'Big Stuff's Gonna Happen' — The Boys Season 5 Finally Has a Release Date and a Teaser Trailer

7 décembre 2025 à 01:00

The Boys Season 5 finally has a release date as well as the long-awaited teaser trailer for the fifth and final season.

Season 5 kicks off on April 8, 2026 on Prime Video, showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke announced at CCXP Brazil, with two episodes, followed by a new episode each week. The series finale has a release date of May 20, 2026, marking the end of The Boys for good.

The trailer, below, revolves around Karl Urban’s Butcher rallying the troops as The Boys mount a fightback against Homelander, played by Antony Starr. Everyone seems up for it, although it very much looks like not everyone will make it out of the end of Season 5 alive. Keep an eye out for Jensen Ackles‘ Soldier Boy, who is back on ice and watched over by Homelander. Speaking of Homelander, we see him beat someone, or something, to a bloody pulp. A glimpse at a big name character death, perhaps?

We're going out with a fuckin' bang. It's The Boys final season teaser trailer, folks. Get ready to climax April 8. pic.twitter.com/05lAd9VaZl

— THE BOYS (@TheBoysTV) December 7, 2025

Here’s the official blurb on The Boys Season 5:

In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.

Season 5 not only follows on from the end of Season 4, but Season 2 of spinoff Gen V. Fans were left wondering how the incredibly powerful Marie from Gen V might fare in a showdown with overpowered The Boys supervillain Homelander. Kripke has said in the past, however, that fans shouldn’t expect Marie to appear in The Boys Season 5 as a Captain Marvel-style deus ex machina who kicks Homelander’s ass. That’s because Marie still hasn’t mastered her powers, or as Kripke has put it in a number of Gen V Season 2 finale spoiler interviews, she’s not Neo at the end of The Matrix.

For a much deeper dive on all this, check out IGN’s Gen V Season 2 Ending Explained: How It Sets Up the Final Season of The Boys article, but to summarize, Marie can control blood, which potentially makes her more powerful even than Homelander. Homelander, for the uninitiated, is a sort of evil Superman, a character so overpowered that few rivals dare question his word. But Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, has the potential to kill him due to her ability to command and weaponize blood.

The big question, of course, is whether Homelander actually dies in The Boys Season 5. Kripke wouldn’t give that away, of course, but did tell THR that Billy Butcher is “front of that line” when it comes to characters wanting to take Homelander out. But then there’s the likes of Stan Edgar, the aforementioned Marie, Annie, and Huey who would no doubt all like a piece.

Also in that interview, Kripke said Season 5 would see “this active and growing resistance led by Starlight that A-Train is an important part of. They’re really trying to take the fight back to Homelander and this sort of fascist government.”

“They’re trying to mount a real push, but they’re also outgunned, outmanned," he continued. "You’re in an entire country that has drunk Homelander’s Kool-Aid. They’re outmatched by the size of the hundreds of superheroes that are in every town across the country, who have been given authority over the police. So it really is a true underground resistance against a fascist government, which definitely has no comparison or parallel to anything going on anywhere in the world.”

There's more to come from The Boys universe after Season 5 ends, of course. While Gen V Season 3 remains up in the air, prequel spinoff, Vought Rising, is confirmed. Vought Rising is said to explore the early days of The Boys’ nefarious mega corporation, Vought International. And then there's The Boys: Mexico, executive produced by Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal and written by Blue Beetle scribe Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.

Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir: New Footage Revealed at CCXP

7 décembre 2025 à 00:33

Some very brief, blink-and-you'll-miss-it footage from the upcoming Amazon series Spider-Noir was just revealed at CCXP25 in Brazil. As part of a sizzle trailer shown prior to a panel for Prime Video's The Boys at the massive Thunder Stage (think San Diego Comic-con's Hall H), a brief scene from the new show starring Nicolas Cage was shown for the audience in attendence.

At the beginning of the preview, we see Spider-Noir's eyes. Then we see a mash-up of a bunch of other current and upcoming Amazon shows. We then cut to a 1930s-style burglar or crook. All of a sudden, the lights go on behind him and Spider-Noir is standing there. Cut to black.

It was just yesterday that Amazon released new posters for the series, indicating that viewers can either watch the show in black and white or color when it arrives next year.

For more on Spider-Noir, read our story about how the live-action Spider-Man spinoff sees Nicolas Cage playing Ben Reilly, not Peter Parker.

And for more on CCXP, check out major reveals from the convention for Marvel, Fallout, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and more.

Spider-Noir will stream on MGM+ in the United States and on Prime Video globally in 2026.

'He Wouldn't Say That to Tom Cruise' — Scream and Five Nights at Freddy's Star Matthew Lillard Reacts to Quentin Tarantino Insult

7 décembre 2025 à 00:16

Scream and Five Nights at Freddy's star Matthew Lillard has admitted it "it f***ing sucks" to be on the receiving end of an insult from Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill director Quentin Tarantino.

Earlier this week, Quentin Tarantino hit the headlines for saying There Will Be Blood could have been his favorite film of the 21st century if “weak sauce” actor Paul Dano wasn’t in it.

The Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs writer and director appeared on The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast to reveal his 20 favorite films of the 21st century, and in doing so said There Will Be Blood might have been his top pick if it weren’t for Paul Dano, who he described as the film’s “giant flaw.” Dano played identical twins Paul and Eli Sunday in Paul Thomas Anderson's 2007 period drama.

But while Dano was the center of attention this week, Tarantino insulted actors Owen Wilson and Matthew Lillard in the same breath, saying: “I don't care for him [Paul Dano], I don't care for Owen Wilson, and I don't care for Matthew Lillard."

Lillard reacted to the drive-by insult at GalaxyCon in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Lillard addressed the audience of fans by bringing Tarantino’s insult up.

"Quentin Tarantino this week said he didn't like me as an actor," Lillard said. "Eh, whatever. Who gives a s**t?"

Lillard went on to reveal that Tarantino’s words had affected him. "The point is, is that, it hurts your feelings. It f***ing sucks. And he wouldn't say that to Tom Cruise. He wouldn't say that to somebody who's a top-line actor in Hollywood. I'm very popular in this room. I am not very popular in Hollywood. Two totally different microcosms, right? And so, you know, it's humbling, and it hurts."

At that point, someone from the crowd shouted out “we love you!” which sparked cheers from the audience.

@little_spooks we love you @Matthew lillard #fyp #matthewlillard #quentintarantino #galaxycon #storytime ♬ original sound - Spooky

While Lillard feels out of place in Hollywood, he’s set to star in some major productions in the coming years. With Five Nights at Freddy's 2 out the door, he’s set to reprise his role as Stuart "Stu" Macher in Scream 7, and will play a villain in MCU Disney+ show, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

Tarantino, meanwhile, came under fire from Paul Dano fans this week, and a number of Hollywood big-hitters came to the Riddler actor’s defense, too. Tarantino is coming off the back of a Kill Bill collaboration with Fortnite. He most recently directed and wrote The Lost Chapter: Yuki's Revenge, an anime adaptation of a cut scene from Kill Bill that premiered in the battle royale.

Rhythm Doctor Review

7 décembre 2025 à 00:00

When you sit down with a game, you make a pact with it: you’ll push the buttons, and it will show you what happens when you do. A lot of games don’t really care to interrogate what that means, to use the physical realities of the medium to tell a story. Remember having to plug your controller into the second port of your PlayStation to fight Psycho Mantis? That’s rare. Instead, many of them are content to be films where you control the action. Rhythm Doctor is not one of those games.

In the eight or so hours I spent seeing its 1.0 version through to completion, Rhythm Doctor frustrated me, earned some laughs, made me tear up, and used this medium to tell a story in ways I’ve never seen a game do before. It is one of the most difficult rhythm games I’ve ever played, and one I couldn’t put down. Near the end, I felt like I might need a little rhythm therapy myself, a shock to the heart to keep me going. But I wanted to live in that world a little longer, listen to these songs a little more, spend a little more time with these characters. It was worth it. Rhythm Doctor drove me crazy, and I loved it.

In Rhythm Doctor, you are an intern assigned to Middlesea Hospital. You work remotely, so you sit behind a screen and watch what’s happening through the hospital’s cameras. The doctors and patients speak to you, but you cannot respond to them. Well, you can, but they can’t hear the intern. Like you as a player, the intern is part of this world but not of it. A participant, but not a resident. When you see yourself on screen, it is as a long arm hovering over a button. The patients sometimes jokingly call you Doctor Finger. It’s a brilliant bit of “player-as-character” that Rhythm Doctor makes the most of throughout its runtime. That this story features some absolutely gorgeous pixel art spritework is just a bonus.

The simple but extremely effective gimmick here is that Middlesea is experimenting with a new treatment that promotes healing by defibrillating patients’ hearts in time with their heartbeats. Your job is to press the button on the defibrillator in sync with the beat of their heart. That’s it. There is only one button. Press it every 7th beat in time with the patient’s heart. Line the beats up properly, and you’ll cure what ails them.

That might not sound hard, and it isn’t. At least at first. One, two, three, four, five, six, press is easy enough. But then you’ll get to polyrhythms, hemiolas, irregular time signatures, silent beats, the works. Again, all you have to do is press your button on every seventh beat. But it gets challenging quickly. I used to think I was good at rhythm games. I played Guitar Hero and Rock Band on Expert. I used to play a couple different instruments. After playing Rhythm Doctor, I no longer think that. Few games have challenged me like this did.

You’ll have to keep pace yourself, and overcoming initially brutal levels was a thrill.

Sometimes you’ll be treating multiple patients at once, each with their own rhythm, and you’ll have to keep track of them simultaneously. Some may drop in and drop out. The excellent songs their hearts are beating to will abruptly change pace. You may have to hit notes in rapid succession or hold them or match a tempo you’ll hear and then have to reproduce. There is a visual indicator here, but it’s not going to hold your hand or tell you exactly when to press your lone button. You’ll have to keep pace yourself, and overcoming initially brutal levels was a thrill.

Rhythm Doctor will help you out – most levels feature a dedicated tutorial teaching you new concepts, certain beats are often preceded by unique sound effects to let you know they’re coming, and a nice nurse will often call out timing changes with a “Get Set Go!” in time to the beat before the change occurs, but visual prompts are limited. There’s no “fit the note into this handy-dandy slot it's barreling towards” in Rhythm Doctor. You have to keep time. I often found myself tapping my other hand against my thigh, silently counting to seven, or moving my head from side to side.

And you’ll need to, because Rhythm Doctor likes to mess with you, to use the idea that you’re a guy behind a screen pressing buttons to tell its story. If you’re treating a patient while a virus is messing with your connection, you’ll feel it. There will be static, the beat will be thrown off, and things will pop up or fade out. At one point, a bunch of pop-ups saying “DISTRACTION!” overwhelm your screen. As a player, it’s annoying, especially if you’re somewhat reliant on visual cues. As a storytelling conceit, it’s dynamite. Dealing with that would be difficult and irritating, especially at work! I could practically hear the virus mocking me; J.K. Simmons breathing in my ear. “Not quite my tempo.”

But that’s not the only time Rhythm Doctor pulls this trick. Sometimes, it will shrink your screen and bounce it around to the beat. Once, when Cole, a down on his luck musician with a caffeine addiction, rushes across the screen to get to Nicole, a barista at the hospital’s cafe who he’s grown fond of, the game window travels with him as you struggle to keep up via the hospital’s cameras, going entirely off your monitor before reappearing. Even the songs themselves tell a story: when a patient named Logan has trouble admitting his feelings for another named Hailey, their songs reflect it, and he often loses the beat during that level. As the two get closer across several songs, their heart rates grow closer in time. When he finally summons the courage to make it happen, the track resembles a duet at a Broadway show.

The songs here vary from showtunes to dubstep to techno and everything in-between, and each is used to tell a story like this. Every patient’s unique heart rhythm can and will show up in other tracks as they bond with one another, whether it’s a miner helping an injured baseball player rehab from an injury, an elderly couple at opposite ends of the hospital who long to see one another, or Cole and Nicole hash out their issues through song. In Rhythm Doctor, the music is part of the story. Each track moves the narrative forward, and gets to the heart of who these people are and how they feel about one another. You can treat a lot of things with medicine, but sometimes the only cure for a damaged heart is working through what caused it in the first place. I cared about these characters and their relationships, and I wanted to stick around.

That’s good, because you’ll probably have to. Rhythm Doctor holds you to a high standard. Cs may get you degrees, but you’ll need a B grade or better before you can move on to the next level. That can be a little frustrating if you get stuck, and I’m not ashamed to say I had to turn the difficulty down to clear some of the harder stages. Some even have “Night Shift” versions for an extra challenge and a bit more story, and there are several bonus levels to tackle as well, which are goofy and a lot of fun, like the one where a group of nurses pursues a limousine, kicking away projectiles the limo is hurling at them. Others are just chill vibes where you hang out with the characters.

I cared about these characters and their relationships, and I wanted to stick around.

Through it all, though, you’re reminded that while you’re part of this story, it’s not about you. Without spoilers, there’s a rather touching scene later on that you hear about but don’t witness because you’re busy helping another patient. Almost every other character is there, but you’re helping someone else, and the scene happens without you. You only hear the other characters react to it. On one level, it’s smart commentary on the limitations of being behind a screen and the role of the player; you’re not part of this world physically, not matter how badly you might want to be. Your job is to watch and press buttons. On another, it’s a reminder that no one recovery, no one part of the hospital, and no one patient, is less important than any other. It all matters. And there’s emotional resonance here. When one of Cole’s tracks says “Sometimes I’m angry I’m not doing better than I thought I’d do at this point,” I had to pause the game for a moment. I’ve been there. I understand that feeling. I understood that character, and all his flaws. And I admired his persistence in spite of it all.

Rhythm Doctor also features some shockingly relevant commentary on the state of healthcare and capitalism. As the program you’re part of gains traction, there’s pressure from the hospital’s administrator (and head doctor) to expand it, eventually resulting in layoffs to hospital staff and overworked doctors. After all, why have staff when you can have a miracle treatment an intern in their pajamas can perform from their laptop? You don’t need people, right? Just results. Rhythm Doctor ends about as perfectly as it can given all the plates it’s spinning, but it’s nice that it never pulls punches. Nothing is free; everything has a cost, and that cost might be other people.

If you need a break from the story, there’s also a comprehensive level editor to play with and community tracks to download. I’ll be honest with y’all; I’m not much of a level editor cat, but what I’ve played of the community tracks is genuinely impressive. Rhythm Doctor’s soundtrack is so good that I’ve listened to it in between sessions, but it’s great to see developer 7th Beat Games turn their baby over to the community and say “go nuts.” In a world obsessed with selling you something at every moment, editors like this feel increasingly rare, and I’m glad it’s here.

Netflix Sends Subscribers Email Promising 'Nothing Is Changing Today,' as Concern Over Price Rises Grows Following Warner Bros. Acquisition News

6 décembre 2025 à 23:45

Netflix has sent subscribers an email of reassurance following the news of its $82.7 billion deal to acquire Warner Bros., amid concern over potential price rises.

The email — reviewed by IGN — promises subscribers that “nothing is changing today,” and confirms that the Warner Bros.-owned streaming platform HBO Max and Netflix will continue to operate separately until the deal closes. Netflix goes on to say that there are a number of steps it needs to complete before the deal closes, including regulatory and shareholder approval.

Hot on the heels of Friday's dramatic announcement, Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren called on the Justice Department to examine Netflix's buyout of Warner Bros., branding the deal "like an anti-monopoly nightmare." Netflix has said acquiring Warner Bros. would provide better value to subscribers and shareholders, but Warren insisted a Netflix-owned Warner Bros. risked job losses and higher subscription prices, and said that the Justice Department must now enforce the country's anti-monopoly laws "fairly and transparently."

Netflix’s email to subscribers does not rule out future price rises, but does promise that current membership plans will remain in place at least until the deal goes through. As for when that will be, Netflix said it expects to close the translation in 12-18 months. So, at the earliest, December 2026, but it could be as late as summer 2027.

Here’s the Netflix email in full:

We’ve recently announced that Netflix will acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max and HBO. This unites our leading entertainment service with Warner Bros.’ iconic stories, bringing some of the world’s most beloved franchises like Harry Potter, Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Casablanca, Game of Thrones and the DC Universe together with Stranger Things, Wednesday, Squid Game, Bridgerton and KPop Demon Hunters.
What’s changing?
Nothing is changing today. Both streaming services will continue to operate separately. We have more steps to complete before the deal is closed, including regulatory and shareholder approvals. You’ll hear from us when we have more to share. In the meantime, we hope you’ll continue to enjoy watching as much as you want, whenever you want – all on your current membership plan.
We know you might have questions. Check out our Help Centre for more information or contact us at any time.
Thank you for choosing Netflix. We’re committed to bringing you more great series, films, games and live programming.
The Netflix team

The Help Centre makes things more definitive. When will Warner Bros. shows become available on Netflix? “Nothing is changing with content currently on Netflix,” the FAQ states. “Netflix and Warner Bros. will remain separate until the transaction is closed.”

And, will there be any changes to my monthly subscription plan? “Nothing is changing with your current plan,” Netflix said. “Continue enjoying our variety of quality movies, TV shows, games and live programming all on your current membership plan.”

There is also a message of reassurance for questions around whether HBO Max subscribers should cancel: “Netflix and Warner Bros. will remain separate until the transaction is closed.”

Based on all this, it seems likely that Warner Bros. shows will arrive on Netflix when the deal closes, and when that happens a price rise seems inevitable.

But will the deal close? Warren warned that a Netflix-Warner Bros. “would create one massive media giant with control of close to half of the streaming market — threatening to force Americans into higher subscription prices and fewer choices over what and how they watch, while putting American workers at risk."

Warren's comments were echoed by U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, co-chair of the House Monopoly Busters Caucus, who also labelled the deal as a "nightmare."

"It would mean more price hikes, ads, and cookie cutter content, less creative control for artists, and lower pay for workers," Jayapal stated. "The media industry is already controlled by a few corporations with too much power to censor free speech. The gov't must step in."

One report has claimed Netflix is particularly keen to obtain Warner Bros.' vast content library as the streamer ramps up its potential to offer AI-generation tools and content in the future, just weeks after Disney boss Bob Iger confirmed it would imminently begin rolling out AI content and capabilities via Disney+.

Criticism of Netflix's move has also come from both sides of the aisle, as Republican Senator Mike Lee, who also leads the Senate antitrust committee, suggested earlier this week that the idea of the streaming service owning Warner Bros. "should send alarm to antitrust enforcers around the world."

In an investor call this week attended by IGN, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos struck a confident tone when asked about the deal’s chance of success. "We're highly confident in the regulatory process. This deal is pro-consumer, pro-innovation, pro-worker, it's pro-creator, it's pro-growth.”

As part of the same call, Sarandos said Netflix would continue to release Warner Bros. movies in theaters for now, though expected theatrical release windows to shorten over time to become "more user friendly."

The Boys Season 5 trailer

We're going out with a fuckin' bang. It's The Boys final season teaser trailer, folks. Get ready to climax April 8. pic.twitter.com/05lAd9VaZl

— THE BOYS (@TheBoysTV) December 7, 2025

The Boys showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke announced at CCXP Brazil that season 5 of the show starts streaming on April 8, 2026 on Prime Video. The finale will air on May 20, 2026, and will be the final episode of the show as a whole.

Luckily the trailer suggests the final season will be a banger, with Homelander doing what he does best (clue: it's not baking pies) and Butcher getting ready to do his best to end the milk-loving maniac.

Fallout Season 2 Exclusive New Clip

At CCXP we got a look at the upcoming second season of the Fallout TV show from Amazon. It shows fan favorites Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) making a pit stop in Novac on their way to New Vegas.

During the Fallout Season 2 panel Goggins revealed that this season was much more difficult to shoot than the first because of the larger story is bigger, likening it to cinema and the process of making a movie.

Paradise Season 2 Gets a Release Date and Teaser Trailer

It was never just about the bunker. PARADISE returns February 23 on @hulu and with #HuluOnDisneyPlus. #ParadiseHulu pic.twitter.com/N54x46uSvM

— Paradise (@paradiseonhulu) December 6, 2025

The new season of the Hulu show Paradise got a release date announcement and a teaser trailer at CCXP 2025. Returning on February 23 for Season 2, Paradise stars Sterling K. Brown as secret service agent Xavier Collins, and fans will remember that the debut season came with plenty of twists, so if you're new to the show, beware spoilers.

Intrigued? Read our review of the original season of Paradise, where our writer Chase Hutchinson said "Paradise Season 1 is ridiculous, fun, yet still plenty flawed TV that proves once more that Sterling K. Brown is one of our most compelling actors."

Marty Supreme Panel

On a panel for Marty Surpreme star Timothée Chalamet revealed that fellow actors like Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio inspired his career in movies.

"You get inspired by these people when you're young and sometimes the world puts you down and doesn't encourage you to dream. And this movie is exclusively about that. It's about following your dreams. Even driving here through Sao Paulo, always taking a moment to be grateful for the opportunities I had in my life. Going to the Performing Arts High School in New York, being surrounded by artists to be able to pursue my dreams, because you need people in your corner that support you."

Marty Supreme will be released in theaters on Christmas Day.

Wonder Man

New footage from Marvel's upcoming Wonder Man TV show was revealed during the Disney+ Panel at CCXP, featuring main character Simon Williams (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) auditioning for a role, before smashing up some furniture in a moment of frustration. In the comics, Wonder Man was a superhero with super strength and invincibility, who also wanted to be an actor.

Previously we've seen footage showing Williams signing documents to attest that he doesn't have super powers ahead of an audition, so it's an awkward time to get all super strength. The series debuts on January 27.

Learn more about Marvel's Wonder Man here.

Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will debut on March 4, 2026, and CCXP gave us a quick idea of what to expect, including a look at Matthew Lillard as one of the new antagonists, Mr. Charles. In the comics, Mr. Charles was Charles Burroughs, a dangerous psychopath, and damn Lillard always gives good crazy. We also got to see the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Matt Murdock having what looked like a seizure, and Wilson Fisk doing a bit of boxing.

Percy Jackson Is Headed to Fortnite

6 décembre 2025 à 21:30

Percy Jackson is coming to Fortnite. The popular series, based on the novels by Rick Riordan and now streaming on Disney+, was just announced to be getting its very own Fortnite Island on December 9.

Revealed on stage at CCXP25 in Brazil, Percy Jackson: Siege of Monsters will allow players to “embark on an authentic Percy Jackson adventure across an island map inspired by Camp Half-Blood – the earthly sanctuary and training facility for the children of mortals and Greek gods. As newly arrived demigods, players must discover the identity of their godly parent, gain new divine powers, and ally with their fellow demigods for a climactic battle against Scylla and Charybdis on the Sea of Monsters.”

Players will be able to meet various characters from the popular stories, rendered in the likenesses of the actors from the streaming series, including Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood, and “complete multiple side quests” and other activities “inspired by the first two seasons of the show.”

I recently spoke with the stars and producers of the show about bringing some fan-favorite storylines to Fortnite. Walker Scobell, who plays Percy on the series, and co-star Aryan Simhadri (Grover) had been begging producers to get their characters into Fortnite “since day one.”

“I'm just excited to be the guy from Fortnite,” says Scobell. “That's what I want people to call me. If that's the only thing I'm ever remembered for, I'm fine with that. Percy Jackson? No, he's the guy from Fortnite.”

Series Executive Producer and Co-showrunner Dan Shotz, who presented a sneak peak of the Fortnite island at CCXP, says bringing Percy Jackson to the game involved a lot of moving pieces. “We have worked directly with Disney to build an entire world within Fortnite,” Shotz says. “You're going to get to see incredible monsters. You get to fight the Minotaur, you get to have a boss battle with Scylla and Charybdis, and you also just get to hang out with the gang from Percy Jackson. It's pretty epic.”

Dior Goodjohn, who plays Clarisse on the show, agrees: “It's really, really sick. You kind of know the magnitude of what you're doing when they put you in a video game or when you get a doll made of you. This is insane that this is real life for all of us right now. It's crazy.”

Percy Jackson Creator Rick Riordan says it was important to adapt his stories for a younger, modern audience. “I cannot tell you how many years the fans have been asking me, ‘When are we going to get a Percy Jackson immersive game?’” Riordan says. “I (played) my share of World of Warcraft when I was younger, (so) I get it. I totally get it.”

Leah Sava Jeffries, who portrays Annabeth, says she used to play Fortnite but intends to jump back in now that she and her co-stars are featured in the game. “This is making me want to go back and play it again,” Jeffries says. “I have been waiting for this for so long, and now I really feel like this is our moment.”

Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians hits Disney+ December 10.

Paradise Season 2 Gets a Release Date and Teaser Trailer

6 décembre 2025 à 21:03

The second season of the Hulu streaming series Paradise got a release date announcement and a teaser trailer today at the CCXP convention in São Paulo, Brazil. Returning on February 23 for Season 2, Paradise stars Sterling K. Brown as secret service agent Xavier Collins as he unravels the mystery of the president of the United States' murder. And that's just the start of things for this show, which pulls more than a couple of rugs out from under its audience -- and characters -- throughout its first season.

Check out the teaser trailer for Season 2 right here:

It was never just about the bunker. PARADISE returns February 23 on @hulu and with #HuluOnDisneyPlus. #ParadiseHulu pic.twitter.com/N54x46uSvM

— Paradise (@paradiseonhulu) December 6, 2025

Brown was on hand for the CCXP panel, along with series creator and executive producer Dan Fogelman and co-star Shailene Woodley, who joins Paradise for the new season. Here's the official synopsis of Season 2 from Hulu: "Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city's origins."

Brown had the following to say to the CCXP crowd about the new season: "So three years, being in this isolated thing from the rest of the world, thinking that the rest of the world has been destroyed, that nobody else existed. Then I finally go out into the world and I see that people, they have survived. ... But you do see the resourcefulness of humanity finding a way to survive when it doesn't seem like there is a way to survive, and people coming together and sharing their resource. ... There is a part of me that has to trust and believe in the goodness of people. Right? To survive something you can only get through it together. If everybody's scared at everybody all the time, then it's just war. At some point in time you'll have to come together and fight as a team."

When Does Paradise Season 2 Debut?

The second season of Paradise debuts on Monday, February 23, with three episodes. Thereafter, new episodes of Paradise will drop weekly.

Check out our review of Season 1 of Paradise, where our writer Chase Hutchinson said "Paradise Season 1 is ridiculous, fun, yet still plenty flawed TV that proves once more that Sterling K. Brown is one of our most compelling actors."

Save $50 Off This Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle

The best deal of the weekend is the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, which is on sale for $449. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws is on sale this weekend for $29.99, which is a steal for one of the hybrid system's best third-party games. This version of Star Wars Outlaws is the Gold Edition, packing in all the DLC and updates that released.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach for $49.99

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is still my favorite game of 2025, featuring a vast world to explore, rich characters and narrative, and an astounding score. Ahead of Black Friday, you can score DS2 for $49.99 and embark across Mexico and Australia yourself. If you've been holding out on this game, today is a great time to pick up a copy and experience the latest from Hideo Kojima.

Target has the exclusive Ghost of Yotei Limited Edition DualSense on sale for $64.99 this weekend. Astro Bot for $39.99

Astro Bot is a must-own game for any PlayStation 5 owner for many reasons. The fun platforming adventure is a trip across PlayStation's iconic history of games, with cameos from many of the beloved characters that shaped each console generation. Today, you can score Astro Bot for $39.99 at Amazon,

Silent Hill 2 for $29.99

Silent Hill 2 is available for $29.99 at Amazon as part of Black Friday sales. The Bloober Team-developed remake brought new life to the iconic Konami game, depicting the story of James Sunderland as he travels to Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his dead wife. With revamped combat, a rerecorded soundtrack, and new story additions, Silent Hill 2 is a fantastic horror game that is worth experiencing.

New Marvel Footage Shows Off Matthew Lillard's Daredevil: Born Again Villain, Krysten Ritter's Return to the MCU, and Wonder Man's Powers

6 décembre 2025 à 20:22

The 2025 edition of CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil, is happening at this very moment, and has already seen some major reveals, featuring Fallout, Supergirl, Marty Supreme, Percy Jackson Season 2, Paradise Season 2, and of course some Marvel goodies as well, specifically some in-the-room-only footage from both the upcoming Wonder Man and Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

Here's what we saw:

Wonder Man's Powers

Wonder Man stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the title character, aka Simon Williams, who is an actor in Hollywood who just happens to also have superpowers. Ben Kingsley returns to the MCU as that universe's other most notable actor, Trevor Slattery, for what looks to be a comedic look at the world of superhero filmmaking -- and maybe superhero fatigue as well.

At one point in the sneak peek, we see Williams get frustrated and smash a table, revealing his powers which have largely been held back in the marketing of this series so far (and in the character's life apparently as well, since we know from the trailers that he has to sign an agreement in one scene that says he doesn't have powers before he can audition for the role). This moment of table-destruction was previously glimpsed in a Disney+ trailer for their various upcoming series, but any real look at Williams' abilities remains elusive with the series' debut coming on January 27.

Learn more about Marvel's Wonder Man here.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Footage

On the Daredevil: Born Again front, the exclusive CCXP footage showed off several noteworthy bits and pieces, including the return of Krysten Ritter to the MCU as Jessica Jones, Matt Murdock's former fellow Defender (though you can't blame them if they don't talk much about that), Charlie Cox's Matt having what looks like a seizure, Wilson Bethel's Dex/Bullseye possibly drinking a milkshake ("I drink your milkshake!"), Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk boxing a guy, lots of fighting (of course), and... our first look at Matthew Lillard as a new antagonist for the Man Without Fear named Mr. Charles.

According to Entertainment Weekly, via The Direct, Marvel’s Head of TV and Animation Brad Winderbaum had this to say about the character: "He plays a character named Mr. Charles. The story is about power. When Wilson Fisk takes over New York, not just as a mayor but as a king in a way, it puts him in a new class of power players on the international stage. Matthew Lillard's character represents that."

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will debut on March 4, 2026, and a third season is also in the works.

Dig in below on the previous season of the show with our spoiler chat with Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead:

Bethesda Boss Todd Howard Won't Rule Out an Elder Scrolls TV Show, but Says Fallout Was 'More Uniquely Suited' for an Adaptation

6 décembre 2025 à 11:11

After the huge success of the Amazon Fallout TV show, some have wondered whether The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda’s fantasy video game franchise, might be next in line for an adaptation. But what does Bethesda boss Todd Howard think?

In an interview with Eurogamer ahead of the launch of Fallout Season 2, Howard refused to rule out the possibility of an Elder Scrolls TV show, but did suggest the post-apocalyptic sci-fi franchise Fallout was better suited to an adaptation.

"I will say this, the Fallout journey was like a 10 year one," Howard replied to the suggestion of an Elder Scrolls adaptation. "After Fallout 3, people were asking to do a movie or show for Fallout, and we really took our time."

Howard "can't rule in or rule out an Elder Scrolls thing in the future," Eurogamer said, but he also believes the Fallout franchise was "more uniquely suited" and had "more to say in its genre.”

Howard continued: "But, you never know. I think the impact of the show on Fallout as a franchise has been bigger than I expected, so it does make you think like, 'Hey, is there a path?' But, nothing today... [and] I'm willing to say 'no' for a decade."

The Fallout series is wide-ranging in tone and content. Indeed, Season 2 star Macaulay Culkin touched on this in a recent interview with IGN, explaining why he’s so big into the Fallout lore.

“You could have zombies in it, you have deathclaws, you have monsters and things like that,” he said. “I mean, gosh, you have aliens. You name it, you can throw it at the wall. Even Fallout 76, I mean, the Mothman is now fair game. It is that kind of stuff. There's no really shape to it. You can kind of stick any kind of shape piece into that hole.”

And in any case, there’s no sign of Fallout slowing down when it comes to the TV series. Season 3 is already confirmed, and its stars have indicated they’d be willing to continue playing their characters for many more series beyond that. In May, Aaron Moten, who plays Brotherhood of Steel hopeful Maximus, said the Fallout series’ “endpoint” runs until Season 5 or Season 6.

“When I signed on to do the series, we would have a starting point and they gave me the endpoint,” Moten said. “And that endpoint hasn’t changed. But it is Season 5, 6 type of endpoint.

“We’ve always known that we were gonna take our time with the development of the characters.”

Perhaps when that is done and dusted, Bethesda might turn its attention to an Elder Scrolls adaptation. Will The Elder Scrolls 6 be out by then? One can only hope.

All 3 The Lord of the Rings Movies Are Returning to Theaters in Extended Edition Form, So Prepare Yourself for Hours — and Hours — of Middle-earth Fun All Over Again

6 décembre 2025 à 10:34

The Lord of the Rings movies are coming back to theaters next year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring — but be prepared to strap yourself in for the long haul, as they’re all the Extended Editions.

Fathom Entertainment will release all three Extended Editions from Peter Jackson’s trilogy in DBOX presentation from January 16-18, then in standard formats from January 23-25, in theaters nationwide as part of a two-weekend event.

Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings movies are long enough in standard form, but the Extended Editions are epics. The Return of the King Extended Edition, for example, is nearly four-and-a-half hours long including credits.

Perhaps wisely, Fathom is staggering the release of the movies across each weekend period, so you can’t watch all three Extended Editions back-to-back. That might be for the best, since doing so would take you nearly 12 hours!

The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition runtimes:

  • The Fellowship of the Ring: 3 hours and 48 minutes (228 minutes)
  • The Two Towers: 3 hours and 55 minutes (235 minutes)
  • The Return of the King: 4 hours and 23 minutes (263 minutes)

There’s merch, too, to go along with this re-release. AMC theaters will have a popcorn bucket with a map of Middle-earth, and Regal will have a popcorn bucket with a One Ring design, Variety reported.

Of course, Warner Bros., which is in the process of being acquired by Netflix, is gearing up to release a brand new The Lord of the Rings movie in 2027. The Hunt for Gollum is set to chronicle a period between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings where numerous characters are searching for the all-important Ring, previously known to be in Gollum's possession.

Gandalf is known to be searching for clues as to Gollum's whereabouts, and even enlists the help of Fellowship member Aragorn. Both are attempting to beat the agents of Sauron to discovering the Ring's location — something glimpsed briefly in The Fellowship of the Ring, where the words "Baggins" and "Shire" are extracted from Gollum via torture in Mordor.

It has now been more than 20 years since audiences first saw the much-loved Fellowship characters sail off from the Grey Havens at the end of Return of the King. With Hunt for Gollum set several years prior to this, it remains to be seen whether some form of digital de-aging will be used as older actors reprise their roles. Indeed, Legolas actor Orlando Bloom has previously expressed interest in also returning, though suggested "AI would have to come into play."

To date, only Gollum actor Andy Serkis, who is directing The Hunt for Gollum, himself has confirmed he will appear in the film, though Aragorn actor Viggo Mortensen has said he is also open to returning, and it very much sounds like Elijah Wood will reprise his role as Frodo. The Hunt for Gollum is due to begin filming in New Zealand next year, ahead of its release on December 17, 2027.

This Lord of the Rings Chess Set Is the Gift You Didn't Know You Needed

6 décembre 2025 à 02:30

I've always loved The Lord of the Rings. I wouldn't necessarily say I'm fanatical about it, though. I already own copies of the books and the movies, so I'm not usually swayed by the endless barrage of Lord of the Rings gifts the internet seems to throw my way. I do really like the look of this Battle for Middle-Earth Chess set, however. I've seen a lot of really cool chess sets in my day, but this one appears to be surprisingly well done for how affordable it is. I don't even play that much chess and I've found myself adding it to my Christmas wishlist this year.

The Lord of The Rings Chess Set: Battle for Middle-Earth

This chess set is made by The Noble Collection, which I do actually have some experience with already. They create all kinds of gifts for various popular fandoms like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. You might be most familiar with its collection of Harry Potter wands, which the company first began releasing back in 2004. The Noble Collection is generally known for making high quality products at affordable prices, including a variety of chess sets like this one. There's even a high-end $500 version of this same thing that is absolutely glorious, though that is way out of my price range.

More Lord of the Rings Gifts

If you're on the hunt for more Lord of the Rings gifts like this one, we have found quite a few. There's the deluxe illustrated version of the books, Lord of the Rings puzzles, board games, and even a LEGO book nook available.

Timothée Chalamet Names Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio Among the 'Greats' Who Inspired Him to Act

6 décembre 2025 à 02:00

Timothée Chalamet and writer-director Josh Safdie took the stage at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil, today to hype up fans for Marty Supreme (review), the duo's upcoming, highly buzzed-about film.

During the panel, which saw the actor donning a Brazilian flag with his face on it at one point -- plus an array of ping-pong-headed men accompanying him, Chalamet was asked what moves him to aspire to greatness in his career.

"The people that inspired me to become an actor in the first place," responded the Dune star. "The greats before me, the Denzel Washingtons, the Leonardo DiCaprios, the people that laid a path that you aspire to as a young man, as a young artist. You get inspired by these people when you're young and sometimes the world puts you down and doesn't encourage you to dream.

"Equally, Marty Supreme is about an underdog, it's about believing your dreams when no one has your back, when no one believes in you, when the people you think love you the most, that claim to be in love with you, don't have your back. And then he's somehow persevering through it to be the greatest table tennis player of all time."

In his review of Marty Supreme, IGN's Michael Calabro said it was "equal parts fun and stressful" and that "Marty Supreme combines the chaotic directing style of Josh Safdie with the charisma of Timothée Chalamet to make a one-of-a-kind ping pong movie that is, without a doubt, one of the year’s best films.

Marty Supreme hits theaters on Christmas Day.

The Lenovo LOQ RTX 5060 Ti Gaming PC Drops to $950

6 décembre 2025 à 01:10

If you missed out on the budget gaming PC deals during Black Friday, here's yet another opportunity before the year's end. Lenovo has discounted its Lenovo LOQ AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX RTX 5060 Ti gaming PC down to just $949.99 with free delivery after applying coupon code "EXTRAFIVE". This is one of the lowest prices I've seen on an RTX 5060 Ti equipped gaming PC, from Lenovo or otherwise. The LOQ is Lenovo's budget line of gaming PCs. Despite the fact that it's less expensive than Lenovo's Legion lineup, the LOQ offers current-gen components (including Nvidia RTX 50 series GPUs) packed in an understated, compact chassis with proper airflow.

Lenovo LOQ RTX 5060 Ti Gaming PC for $950

The Lenovo LOQ gaming PC is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX GPU GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX is an 8-core, 16-thread processor with a max boost clock of 5.1GHz. It's a solid general-purpose CPU that complements the RTX 5060 Ti GPU well, especially since it's paired with a generous 32GB of RAM. The system is powered by a 500W power supply.

The RTX 5060 Ti is an excellent GPU for 1080p gaming. It outperforms the RTX 4060 Ti by about 20%, but the gap widens in games that support DLSS 4 technology with multi-frame generation. It's also obviously better than the RTX 5060. Keep in mind that this PC is equipped with the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB variant, not the 16GB. If you decide to play more demanding games at 1440p or higher, you'll encounter more instances where you'll run out of VRAM. For 1080p, however, you're fine.

New Fallout Season 2 Clip Reveals Novac and Dinky the T-Rex... and The Ghoul in Some Real Trouble

6 décembre 2025 à 00:52

Prime Video brought the cast of Fallout to CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil, today to, ahem, prime fans for Season 2 of the hit show, which will be arriving in less than two weeks. On hand were Ella Purnell (Lucy MacLean), Aaron Moten (Maximus), Walton Goggins (The Ghoul), and Justin Theroux (Robert Edwin House), who joins the show for the new season as the villain fans will remember from New Vegas.

During the panel, a scene from the new season was revealed, and you can watch a shorter version of it right here. (You'd have to fly to Brazil for the extra 30 seconds or so.) Featuring the video game location of Novac and Dinky the T-Rex, the scene would seem to be just a taste of the many game references the new season will be including as the story delves into the New Vegas of it all...

Watch the first clip from Fallout: Season 2 below.

Obviously Lucy and The Ghoul are still working together, though neither one seems particularly pleased about it. But, man, if The Ghoul doesn't need a hand at the moment...

"I think so much of Lucy and The Ghoul is revealed over the course of this apocalyptic road trip they take," Goggins told the crowd. "Ella was saying that either she'll become more like me or I'll become more like her. And it really is through this rhythm that you see The Ghoul change, and Lucy change! But for me, [The Ghoul's human persona] Cooper Howard, you got to know him a bit in Season 1, but Season 2 is a deep dive and deep exploration picking up where we left off in Season 1 about how much, how little he knows about the world that he thought he knew. And so much of The Ghoul is informed by Cooper Howard's experience in the past, and it's the way in which these writers architected it. The way in which the directors chose to tell the story visually, it's very powerful and very cinematic. And I'll be the third person [here] to say, I can't wait for you guys to see it!"

Fallout Season 2 debuts on December 17 on Prime Video, with a new episode dropping each week until the season finale on February 4.

For more Fallout coverage, discover what the executive producers told us about how they took a "fog of war" approach to avoid many any Fallout: New Vegas ending canon in Season 2.

The Secretlab Christmas Sale Is Now Live, Gift Someone the Ultimate Gaming Chair

6 décembre 2025 à 00:10

The Secretlab Christmas Sale has officially commenced starting today. Save up to $100 off Secretlab's popular gaming chairs including its flagship Titan Evo Nanogen chair, up to $249 off its gaming desks, and up to 37% off accessories like the Titan Evo recliner add-on. In addition to the instant discounts, you can get extra tiered savings by hitting a certain order amount for each type of purchase. These should be stackable with the instant discounts.

  • Extra $40 off Chair orders of $850 or more
  • Extra $50 off Desk orders of $1,489 or more
  • $100 off all orders of $1,999 or more

It's no secret that we love our Secretlab gaming chairs. Three of the eight chairs in our best gaming chair roundup are Secretlab models. Of all the gaming chairs we covered in our "Budget to Best" roundup video earlier this year, my colleague Akeem Lawanson considered the Secretlab Titan Evo to be the most comfortable. No good chair comes cheap and Secretlab chairs definitely cost a premium, but we think the craftsmanship, materials, and customizability are worth it.

TL;DR - The Best Secretlab Christmas Deals

You can quickly browse through all of the listed products on sale above. For more information on each product and why they are worth your consideration, read through below.

Secretlab Titan Evo Nanogen Edition

The Titan Evo Nanogen Edition is on sale for the first time ever. It normally sells for $799 at Secretlab direct, but there's a $50 off discount during the Christmas Sale. If your budget can accomodate it, this is the best gaming chair. In our recent Titan Evo Nanogen Edition review, Chris Coke wrote that "the Secretlab Titan Evo Nanogen Edition deserves every bit of the overwhelming praise I’ve given. Granted, at $799 it’s significantly more expensive than the original and not far off from an entry-level Herman-Miller. But the return it offers in comfortable, supportive gaming is well worth the extra cost thanks to dramatically improved materials in both the fabric and multi-layered padding. The Titan Evo Nanogen Edition is class-leading, and is hands-down the most comfortable gaming chair I’ve ever used."

Secretlab Titan Evo

The Titan Evo starts at $499 during the sale. This is Secretlab's flagship chair and it's available in small, medium, and large sizes. Upholstery options include Neo Hybrid leatherette, SoftWeave Plus fabric, or premium Napa leather. The chair features cold-cure foam upholstery for the seat, a supportive four-way lumbar system, full length backrest with 165 degrees of recline, full metal 4D armrests with magnetically attached PU cushions, and a memory foam headrest pillow.

Aside from the build quality, the Titan Evo also stands out thanks to the sheer number of officially licensed designs from popular video games, TV shows, and more. Some of the more popular examples include Star Wars, The Witcher, Overwatch, Attack on Titan, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, and Game of Thrones. They generally cost more than the standard colors, but they're worth it if you're looking for that extra personal touch.

In our Secretlab Titan Evo review, Chris Coke wrote that "after two years of daily use, the Secretlab Titan Evo has proven that it can stand the test of time and still be one of the best gaming chairs you can buy. Meaningful ergonomics paired with Secretlab’s wide selection of designs, it remains a fantastic option, especially for fans of bright colors or designs."

Secretlab Titan Evo Lite

The Titan Evo Lite gaming chair is an excellent value with its starting price tag of $419, which is $80 less than the base model Titan Evo. It's built upon the same frame as the Titan Evo and has the same core features like the cold-cure foam cushioning, lumbar, 165 degrees of recline, and 4D armrests. What it compromises on is customization, with "only" two upholstery options, two sizes, and five colors, a non-adjustable lumbar system, simpler arm rests, and no included head rest. If none of these tradeoffs bother you, then you'll be saving quite a bit of money.

Secretlab Titan Recliner Add-On

Also on sale for the first time, Secretlab's new recliner add-on is $30 off for Christmas. This is a nice upgrade for anyone who already owns the Titan Evo chair. In our recliner add-on review, Chris Coke wrote that "while both comfort and value are subjective things, the recliner is able to take the Titan Evo and transform it from one of the best racing style gaming chairs to standing head and shoulders above the competition at its price point. It’s novel enough that I wouldn’t be surprised to see other brands following suit in the near future. If you don’t mind paying for it, it’s an absolutely killer upgrade for your gaming chair."

Secretlab Magnus and Magnus Pro

Not only are the Magnus and Magnus Pro discounted for the holidays, you also get the desk mat topper (your choice of style) free of charge. The Magnus is a traditional fixed-frame gaming desk while the Magnus Pro ups the ante with a custom designed electric standing desk frame for an additional $250. Both desks feature an all-metal desktop surface, solid steel legs and cleverly thought out areas for cable management, but the Magnus Pro has some really unique features including a power cable that runs internally inside one of the telescoping legs and an in-line control panel.

In our Secretlab Magnus Pro review. Mark Knapp writes that "the Secretlab Magnus Pro is a fantastic desk, bringing the brilliant cable management solutions of the original Magnus to a fast, quiet, and wide-ranging motorized standing desk. The desk is built well and proves an excellent platform for work and play alike. It’s an expensive desk though, and for the money, it would have been nice to see a smarter safety mechanism for the motors and the desk mat included. Still, the overall quality you get is a big step up from cheaper standing desks, and the optional accessories truly enhance the experience. Anyone who’s not committed to a standing desk should save their money and go for the standard Magnus if everything else about this model sounds good, but for gamers who love a tidy desk and want the flexibility of a standing desk, the Magnus Pro should be the first they consider."

Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.3.0 Patch Notes Detail Audio Improvements and Map Changes Coming With Season 1: Winter Offensive

5 décembre 2025 à 23:42

Battlefield Studios has published the Battlefield 6 update 1.1.3.0 patch notes ahead of next week’s Winter Offensive update, revealing a detailed list of audio improvements, soldier visibility tweaks, a range of map adjustments, and more.

Patch notes for the third major Season 1 update were published in a post on the EA shooter series’ website today. The full breakdown follows up on promises made by BF Studios’ outline from earlier this week and touches on every notable change coming to Battlefield 6 and REDSEC when Winter Offensive reaches its December 9 release date.

Though today’s patch notes cover everything from audio to Sector sizes, players may be happy to see the studio continuing to adjust an issue that has wormed its way to the front of online discussion since launch: hit registration. BF Studios says the 1.1.3.0 changes should result in more predictable bullet impact and easier-to-read damage feedback thanks to tweaks to quick aim, pre-zoom firing, and close-quarters gunfights.

Other elements the Battlefield 6 developers took aim at with the Winter Offensive update include better weapon handling, improved character highlights and animations for visibility, gadget reliability, and refined gameplay for vehicle-savvy players. Launch players will also notice relatively extensive changes to Sectors and vehicles across seven Breakthrough maps: Manhattan Bridge, Mirak Valley, New Sobek City, Operation Firestorm, Liberation Peak, Siege of Cairo, and Empire State.

It may be some time before players get a handle on whether many of these changes correct the balance of the average Battlefield 6 multiplayer match. Those audio tweaks, however, will likely be noticeable from the get-go, with the hope being that infantry noise is clearer and easier to read at different distances.

“We’ve also continued addressing performance and memory issues that could cause sounds, such as footsteps or vehicle audio, to drop out or fail to play, especially during large-scale Battle Royale matches,” BF Studios says in the update 1.1.3.0 patch notes. “To get ahead of this as we add more audio content to the game, we’ve adjusted the memory priorities for most sounds in the game and optimized how some larger audio assets load. In practical terms, this means that important combat, movement, and vehicle sounds should play more consistently even under heavy load.

“These changes are part of an ongoing effort to improve the overall stability of the soundscape. While this isn’t a complete overhaul, and there may still be edge cases depending on hardware and match conditions, it's a big step toward more reliable and predictable sound across the game.”

Each change arrives in addition to new weapons, limited-time winter events, and more new content that players have been told to expect since launch. Highlights include the Ice Lock Empire State map, the Ice Lock multiplayer and Gauntlet modes, the Ice Climbing Axe melee weapon, Portal updates, and a mini–Winter Offensive-themed battle pass bonus path. It’s the latest in the run of Battlefield 6 Season 1 chapter updates, which saw Rogue Ops bring Blackwell Fields and battle royale to the experience October 28, while California Resistance added Eastwood November 18.

Plans for Season 2 remain under wraps for now. In the meantime, you can read up on another recent change that saw BF Studios unveil another round of challenge and progression tweaks. You can also learn about why some players both loved and hated the new The 323 cosmetic pack.

Finally, you can check out the full Winter Offensive patch notes below.

Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.3.0 Patch Notes

Update 1.1.3.0 delivers a broad range of fixes and refinements across Battlefield 6, improving soldier clarity, weapon reliability, vehicle behaviour, audio consistency, and overall gameplay flow. This update also includes several quality-of-life improvements across UI, HUD, and controller aiming options, along with map-specific updates designed to stabilise objective play and reduce round-end matchmaking frustration.

We also made improvements to reduce cases where player settings could be reset when updating the game to the newest version. While this behaviour should now occur less frequently, we are still seeing isolated instances and expect to fully resolve the issue in an upcoming update.

As always, thank you for continuing to share your feedback which helps us refine and evolve the Battlefield 6 experience.

New Content: Winter Offensive

  • New Time-Limited Map: Ice Lock Empire State. A winter-shrouded version of Empire State featuring frozen streets and seasonal environmental visuals.

Major Updates for 1.1.3.0

  • Improved hit registration across situations that previously felt unreliable, including quick aim adjustments, firing before a zoom completes, and close-quarters fights with many players. These updates make bullet impacts more predictable and damage feedback easier to read in the moment.
  • Enhanced close-range soldier visibility, with stronger character highlights and improved prone animations to help soldiers stand out more clearly in low-contrast or visually busy areas.
  • Refined weapon handling for more consistent accuracy, addressing issues with first-shot behaviour, recoil interaction, and attachment alignment so weapons feel more stable and predictable during firefights.
  • Improved reliability across several core gadgets, including updates to the LWCMS Portable Mortar, Supply Pouch, Smoke Cover, and traversal tools to ensure they behave consistently and provide clearer feedback.
  • Strengthened vehicle clarity and interaction, fixing issues around damage zones, HUD overlaps, seat reticules, and camera behaviour to make vehicle play more stable for both drivers and passengers.
  • Updated Breakthrough and Rush layouts on multiple maps to improve attacker–defender balance, smooth out sector flow, and adjust vehicle distribution based on match outcome data and player feedback.
  • Delivered a broad audio pass improving combat readability, including clearer footsteps and movement cues, more reliable armour-break feedback, and tuning across several high-priority gameplay sounds.

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENTS

AUDIO

With this update, we’ve made a wide range of audio improvements, including a dedicated tuning pass on footsteps to make movement clearer, easier to locate, and more readable at different distances.

We’ve also continued addressing performance and memory issues that could cause sounds, such as footsteps or vehicle audio, to drop out or fail to play, especially during large-scale Battle Royale matches. To get ahead of this as we add more audio content to the game, we’ve adjusted the memory priorities for most sounds in the game and optimized how some larger audio assets load. In practical terms, this means that important combat, movement, and vehicle sounds should play more consistently even under heavy load.

These changes are part of an ongoing effort to improve the overall stability of the soundscape. While this isn’t a complete overhaul, and there may still be edge cases depending on hardware and match conditions, it's a big step toward more reliable and predictable sound across the game.

5 décembre 2025 à 23:29

Direct from the showroom floor of CCXP 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil, we've got a close-up look at Supergirl's costume from the 2026 DC movie. Also along for the ride is the Girl of Steel's dog Krypto, or a statue of him at least.

Warner Bros. and DC's activation dominates the São Paulo Expo where CCXP is held, as it's situated right next to the Omelete Stage, which is a location where the stars and creators who are visiting the convention brave the showfloor amid a sea of fans.

Check out some images of Supergirl and Krypto below (click through the slideshow for all the shots):

Supergirl stars Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) as Kara Zor-El, returning after her brief appearance in last summer's Superman. Star Wars Returns to Theaters in February of 2027 in Its Original 1977 Theatrical Release Form

5 décembre 2025 à 23:15

Earlier this year, Disney announced it would bring the original Star Wars film, later dubbed Episode IV: A New Hope, back to theaters for the film's 50th anniversary in 2027. But it looks like we'll be seeing it a little earlier than we originally thought, on February 19, 2027.

This comes from an official announcement on the Star Wars website, which also revealed another piece of pretty big news. The version of A New Hope that will show in theaters in 2027 will be a "newly restored" version of the original 1977 theatrical release. This is likely the same version that was shown earlier this year in London at the Film on Film Festival.

The original version of the film features a number of differences from the Special Edition, which at the behest of George Lucas has replaced the original in just about every possible medium for watching it since 1981. The differences are the origin of the "Han shot first" controversy, which is probably the most-discussed aspect of the differences, but there are a number of other changes of varying levels of subtlety throughout.

Lucas has been firm over the years that the Special Edition is his true vision for the film, speaking to the Associated Press in 2004 about his feelings:

The Special Edition, that’s the one I wanted out there. The other movie, it’s on VHS, if anybody wants it. I’m not going to spend the — we’re talking millions of dollars here — the money and the time to refurbish that, because to me, it doesn’t really exist anymore. It’s like this is the movie I wanted it to be, and I’m sorry you saw a half-completed film and fell in love with it. But I want it to be the way I want it to be. I’m the one who has to take responsibility for it. I’m the one who has to have everybody throw rocks at me all the time, so at least if they’re going to throw rocks at me, they’re going to throw rocks at me for something I love rather than something I think is not very good, or at least something I think is not finished.

It's unclear if this 2027 showing and the London festival showing are indicators of Lucas relaxing his stance a bit, or if everyone has just sufficiently bullied him into letting it exist alongside the Special Edition. Probably Disney's ownership of Lucasfilm has something to do with it. Or, as he told People Magazine in October of this year, perhaps he's simply managed to let go. “Of course I’ve moved past it," he said. "I mean, I’ve got a life."

We also don't know how long Star Wars will stay in theaters. The original announcement suggested it would debut on April 30, 2027, with the intent of it showing at least through May the 4th, or Star Wars Day. It's possible they'll keep it in theaters long enough to still celebrate May the 4th, or perhaps Disney has other, even splashier plans for the big 50th. We only have to wait just over a whole year to find out.

The $22 Fantik S1 Ace Precision Electric Screwdriver Set Makes a Perfect Gift for Your DIY Tinkerer

5 décembre 2025 à 23:10

Walmart is offering a great deal on a wonderful gift idea for anyone who is constantly fiddling with small electronics, building PCs, or modding consoles and controllers. Right now you can get the Fantik S1 Ace 3.7V Precision Cordless Screwdriver for just $21.99. Walmart states the list price is $100, but I've generally seen it closer to $50. Nevertheless, this is still a great deal on a versatile product.

Fantik S1 Ace Precision Screwdriver Set for $21.99

The Fantik S1 Ace screwdriver is a handy tool for situations where your large real power drill might be way too powerful and a manual screwdriver would be too tedious. The screwdriver itself is compact but delivers a good amount of power, up to 6nM. That's more than most other precision screwdrivers you'll find on Amazon for about the same price, which usually top out at under 1-2nM. The Fantik S1 Ace has three torque settings in case you don't need the extra power and a handy LED light. It charges via USB Type-C so there's no need to swap out batteries or anything.

The set includes ten S2 steel magnetic bits which are comprised of the most common Philips, flat, and hex heads. They're housed in a compact EVA storage case. If you need more bits, the Fantik S1 Ace uses a standard 1/4" hex shank.

For just $22, this is a nice-to-have tool in a nearby drawer for convenience, when you don't want or need to deal with the hassle of bringing out a full-sized power tool for a small odd job. I have one and use it all the time on my PC builds.

THR reports that Avengers: Endgame is set for a September 25 premiere, specifically, though it’s unclear how long it will stick around in theaters. There’s currently no explanation as to why Marvel seems to have opted out of bringing back the story’s first half, Infinity War, to tie a bow with the full package.

However, we can probably guess why the comic book company is looking to bring back its massively successful superhero team-up film in 2026. Across its April 2019 premiere and June 2019 theatrical victory lap, Avengers: Endgame managed to rack up a box office total of a whopping $2.8 billion (via Box Office Mojo). It’s a number that saw the MCU Phase Three event film earning a record-shattering opening weekend and eventually following James Cameron’s Avatar ($2.92 billion) as the second-highest-grossing film of all time.

Avengers: Endgame proved to be quite the moment for the movie world, as theatergoers lined up to see how Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and other Marvel mainstays would finally take down Thanos. Now, Marvel seems to be looking to give those numbers another boost as it barrels toward its first superhero team-up flick in six years with Avengers: Doomsday.

The film, which features MCU veterans Joe and Anthony Russo back as directors, is set for a December 18, 2026, release date. The Marvel calendar has the movie set to follow Tom Holland’s long-awaited return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day come July 31, 2026. It’s a plan that has the Avengers: Endgame re-release hitting theaters perfectly between the two new entries, giving die-hard fans the chance to keep the hype going between releases.

Riddle Me This: What Happens to DC After the Netflix Buyout? Hopefully Nothing

5 décembre 2025 à 20:20

The weird, sprawling saga of Warner Bros. Discovery just dropped another major plot twist, as Netflix has seemingly emerged victorious in the bidding war over the company. This means that Netflix, already one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world, will now control the film and TV rights to franchises like Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and, of course, DC. Batman is now a Netflix character (provided the acquisition is approved by federal regulators, that is).

This new deal raises many, many questions about the future of Warner Bros. as a studio and what this means for theatrical distribution, many of which will only be answered in the months and years to come. But for many superhero fans, the biggest question is what this all means for DC Entertainment, a company that has already experienced more than its fair share of turmoil in recent years. Let’s explore why the best-case scenario for DC right now is simply business as usual.

A Decade of Turmoil at DC

DC’s leadership has been nothing if not tumultuous over the past decade. Back in 2016, Warners ushered in the era of DC Films, with Geoff Johns and Jon Berg serving as co-chairmen of the division. But after films like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League underperformed, Johns stepped down in favor of Walter Hamada in 2018.

Despite the success of 2018’s Aquaman and 2019’s Joker, the DC brand remained on rocky footing, leading Hamada himself to leave the company in 2022. Thus began a brief bloodbath where several parties jockeyed for control of DC’s future, including Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson. Only in 2023 did things settle down when James Gunn and Peter Safran were announced as the new co-CEOs of the rebranded DC Studios and the sun finally, officially set on the DC Extended Universe.

Nor has this behind-the-scenes chaos been limited to DC’s film and TV division. The publishing side has also seen some big shake-ups in recent years. DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson left the company in 2018. In 2019, DC laid off approximately 3% of its staff, and co-publisher Dan DiDio left the company later that year, cutting short plans for the controversial 5G initiative that would have replaced DC’s iconic cast of heroes with a new generation of characters. Currently, DC’s publishing division is overseen by President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee and Editor-in-Chief Marie Javins.

In short, this is a lot of chaos for any one company to endure in such a relatively short span of time. There’s been a tangible lack of consistency and direction behind the DC brand for a long time now. Just look at the latter years of the DCEU, with the company afraid to leave behind the foundation established in Zack Snyder’s films but simultaneously failing to build on that foundation in a meaningful way. And all the while, box office returns steadily plummeted.

Meanwhile, DC continued to struggle in other media. 2024’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League proved that even the mighty Rocksteady can miss with the DC brand. Over on the comics side, while the 5G reboot and its accompanying revamped DC timeline were certainly ambitious, they threatened to undo all the goodwill DC had only recently recaptured through the DC Rebirth initiative.

DC was badly in need of a consistent, steady vision by the time Gunn and Safran were hired to right the ship in 2023. And while it’s far too early to say whether they’ve accomplished that goal, the early signs are certainly promising. Superman was the box office success DC sorely needed after a truly disastrous 2023 and 2024 film slate. Creature Commandos and Peacemaker have established a strong track record for the DCU on the streaming front. And as for the comics, the Lee/Javins era of DC Comics has been truly great, most notably giving us the chart-topping Absolute Universe imprint.

Things are finally looking up for DC, which is exactly why the chaos and confusion of the Netflix acquisition is an unwelcome development. The very last thing this company needs is another regime change or a fundamental pivot.

Why Netflix Needs to Trust the Plan

It’s going to take some time for Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery to be approved and completed (and there are any number of things that could go wrong along the way). But once all the t’s are crossed and the i’s are dotted, Netflix is going to have a massive pile of new IP to play with. Which then begs the question, do they continue following Warners’ roadmap for these franchises or start fresh?

It’s hard to imagine Netflix changing course with the Harry Potter and Game of Thrones series. They’ll be inheriting a Harry Potter series in the midst of adapting the original novels and an ever-growing slate of Game of Thrones spinoffs. No reason to rock those boats. But with DC, there’s always a danger that Netflix will want to wipe the slate clean and start a brand new shared universe of films and shows from the ground up for their streaming service.

We can only hope the company resists that particular urge. After so many years of creative turmoil and leadership shake-ups, the very last thing DC needs right now is change. Gunn and Safran need to be left alone to cook. We’ve only gotten one live-action DCU movie so far in Superman, which will be followed in 2026 by Supergirl and Clayface and in 2027 by Gunn’s Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow. On the TV front, we’ve only seen the barest glimpse of 2026’s Lanterns and the other shows that will make up this new universe.

Clearly, there’s a plan in place. Gunn even has a name for it - “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.” But we’re still in the very early stages of that plan. As much as things are looking up for DC after a bad few years, we’re still very much in the rebuilding stage right now. Gunn’s Superman did respectably well at the box office (narrowly beating 2013’s Man of Steel domestically), but one might argue that a big-budget Superman reboot by the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy should have performed better. Repairing the damage done to the DC brand is a long-term, ongoing process.

Netflix needs to commit to letting that process continue to play out, not tossing everything out and starting over yet again. We just found the ideal live-action Superman in David Corenswet. Don’t start that agonising process all over again.

And what of DC Comics in all of this? Is DC’s publishing division even a blip on Netflix’s radar? Will they have any interest in overseeing a comic book publisher, or simply license DC’s characters out to other companies? Again, DC Comics has been in a very good place these past couple of years, so the ideal scenario is that Netflix stays as hands-off with the division as it has Mark Millar’s Millarworld line. Let DC Comics continue to operate as it has these past few years, producing good, character-driven stories that can be adapted in other media.

If Netflix wants to make waves anywhere with the DC brand, it should be with the games division. While somewhat overshadowed in the initial announcement, it’s been confirmed that Netflix will take ownership of WB Games along with everything else. With all the movies Netflix has been making into the interactive games space lately, they may well have big plans for the developers and IP now coming under their umbrella.

As it is, WB Games has hardly been making the best use of the DC brand in recent years. Games like 2022’s Gotham Knights and the aforementioned Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League were big disappointments, while the much-anticipated Wonder Woman game has been canceled after a long, chaotic development cycle. Meanwhile, as much as Gunn and Safran seem to be including the games in their long-term plans for the DC line, that has yet to yield any concrete announcements. Hopefully, having Netflix’s resources to bring to bear can only mean better things for DC’s future gaming slate.

But beyond the games, the best thing that can happen for DC in the midst of this merger is nothing at all. After so many years of shifting leadership and pivots in direction, what DC needs is stability, consistency, and a chance to win back moviegoers still skeptical of the brand. What it doesn’t need is a new captain at the helm or yet another reboot. Just trust that Gunn and company know what they’re doing and leave it at that.

Should Netflix overhaul the approach to the DC brand, or do you want to see Gunn and Safran continue their vision for the DCU? Vote in our poll and let us know your thoughts in the comments below:

The LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant Drops to Just $35.99 After a Rare 40% Discount

5 décembre 2025 à 20:20

Nintendo and LEGO fans rejoice, because one of our favorite sets just got a major discount ahead of the holidays. Amazon has lowered the price of the LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant 71426 to just $35.99 after a 40% off instant discount. This happens to just barely clear the free shipping threshold for non-Prime members. The 18+ rating means that this set is relatively challenging, but I've built this one myself and I think it's a great set for builders of all ages. It would make a pretty amazing gift for the holidays and, unlike many new LEGO sets, won't cost an arm and a leg.

40% Off LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant 71426

The LEGO Piranha Plant measures 9" high, 4.5" wide, and 6.5" deep – about the size of a potted plant – and consists of 540 bricks. The Piranha Plant makes for a fantastic display; it has numerous articulation points located at the head, mouth, stalk, and each of its leaves, and the jaw is also hinged, all of which allow for myriad customizable poses. There's even a cool little easter egg: A piggy bank is built into the pipe with two golden coins included to get you started on your stash. Despite the small brick count, this set is intended for ages 18+, so novice builders may need guidance. Once completed however, this adorable looking set is sure to be a hit with people of all ages, even if they didn't join in on the build.

Kevin Wong built this set for IGN and wrote, "As far as LEGO builds are concerned, the new Piranha Plant is just about perfect – vibrantly colored, well-proportioned and sized, and reasonably priced. Whether you're new to bricks or you're a dedicated hobbyist, this set captures that signature Mario franchise whimsy – cute but not too cute, menacing but not too menacing, and imbued with lots of personality."

Another LEGO x Nintendo collab that has been making waves amongst the IGN community is the new LEGO Super Mario Game Boy set. This is a near 1:1 replica of the original Game Boy released back in 1989. The set comes with two game cartridges: Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and even includes their respective lenticular screens. Seth Macy built this set and loved it.
