Pristine First Edition Copy of Superman No. 1 Found in Attic Goes for $9.12 Million at Auction, Becomes Most Expensive Comic Ever Sold

21 novembre 2025 à 08:43

An 86-year-old Superman comic found in a family attic has sold for a whopping $9.12 million at auction.

The 1939 first-edition copy of Superman No. 1 earned the highest CGC grade for the Man of Steel’s title comic debut, and became the most expensive comic ever sold when it went for over $9 million at a Heritage auction held this week.

Superman No. 1 is, alongside Action Comics No. 1 and Detective Comics No. 27, considered one of the “big three” comics. It marked the first time a character that debuted in a comic book had their own title devoted entirely to them. 500,000 copies of Superman No. 1 were initially printed, followed by print runs of 250,000 and then 150,000, but intact copies are rare today in part because it encouraged readers to cut the cover off to use as a poster.

This highest-ever-graded copy of Superman No. 1 was being protected by only a stack of old newspapers in a cardboard box, but still managed to earn a 9.0 on a 10-point scale by third-party comics grading service CGC. The $9.12 million price smashed the previous comic value record, set by an 8.5-graded copy of Action Comics No. 1 that sold for $6 million through Heritage Auctions in 2024.

This copy is one of only seven known with a CGC grade of 6.0 or higher. It tops esteemed pedigreed copies including the Mile High and Davis Crippen copies and is one of fewer than 100 copies of this issue in any grade, including restored examples, that Heritage has ever offered.

The copy that sold on Thursday was found last year under a stack of old newspapers in a cardboard box by three unnamed brothers in northern California while they were going through their late mother’s attic. Their mother had bought the comic when she was nine years old and living in San Francisco, the brothers, who have asked not to be named, said. Over the years, she told her sons that she had “rare comics somewhere,” but they never found them.

“This new record may someday be remembered as an early stage of popular culture collecting’s trajectory into the upper reaches of the auction field,” commented Jim Halperin, Co-Founder of Heritage Auctions. “The value and historical importance of these objects are becoming even more well-known to collectors all over the world.”

Paramount Reportedly Wants to 'Sonic-Fy' the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Franchise, R-Rated The Last Ronin Film Ditched in Favor of New Live-Action Reboot Movie

21 novembre 2025 à 07:57

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are reportedly in for some shell shock of their own, with Paramount planning a live-action movie reboot series inspired by the Sonic film franchise.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Paramount has ditched the R-rated The Last Ronin, a live-action / animation hybrid (although it could return to it one day), and will now instead focus on a live-action movie. The sequel to Mutant Mayhem is still due out September 17, 2027.

First released back in 2020, The Last Ronin features a dystopian world in which all but one of the Turtles have perished, drawing inspiration from God of War among other works. It written by original creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, who said it was based on an outline from a story in 1987.

The Last Ronin was a big success for the Turtles, earning the story a sequel featuring a new generation of turtles. A Last Ronin video game is also in development, although we haven't had an update on it for some time.

The last live-action or live-action / animation hybrid Turtles movie was 2016’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which flopped at the box office. Successful animated Turtles movies, including 2023’s Mutant Mayhem, followed.

Paramount has reportedly drafted in Neal H. Moritz, the producer of The Fast and the Furious and Sonic movie franchises, to lead this new Turtles charge in a bid to “fully unlock its potential,” THR said.

Given the success of the Sonic films, you can see why Paramount would want to get the producer responsible to repeat the trick with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In January, Paramount hailed the success of the Sonic movie franchise after Sonic the Hedgehog 3 helped it pass $1 billion at the global box office. 2024’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which stars Keanu Reeves as Shadow, made nearly half a billion dollars during its theatrical run.

It feels like early days for this new era of Turtles films, and there’s no indication when the first movie will come out.

The Sonos Black Friday Sale Starts Early, Save up to 30% Off Soundbars, Speakers, and Headphones

21 novembre 2025 à 06:05

It's finally here. The much-anticipated official Sonos Black Friday Sale has just gone live several days ahead of November 28. Sonos hosts several promotional events throughout the year, but none of them hold a candle to the discounts we see during Black Friday. This time around, Sonos' most popular product are on sale, including its flagship Arc Ultra soundbar and the versatile Era 300 speaker. Sonos also offers free shipping a 12-month warranty on all of its products.

Save up to 30% off during the Sonos Black Friday Sale

Read on below for our favorite deals during this Black Friday sale.

Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar

The Arc Ultra is Sonos' best soundbar speaker, replacing last year's Arc model. It is a massive 46" soundbar that houses 14 total speakers, including five tweeters (plus two upward-firing speakers for Dolby Atmos supported height channels), six midwoofers, and a four-motor, dual-membrane Sound Motion woofer. The Arc Ultra uses AI enhancement technology to isolate and boost the clarity of dialogue and voices. It also has a built-in microphone so that it can be controlled using voice commands from the Sonos app or your favorite smart assistant. Check out our own Sonos Arc Ultra review.

Sonos Arc Soundbar (Refurbished)

The Arc is still an outstanding soundbar even after the release of the Arc Ultra, and at $399 it's certainly a much better value. The refurbished model gets the same 1 year warranty as buying new. The 45" soundbar houses eleven precisely engineered internal speakers, including two dedicated height channels. It's Dolby Atmos ready, and the Class-D amps provide enough power that you can probably get away without a subwoofer (although you'd still benefit from one).

Sonos Era 100 Smart Speaker

The Sonos Era 100 is a compact powered speaker that pumps out great sound for its small footprint. Unlike the Sonos Move, this is not a portable speaker with a built-in battery, so you'll need to leave it plugged in. Sound quality is equivalent to a Sonos Move, which isn't surprising considering they have similar internal components: two tweeters, a mid-woofer, and three class-D digital amps. It has a built-in microphone for smart assistant functionality.

Sonos Era 300 Smart Speaker

The Era 300 is a much bigger, better sounding version of the Era 100. It's nearly double the size and weight. The Era 300 is also shaped differently, but there's a reason for that. The hourglass figure is designed to optimally arrange the six speakers so that they fire sound in all directions, enhancing Dolby Atmos and spatial audio effects. The Era 300 consist of four tweeters and two woofers paired with Class-D digital amplifiers and custom waveguides to help project sound to all corners of your room. It also has a built-in microphone for smart assistant compatibility.

Sonos Sub 4 Subwoofer

If you want to add ground-shaking bass to your Sonos setup, there's still nothing better than a separate standalone subwoofer. The Sub 4 boasts plenty of power in the form of dual inward-facing 5"x8" woofers and a ported design that allows for a louder and deeper low-end. It simply can't be emulated by a standard bookshelf speaker or soundbar alone.

Sonos Mini Subwoofer

If you are space constrained, consider the Sub Mini instead. Despite its compact size, the Sub Mini can still powerful room-filling bass by way of two inward-facing 6" drivers contained in a sealed (non-ported) enclosure. It features wireless connectivity so you can avoid the hassle of routing a cable back to the rest of your home theater components.

Sonos Beam (Gen 2) Soundbar

The Sonos Beam is a smaller, less expensive alternatives to the Arc. The Beam (Gen 2) is a 26-inch long, 5.0-channel soundbar with one tweeter and four mid-woofers for natural, balanced sound and four passive radiators to help with the low end. Although the Beam doesn't have physical height channels, it has two virtual height channels for Dolby Atmos support. There's also a built-in microphone for smart functionality.

Sonos Move 2 Portable Speaker

The Move 2 is Sonos' biggest and best portable speaker. It's size allows it to house two tweeters, a mid-woofer, and three class-D digital amplifiers. This is a standalone speaker with a self-contained battery and can be carried around from room to room. The battery provides up to 24 hours of continuous playtime and a simple but effective docking station essentially turns it into a powered speaker. It is IP56 rated for weather resistance and has a built-in microphone so that it can accept voice commands and is compatible with smart assistants.

Sonos Roam 2 Portable Speaker

The Roam 2 is Sonos' most compact and travel-friendly portable speaker. It weighs in at under one pound and is designed for both indoor and outdoor use thanks to an IP67-rated waterproof and dustproof housing. It houses one tweeter, one mid-woofer, and two class-H digital amplifers, so it's still able to pump out inpressively clean sound even at high volumes. The internal battery supplies the Roam 2 with nearly 10 hours of playtime, and it can be recharged over USB Type-C. It supports both Bluetooth and wireless connectivity and has a built-in microphone for voice control.

Sonos Ace Headphones

The Sonos Ace is a premium wireless headphone featuring Dolby Atmos spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, lossless audio streaming over Bluetooth, effective active noise cancellation thanks to eight optimally positioned microphones (plus Aware mode), custom designed 40mm dynamic drivers for accurate, distortion-free audio, a mix of plush memory foam and vegan leather for all-day comfort, and a stainless steel headband skeleton for durability. The battery lasts for up to 30 hours with ANC enabled and can be recharged over USB Type-C.

Why Sonos?

If you're looking for an easy solution to add great sound to your home, then you've probably already heard of Sonos. Sonos speakers are very easy to set up, don't take a large amount of space, and most importantly, offer distortion-free room-filling audio. They're definitely pricier than budget options, but the sound quality is comparable to speakers that cost hundreds more or take up much more space.

Early Black Friday Deals: The Coolest Xbox Controllers are on Sale, and Amazon is Going Head-To-Head With Best Buy

21 novembre 2025 à 06:00

Early Black Friday deals are in full force at Amazon and Best Buy today, but where to begin? Well Xbox Controllers are on sale in most flavors across the big box retailers, including the Sky Cypher clear controller that sets off my Gameboy Pocket and Color nostalgia off something chronic. There's plenty of gaming deals to choose from too, such as FC 26 going for $29.99 on PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox.

TL;DR: Deals for Today

There's two Meta Quest 3S deals going too, same price of $249.99 but one comes with The Walking Dead at Best Buy and the other comes with Cardboard Heroes, which is locked to Amazon. The biggest deal for me today is The Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Trilogy box set. It's got the theatrical and extended cuts in 4K for just north of $15 off, yes please! Let's get straight into today's early Black Friday deals:

Nintendo Switch 2 (Import) with Mario Kart World for $436

If you still haven't yet picked up a Nintendo Switch 2 because it's too expensive, there is an opportunity to get one at a discounted price. AliExpress is offering a Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World console bundle for just $435.87 (normally $500) after you apply a $100 off coupon code "AEUS100" during checkout. It ships free locally from the United States (which means no tariffs and no obnoxiously long wait times). Note that the console is a Hong Kong import. All international Switch consoles are region unlocked, meaning they can be used in the US without any problems.

Xbox Controller Deals

If you're not looking at getting the Sky Cipher or any of the Breaker series controllers, we can't be friends. These are all usually over $70, so this is a cracking time to pick one or all of them up for your collection. The standard Carbon Black and Robot White controllers are available too for $15 less, but where's the fun in that?

Best Buy Early Black Friday Deals

FFVII-Rebirth for $29.99? Say less. That's a banging early Black Friday deal, not to mention Silent Hill f avoiding the new game tax at $49.99 instead of $69.99. Deals aren't just locked to PlayStation 5 either, with Battlefield 6 being available on Xbox Series X too. By the way, this is the better Meta Quest 3S bundle, but that's just my opinion. Which is correct. Sorry not sorry.

Amazon Early Black Friday Deals

Beats Studio Pro for $169.99, game over. That's a lovely $30 saving, but Sony WH-10000XM6 is over $60 off. They feature best-in-class noise cancelation and are all around beasts, but they're more than double the price of Beats Studio Pro, so it all depends on your budget. Either will work great with the ridiculous deal that is the Nvidia RTX 5060-powered DyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme pre-built gaming PC for under $800. Granted, it's not the most powerfull DLSS 4-enabled GPU, but it has it, which means 1080p gaming with decent frame rates is well within reach.

Prismatic Evolution Figurine Collection

Missed out on preorders? Well multiple retailers will be selling the Prismatic Evolution Figurine Collection out of the gate. Here are the details on when I think they'll be on sale and where:

Black Friday Arzopa Portable Monitor Deals at AliExpress

A portable USB monitor has many practical uses, such as a secondary display for your laptop or a travel-friendly screen for your Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck handheld gaming PC. Ahead of Black Friday, Arzopa is hosting some big markdowns on its popular lineup of portable USB monitors via its official AliExpress storefront. Combined with some general AliExpress coupon codes, these deals are the lowest prices I've seen all year long. All of the portable monitors listed ship free from the United States, which means you don't have to worry about tariffs or long shipping times.

Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender Collector Booster Box

The price on this has already dropped by nearly $100 to $455.88 compared to yesterday, so now is a better time than ever to get your preorder locked in. Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the best things Nickelodeon put out when I was a kid, and its fandom still beats strong. This Universes Beyond MTG set hasn't only got me back into Avatar, but it's got me on MTG Arena to learn the game, not just collect it when I can. Collector Boosters aren't for playing, it's for those who want some solid binder material with far better pull rates than standard play boosters. There's a premium for that of course, but Amazon won't charge until it ships, which means you'll probably have a day or two to get the money you need together.

Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition

For Final Fantasy fans who haven't played the 2D old school games, or for those who are fans of the sprite-based RPG vibe, this is the deal for you. It features a re-arranged soundtrack by original series composer Nobuo Uematsu, improved gamplay, a user interface overhaul, auto battle options and more quality of life improvements. 47% off makes this collection a no-brainer.

Dragon Quest HD-2D Remakes

Dragon Quest I, II and III HD-2D remakes are all out now on Nintendo Switch, with I and II also out on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo Switch titles can be played on Nintendo Switch 2 if you want the full game on-cart rather than a game-key card, which requires a sizable content download to play. Of course you'll miss out on graphical fidelity and other upgrades.

JVSCAM 130,000RPM Cordless Electric Air Duster with Adjustable Tips

I love my cordless electric air duster, it comes in so handy for my desk and gaming rig, with the added attachments turning it inot a mini vacuum cleaner or duster. Ditch the cans of compressed air when cleaning out your keyboard and get one of these bad boys, you won't regret it for under $20.

AstroAI P10 Car Battery Jump Starter

Unless you've been stuck with a dead battery waiting for your breakdown cover to pick you up, you have no idea how handy these things are. They fit right in the trunk of the car, ready to save the day when you've left your headlamps on at night or need a bit of juice to get you to your local mechanic. With $50 off, this is something everyone should have in their diesel and gas cars.

Up to 50% off Pokémon TCG and Free $60 Gift Card

Imagine getting Pokémon TCG Booster Bundles for free, or paying $20 to $30 for an Elite Trainer Box, cool right? Well it's a real deal, and here's how to do it. Start by applying for a Amazon Visa card, then if accepted you'll get an instant $60 Amazon gift card added to your account, which means free Booster Bundles, Premium Collections and Booster Blisters.

If you're after something more expensive and want to knock the price down before using the $60 gift voucher, you'll need an AMEX or Discovery card. By paying $1 on your Pokémon TCG items in your basket, you'll receive an automatic discount up to 50%. So whatever you need to pay after the gift card is cut in half. That's not bad when you're talking Elite Trainer Boxes and Booster Boxes. If this discount doesn't apply, check the loyalty page on Amazon to see if you're eligible.

TCGPlayer 10% Cashback Black Friday Event

You read that right, everything is eligibe too. Buy something, get 10% back as in-store credit. With sets like Mega Evolution and Phantasmal Flames finding new floors, this is 100% the best time to fill those gaps in your binder. The sale kicks off on Black Friday, November 28. and ends on Cyber Monday December 1.

Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra Resin 3D Printer Deals

The Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra line of Resin printers are perfect for anything that needs intricate detail, especially the 16k model, although the standard ultra does an amazing job too. The Saturn 4 Ultra and Mercury V3.0 wash is a perfect starter kit for anyone wanting to get into the hobby.

Elegoo FDM Printer Deals

What if I said I printed a full sized Stormtrooper helmet on a Neptune 4 Max in one go? It was such a fun project and this printer can handle some insane projects on the large and small side. In fact all of these FDM 3D printers are great for printing anything practical. I'm looking at you cosplayers.

Meta Quest 3S 128GB (Gorilla Tag Bundle)

$50 off a Quest 3S isn't a bad deal to say the least, and you also get the "Cardboard Hero: Gorilla Tag" game bundled alongside a three month trial to Meta Quest Horizon+, which means free access to over 40 games. You can also upgrade to the 256GB version and get Batman: Arkham Shadow bundled in instead for $329 instead of $399.99. Now that's an early Black Friday deal.

TMNT: The Last Ronin Box Set

This set contains three hardcover graphics novels encompassing the TMNT: The Last Ronin continuity. That includes "Lost Years", "The Last Ronin", and "The Last Ronin II: Re-Evolution". I won't spoil them for you, but this is one of the best series i've ever read, and I'm not a massive TMNT fan. And you won't be charged for your preorder until this bad boy ships. Not a bad deal at all with that cheeky 25% off.

Save $1,000 off the Razer Blade 14 RTX 5070 Ultra-Thin, Ultra-Portable Gaming Laptop for Black Friday

21 novembre 2025 à 03:30

One of the nicest ultra-thin gaming laptops has a big price drop ahead of Black Friday. Amazon is currently offering the 2025 Razer Blade 14 - equipped with a 14" OLED display, the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 CPU, and a GeForce RTX 5070 GPU - for just $1,699.99 with free shipping. This system normally retails for $2,699.99. It dropped to $1,800 earlier this month, but patient deal hunters can now get it for $100 less.

Razer Blade laptops are well known for their impeccable build quality. The chassis is built from a single piece of aluminum and is designed to be exceptionally thin and light for a gaming laptop. In order to get away with the svelte form factor, Razer employs its own proprietary cooling design, which incorporates a vacuum-sealed, liquid-filled, copper vapor chamber to effectively whisk away the heat. Much like Apple MacBook Pros, a lot of engineering goes into a Razer Blade laptop, which is why they command a premium price compared to other mainstream brands.

Get the 2025 Razer Blade 14 RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop for $1,699.99

The 2025 Razer Blade 14 is a svelte little thing, measuring only 0.6" thin and weighing in at 3.6 pounds. It features a gorgeous 14" 2880x1800 OLED display with a "razor" sharp 264ppi pixel density and 120Hz refresh rate. The AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 is a power efficient yet capable gaming and workstation mobile chip with an onboard XDNA 2 NPU for AI applications. It's paired with 32GB of blistering fast DDR5-8000MHz LPDDR5X RAM and a swappable 1TB SSD.

The GeForce RTX 5070 is 5%-10% better than the RTX 4070

The Razer Blade 14 cannot be equipped with a more powerful GPU than the 5070, so you're getting the maximum power that this small form factor allows. The GeForce RTX 5070 mobile graphics has a maximum TGP rating of 115W, which means it isn't a throttled version like you'll find in most other "ultra-portable" gaming laptops. It performs about 5%-10% better than the RTX 4070 that it replaces and can run most games in the native QHD+ resolution. Many newer and more demanding games support DLSS 4.0, which significantly boosts peformance for any laptop with an RTX 50 series GPU.

Pluribus Episode 4 Review - ‘Please, Carol’

21 novembre 2025 à 03:00

Full spoilers follow for Pluribus Episode 4, “Please, Carol,” which is available now on Apple TV.

And so enters Manousos Oviedo!

We’ve heard about the gentleman from Paraguay before, this manager of a storage facility, the outlier among the non-infected who wants nothing to do with the Joined. And we also literally heard him last week, when he wound up in a shouting match on the phone with Rhea Seehorn’s Carol.

But now Pluribus’ fourth episode kicks off with another jaunt across the globe as we meet the character in person. Played by Carlos-Manuel Vesga, Manousos has approached this whole psychic-glue situation in a much more old-school, Charlton-Heston-in-The-Omega-Man way than the rest of those who have been unaffected by the virus. Holed up in his storage facility office, with the windows covered over as he methodically checks each radio frequency on his ham radio for any signs of, presumably, normal human existence, Manousos is even more suspicious of the Joined than Carol is.

He’s also going to starve to death if he doesn’t figure out a better plan. Those sweetener packets and coffee creamers aren’t going to last forever, let alone the dog food, but fortunately this mini-flashback to his conversation with Carol shows that he now has a ray of hope. (It’s also a lot of fun to actually see some of their chat translated this time around.) Yeah, Manousos and Carol are going to hit it off famously… eventually.

Back in Albuquerque, Carol takes to driving a police car – because it was there, because why not? – as she heads home from the hospital where Zosia (Karolina Wydra) is recovering from that unfortunate hand grenade business from last episode. Upon arriving at her house, she finds a whole crew repairing the damage from that incident, including the mayor and the best guest player of the week, Somebody Somewhere's Jeff Hiller, who plays Larry, aka Shorty.

Manousos has approached this whole psychic-glue situation in a much more old-school, Charlton-Heston-in-The-Omega-Man way.

Larry/Shorty had many friends before the Joining! And it’s no surprise, because when Carol uses him for a bit of an experiment in determining the Joined’s ability to lie, or not as the case may be, he’s just so nice and sweet and lovable. Carol’s books are as wonderful as Shaksespeare, he says! It’s not a lie, because a small but not insignificant portion of the population actually believes that. But when asked what Helen thought of Carol’s work… well, there’s no getting around that either. Her unpublished novel, Bitter Chrysalis? It was “fine,” Helen thought. Of course, she only got to page 137, paragraph three of it anyway.

Putting aside how the Joined continue to mess with the memory of Helen and, frankly, what should still be a period of mourning for Carol, this entire interlude does prove that they can’t lie. And later in the episode, this discovery leads to Carol messing up poor Zosia even worse than she did last week with the hand grenade. She’s really putting the Pirate Lady through the ringer.

About Zosia, yes, she’s part of an alien-influenced, worldwide cabal that has upended humankind and is determined to turn Carol into one of them. And yet! I still feel so bad for Zosia here. First it’s the way Carol drills into her about whether or not there’s a way to undo or reverse the Joining (apparently there is), and then how she, you know, drugs Zosia and causes her to go into freaking cardiac arrest. The Joined, the whole mass of them – I guess the whole planet’s worth? – are so pathetic in that scene as they cry in unison, powerless under Carol’s questioning.

That said, Carol’s story about the conversion therapy horror that her mother put her through at the Freedom Falls camp is pretty harrowing, and it’s pretty chilling when she points out that the always-smiling counselors there remind her of the always-smiling Joined. But then Zosia’s logic is at the very least compelling when she points out that while all the Joined know what it’s like to not be “alone” like Carol, Carol has no idea what it’s like to be one of the Joined. Maybe it’s not so bad?

Eh, screw that. In the spirit of Charlton Heston and each ever-loving mutant zombie he fought, every talking ape whose clutches he clawed his way out of, and every Soylent Green-ridden dystopia he sought to expose, Carol is a survivor and a fighter, and just as that conversion therapy camp couldn’t beat her, I have a feeling the Joined are in for the fight of their lives too.

And she hasn’t even met Manousos Oviedo yet!

Questions and Notes From Kepler-22b

  • How was the heroin?
  • Who else was yelling at the screen “Don’t lick the underside of that tin can top where the fly was buzzing around”!?
  • Does the internet work anymore in this world? I mean, I guess the Joined are sort of their own Internet now. But what about for Carol and the rest of the non-infected?
  • Seeing that note Manousos left for his (former) clientele, I couldn’t help but wonder if he does not fully grasp what has happened with the Joined. Or is he just being really optimistic that they’re all going to snap out of it?
  • “F#@$ your mother, @$hole!”

Amazon Has the New Kindle Colorsoft At Its Lowest Price Ever and Its Perfect for Reading Comics

21 novembre 2025 à 02:20

As part of Amazon's official Black Friday sale, you can pick up the new 16GB Kindle Colorsoft tablet at an absolute bargain. It's currently at a new lower price, making it the most affordable than ever. It's down to $169.99, saving you $80 off its original listed price of $250. This newer model of the popular Kindle Colorsoft just released earlier this year, so if you've been eyeing one for easy reading, now's the perfect time to grab one at a discount before the holidays.

The 16GB Kindle Colorsoft Is On Sale Now

The Kindle Colorsoft is one of the best ways to read comics and save space on your bookshelf. The 7-inch high-contrast display doesn't strain your eyes too badly, so reading for extended sessions is fairly comfortable. You can highlight sections of your book or graphic novel using various colors, and its optimized screen for reading in color helps panels pop. A single charge can last up to eight weeks, and its adjustable display settings allows you to read in dark or bright settings with ease.

Digital comics are a great alternative to physical comics, as compendiums and omnibuses are typically some of the largest books around. With a Kindle Unlimited subscription, you'll have thousands of comics, manga, and other graphic novels available to you at the press of a finger. Check out our Kindle Unlimited subscription guide to figure out which tier makes the most sense for you. There are also plenty of other ways to read free comics online if you're not interested in a subscription service.

The Best Kindles at Amazon

We haven't quite seen Kindles drop this far in price since July's Prime Day, but it looks like Amazon is offering even better deals for Black Friday 2025. Compared to the Kindle Colorsoft, regular Kindle tablets are optimized for black and white reading, so it's generally recommended to leave comics and magazines to the Colorsoft. You can also pick from thousands of books if you decide to sign up for Kindle Unlimited subscription, so no matter which Kindle option you go for, the library of available books is endless. Nvidia 50-Series GPUs Are Getting Major Price Cuts for Black Friday, But They're Selling Out Quickly

21 novembre 2025 à 02:10

For those of you who have been patiently waiting for prices to drop before upgrading your graphics card, now is finally the time to take action. Walmart has slashed prices on the most popular Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs, including the RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5070, and RTX 5060 Ti (16GB). These cards cover the gamut from budget 1080p to high-fps 4K gaming. I don't know whether or not the inventory will hold over until Black Friday, however a couple of these deals were previously price matched at Amazon and they have already sold out over there already.

PNY GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GPU for $699

Recommended for 4K gaming

Of all the Blackwell cards released thus far, the RTX 5070 Ti offers the best value for high-resolution gaming. This GPU is fully capable of running games in 4K at high framerates. It performs neck-and-neck with the RTX 4080 Super and marginalizes the RTX 5080, which is only about 10%-15% faster but costs 33% more. Like all Blackwell cards, the RTX 5070 Ti supports DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation. If you plan on using this card for AI, the RTX 5070 Ti may be a better value since it has the same amount of VRAM as the RTX 5080. Check out our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti review.

PNY GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GPU for $489

Recommended for 1440p gaming

Compared to the previous generation GPUs, the RTX 5070 performs comparably with the RTX 4070 Super. We wish there was a bigger generation improvement in raw performance, but the RTX 4070 Super was already an excellent card for 1080p and 1440p gaming and the difference in framerates widens considerably in games that support DLSS 4. In any case, the RTX 4070 Super GPU has since been discontinued and is only readily available in the used market. Check out our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 review.

MSI GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPU for $369

Recommended for 1080p gaming

The RTX 5060 Ti is an excellent GPU for 1080p gaming. It outperforms the RTX 4060 Ti by about 20% and the RTX 3060 Ti by 40%. The RTX 5060 Ti also benefits from Nvidia's new DLSS 4 technology as well as newer GDDR7 video memory. There are two RTX 5060 Ti variants floating around with the only difference being the amount of VRAM, either 8GB or 16GB. This deal is for the 16GB model. According to our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti review, the amount of VRAM makes a huge difference. We recommend the 16GB model because it can run just about any game out there comfortably at 1080p and can even handle 1440p with adjusted settings. The 8GB model, however, struggles even at 1080p and don't even think about running games at a higher resolution. For under $400, there's no better GPU right now.

The Grave of the Fireflies Steelbook Has Hit a New All-Time Low Price in Amazon’s Black Friday Sale

21 novembre 2025 à 01:30

Welcome to Black Friday season, where every retailer on the planet drops “groundbreaking deals” and tasks you with figuring out whether they’re actually any good. One of the big ones, Amazon’s Black Friday sale, has already gone live, and it happens to include a solid spread of deals on anime Blu-rays. While the sale largely includes full series or individual seasons, there are a couple of standout movies in there, including a new all-time low price on one of the best Studio Ghibli movies, Grave of the Fireflies.

Grave of the Fireflies Steelbook Drops to New All-Time Low Price

Despite being one of the first movies Studio Ghibli produced, Grave of the Fireflies is the most recent movie from the studio to get a steelbook edition. The steelbook was originally released on July 8, 2025 at a price of $26.98. Since then, a number of deals have lowered Amazon’s ‘typical price’ to $17.89. A Black Friday discount has dropped that typical price even further, to a new all-time low at just $14.49.

IGN’s own Peer Schneider reviewed Grave of the Fireflies when it originally came to DVD in North America back in 2002. He describes how “Takahata tells this story masterfully and with plenty of pathos, without drowning the plot in too many tear jerking moments. But make no mistake about it; this is a sad, sad movie.” To hammer down that last point, the movie also takes top spot on IGN’s list of the best sad anime. Take that as you will.

The Grave of the Fireflies steelbook has a distinct look from the rest of the Studio Ghibli collection, featuring a full spread of a scene on its cover instead of flat background with a minimalist icon. It also comes with a spread of bonus features, including feature-length storyboards and an interview with the director, Isao Takahata. It’s an essential addition to any Studio Ghibli collection and could make a great holiday gift for the weeb in your life.

Should You Wait Until the Real Black Friday?

I don’t see this steelbook going any lower closer to Black Friday. If anything, it could go back up in price (yes, Black Friday is a ridiculous concept). On the other hand, I would definitely expect better discounts on the rest of the Studio Ghibli steelbook collection closer to the big day itself. You can check out our full breakdown of Black Friday 2025 for more details about whats sales are still coming down the pipeline.

This Premium 34" Alienware QD OLED Gaming Monitor Drops to Under $500 for Black Friday

21 novembre 2025 à 01:20

Black Friday kicks off with a bang thanks to one of the best deals I've seen for an OLED monitor. Dell just dropped the price on the venerable 34" Alienware AW3423DWF QD-OLED gaming monitor from $900 to just $499.99 shipped. This is one of Alienware's highest end gaming monitors, with a gorgeous QD OLED panel, WQHD resolution, and a respectable 165Hz refresh rate. Best of all, Alienware OLED monitors include a 3 year warranty that includes OLED burn-in protection.

34" Alienware AW3423DWF QD OLED Gaming Monitor

The Alienware AW3423DWF is a 34" monitor featuring a 3440x1440 WQHD resolution with 1800R curve, 0.03ms response time, and 165Hz refresh rate. This monitor is equipped with a Samsung quantum dot OLED panel. This is the best type of panel for gaming thanks to its near instantaneous response time, true black levels, and near-infinite contrast ratio. The AW3423DWF features a 99.3% DCI-P3 color range and is factory calibrated with a Delta E less than 2. It is HDR True Black 400 certified and boasts up to 1,000nits of peak brightness.

In our Alienware AW3423DWF review, Chris Coke compared it to its more expensive predecessor, the AW3423DW. He wrote that "Though $1,099 (its MSRP) is far from cheap, the Alienware AW3423DWF feels like a great value compared to the original. It offers the same stunning picture, and dropping G-Sync Ultimate really makes no noticeable difference in actual gameplay. What’s left is a monitor that is extremely similar for $200 less than it was earlier this year. That’s a win and an easy recommendation to make if you’re in the market for a high-end display with a spectacular picture."

The newer 32" Alienware AW3225QF 4K OLED monitor is also on sale

If you've got a powerful enough gaming PC to run games in 4K at high framerates, then you might want to future-proof your setup with one of the best OLED gaming monitors available. The Alienware AW3225QF was first announced during CES 2024 and is Dell's one of few OLED monitors that combine a 4K resolution with an OLED panel. It also has a higher 240Hz refresh rate and official G-Sync certification.

Something to keep in mind is that 4K monitors require a pretty powerful GPU. 4K resolution has 2.25 times more pixels than QHD; if you want to play games in 4K, especially at frame rates of up to 240fps, you'll want a gaming PC equipped with an GeForce RTX 5070 at the minimum. If your PC is equipped with an even more powerful card like the RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, or RX 9070 XT, then this monitor would be the perfect complement.

The Beats Studio Pro Wireless Noise Canceling Headphone Drops Below $140 for Black Friday

21 novembre 2025 à 00:30

As part of a limited time Black Friday Lighting deal promotion, Amazon is offering the lowest price I've ever seen on Beats' flagship headphone. Don't miss this opportunity to score a brand new pair of Beats Studio Pro wireless noise canceling headphons for just $139.99 with free shipping. The caveat is that only the "Matte White" colorway is available at this price. The other colors are also on sale, but their discounted prices range between $150 and $170.

Beats Studio Pro Headphones for $139.99

Beats is owned by Apple, and the Studio Pro is marketed towards people like myself who want a quality over-ear wireless noise canceling headphone but also don't want to spend $400 plus on the AirPods Max. The Studio Pro offers better audio quality than any other Beats headphone, and excellent active noise cancelation. It carries over a lot of Apple's trademark features like spatial audio with head tracking, one touch pairing, and "Find My" functionality. It also has a Transparency mode so you can listen to the environment around you without removing your headphones.

The Beats Studio Pro has a USB Type-C port for charging. If you want to use the Beats Studio Pro in wired mode, then can connect via 3.5mm audio jack or USB Type-C, which is a rare option nowadays. Most of the time you'll probably listen to your music wirelessly over Bluetooth, and the Studio Pro excels here with up to 40 hours of listening time on a charge. The Studio Pro also folds in for compact transport.

The Friends 4K Box Set Drops Under $100 for the First Time Ever for Black Friday

21 novembre 2025 à 00:02

As a child of the '90s, very few TV shows have impacted me as deeply as Friends. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of my family sitting down together to watch new episodes as they aired and laughing along with the studio audience in the background. I've seen every episode so many times that I can practically recite the lines as they come, but I still find myself binging every season at least once a year. It's my comfort show.

Friends is still available to stream with an HBO Max subscription, but if you don't have one then the best way to watch it is to buy the box set. More specifically, the 4K set. Warner Bros. released all 10 seasons in glorious 4K just last year and it has finally dropped below $100 for the first time since then.

Friends: The Complete Series Drops to Its Lowest Price

This discount is part of Amazon's offical Black Friday sale, so it will likely last as long as the sale is live or until it goes out of stock. When the box set was first released it was priced at $249.99, so to see it under $100 is pretty significant. This is the lowest price we've ever seen on this set and I'd expect it to jump back up as soon as Black Friday comes to a close.

The box set includes all 10 seasons, which comes as a total of 25 discs. In addition to all 236 original episodes, there's also hours of bonus content and a new bonus feature that didn't come with the previously released Blu-ray box set.

Why buy physical media?

Physical media has been making a comeback, and it largely has to do with ownership. In the case of Friends, Warner Bros. currently holds the rights to the show which means you can only stream it on HBO Max. But you may not be able to stream it there forever, and unless you have the highest tier subscription, you won't be able to watch it in 4K. Buying a box set like this is a great way to ensure you'll always be able to watch Ross and Rachel's tumultuous love arc in high definition, or turn on the Thanksgiving episode where Joey gets a turkey stuck on his head whenever you feel like it. And most importantly, if HBO Max decides to pull the series from its streaming platform (like it's been doing for Cartoon Network shows), you won't be left Friends-less.
