Today, NVIDIA has announced new updates for Nvidia ACE and RTX in Unreal Engine. For starters, ACE now supports the open-source small language model, Qwen-B3, enabling developers to deploy AI-powered real-time NPCs on-device within games. On the RTX side, Nvidia has revealed RTX Mega Geometry to further enhance game worlds.

NVIDIA ACE now supports the open-source Qwen3-8B small language model (SLM), enabling developers to deploy dynamic, real-time NPC characters on-device in PC games. The open source Qwen3-8B AI model is now available through NVIDIA ACE as an In-game Inferencing (IGI) SDK plugin, which simplifies the pipeline and optimises AI inference and graphics processing for accelerated game performance.

NVIDIA has also released a set of new updates for the NVIDIA RTX Branch of Unreal Engine (NvRTX), including the Unreal Engine 5.6.1 release, RTX Mega Geometry, and further ReSTIR PT performance and image quality improvements.

The Bonsai Diorama demo accompanies the NvRTX 5.6.1 release and showcases RTX Mega Geometry along with utilising ReSTIR PT and the DLSS 4 Technology suite:

Several improvements have been made to the core IGI SDK including, adding Magpie Flow for real-time, on-device text-to-speech with multilingual support in Spanish and German, introducing MultiLoRA adapters to support fine-tuning model weights quickly with minimal computational overhead, and CUDA in Graphics support for Vulkan backends for optimising graphics and AI workloads. In a market saturated with hardcore extraction shooters, a charmingly absurd parody has just waddled its way to the top of the Steam charts. Escape from Duckov, a top-down PvE looter shooter featuring heavily armed ducks, has become an overnight sensation since its launch on October 16th.

Developed by Team Soda, known for Snake Force and Soda Crisis, the game blends familiar extraction mechanics like raiding, looting, upgrading, with a quirky duck theme. Although it might seem a bit ridiculous on paper, it seems players can't get enough. According to the developer, the game sold over 500,000 copies in just its first three days.

The concurrent player numbers are equally staggering. SteamDB figures show the game has already hit a peak of over 182,000 players online simultaneously, placing it among Steam's most played games right now, but still behind behemoths like Counter-Strike 2, Battlefield 6, and Arc Raiders. This makes it the fourth best-selling game on the platform at the time of writing. Moreover, user reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, currently sitting at 95% favourable across nearly 7,000 reviews worldwide. While a significant portion of the player base is in China, the game's simple premise and addictive loop have clearly resonated worldwide.

Another ingredient for its success might be pricing. It launched at just £18, with a 12% discount currently bringing it down to £15.83 until October 30th. For that price, players are getting a surprisingly deep package, with five stages, over 50 weapons, base building, skill trees, crafting, and even Steam Workshop support for user-created content.

Sports Interactive has announced a multi-year licensing agreement with FIFA, bringing official rights to Football Manager for the very first time. Starting with next year's FIFA World Cup 26, the game will feature official tournament branding, kits, and more.

This partnership means that Football Manager 26, which is already set to be a transformative entry thanks to its move to the Unity Engine and the inclusion of women's football, will now feature a new level of authenticity for international management. The deal covers not only the men's World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the USA, but also the FIFA Women's World Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

The results of this partnership will be seen next year via a free update, timed ahead of the real-world tournament kicking off in June 2026. FM26 Mobile (Netflix) will be the exception, getting the update at launch. This update will include a revamped international management module and will bring fully licensed kits for all 48 participating national teams, alongside official tournament logos and broadcast graphics.

The game is scheduled for a worldwide launch on PC and consoles on November 4th.

This upcoming week has a number of major game launches, including the likes of The Outer Worlds 2, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, Jurassic World 3 and Ninja Gaiden 4. Outside of the release window, all of these games have one other thing in common – they'll all launch with day-one support for Nvidia's DLSS tech.

Over 800 games now feature RTX technologies. Four more big ones join the line-up over the next week. On top of that, Nvidia will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of GeForce at the Seoul GeForce Gamer Festival on October 30th, which will also be streamed over on Nvidia's Twitch channel, so you can tune in to see new game announcements from the likes of Krafton and NCSoft.

The Outer Worlds 2 is launching on October 29th, with early access arriving on October 24th for Premium Edition buyers. On day-one, the game will support DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, and ray-traced lighting effects.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is a long-anticipated release, having been delayed for five years, with a total project overhaul in the middle. The game finally drops this week with full support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, allowing graphics cards like the RTX 5090 to run the game at over 300FPS.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 is the latest Dinosaur park builder from Frontier. The game launches with full support for DLSS 4. Finally, we have Ninja Gaiden 4 and GODBREAKERS, both of which supports standard DLSS (no Frame Generation).

Main features (from Corsair's review guide)

• Triple-Chamber Design – To improve component cooling performance, we’ve isolated CPU cooling from GPU cooling so they both have access to separate sources of fresh air from outside the case, and that neither component can heat up the other. A front-mounted 360mm AIO (sold separately) pulls in fresh air from outside the case, while the GPU is cooled by the included reverse-rotor fans below it, which draw air from outside the case. The third chamber is behind the motherboard for storage devices, a power supply, and excess cables.
• Dual Airflow Ducts – The main chamber features built-in airflow ducts in the bottom and top of the chassis to help air move vertically through the main chamber for constant upwards airflow. The included bottom-mounted fans pull fresh air in from outside the case and channel it directly into the GPU above. As the air gets warmer it naturally rises and exits through the duct at the top of the case, and there’s 3x 120mm fan mounts in this location to assist with air movement as well. A 120mm fan can be mounted for rear exhaust via two “arms” in the accessory box but our testing shows most users won’t need a fan in this location, but it’s available to those who want it.
• Included Reverse-Rotor Fans – Reverse-rotor fans are included with the Air 5400 with 3x 120mm ARGB fans pre-installed in the bottom of the case to pull air in from outside the chassis and exhaust it up into the GPU. Fan options include PWM ARGB RS-R fans for those who prefer motherboard fan control or iCUE Link LX-R fans for those who want to experience the simplicity of iCUE Link single-cable connectivity (System Hub included). Both fan options provide an unobstructed view of the RGB lighting due to their reverse-rotor design while still providing powerful, quiet airflow.
• French Door Glass Side Panels – The exterior of the case features two glass panels that wrap around three sides of the case (front, side, rear) and open outwards from the corner, providing a panoramic view of your hardware and easy access to the case internals.
• Rapid-route 2.0 – The Air 5400 features Corsair’s second-generation cable management technology known as RapidRoute. This new version’s innovation is a pegboard motherboard tray with movable and modular ratcheting cable tie blocks. These blocks can be moved to any location, rotated, and expanded laterally to make cable management easier since you’re not constrained by fixed cable tie locations.
• Nylon Brush Chamber Dividers – We’ve replaced plastic grommets between the chambers for cable routing with nylon brushes for a cleaner look and more flexibility when managing cables between the chambers.
• CPU Cooling Exhaust Opening – One of the most distinguishing features of the AIR 5400 is the large opening on the right side of the case, which allows hot air coming out of an all-in-one liquid cooler to be exhausted immediately away from the case, as the wide opening and moulded ducts allow warm air to be quickly guided away from the chassis and nearby components.
• USB Type-C Top-Mounted I/O – The AIR 5400 has fully modern top-mounted I/O with three USB Type-C ports. The cable from the case connects to the USB 3.0 port on the motherboard, which splits off into two ports via a mux chip to dual USB 5Gb/s ports, and the high-speed USB Type-C connector powers the lone USB Type-C 20Gb/s for high-speed data transfers.

Testing

To put this case through its cooling paces we will be using a test system consisting of an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Palit RTX 5080 and an SSD. This system allows us to produce a substantial amount of heat and effectively test the Corsair Air 5400‘s cooling capabilities.

Cooling Performance Overview

Under load our CPU was drawing 129W and the graphics card 325W so this was a stiff test for the Air 5400. While an ultra-high end gaming PC might double those figures, we are confident our findings would apply to across the board. Once we moved the AIO cooler from the roof of the case to its correct location in the third chamber, we found the cooling of the Air 5400 was excellent. The case performed well with the three stock fans in the floor and there was no benefit adding more fans in the roof or the rear of the case.

Closing Thoughts

When we first saw the Corsair Air 5400 at Computex we had to wonder whether the triple-chamber design was a gimmick.

We have been clear for some time that it makes sense to separate the CPU cooler from the graphics card, and the approach taken by the Air 5400 is one of the best we have seen. What we particularly like is the simplicity of devoting the main chamber to the huge, expensive and power-hungry graphics card and removing the other hardware from the equation.

We helped the cause by using a Project Zero motherboard from MSI that kept most of the cables in the second compartment along with the power supply. This led to a clear separation between the graphics card and the CPU cooler and also added some visual impact to our finished PC. The downsides to the Air 5400 are clear as it is large, heavy and expensive but it is also very effective and delivers on Corsair's promises.

The Corsair Air 5400 LX-R has an MSRP of £284.99/$329.99.

Pros:

Over the many years and Seasons, we’ve seen Fortnite handle its crossovers in varying ways, with some being simple shop bundles; others being available in the Battle Pass; and some special collabs seeing unique power/abilities introduced in limited-time events alongside map POI alterations. As part of the upcoming Fortnite x The Simpsons crossover, the game’s Battle Royale map will reportedly be transformed into the entirety of Springfield.

Following initial leaks earlier this year, Epic Games all-but-confirmed a couple weeks ago that Fortnite would be crossing over with The Simpsons in an upcoming mini-Season.

While few details have been revealed so far, dataminers have seemingly discovered the full scope of the crossover, with Fortnite leakers ‘SpushFNBR’ and ‘NotPaloleaks’ taking to Twitter to state “The Simpsons season will have a FULL THEMED springfield map! One of the POIs is the Nuclear Plant.”

As mentioned, some previous crossovers have added a couple new points of interest to the map, with others even taking over a large portion of the playable area. That said, we have not seen a crossover introduce an entirely new map before.

Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that not only will pretty much all of Springfield be represented, but the map itself is reportedly fully cel-shadded. Of course, Fortnite has tinkered with cel-shading in the past for some of its character skins and crossovers, but changing the art style of the entire map itself is once again a first for Fortnite – suggesting that this is quite an all-encompassing crossover.

While a game like Fortnite can get away with it much easier than the likes of Call of Duty, having a Season as transformative as this – focused entirely on one series – could either work in or against Fortnite’s favour. We will have to wait and see how it is implemented, and how players react to the changes.

While the Pokémon series remains the highest grossing media franchise of all time, sentiment surrounding the franchise has fallen over the years, in particular when it comes to Game Freaks’ releases. With Pokémon Legends: Z-A officially available to purchase and play, we’ve gotten our first look at early sales data – revealing the title to have failed to surpass its predecessor.

As reported by TheGameBusiness’ Christopher Dring via Twitter, sales for the latest Pokémon Legends: Z-A in the UK have failed to match that of 2022’s Pokémon Legends: Arceus, writing:

“Pokémon Legends: Z-A is comfortably No.1 in the UK physical charts. Launch sales are 40% lower than Pokémon Legends: Arceus. 51% of sales were for the Switch 2 edition.”

Despite this, the game is clearly already a success, with Dring adding that “It’s the second biggest Switch 2 game of the year behind Mario Kart World,” meaning it managed to beat out the likes of Donkey Kong Bananza despite the latter being a Switch 2 exclusive.

Of course, we will have to wait for official figures from Nintendo before coming to conclusions, especially as the data above pertains only to physical sales in a single region. That said (as with most places in the world), Pokémon is a pretty big deal in the UK, and so it is interesting to see Z-A failing to hit the launch highs of Arceus, despite having a larger potential total player base.

Of course, Pokémon is still Pokémon, and so Z-A will likely wind up selling 10s of millions of copies when all is said and done. Still, a 40% drop compared to the last game in the ‘Legends’ series is worthy of note. It will be interesting to see how many units have sold globally and whether the recent budget leaks impacted its overall performance.

The Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is an ambitious reimagining of one of the most iconic JRPGs of all time, one which Square Enix has so far managed to do justice to. With the final chapter in the trilogy well into development now, FFVII’s director has confirmed that Rebirth was originally planned to get DLC – though they ultimately decided against it.

In an interview with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s director (conducted by the publication WCCFTech), Naoki Hamaguchi was asked about whether the second part of the trilogy would receive any more content, similar to that seen with FFVII Remake’s ‘Intergrade’ DLC. According to the director:

“There were definitely some ideas to create a Rebirth DLC and that was the plan at a certain point in time, but when we revisited this topic and we thought about what our priorities should be and what the fans are looking forward to the most. We figured that what fans want the most is to bring the third installment as soon as possible. That would take priority over the Rebirth DLC, so we decided to take that approach.”

That said, it appears as though DLC for the final entry in the trilogy could happen, with Hamaguchi adding “once we release the third installment, there is the possibility of having a DLC for that third installment. With the conclusion of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, there's probably going to be a much wider audience for Final Fantasy as a whole. Whether we bring another new DLC or a full title, that's something we are actively considering.”

Of course, Final Fantasy VII’s story is about more than just Cloud, with the title having received plenty of spin-offs, side stories and more over the years. As such, it will be interesting to see what Square Enix does with the final FFVII remake – and what their plans are after-the-fact.

Ever since the disappointing launch of Halo: Infinite, Microsoft and 343 Industries (now Halo Studios) have been laying somewhat dormant, with the biggest news arriving during last year’s Halo World Championships in the form of the UE5-developed ‘Project Foundry’. Ahead of this year’s championships, a Halo insider has claimed that two projects are currently in the works to be released next year.

Ahead of the upcoming Halo World Championships (where the team will officially reveal “what we’ve been working on”) Halo leaker Rebs Gaming released a video claiming that sources “informed me there is a separate new Halo multiplayer game” in the works alongside the previously-leaked Halo CE remake.

Expanding on this, Rebs described the project as a “live-service long-term updating multiplayer game” – with specific comparisons being made to Fortnite with regards to its “live service component”. That said, it is unknown whether the game will be a battle royale or not currently.

Alongside this, Rebs claimed that two separate Halo games are planned to arrive next year. Though not confirmed, these are likely to be the aforementioned CE remake and this leaked live-service title – though we will have to wait until the Halo World Championships later this week to find out officially.

Of course, while a live-service multiplayer Halo game could be great, the ill-fated Infinite was initially designed to be a 10-year experience, and so we will have to wait and see whether the team can handle a long-term live-service experience.
