Here’s What To Expect For Xbox Ally Roadmap Updates In The Months Ahead Following the worldwide launch of the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, Microsoft announced some interesting upcoming features for both of the initial models specifically, and for Windows 11 gaming PCs at large. Assetto Corsa is going off-road with Asetto Corsa Rally, built by DiRT and WRC veterans

19 octobre 2025 à 15:00

The Assetto Corsa physics engine is heading off-road. Publisher 505 Games has just announced Assetto Corsa Rally, a new, dedicated rally simulation developed by the newly formed Supernova Games Studios. This new team, comprised of industry veterans with experience on titles like DiRT Rally, WRC, and Project CARS, will bring the hardcore sim experience to the world of rally, leveraging Kunos's simulation technology.

Assetto Corsa Rally promises a pure simulation approach, aiming to capture the raw intensity of the sport. The game runs on an updated version of the Assetto Corsa physics engine, specifically adapted to model the unique challenges of rallying, including jumps, uneven terrain, and dynamically changing grip levels across both tarmac and gravel surfaces. This is complemented by dynamic day-night cycles and weather conditions that will directly impact traction and visibility. Visually, the team has customised Unreal Engine 5 to deliver high-fidelity graphics while maintaining performance, with both cars and stages being recreated using laser-scan technology.

The game will release initially in Early Access, including 10 fully licensed cars, ranging from classics like the Lancia Stratos Gr.4 to modern machinery like the Hyundai i20N Rally2. Players will get to tackle four special stages across two locations: the fast asphalt of Rally Alsace and the challenging gravel tracks of Rally Wales, totalling over 33 km of laser-scanned roads. Supernova is also putting a heavy focus on audio immersion, with engine, transmission, and environmental sounds sampled from real cars and locations. A detailed co-driver pacenote system, developed with professional co-drivers, aims to deliver maximum realism.

The developers plan for the Early Access period to last between 12 and 18 months. During this time, the game will be significantly expanded, with the final 1.0 version aiming to feature five international rallies (over 120 km of roads), more than 30 cars, a full Career Mode, a Rally School, and the much-requested VR support, which is confirmed to be coming during the Early Access phase. The game will launch into Steam Early Access on November 13th, 2025, priced at €29.99 / $29.99 / £24.99. Console versions will be considered at a later date.

KitGuru says: With the Rally game scene lacking big names since Codemasters was disbanded, the Asetto Corsa team has come right in time to salvage the hope of rally simulation fans.

Thermaltake reveals new View 380 XL WS and 170 WS PC cases

19 octobre 2025 à 14:15

Thermaltake is doubling down on the wood accent trend, adding two more cases to its ‘WS' (Wood Style) lineup. Following the recent debut of the S370 WS and View 270 Plus WS, the company has now unveiled wood-trimmed versions of its panoramic View 380 XL and the more compact View 170.

First up is the Thermaltake View 380 XL WS. This is a large panoramic mid-tower (471 x 288 x 469 mm) designed for showcase builds. Like its non-wood predecessor, it features a large wrap-around glass panel for an uninterrupted view. The ‘WS' version adds wood accents to the green, black, and white options, giving it a touch of class. Inside, the case offers ample room for high-end hardware, supporting E-ATX motherboards (including back-connect models), GPUs up to 420 mm long (with an included support bracket), and dual 360 mm radiators. Cooling is handled out of the box by four pre-installed 120 mm ARGB fans.

For those looking for a similar aesthetic in a smaller footprint, Thermaltake has also launched the View 170 WS. This microATX case retains the panoramic glass front and side but adds wooden bars to the bottom section for its ‘WS' flavour. It comes in black or white and includes three pre-installed 120mm fans, two of which are reverse-blade models for the side intake. Cooling support is more modest, topping out at a 240 mm radiator in the roof, and CPU cooler height is limited to 160 mm. The View 170 WS does not support back-connect motherboards.

The View 380 XL WS is priced at £129.90/$149.90 for the black version and £134.90/$149.90 for the white and green models. As for the View 170 WS, both colour options are priced at £59.90/$84.90/€84.90.

KitGuru says: Of the two new Thermaltake WS cases, which one did you like the most?

Quantic Dream is working on a free-to-play 3v3 magical battler named Spellcasters Chronicles

19 octobre 2025 à 13:30

Quantic Dream, the studio renowned for its cinematic, narrative-driven single-player games like Detroit: Become Human, has just announced its next project. And it couldn't be more different. The new game, Spellcasters Chronicles, is a free-to-play, 3v3 magical battler that sees the studio moving into the competitive multiplayer space.

Unlike the choice-based adventures the studio is known for, Spellcasters is a third-person action game with a strategic twist. Players will choose from a roster of Spellcasters with different archetypes, such as tanks and supports, and build a deck of moves from over 50 available spells and summons. Each team also chooses a massive “Titan” to act as a trump card, capable of turning the tide of battle in an instant. The gameplay is said to feature a high degree of mobility, with characters able to fly freely around the arena.

Players have become all too familiar with beloved single-player studios trying to chase the multiplayer trend, with recent high-profile examples like Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Remedy's FBC: Firebreak failing to stick the landing. Hopefully, the same won't happen with Quantic Dream and its new project.

Quantic Dream seems aware of this perception. Studio head David Cage acknowledged this in a blog post, stating the new title may surprise some, as it's “extremely different” from what the studio has done so far. The studio also insists that the game will stay true to its narrative roots, with a “shared, living world” and a “macro-loop” storytelling experience that will run alongside the core multiplayer battles. However, details on how this will work are still scarce.

The developers are planning a deep dive into the game at TwitchCon San Diego this weekend, with live gameplay and a developer Q&A. For those eager to try it for themselves, sign-ups for a closed beta on PC, which is scheduled to launch before the end of the year, are now open on the game's official website.

KitGuru says: Have you ever played any game from Quantic Dream? Would you like the studio to continue to do that kind of single-player experience they're known for?

Sharkoon expands Elite Shark lineup with airflow-focused CA500

19 octobre 2025 à 12:45

Sharkoon has today unveiled the latest addition to its Elite Shark case series, the CA500. Sharkoon's Elite Shark lineup is reserved for its high-end solutions, but without pushing the price too high. This new mid-tower chassis aims to stick to that motto, delivering a strong feature set without a punishing price tag.

Measuring 467 x 235 x 518 mm, the CA500 focuses heavily on airflow and showcases components through the curved tempered glass. Out of the box, it comes equipped with four fans: one rear exhaust and three side fans mounted next to the motherboard tray, likely configured as intakes. The case offers extensive cooling potential beyond this, with support for up to an additional three 120 mm or 140 mm fans in the roof. Alternatively, you can mount a 360 mm radiator on top and another on the side. Moreover, there's space at the bottom for a single 120 mm fan.

Internally, the CA500 offers plenty of room for high-end hardware, including rear-connector motherboards. There's clearance for graphics cards up to 437 mm long, CPU air coolers up to 176 mm tall, and power supplies up to 265 mm. Storage options are flexible, with mounts for up to six 2.5″ SSDs. Alternatively, users can utilise a removable drive cage located in front of the partial PSU shroud, which holds two 3.5″ HDDs (and potentially sacrifices some 2.5″ mounts).

Cable management looks to be well catered for, with plenty of routing space and rubber grommets on key cutouts. Sharkoon has also included a five-port fan hub to simplify connections for builders, adding extra cooling. Some retailers have already listed the new case, pricing it at around €150.

KitGuru says: The Elite Shark CA500 isn't cheap, but it offers compatibility for high-end liquid cooling and lots of airflow, making it ideal.

TeamGroup nears 15GB/s speed with new T-Force Z54E PCIe Gen5 SSD

19 octobre 2025 à 12:00

TeamGroup has unveiled its new flagship SSD, the T-Force Z54E, and it's gunning for the performance crown. This new M.2 drive is one of the first to feature Phison's new E28 controller, allowing it to push sequential read speeds right up to the theoretical limit of the PCIe 5.0 interface.

According to the specs, the T-Force Z54E is rated for sequential reads of up to a staggering 14.9 GB/s, nudging just past competitors like Samsung's 9100 PRO and Kingston's FURY Renegade G5. Sequential write speeds are equally impressive, hitting up to 14 GB/s on the larger capacity models. This performance comes courtesy of the combination of the new Phison E28 controller, built on TSMC's 6 nm node, and 232-layer 3D TLC NAND flash.

The drive will be available in 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB capacities. While the 2 TB and 4 TB models hit the peak 14.9 GB/s read and 14 GB/s write figures, the 1 TB version maintains the same scorching read speed but drops slightly to 13.7 GB/s for writes. As expected, the drive includes a DRAM cache for consistent performance.

Pushing nearly 15 GB/s inevitably generates a lot of heat. To combat this, TeamGroup has equipped the Z54E with its patented ultra-thin graphene heat sink. The company suggests this low-profile solution can be used on its own or in conjunction with a motherboard's M.2 heatsink or even a dedicated SSD cooler for maximum thermal dissipation.

KitGuru says: As you might expect, the Z54E won't come cheap. But according to its specs, if you do get it, at least you'll know you have the fastest PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD on the market.

Razer goes retro-future with new Phantom White transparent peripherals

17 octobre 2025 à 18:15

Following the launch of its all-translucent Phantom Collection (green translucent peripherals) earlier this year, Razer is now expanding the lineup with a clean and striking new colour option. The new Phantom White collection takes the same transparent design philosophy and applies it to a white finish, creating a retro-futuristic aesthetic inspired by vintage gaming hardware.

Razer says the internals of each device have been re-engineered and colour-matched to ensure a cohesive look through the transparent white chassis. The design aims to highlight the internal mechanisms of the hardware while also amplifying the effects of the integrated Razer Chroma RGB lighting.

The Phantom White treatment is being applied to a range of Razer's most popular peripherals. The lineup includes a Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K wireless mouse, a Razer BlackWidow V4 75% hot-swappable mechanical keyboard with translucent keycaps, and a Razer Barracuda X Chroma wireless headset. The world's first fully illuminated RGB mouse mat, the Razer Firefly V2 Pro, also gets a transparent white top layer to show off its circuitry. In a first for the Phantom line, the new colour option is also extending to mobile gaming with the Razer Kishi V3 Phantom White Edition.

The Phantom White collection products are slightly more expensive than their standard counterparts, though. Each costs £10/$10/€10 more, putting the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K Phantom White at £169.99/$169.99/€179.99, the Razer BlackWidow V4 75% Phantom White at £199.99/$199.99/€229.99, and the Razer Barracuda X Chroma Phantom White at £139.99/$139.99/€149.99. As for the Razer Firefly V2 Pro Phantom White, it costs £109.99/$109.99/€119.99, and the Razer Kishi V3 Phantom White costs £109.99/$109.99/€119.99.

Nintendo DS games may soon be playable on Switch consoles

17 octobre 2025 à 18:00

Nintendo has been expanding its list of emulators for Switch Online ever since launch. At this point, the service contains classic games from each Nintendo console up to the Game Boy Advance. Now, a new patent filing has seemingly revealed plans for the Nintendo DS to join the line-up.

The patents, first spotted by Mike Odyssey, show how Nintendo plans to handle dial-screen functionality on a Switch-like device. The implication here is that the Nintendo DS will join the list of emulated consoles supported on the Switch 2 console.

Nintendo hasn't announced anything officially yet and just because there is a patent doesn't mean there is a product. With that said, Nintendo will expand its Switch Online emulation offering at some point during the Switch 2's lifespan, and a trip back to the DS days could be a lot of fun.

There is no word on what games could be included here, but titles like The World Ends with You, Mario Kart DS, Brain Age, Professor Layton and the Curious Village and Ghost Trick could be a good place to start, offering a mix of familiar titles, with a few cult classics that some fans may have missed at the time.

KitGuru Says: What DS games would you like to see join the Switch Online library?

Datamine reveals six new game modes for Battlefield 6

17 octobre 2025 à 16:30

While the community has plenty of freedom to come up with its own game modes for Battlefield 6, that doesn't mean the developers don't have more official game modes up its sleeve. Datamining through the launch version of Battlefield 6 has revealed references to as many as six game modes not yet featured in the game.

Insider Gaming reports that references to six unannounced game modes have been found within the Battlefield 6 files. These modes include Raid, Payload, Sabotage, Squad Shootout, Strike Point and Tank Hunt.

Two of these modes, Strike Point and Sabotage, will be launching within the next month, as part of the season 1 content rollout for Battlefield 6. The other modes remain a mystery.

Aside from these modes mentioned here, it has been claimed that Battlefield Studios is also working on a dedicated naval combat mode.

Asus’s new Azoth 96 HE keyboard packs 8KHz wireless polling and magnetic switches

17 octobre 2025 à 10:00

Asus ROG has today expanded its Azoth keyboard family with a new, feature-packed model, the ROG Azoth 96 HE. This new board adopts a compact 96% layout and is loaded with the latest gaming features, including new magnetic switches, a true 8000 Hz polling rate, and an integrated full-colour touchscreen.

The new Azoth 96 HE features hot-swappable ROG HFX V2 magnetic switches. These switches, combined with a new ROG Hall sensor, allow for a highly customisable actuation point, adjustable from 0.1 mm to 3.5 mm. This also enables support for a Rapid Trigger function, giving gamers a significant competitive advantage in fast-paced titles.

The keyboard boasts an 8000 Hz polling rate in both wired and ROG SpeedNova 8K wireless modes, a feature that previously required a special booster dongle on other ROG keyboards. It also offers standard Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to pair with up to five devices simultaneously. For on-the-fly control, the Azoth 96 HE features a 1.47-inch OLED touchscreen and a three-way control knob, both from the flagship Azoth Extreme. This allows users to adjust settings like the actuation point and trigger sensitivity directly on the board, without needing to open any software mid-game.

The keyboard also features a premium build with a metal top cover, gasket mount structure, and a full six-layer sound-dampening system with multiple layers of PORON foam and silicone to provide a cushioned and refined typing sound. Lastly, Asus has even included some transparent ROG-branded keycaps in the box for an extra touch of customisation.

KitGuru says: Asus has not shared pricing information but given that the cheapest Azoth keyboard goes for more than £200, the ROG Azoth 96 HE won't certainly come cheap.
