“They came out to our house and really pitched themselves as like this Chip and Joanna Gaines type of vibe,” one of the victims of the couple's years-long fraud scheme said.

The registry was launched in honor of Savanna Puckett, a 22-year-old sheriff's deputy who was shot to death by her ex-boyfriend who had a long history of domestic violence.

"Accidents happen. That's an unfortunate way to end the year. A tragic end."

The pilot, the sole person on board, was killed in the crash, town officials said in a news release.
