus Prime, renamed Nemesis Prime, was sent back to Earth to retrieve Merlin's staff, which could absorb Earth's energy and restore Cybertron. Oh, and who better to join the saga for its final Bay-helmed installment than...Sir Anthony Hopkins!

Upcoming Transformers Movies

The next live-action Transformers movie will be a G.I. Joe crossover, according to franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. On the animated front, di Bonaventura initially said there were plans for a sequel to 2024's Transformers One, though a poor box office performance (despite relative acclaim) led to Paramount abandoning the idea.

It's not all bad news. There are reportedly several additional Transformers movies on the way: Hasbro is said to be treating 2023's Rise of the Beasts as the start of a new trilogy, while a separate project written by Marco Ramirez (Netflix’s The Defenders) and directed by Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings) is reported be in the works.

The Nintendo Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the most faithful remake of the original GameCube sequel to Paper Mario that released in 2004. It's arguably the best Paper Mario game there has ever been.

Super Mario Party Jamboree (2024)

The third Mario Party game of the Switch generation, Super Mario Party Jamboree is the series' biggest entry to date with 22 playable characters, seven game boards, and over 110 minigames across its various single- and multiplayer modes. Jamboree notably intrdouces the Jamboree Buddies mechanic, which allows you to compete for companions through more complex minigames called Showdowns.

Super Mario Party Jamboree was also one of the select games that got an enhanced edition for the Switch 2. This enhanced edition is called "Jamboree TV" and incorporates the Switch 2's mouse, voice, and camera features... to varying results.

Mario and Luigi: Brothership (2024)

The most recent Mario game isn't just dedicated to one brother: Brothership launched in November as the first mainline "Mario and Luigi" game from Nintendo since 2015's Paper Jam. With a fresh new artstyle, gibberish voicelines, and even some turn-based combat, Brothership lets you take control of both brothers to restore the land of Concordia. And while our Mario and Luigi: Brothership review did say the game "feels designed specifically for ages six to 12 rather than ages six to 66," that could make this game a great gift or entry point for younger gamers.

Mario Kart World (2025) *Switch 2 Exclusive

The newest Mario game brings us into the world of the Switch 2: a new Mario Kart game launched alongside alongside (and bundled with) the new console on June 5. Nintendo has also released free Switch 2 updates for games like Super Mario Bros. Odyssey, and a Switch 2 enhanced edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree launched on July 24.

Leaks have also suggested a new 3D Mario title will release later in the year, but nothing has been confirmed here yet. In the meantime, it's safe to say we'll plenty more of the plumber on the Switch 2.
