Asus has announced two new ROG gaming monitors in China, each catering to different needs. The ROG XG248Q5G-P is aimed at those who want the highest refresh rate possible, while the ROG XG32UCG offers a dual-Hz mode so users can choose between a higher resolution or refresh rate.

According to Wccftech, the ROG XG248Q5G-P is a 24.1-inch monitor that prioritises speed, boasting an impressive 610Hz refresh rate, placing it among the fastest displays available. While it may not match the colour accuracy and size of current Mini-LED or OLED monitors, its 90% DCI-P3 color gamut should provide adequate colour reproduction. Note that achieving the 610Hz refresh rate requires overclocking. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1. For ergonomics, Asus included a monitor arm. The official presentation does not explicitly state the resolution, but we assume it's Full HD. The marketing material also shows the monitor has a 0.1ms response time and supports Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium.

The ASUS ROG XG32UCG adopts a different approach with its Dual-Hz mode. This 32-inch monitor uses Fast IPS technology, covers 95% of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum and offers users the choice between two modes: 4K resolution at a 160Hz refresh rate or Full HD resolution at a 320Hz refresh rate. This flexibility allows users to prioritise either visual fidelity or high-speed gameplay. The XG32UCG also supports DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 and supports Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium. The rated response time is a mere 0.3 ms.

The Asus ROG XG248Q5G-P will be released in China for 7999 RMB (£838), while the Asus ROG XG32UCG will cost 3999 RMB (£419). Asus has not yet confirmed release dates for these monitors in regions outside of China.

When Spider-Man 2 first came to PC in February, fans were quick to notice that this port was not of the same quality as Spider-Man or its Miles Morales standalone spin-off. Despite that, the game launched with a Steam Deck Verified rating – which has now been revoked. 

Spider-Man 2 is no longer ‘Steam Deck Verified'. The game is now marked as ‘playable' on the Steam Store, which is a much more accurate descriptor for a game that just barely functions on the limited handheld hardware.

The Playable rating for Steam Deck games means that the game can run, but the default settings might not be appropriate, requiring some manual tinkering on the user's part to get it running well. The Playable tag can also be applied to games that may have UI issues or require other manual inputs, like pressing the Steam button + X in order to access the virtual keyboard.

In the case of Spider-Man 2 though, it is definitely a case of the game simply not running very well on Steam Deck with the default graphics preset. With some tinkering, users can expect to reach a 30FPS experience, but it will wobble at points.

Early listings of the Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti have surfaced. Two retailers have already listed a few RTX 5060 TI 8GB and 16GB models, and they all cost way more than most of us are probably willing to spend on such cards. The 8GB cards started at almost €600, and most 16GB models are priced at over €700.

The listings found and shared by @momomo_us show the 8GB variant priced at €587.17 (£508.78) and the cheapest 16GB model at €693.60 (£601). However, don't take these figures too seriously. As we've seen with previous leaks, pre-launch pricing can be highly unreliable and subject to change. Even among the two retailers, there's a considerable price difference.

Unofficial sources have suggested that the RTX 5060 Ti might be priced lower than its predecessor, the RTX 4060 Ti, which currently retails for around €420. However, these listings are considerably higher than that.

We expect more concrete pricing details to emerge in the coming days, with the official debut of the RTX 5060 Ti likely happening later this week.

A new set of benchmark scores for the RTX 5060 Ti has been shared online ahead of its rumoured release. These include various 3DMark benchmark tests in various resolutions, giving a better idea of how the RTX 5060 Ti will compare to the competition and its predecessor.

According to VideoCardz, who shared the results, all these are of a 16GB variant. The same report claims initial reviews suggest that the 8 GB variant of the 5060 Ti will likely exhibit a noticeable performance deficit compared to its 16GB counterpart. As such, it seems Nvidia won't supply 8GB models of the 5060 Ti for review, focusing on the higher memory capacity variant as it performs better.

The 3DMark scores for the 16 GB variant show an average performance increase of approximately 20% (up to 27%) compared to the 4060 Ti 16 GB. Compared to the RTX 5070, Nvidia's higher-tier GPU is about 40% faster. The detailed 3dMark scores can be found below:

Although these are technically all synthetic benchmarks, Speed Way and Steel Nomad are relatively good for perceiving how the card will perform compared to others in real-world tasks.

Nvidia is looking to bring some of its manufacturing over to the US. Today, the company announced plans to begin building and testing its Blackwell GPUs at TSMC's plant in Arizona, and Nvidia AI supercomputers will begin being built at a facility in Texas. 

Teaming up with leading manufacturing partners, Nvidia has commissioned more than a million square feet of manufacturing space. Blackwell GPUs will be made at the TSMC chip plant in Phoenix, Arizona, while Nvidia's AI supercomputers will be made at Foxconn's plant in Houston, Texas, as well as another facility owned by Wistron in Dallas.

Mass production at these plants is expected to ramp up within the next 12 to 15 months. Nvidia has furthered its investment in US manufacturing by partnering with Amkor and SPIL for packaging and testing operations.

On the AI front, Nvidia expects to produce $500B worth of AI infrastructure in the US. Speaking on the move, Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, said: “The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time. Adding American manufacturing helps us better meet the incredible and growing demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthens our supply chain and boosts our resiliency.”

KitGuru Says: GPU production is starting to go global, with new facilities being built in the US and Europe. It will be interesting to see what impact this has on supply for future launches in the years ahead.

Schedule 1 has quickly risen to be one of the most popular multiplayer games on Steam right now. Naturally, this has also led to a slew of mods for the game being released. Unfortunately, bad actors have been inserting malware into some of these mods. 

The Schedule 1 community team has posted an urgent PSA to the game's subreddit (via The Gamer), confirming that malware has been found in a number of mods, including some of the most popular mods, like the increased stack size limit mod.

It was found that the developer of the increased stack size limit mod, Froggyp1, sold their account to someone who replaced their original mod with one containing a Trojan virus. The Backpack Mod Reupload mod was also discovered to contain malware and has since been removed by Nexusmods.

If you've been playing this game and have installed mods, be sure to check the subreddit in case any more mods are discovered to be housing malware.

KitGuru Says: This is a good reminder to always be careful when downloading mods. Just because a mod is popular doesn't necessarily mean it isn't hiding anything nefarious underneath.

Professional overclockers have been battling for the DDR5 speed crown in recent months, with the record being broken a couple of times. G.Skill today announced that the overclocking world record has been broken again, this time by G.Skill OC World Cup 2023 champion, Seby.

Seby won the G.Skill OC World Cup in 2023, an event that takes place each year alongside Computex. Since that big win, Seby has consistently achieved top rankings on HWBOT and is a key contributor to the professional overclocking scene.

Seby's latest achievement is breaking the DDR5 speed record. Using G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 memory with SK-Hynix DDR5 ICs, running on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 motherboard with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU, Seby was able to crank the speeds up to 12,772MT/s. Speaking on the achievement, G.Skill Product Marketing lead, Frank Hung, said: “We are extremely proud to once again see the G.SKILL Trident Z5 memory set a new world record. This achievement is a testament to our relentless pursuit of memory performance and the strength of our ongoing collaboration with Intel and ASUS.”

The result has been validated on both HWBOT and CPU-Z. Crucially, LN2 cooling is used to achieve these record-breaking speeds. You won't get this kind of an overclock using standard cooling methods at home.

Blizzard just recently revealed its roadmap for Diablo 4 in 2025, with some teasers for what's to come in 2026, like a new expansion. Now, Diablo franchise manager, Rod Fergusson, has shared that internally, the team has a ten-year roadmap. 

In an interview with Game File, Fergusson said “we're here for the long haul, we've been doing long-range planning recently and I've created a roadmap – a 10-year roadmap”.

Interestingly, it seems that this is a new roadmap for 2026 and beyond, not counting the two years that Diablo has been on the market for already. The thing I find odd is that Blizzard has also spoken about Diablo 5, which would almost assuredly release before this ten-year plan comes to an end.

As a huge fan of Diablo 4, and someone who still regularly plays the game each season, I have my doubts that Blizzard will see this plan through. There will no doubt be changes and cancellations. If we're still getting new Diablo 4 content in the year 2035, I will be shocked.

KitGuru Says: Diablo 4 has improved a lot since launch. The game has loadouts now so you can easily swap character configurations without needing to reset everything manually. Boss battles and endgame content have ramped up in recent seasons and there are more in-game activities on the way throughout the year. Still, even with all of that, another ten years of Diablo 4 seems like a bit much.

Over the weekend, Bungie finally revealed substantial details about its next game, Marathon. The upcoming extraction shooter begins alpha testing this month, before launching in September. However, it will not be a free to play game, Bungie has now confirmed. 

While Bungie did not announce its pricing scheme for Marathon, the studio did confirm after the showcase that Marathon “will be a premium title”. However, Bungie also clarifies that Marathon “will not be a ‘full-priced' title”. With that in mind, we are likely looking at a price tag around $40, similarly to last year's failed live-service shooter, Concord.

While shipping a game for less than full price can entice some buyers, we are now in an age where the biggest and most-played multiplayer games in the world are all free-to-play. Sony was unable to overcome this reality with Concord last year, but with Bungie being a ‘big name' studio, they'll stand a better chance of success than Firewalk Studios did.

Marathon will release for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on the 23rd of September.

For years now, fans have been eagerly awaiting the long-promised Hollow Knight Silksong. Despite a bunch of false flags which led many to believe that the game was ready to release, we heard little from Team Cherry. In the wake of Silksong’s reappearance during the Switch 2 Direct however, it seems the sequel might actually finally be close to release.

Since as far back as 2021, there have been rumours that Hollow Knight Silksong was close to launching. Clearly this was in fact not the case, with Team Cherry remaining rather mute on the matter.

As mentioned however, during the recent Switch 2 Direct, the elusive Silksong made its first public appearance in a while, alongside a 2025 release year.

Since then, eagle-eyed fans have noted some behind-the-scenes activity on Steam, with Silksong (as reported by Dexerto) recently being slotted between other upcoming games set to launch in April – despite not having a release date yet.

Given how April is already halfway over, it is unlikely that Silksong is planned to be surprise-dropped in a week or two. That said, all the evidence seems to be pointing towards Hollow Knight Silksong’s imminent arrival. We hopefully won’t have to wait long to find out.

Star Wars Outlaws received a rather mixed reception upon its release late last year, with the Ubisoft-developed open-world title being criticised for a number of gameplay decisions, alongside a buggy launch. Since then, the game has improved quite a bit thanks to a range of patches alongside story DLC. Up next for Outlaws is “A Pirate's Fortune” – set to be showcased later this week.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Star Wars Outlaws page shared the following: “Tune in to get a first glimpse at what’s next for Star Wars Outlaws. Join us on April 18th at Star Wars Celebration to learn more.”

Since its release back in August 2024, Star Wars Outlaws has received a bunch of patches, with 5 major title updates – addressing issues ranging from AI, performance, visuals and of course, the previously-sub-standard stealth mechanics.

While we don’t yet have details on what this DLC will entail, the first story pack – Wild Card – was received mostly well, though it did see some criticism for its short length.

Hopefully we get a full breakdown of everything set to be added with this second story pack during the showcase.

These highly integrated PCs from HP promise great things and look fascinating however both the price and delivery date are unknown. By contrast we know the price of the three versions of Framework Desktop and we know that delivery will take many months, which leaves us in a bit of a quandary.

We're very deep into the current console generation, with both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles approaching five-years on the market. At this point, we would expect to see prices come down, but Sony has other ideas. In several regions, including the UK, the price of the PS5 is about to increase. 

Once the price hike comes into effect, the PS5 will actually be more expensive now than it was five years ago. The PS5 Digital Edition launched at £359.99 back in 2020. Sony increased the price of the system to £389.99 in 2022 and now in 2025, the price is going up again to £429.99, meaning the price of this console has risen by £70 in five years. Typically as hardware matures, prices come down but this generation, that has not been the case.

In Europe, the PS5 Digital Edition launched at €399.99 but now in 2025, the console will begin selling for €499.99, a €100 increase from launch. Unfortunately, those in Australia and New Zealand aren't escaping the price hikes either, with prices going up to $749.95.

For now, the PS5 with disc drive and the PS5 Pro will not receive a price increase in the UK or Europe. However, in Australia and New Zealand, the price of the standard edition console is also going up to $829.95.

For the second time in a row, the US has been spared of any price increases.

KitGuru Says: The PS5 is now more expensive than ever, despite the fact that we are entering the final years of this console generation. If prices are like this now for the PS5, I dread to think what the PS6 will cost when it launches.

As they do each year, hundreds of publications share their list of top titles from the past 12 months. With a majority of the 2024 award shows having come and gone, we now have a pretty complete picture of which title won the overall Game of the Year – that being Astro Bot with almost 200 awards.

In a thread collated through ResetEra, hundreds of different awards have been analysed and organised. If you’ve been following many of the major award shows, then the overall winner should not be too surprising. With a total of 196 GOTY wins, Team Asobi’s Astro Bot is by far the most celebrated game.

Beyond this, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth took home 56 GOTYs – with the indie poker-themed rogue-like Balatro landing in 3rd place with 46 total game of the year wins.

Throughout this past generation we’ve seen Microsoft move further and further away from physical media – especially when it comes to including a game’s data on its disc. Ahead of the PS5 launch of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, it’s been revealed that under 20% of the game data is actually on the Blu Ray itself.

With Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming to PS5 on the 17th of April, YouTuber Retro Game Future got their hands on the game early and as such was able to determine what actually comes on the disc.

Unfortunately, while Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes up around 125-30GB, the PS5 Blu Ray disc includes just 20GB of data – meaning you will need to download an additional 100GB at minimum before playing.

Of course, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is far from the first title to take this route. That said, unlike the Switch and its more bespoke cartridges, printing Blu Rays is a commonplace practice which has become increasingly cost-effective – making the decision to not go with a 100GB disc unfortunate to see (especially as the minimum size for a 4K Blu Ray is 50GB meaning they could have at least squeezed some more data onto the disc.)

All that said, physical media is far from Microsoft’s priority, with many first-party Xbox titles (Indiana Jones included) being nothing more than a code in a box.

While having a physical disc is in some ways preferable, needing to download almost the entire game defeats its purpose somewhat.

Rebellion, the studio behind the recently released Atomfall, has announced that its new post-apocalyptic adventure, set in the British countryside, has already attracted over 2 million players within its first month.

While Atomfall's availability on Xbox Game Pass from launch undoubtedly contributed to its widespread adoption, the sheer number of players engaging with a brand-new title in such a short timeframe is worth praising.

Rebellion also shared some intriguing in-game statistics, showing how players have engaged with the world of Atomfall. These include:

• Over 5.9 million enemies dispatched with cricket bats.
• More than 250,000 virtual pints of beer consumed.
• A staggering 500,000 cups of tea were brewed and enjoyed.
• A rather unfortunate 420,000+ player deaths attributed to rat swarms.
• And a dominant preference for tinned meat as the in-game food of choice, with over 14.1 million tins devoured.

On Opencritic, the game has a good 75 critic rating, with 64% of reviewers recommending it, and a 70 player rating. Critics have praised the tale, but significant gameplay flaws and design challenges keep it from being a great game.

GPU-Z (v2.65) just got support for two upcoming GPUs, and one of them is a bit unexpected. Besides getting support for the RTX 5060 Ti. The software also received support for the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, suggesting an imminent release.

Knowing this, instead of using the RX 9060 XT as a competitor to the RTX 5060 Ti, the company seems to be preparing to launch the Radeon RX 9070 GRE first. Interestingly, the same GPU-Z update also adds support for the upcoming RTX 5060 Ti, but only the 16GB variant. Previous leaks have pointed to 16GB and 8GB versions of the RTX 5060 Ti, but Nvidia has made no public announcements at this stage.

Beyond the AMD and Nvidia news, this GPU-Z update is noteworthy for its expanded support for Intel and Moore Threads GPUs. This includes support for the Intel A750E and A580E, embedded solutions catering to applications beyond gaming. Moore Threads support extends to the S3000, a server GPU for virtualisation.

Razer has officially launched Razer PC Remote Play, a new PC-to-Mobile streaming platform. This service allows users to stream their PC game library to smartphones, tablets, or Windows handhelds, aiming to deliver a seamless and high-fidelity experience. Razer PC Remote Play promises to leverage the full potential of a gaming PC, streaming at the mobile device's maximum resolution and refresh rate.

Following the beta release at CES 2025, the official launch of PC Remote Play includes a redesigned interface within the Razer Cortex PC application. It also expands support to include a wider range of mobile gaming controllers compatible with iOS and Android, integrates the AV1 video codec for improved visual quality and reduced latency, and incorporates software updates to enhance the overall remote play experience.

Razer PC Remote Play offers extensive controller compatibility, supporting Razer Kishi and other iOS/Android compatible controllers, aiming to replicate a console-like experience on mobile while harnessing the power of a gaming PC. iPad users can also utilize keyboard, mouse, and trackpad controls. The platform integrates with Razer Nexus, allowing users to browse, configure, and launch PC games directly from their mobile devices. Razer Nexus also facilitates control customisation, gameplay recording and sharing, and controller updates.

The service automatically optimises the streaming output to the mobile device's display. For Android users with Razer Kishi Ultra controllers, Razer Sensa HD Haptics provides tactile feedback synchronised with in-game events, such as shooting and engine rumbling, for enhanced immersion.

To set up Razer PC Remote Play, follow these steps:

1. Install Razer Nexus and Razer PC Remote Play on the mobile device.
2. Enable Remote Play within Razer Cortex on the PC.
3. Log in using a Razer ID. The PC and mobile device will then pair automatically.
4. Connect a Razer Kishi or other compatible iOS/Android controller to play controller-supported games.

Razer PC Remote Play is compatible with various platforms, including Steam, Epic Games, PC Game Pass, iOS 18+, Android 14+, and Windows 10/11. The application is available for download from the App Store and Google Play Store.

Larian Studios hasn't finished up work on Baldur's Gate 3 just yet. The studio has issued seven major patches for the game, adding all new content and gameplay for players looking to jump in for another run. All good things must come to an end though, with the game's final patch now set to rollout. 

Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 was first announced in November last year, with Larian confirming that it would indeed be the final major update to the game. Now, after months of testing, the patch is ready to rollout for PC and consoles on the 15th of April.

Patch 8 will introduce split-screen multiplayer on Xbox Series S consoles, a huge achievement given the fact that at one point, the Xbox version of the game was almost cancelled due to difficulties getting this feature working on Xbox Series S. Microsoft eventually made a concession to its Xbox Series X/S parity rules, enabling Baldur's Gate 3 to release on Xbox Series S without split-screen, while the more powerful Xbox Series X had the feature at launch.

More excitingly for fans, this patch also adds 12 new subclasses to the game, opening things up for even more creative and diverse characters. Cross-play multiplayer is also coming with the new patch, as well as a Photo Mode.

Since acquiring Activision, Fans have been hopeful that Xbox will look to bring back some long-lost IP. It would seem that Prototype could be first in line for such a revival. 

Prototype first released in 2009 and was followed by a sequel in 2012. The Prototype games follow the story of Alex Mercer, a human shapeshifter that can transform into anyone, or use his abilities to wreak havoc. Unfortunately, the games did not reach Activision's lofty sales goals and as a result, Prototype was put on ice.

Prototype made a brief return in 2015, when both original titles were ported to Xbox One and PS4, but this re-release did not end up leading to any kind of sequel.

As spotted by Insider Gaming, according to one redditor, a survey has begun doing the rounds, asking for input on Alex Mercer as a returning protagonist and the shapeshifting gameplay of the Prototype games. Unfortunately, there is no further information beyond this. If true, I imagine we'd be getting a Prototype reboot, rather than a sequel, as the original game is now over 15 years old.

With the main Destiny saga wrapping up last year, Bungie has spent much of 2024 and 2025 focused on its next game – Marathon. A reboot of a classic 90s Sci-Fi shooter, Marathon (2025) is a PvP multiplayer focused title, releasing in September. 

Marathon was officially revealed to the world yesterday with a deep dive gameplay trailer. In my opinion, the game looks too much ‘like Destiny' and I believe some casual fans will end up confusing the games for being set in the same universe. Whether or not this is by design remains to be seen but so far, Bungie has offered no suggestion that Destiny and Marathon are somehow narratively linked.

Marathon will put players in the shoes of a ‘runner', a person that has given up their human form to obtain supernatural abilities. Players will be popped onto maps either as solo runners, or in squads and then the goal from there is to loot as much as you can and escape the map alive, without being shot down and looted by an enemy squad.

The game releases for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles on the 23rd of September. Alpha testing begins soon, so if you want to try the game out early, you can sign-up to participate in the invite-only playtests. While Bungie has not yet announced a price tag for the game, they have confirmed it will be a “premium title” but not a “full priced title”. With that in mind, it is likely to be priced similarly to last year's Concord, which sold for $40.

Thermaltake has introduced a revised version of its Steel Shadow Tough liquid cooler series in Europe, featuring subtle but significant changes. In Europe, the new series will be named LA(S) and available with 240mm and 360mm radiators.

As noted by Cowcotland, the core design, including the large, magnetically attached top panel for easy installation, appears to be the same. However, the fans have received a noticeable upgrade, operating within a speed range of 600 RPM to 2500 RPM and delivering 79.3 CFM airflow and 3.45 mmH2O static pressure. Moreover, the fans incorporate a daisy-chaining mechanism that simplifies PWM and RGB connection.

The most significant difference between the LA (240 and 360) and the LA-S (240 and 360) AIO liquid coolers is the display on the latter. While the LA series has a water block cover with the Thermaltake logo and lighting, the LA-S uses a 2.4-inch display with CPU metrics.

The Thermaltake LA series starts at €74.90 for the LA240 model and increases to €84.90 for the LA360. As for the LA-S series, the LA240-S model goes for €84.90 and the LA360-S model for €94.90.

Back in August, we received the first teaser trailer for the next Mafia game. Rather than a sequel, we are getting Mafia: The Old Country, a prequel that explores the origins of the Mafia families. Last night, an update to the game's Steam Store listing revealed that the game will become available one-year on from its initial reveal.

Mafia: The Old Country is a prequel, set years before the events of the first game. This is essentially an origin story, set in 1900s Sicily, presenting a gritty mob story during an era that was particularly dangerous and unforgiving for those involved.

Mafia: The Old Country will become available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S starting on the 8th of August, roughly one year on from the game's original announcement.

All eyes are on publisher Take-Two and its subsidiaries this year. Take-Two owns 2K Games, which is publishing Mafia. With the game arriving in August, it seems likely that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be coming in the October-November timeframe.

When the RTX 5070 first launched in the UK, it held a £539 MSRP. Now, we are starting to see RTX 5070 drop below MSRP for the first time in the UK. We are also starting to see RTX 5080 pricing settle at under the £1000 mark. 

The Gainward GeForce RTX 5070 Python III is currently on sale for £518.99 in the UK, putting it around £20 below the launch MSRP price. The RTX 5070 is a solid GPU for 1080p and 1440p gaming, but inflated launch prices hampered opinions a bit. Getting one below MSRP improves things from a price to performance standpoint, particularly for anyone who skipped RTX 40.

For those after something a bit faster, the Palit RTX 5080 Gaming Pro is currently at its cheapest price. We reviewed the card at launch and at the time, it cost over £1100. Now a few months on, it is available and in stock for £999.95.

Over the course of the Switch’s life cycle, Nintendo ported pretty much every single Wii U exclusive to the console, offering enhanced resolutions and sometimes additional content. One of the few games to never see such a remaster was The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. Despite the fact that the GameCube version of Wind Waker is coming to Switch 2 through NSO, the company claimed that a more comprehensive port could happen in future.

Following the confirmation that Wind Waker would be coming to Switch 2 through the system’s new Nintendo Switch Online GameCube emulator, many fans were left fearing that the well-received Wii U port of ‘Wind Waker HD’ would be ignored as a result.

In an interview conducted by Kinda Funny’s Tim Getty towards Nintendo of America's senior vice-president of product development [Nate Bihldorff], it was revealed that Wind Waker HD could still come to Switch 2, with Getty later stating:

“I did ask if having The Wind Waker on Nintendo Switch Online precludes it from the Switch 2 getting the actual Wii U port at some point, and he was very quick to say ‘no, all options are on the table.'”

Of course, Wind Waker HD coming to Switch 2 could be a monkey’s paw situation at this point, given the current pricing strategies for Nintendo’s ports. Still, Wind Waker HD was an excellent title, and so it (and Twilight Princes HD) deserve to be deshackled from the Wii U’s dying grasp.

With Season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us mere days away, buzz surrounding the upcoming series has begun to bubble up. Ahead of this, one insider has shared just how much the success of the first Season impacted game sales.

Back when Season 1 of HBO’s The Last of Us first dropped, we received some indication as to the synergistic impact of the show on its videogame sales performance.

Though a rather slim section of the market, it was reported at the time that the UK boxed sales for The Last of Us Part I spiked by 238% following Season 1’s premiere.

Ahead of the second season, we’ve now gotten much more comprehensive statistics, with Christopher Dring of The Game Business revealing that Season 1 resulted in two particular spikes in sales – after the season premiere (38%) and during the finale (75%).

Even amongst those who already owned the games (or perhaps had access through PS Plus), monthly active players skyrocketed – going as high as a 1000% month-over-month increase for TLOU Remastered; 440% for TLOU Part II and 347% for the PS5 console exclusive Part I Remake.

With Season 2 just a couple days away, it will be interesting to see how the game sales are impacted this time round – and whether Part II will see the highest bump.

Since its initial release back in 2022, Vampire Survivors has continued to thrive through the consistent release of DLC – both free and paid. Available right now, the free Emerald Diorama update has gone live; featuring a dozen new characters, weapons and much more.

Making the announcement on Steam, the team at Poncle officially unveiled the Emerald Diorama DLC. Available right now, this expansion is made in collaboration with Square Enix’s SaGa RPG franchise and features 12 new characters; 16 weapons; 9 music tracks; character parties and the new World-Weaving Stage.

Beyond this, the game has also gotten a more general update. Named The Coop, this introduces a new relic which allows you to speed up the game alongside two brand new Adventures (with 6 chapters each); a new stage; character; weapon and more.

Last but not least, Vampire Survivors has finally gotten full cross-save support, allowing you to seamlessly play between PC, Xbox, Android and iOS. Unfortunately, Switch owners will have to wait a bit, and PlayStation players may be left out of cross-save entirely. Poncle’s full statement on the matter can be found HERE.

Regardless, this represents a massive update for Vampire Survivors, especially given the fact that every addition is pretty much free. Hopefully the cross-save situation on PS4/5 gets resolved as soon as possible.

Astro Bot, the acclaimed platformer, emerged as the dominant force at the 2025 BAFTA Games Awards, securing five wins, including the prestigious Best Game of the Year. Still Wakes the Deep, a psychological horror title, also enjoyed a successful night, earning three BAFTA awards, two of which recognised outstanding acting performances.

The awards saw intense competition, wiSenua'sa's Saga: Hellblade II leading the nominations with 11. Astro Bot and Still Wakes the Deep followed closely with six nominations each, alongside Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Lego Horizon Adventures, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The nominations encompassed games released between November 25th, 2023, and November 15th, 2024.

Additionally, Japanese composer Yoko Shimomura was honoured with the BAFTA Fellowship, the highest accolade presented at the BAFTA Games Awards for her iconic work on series like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XV, and Mario & Luigi.

It's known that Nvidia has been using Micron and Samsung GDDR7 chips to power the RTX 50 series. However, a new player has now joined their ranks, with SK Hynix now supplying GDDR7 memory for newly manufactured RTX 50 series graphics cards. 

It's important to clarify that Nvidia doesn't actually use the memory chips. While board partners ultimately procure and install the memory chips, Nvidia often selects the memory vendors. This practice stems from cost-efficiency, as purchasing GPUs and memory in bundles can be more economical.

According to MEGAsizeGPU, Nvidia's GeForce RTX 50 GPUs now support memory from three manufacturers: Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron.

To identify the memory vendor on a specific graphics card, users can run GPU-Z, which provides detailed information about the installed memory chips. You can also disassemble the card to see what memory modules are installed. However, this may void the warranty or damage thermal pads, so it's better to stick with GPU-Z.

Gigabyte has registered its upcoming Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card variants with the RRA (South Korean Radio Research Agency), signaling their readiness for release. Moreover, it registered various RTX 5060 Ti cards, but to our surprise, all were 16GB variants.

There's a notable disparity between Gigabyte's planned offerings for Radeon and GeForce GPUs. As spotted by @harukaze5719, Gigabyte intends to provide a diverse range of GeForce RTX 5060 Ti models, including Eagle, Windforce, Gaming, Aero, and even Aorus Elite options. However, its Radeon RX 9060 XT lineup is more limited, featuring only Gaming models, one with 16GB VRAM and another with 8GB. Additionally, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti SKUs do not include any 8GB variants.

The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and the Radeon RX 9060 XT are expected to be available in 16GB and 8GB memory configurations. However, the memory technology differs: the RTX 5060 Ti will use GDDR7, while the Radeon RX 9060 XT will use GDDR6. Both cards are projected to employ a 128-bit memory bus, resulting in a bandwidth of 448 GB/s for the former and 320 GB/s for the latter.

The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is anticipated to launch next week, while a firm release date for the Radeon RX 9060 XT is still unknown.

Bungie is gearing up for its big Marathon reveal next week. While owned by Sony, Bungie is in a unique position, as it has more independence than other first-party PlayStation studios. As a result, Marathon will be one of the few PlayStation PC titles that does not require a PSN account. 

As spotted by Eurogamer, Marathon won't require a PSN account in order to play. Initially, some fans were concerned about the possibility of the game requiring users to make a PSN account, which would lock players from hundreds of countries out of being able to play the game. Bungie addressed the issue head-on in its Marathon Discord Server, stating that “Marathon will not require a PlayStation account for players on PC and Xbox”.

Initially, Sony did not have any PSN requirements for its PC games. However, shortly after the successful launch of Helldivers 2 on PC, Sony changed tactics and implemented PSN account logins for Helldivers 2, and upcoming (at the time) titles like Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarök and Ghost of Tsushima. This led to those games being unpurchasable in hundreds of countries, as PSN is only supported in a handful of regions.

Eventually, the backlash to this led to Sony backtracking on its PSN account requirements. Helldivers 2 no longer requires a PSN login to play and in January, Sony announced plans to remove PSN log-in requirements for its big single-player games too, including the likes of Spider-Man 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.

KitGuru Says: Given that Sony threw in the towel on PSN account enforcement in January, it would seem there was still some concern around Marathon. I'm not sure this concern was warranted at this stage, but at least Bungie was quick to address it.

It was clear from the jump that Marvel Rivals was looking to dethrone Overwatch. The game delivers team-based 5v5 gameplay, with a focus on synergising heroes and their abilities to win the map objective, with a focus on competitive gameplay. As it turns out, Marvel Rivals may well have succeeded. 

Marvel Rivals was a hit from day-one, amassing millions of players following its launch in December 2024. Where did many of those players come from? Overwatch – at least according to the games market analysts at NewZoo.

According to their latest industry report, 45 percent of the Overwatch 2 players who stopped playing in December 2024 did move over to Marvel Rivals instead. I have to say, this is true within my own circle of friends too, where former Overwatch die-hards are now regularly logging hours on Marvel Rivals instead, so I have little trouble believing this figure.

As spotted by Insider Gaming, the report also notes that despite only releasing in December, Marvel Rivals had the eighth highest total playtime of any game on Steam in 2024.

Blizzard has previously addressed the increased pressure the Overwatch team now faces, admitting that Overwatch 2 had ‘not evolved' as much as it should have. Following Marvel Rivals' success, Blizzard has been trying to bring players back in with events like Overwatch: Classic, bringing back the old 6v6 game mode with two tanks per team.

KitGuru Says: Free to Play games now dominate the console and PC gaming markets, not just the mobile space. Once established, it is incredibly difficult to dethrone one of these titles. The interesting thing will be whether or not Blizzard can really win players back without starting over again with an Overwatch 3.

Nvidia has announced the next round of titles for GeForce Now. This week, six more games will join the cloud gaming library, including new Xbox game, South of Midnight, and other new releases, like The Talos Principle: Reawakened.

South of Midnight is the latest game from Xbox Game Studios. Developed by Compulsion Games, the studio behind We Happy Few, South of Midnight takes players on a highly stylised action-adventure set in the deep south. The Talos Principle: Reawakened is another big game of note this week. The original game was one of the biggest indie hits of the 2010s and now, it is back with new and improved graphics.

We are just days away from the premiere of The Last of Us Season 2. The first season was a critical success and was well received by fans old and new. The second season has already begun receiving high-scoring reviews and now, HBO has confirmed plans for Season 3. 

Speaking with Variety, The Last of Us series co-creator, Craig Mazin, confirmed that season 3 has already been ordered, stating: “We approached Season 2 with the goal of creating something we could be proud of. The end results have exceeded even our most ambitious goals, thanks to our continued collaboration with HBO and the impeccable work of our unparalleled cast and crew.”

Currently, the plan appears to be to squeeze “one or two more seasons” out of the source material available. With The Last of Us Part 2 leaving plenty of plotlines open for future exploration, if the show is popular enough, it could end up going beyond the scope of the games.

Despite the popularity of the games and the TV series, Last of Us game director, Neil Druckmann, has stated that Part 3 is not in development. Naughty Dog has a different game in the works at the moment, a new IP called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

KitGuru Says: Season 2 is set to be seven episodes long. Depending on how much further the showrunners want to take the series, we could see The Last of Us wrapped up with a slightly longer third season, or two more seasons of similar length to the current seasons.
