Ever Wondered What's Behind the Mask of Elden Ring Nightreign's Characters? Here's Your Answer

12 juin 2025 à 10:12

Ever looked at the bulky helmets and garb of Elden Ring Nightreign's Nightfarers? Well, wonder no more, as one YouTuber has taken the mask off and shown the little details hiding underneath the coverings of Elden Ring Nightreign's cast.

YouTuber Zullie the Witch posted a behind-the-mask look at Nightreign's cast on June 5. All of them have distinct models, with some surprising details under the hood.

Some are just little curiosities, like Ironeye's face being fully modeled from the front. Zullie also notes that the Nightfarers' eye colors change depending on their skin. Other characters have some fun ties to other FromSoftware games, like the Duchess' similarity to Dark Souls 3's Firekeeper.

Revealing the face of characters like Ironeye or Executor is neat, but the real question I'm sure you're asking is whether the avian Guardian is truly a bird, or if he has a human face underneath? Well, the answer is that yes, he is truly a bird. The Revenant also hides a skull beneath her porcelain facade, though, so there are still some surprises in store for those who haven't seen them in-game yet.

While there aren't any profound lore discoveries to be made here, they do add a little extra character to each of the Nightfarers, and show off FromSoft's attention to detail, even down to the tiny things that would probably go unnoticed in most players' runs of the game.

The one strange note is Wylder, who does not seem to have a face model at all. This might just be a design quirk, but it's interesting to imagine there might be some deeper lore reason for his under-armor presence remaining a mystery.

Elden Ring Nightreign players are slowly getting to grips with the game, and some are already completing impressive challenges. This week, IGN reported on one player who used the Wraith Calling Bell clear the final boss of Elden Ring Nightreign.

We’ve got plenty of Nightreign tips and tricks to help you take down all the eight Nightlord Bosses, and if you’re wondering how to unlock the two locked Nightfarer Classes, check out How to Unlock the Revenant and How to Unlock the Duchess, plus How to Change Characters.

FUBAR Season 2 Review

12 juin 2025 à 09:01

While Netflix’s FUBAR is certainly a vehicle for Arnold Schwarzenegger to reach back to his gun-toting, one-liner-slinging, world-saving onscreen heyday, what makes the action-comedy worth watching is the interpersonal drama of its main cast – it’s a show that works best when it centers on the relationships between father-daughter CIA operatives Luke and Emma Brunner (Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro) and the rest of its ensemble. Unfortunately, the newly released second season doesn't fully capitalize on that quality. Instead, it leans on subpar action and awkward subplots between new characters, resulting in an entertaining batch of episodes undercut by some thematic missteps.

Picking up months after the first season’s cover-blowing cliffhanger, season 2 finds Luke and Emma living in a safe house alongside their family, friends, and a handful of “associates.” It’s an odd predicament that affords a few laughs, with trained agents living side-by-side with civilians who don’t quite understand why they're attacked every time they leave the premises. (In one misguided trip, a birthday party at a Chuck E. Cheese-esque family fun center comically ends in bloodshed and destroyed animatronics.)

Yet despite a premise that lays a strong foundation for some high-stakes hijinks, it’s often the weaker aspects of the plot that get emphasized. The overarching, potentially world-ending dilemma that forces Luke’s team out of hiding is interesting, and the conflicts that erupt between missions are occasionally funny, but they’re overwhelmed by FUBAR’s yawn-inducing shootouts and underwhelming fight sequences. Season 1 set the bar for action extremely low, and season 2 trips right over it. The same can be said for the near-constant mishaps that plague the characters. Predictable or not, most of Luke’s explosive blunders have lost their luster this time around.

But that’s nothing compared to the various love triangles that crop up this season, beginning with the arrival of Greta Nelso (Carrie-Anne Moss), an ex-East German spy and Luke’s former lover. Moss does her best to ham it up opposite Schwarzenegger, and it works in parts, namely whenever they’re commiserating on how old they’ve both gotten. But because much of the plot hinges on Greta attempting to woo Luke away from his no-longer-quite-so-ex-wife Tally (Fabiana Udenio), most of their exchanges are awkward, packed with cringe-inducing dialogue. During these scenes, the pacing drags to a halt; for a season that ends with a reflection on the importance of family and life-long friendship, there’s too much time spent on this dead-end courtship.

The real fun lies within the confines of the crowded CIA safe house. Being cooped up with antsy co-workers and emotionally distraught family members is rough. That’s to say nothing of the weird dynamic between Emma, Tally, and their respective exes Carter (Jay Baruchel) and Donnie (Andy Buckley). Baruchel’s depiction of a kindhearted school teacher who’s totally out of his depth in the world of international espionage is amusing. Meanwhile, Buckley’s apathetic line delivery and off-putting mannerisms really sell Donnie’s post-breakup, mid-sequestration blues. It makes sense that he’d grow somewhat antisocial: He has to listen to Luke and Tally rekindle their romance through the house’s hilariously thin walls. His reluctance to bathe, eat cereal with milk (he’d rather use beer), or wear pants during tense moments presents an entirely different level of standoffish behavior. Yet, Buckley’s deadpan approach to this despair provides the humor, especially in his scenes with Baruchel.

Though a lot of the season’s humor comes from the characters not getting along, moments showcasing their willingness to work together are just as engaging. Schwarzenegger and Barbaro’s dynamic resonates thanks to a shift in tone: While Luke and Emma still clash from time to time, their newfound sense of trust and mutual respect for one another makes for some pleasantly meaningful interactions. It's nice to see them take down random mercenaries together, too. There may not be anything particularly impressive about the way that taking down is shot or staged, but Barbaro's spry and sure-footed athleticism complements Schwarzennegger's more "seasoned" (read: a lower level of intensity befitting the now 77-year-old Terminator) approach to combat. Fortune Feimster and Travis Van Winkle still entertain as CIA agents Roo and Aldon, though due to circumstances that force them apart, they don’t share as much screen time together as I would’ve hoped. And Milan Carter’s Berry continues to be a charming guy in the chair, his devotion to the group leading to some of this season’s most heartfelt moments.

How to Gift a Disney+ Streaming Subscription to Someone

12 juin 2025 à 04:30

These days, streaming services are a dime a dozen. Disney+ offers some of the best value in relation to the exclusive content it has available, as you'll not only have access to dozens of Disney and Pixar films and TV shows, but the entirety of the collected Marvel Cinematic Universe and every Star Wars project pre- and post-acquisition. Depending on the subscription tier or bundle you pick, you can also experience Hulu and ESPN content as well, making this the best bang-for-your-buck streaming services around.

But did you know you can give a Disney+ subscription as a gift? Just in time for Father's Day, we've got the skinny on how to give a subscription out to your loved ones and how the process works.

How to Give Disney+ As a Gift

The best way to go about giving a Disney+ subscription as a gift is through a gift card. You can choose values anywhere between $25 and $200 to load onto the card, so figure out what your gift recipient likes and plan accordingly. One month of Disney+ is $10.99 for example, so the base $25 is good for two months.

Here's how it works:

  1. Determine the amount you want to load on the card, from $25 to $200.
  2. Visit disneyplus.com/giftcard to purchase. You can also get physical cards at any Disney-owned store or other major retailers like Target or Walmart.
  3. Get a nice card and write a heartfelt message!
  4. When your loved one is ready to redeem, they can do so by visitng the disneyplus.com/commerce/gift.
  5. Enter the gift card number, security code, and ZIP and they're ready to go. If they're a first-time subscriber, they'll have to create an account.
  6. Select the desired Disney+ or bundle plan.

Does a Disney+ Gift Card Work With Streaming Bundles?

There are a handful of different Disney+ bundles available, and luckily the gift cards work towards these as well. So if you're wanting to grab Hulu, ESPN, and HBO Max to bundle and save, you can do so to save a few bucks. Our explainer guide on how to get or switch to one of these bundles is a useful tool for how to decide what to pick.

How Much Should You Gift?

Like I mentioned previously, you can load the gift card with values ranging from $25 all the way up to $200. Some folks like to pay up front for their longterm subscriptions so they don't have to worry about it later, so a gift card of $100+ is a great route to take if you're planning on binging the entirety of the MCU or catch up on Andor. Check out our Disney+ bundle price guide for more info, or look at a quick TL;DR below so you can get a good idea of how much to give as a gift:

  • Disney+ Basic: $9.99 monthly
  • Disney+ Premium: $15.99 monthly, $159.99 annually
  • Disney+, Hulu bundle - Basic: $10.99 monthly
  • Disney+, Hulu bundle - Premium; $19.99 monthly
  • Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle - Basic: $16.99 monthly
  • Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle - Premium: $26.99 monthly
  • Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle - Legacy: $21.99 monthly
  • Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max with ads: $16.99 monthly
  • Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max without ads: $29.99 monthly

The Alienware Area-51 GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming PC Drops Back Down to Under $5,000

12 juin 2025 à 03:35

If you're seeking the absolute best of the best in PC gaming performance, look no further. Dell has just dropped the price of its flagship Alienware Area-51 prebuilt gaming PC, equipped with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card to $4.949.99 with free shipping. This is a competitive price - especially for an Alienware computer - compared to the similar off-the-shelf prebuilts on Amazon. The RTX 5090 is undisputedly the most powerful graphics card on the market and is pretty much impossible to find for under $3,000 by itself.

Alienware Area-51 RTX 5090 Gaming PC for $4,949.99

This Alienware Area-51 gaming PC configuration drops to $4.949.99 after a $550 off instant discount. Specs include an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and 2TB SSD storage. The Core Ultra 9 285K is Intel's latest flagship CPU and offers stellar workstation and gaming performance. It's not quite the performance uplift we wanted from the i9-14900K, but it's still the best all-around CPU that Intel has on offer. The processor is cooled by a massive 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the system is powered by a 1,500W Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has emerged as the most powerful consumer GPU on the market. Although Nvidia has prioritized software updates, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology to improve gameplay performance, the 5090 still boasts an impressive 25%-30% uplift over the RTX 4090 in terms of pure hardware-based raster performance. The 5090 also has more (32GB vs. 24GB) and faster (GDDR7 vs. GDDR6) VRAM compared to the 4090. This GPU is extremely difficult to find at retail price and is currently selling for $3,500-$4,000 on eBay.

Check out our Best Alienware Deals article with all of Dell's currently ongoing deals on gaming laptops and desktop PCs. Not everyone is the DIY type. If you're in the market for a prebuilt gaming PC, Dell is one of the best brands we'd recommend. Alienware desktops and laptops feature solid build quality, top-of-the-line gaming performance, excellent cooling (further improved on the newer models), aggressive styling, and pricing that is very competitive with other pre-built options. Best of all, there are plenty of sales that happen throughout the year, so it's not difficult to grab one of these computers at considerably less than their retail price.

This Day in Gaming 🎂

In retro news, I'm celebrating the 16th birthday of Ninja Gaiden II. While the 2004 revival of Ninja Gaiden was lauded for being exceedingly hard, I remember this follow up was more largely known for being excessively gory. Death by dismemberment was all the rage, thanks to Obliteration Techniques that would put limb-reduced enemies into an even greater world of pain. Pretty standard stuff nowadays, though.

The Dungeon Crawler Carl Books Are on Sale at Amazon and I Highly Recommend Them

12 juin 2025 à 01:18

I have read more than my fair share of LitRPG books, but Dungeon Crawler Carl has been a contender for overall favorite new series since book one. It's a fast-paced adventure that has everything you could ever need in a book. It's basically an ongoing story about a man and his sassy cat's descent into the madness of an apocolyptic space game show. The author, Matt Dinniman, has a writing style that perfectly blends outrageousness with intrigue in a way that makes it hard to put down once you start reading.

If that's enough to pique your interest, then I'd recommend picking up a copy to read and just diving right in. Amazon is having a buy one, get one 50% off sale on books right now that includes the hardcover editions, but the series is also free with a Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Books are Buy one, Get One 50% Off at Amazon

There are a total of seven books in the series so far, but only six have gotten a hardcover release. You can read all of the books digitally by either purchasing the eBook or via a Kindle Unlimited subscription. The latest book in the series, The Inevitable Ruin, is also getting a hardcover release, but not until September 2025. Because of that, it isn't currently included in the buy one, get one free sale at Amazon.

I've listed all of the books in their correct reading order in the carousel above, but here's a quick chronological list below as well. There's also an eighth book in the series that is currently expected to arrive later this year.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Reading Order

  1. Dungeon Crawler Carl
  2. Carl's Doomsday Scenario
  3. The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook
  4. The Gate of the Feral Gods
  5. The Butcher's Masquerade
  6. The Eye of the Bedlam Bride
  7. The Inevitable Ruin
  8. Carl's Book of Boom (Expected November 2025)

Is It Worth Getting Into LitRPG?

If you aren't already familiar with the genre, LitRPG is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. LitRPG stands for literary role-playing game, which essentially means that the story features some sort of RPG element that is similar to what you'd find in a video game. In some cases this means the main character literally gets pulled into a video game and starts leveling up, but the genre is a lot more expansive than that.

The Dungeon Crawler Carl series is a good example of how LitRPG can blend perfectly with the fantasy and sci-fi genres. The main character starts out as a regular guy on Earth only to be forced down into a dungeon controlled by alien invaders. The actual LitRPG elements of the story are introduced seamlessly via an unhinged AI that grants dungeon participants power and levels. So if you like more modern, fast-paced fantasy and sci-fi stories, you're probably going to like Dungeon Crawler Carl.

This series is a great entry point into the genre overall because it doesn't necessarily throw a bunch of stat sheets and complicated magic systems in your face. It leads with fast-paced action and some generally fantastic dialogue you'll really enjoy. The overarching story and interplay between the galactic audience and the Earth survivors also makes for a really interesting concept that never really gets old.

Star Wars Outlaws for Xbox Drops to Just $20

12 juin 2025 à 00:35

Star Wars fans, don't miss out on this incredible video game deal. Walmart is currently offering Ubisoft's Star Wars Outlaws game for Xbox Series X for just $20. This game normally retails for $59.99 and the lowest price I've ever seen for it was $39.99 during last year's Cyber Monday sale. The game is a physical copy that's sold and shipped by Walmart itself, not a marketplace vendor. You'll need to get your order total to $35 in order to get free shipping, or choose free in-store pickup where available.

Star Wars Outlaws (Xbox) for $20

Star Wars Outlaws latest update - dubbed 1.6 - was rolled out earlier in May. The new update arrives alongside the new A Pirate's Fortune DLC and includes various quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and some freebies like a new Star Wars: Skeleton Crew cosmetic pack.

New Xbox Gaming Handheld Unveiled

In other Xbox news, Microsoft officially announced its plans to release two Xbox gaming handhelds during its Xbox Games Showcase 2025 on June 8. The two new handhelds - the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X - are part of a collaboration with Asus and based on the existing Asus ROG Ally platform. You'll be able to play Xbox games including Gears of War: Reloaded and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Launch is expected to be sometime during holiday 2025.

The Best Lap Desks for Gaming from Anywhere

11 juin 2025 à 23:43

If your couch is the most comfortable seat in the house, why game or work anywhere else? A lap desk makes that possible, offering a large, flat, and secure surface to set up your gaming keyboard and mouse, laptop, tablet, or even your new Switch 2's Joy-Con to play in mouse mode.

Lap desks come in all shapes and sizes, so you can find one that fits your needs exactly. The most common options have desk surfaces with well-padded bottoms that rest directly on your legs without adding too much strain or causing discomfort. Others place legs around your body or next to it while holding a large tabletop for devices, delivering a bit more wiggle room and less pressure, letting you focus on what really matters: winning the game... or meeting a work deadline.

TL;DR – The Best Lap Desks:

Some lap desks incorporate cable management, USB hubs, and even drawers for a tidier setup. If you’re using a gaming laptop, which can get pretty toasty added ventilation could a major consideration when shopping. No matter what you’re after, we’ve found a great lap desk. Once you realize the stability and comfort these little tabletops bring to working or gaming from a couch or bed, you’ll never go back to just using your lap.

Additional contributions by Georgie Peru

1. Couchmaster Cycon³

Best Overall Lap Desk

The Couchmaster Cycon² got a revamp, keeping all the comfort of its predecessor while adding a few new features that make it an even better lap desk. The latest iteration isn’t cheap, but it comes with a new RGB lightbar and adds the increasingly essential USB-C port to its USB hub selection.

Rather than just delivering a board that lies across your lap, the Couchmaster Cycon³ has massive adjustable cushions that flank your sides and double as armrests. These cushions are made of sturdy memory foam wrapped in durable and soft suede material with a large 32-inch by 13-inch durable plastic desk resting on top. Its surface is pretty roomy, providing plenty of space for a full-sized keyboard and the included mouse pad. The edge of the lap board even uses a vegan leather wrist rest for better ergonomics.

To keep things organized, the Cycon³ has a few pockets on the outside of the cushions to store cables, mice, and other accessories. Under the desk surface are two compartments covered by screwed-in panels to tuck away cables. It also houses a USB hub with four USB Type-A 3.0 ports. Around the top of the desk is the new RGB Horizonlight Bar that gets pretty bright and has easy-to-access capacitive buttons for adjusting lighting effects. A USB-C port and an additional USB-A port are located just above the light bar for even more connectivity options.

2. Couchmaster Cybot

Best Laptop Lap Desk

Most lap desks only have enough space for a keyboard and mouse, but the Couchmaster Cybot lets you set up a little battle station for the couch. On the desk surface, there’s a built-in ventilation grille for your laptop to pull up air, a slot to hold up a tablet or phone, and a large gaming mousepad. It’s important to note that this lap desk is best for laptops 17 inches or smaller.

The Cybot places cushions on either side of that desktop surface to keep your gaming station stable while you play. Those cushions can be easily adjusted or removed, just like the Couchmaster Cycon³, and feature a camo material with the front portion equipped with Kevlar to increase durability. To top it off, it has a wrist pad for additional comfort and pockets on the side to store accessories or cords.

3. Xdesk Flex

Best Couch-Side Standing Desk

Lap boards are great and all, but most either lock you into the seat for the long haul or rest on your legs. That’s where the Xdesk Flex comes in handy. Though it’s not a lap desk in the traditional sense, it gets the job done while allowing for more mobility. Its 30x24-inch surface and support for up to 100lbs means you’ll enjoy ample room major stability while you do so.

The Xdesk Flex is actually a convertible standing desk, but it’s built using quality materials and has a low-profile base that you can slide under a couch. Therefore, if you're sick of sitting and want to work on your posture, just raise the desk up using its motor. The major drawback here is its staggering price for a desk, which only gets wincingly higher as you add on what would otherwise be nice features like an outlet and USB ports.

4. Songmics Laptop Desk

Best Lap Desk for Working from Home

Achieve the ultimate lounge-while-working setup with the Songmics Laptop Desk. The large 13.8x21.7-inch surface area can be raised to 11.4 inches or lowered to 8.3 inches, making it the perfect height to slide over your legs while resting in bed or on the couch and working from home. It’s made of sturdy bamboo and can hold up to 22lbs, so the desk is both lightweight and durable.

Going beyond the basics, it has a tiny storage drawer that can hold wireless headphones to quickly pop on for a call or a notebook for those who prefer the pen-to-paper feel – whatever you want to hide in there. The tabletop itself is split into two parts so you can angle your laptop in five different positions for the ideal viewing position, and a stopper at the end will prevent it from falling off. The other side of the tabletop is the perfect place for your mouse or a coffee. When you’re done with work for the day, the desk folds flat for easy storage.

5. LapGear Lap Desk

Best Padded Lap Desk

For a simple, sturdy, and comfy surface to stick a laptop or keyboard on while lounging, the LapGear Lap Desk is just that, availble in multiple fabric options to fit the aesthetic of your space. Its heavily padded cushion conforms to your lap, so you can sit or lay in the coziest positions while keeping everything you’ve loaded on top of the desk in place.

Though it isn't the most ergonomic option, you get a decently sized desk surface that can hold laptops up to 15.6 inches, and there’s a stopper at the end of the board to keep your laptop or other peripherals from sliding off. A slot on the desk surface can house your phone, and an elastic strap provides the perfect place to stuff a notebook or tablet. The smooth, flat desktop prevents your electronics from overheating like they might if you were holding them in your lap.

6. Arlo Skye Lap Desk 19

Best Lap Desk for Bed

If you work from home, chances are good that you’ve at minimum considered logging in from the comfort of your bed, and the Arlo Skye Lap Desk 19 makes that dream (or regular practice) a reality. You get a 13.5x19-inch premium white oak melamine veneered surface area to hoist your laptop off your lap to combat overheating and to angle devices for a better view. That rests on top of a microbead cushion that hugs your lap.

This lap desk also has a smartphone or tablet dock with a cable management system to keep your setup tidy. But perhaps its most convenient feature is its built-in storage that can stow a 13-inch laptop, extra cables, snacks, and more.

7. Saiji Laptop Lap Desk

Best Lap Desk for Nintendo Switch 2

Scored a Nintendo Switch 2? A lap desk is a surprisingly great investment, especially to take full advantage of the Joy-Con controllers’ new "mouse mode" functionality. The problem is, if the Switch 2 is hooked up to a bigger screen or its integrated stand is being used with the controllers detached, a couch, coffee table, or your legs won’t offer the ideal user experience. A lap desk is the best, easiest fix, and we’re big fans of this one from Saiji.

It places a massive, flat desk surface area on your legs, measuring 21.3x13 inches. That’s plenty of space to make wild movements in mouse mode. Thanks to the PVC pro-level leather material that covers the entire surface, acting as a giant mouse pad, gliding will feel controlled and accurate for getting a leg up on opponents. In the top corner is a silicone slot where the Switch 2 can live. It offers a more secure hold than what’s typically seen on a lap desk.

Under the large desk surface is generously cushioned padding for extra comfort and to help alleviate strain. The design even takes your abdomen into account, adding a cutout to prevent pressure on that more sensitive area. Since the lap desk itself weighs 3.5lbs, extra plushness when the desk is rested on your legs is always appreciated.

8. Uncaged Ergonomics WorkEZ Adjustable Laptop Stand

Best Ergonomic Lap Desk

While the Uncaged Ergonomics WorkEZ Adjustable Laptop Stand might not be a lap desk in name, it can definitely be used as one. Unlike most laptop stands that almost always need to live on a flat surface, this one has unique legs that rest on a couch or bed with your legs or waist slotted in between. The desk surface won’t sit on you either, eliminating any unnecessary pressure. However, it’s not the widest option, measuring only about 16 inches, so it may not be large enough for everyone to easily tuck their legs under. Still, it’s ready to hold laptops as you relax on a better cushioned surface.

What makes the Uncaged Ergonomics WorkEZ a standout is the level of adjustability, bringing a major ergonomic boost. The three-section accordion legs can be raised between 2 and 18 inches, while the laptop tray is tiltable. With that design, it’s simple to find the ideal positioning and proper posture to maximize comfort, whether sitting on a couch, lying in bed, or even using it as a standing desk converter. Everything is relatively stable, although there may be a slight wobble on softer surfaces.

A 16.5x11-inch aluminum laptop tray is on the stand, and it features cooling holes to prevent overheating when using laptops and tablets up to 15.6 inches. Traction bands and a silicone rubber wrist guard are also in place to help keep devices secure. For a bit more surface area and ease of use, a detachable mouse pad can be easily installed on either side of the laptop stand. When not in use, the Uncaged Ergonomics WorkEZ even folds up nicely for storage.

9. AboveTEK Adjustable Laptop Lap Desk

Best Portable Lap Desk

The AboveTEK Adjustable Laptop Lap Desk is the true work from anywhere lap desk, great for taking on work trips. Rather than having cushions, big legs, or a clunkier design, this lap desk strives for portability above anything else. The result is an ultra-compact option, weighing only 1.83lbs, that can easily fold up and slide into a backpack to take on the go.

While the AboveTEK Adjustable Laptop Lap Desk won’t deliver the same level comfort of other picks, it still is far better than plopping a laptop or keyboard directly on your lap, causing an ergonomic and overheating nightmare. Instead, the desk’s surface features a textured PU leather, a non-skid bottom barrier, and a stopper at the edge to prevent slippage. It’s also not just a simple board that rests on the lap, as it can prop up devices at three different angles using a folding system, preventing strains and improving airflow. A little mouse pad even retracts from the lap desk, so you won’t need to always rely on the trackpad or touch capabilities of a device.

The tomtoc Slim Nintendo Switch 2 Case Is Better AND Cheaper Than the Official Nintendo Case

11 juin 2025 à 22:30

We've seen the official Nintendo Switch 2 case and it could be better for the price. It fits the console well enough, but the build quality and protection is lacking and it looks boring for a $40 case. If you want something that protects your Switch 2 while looking a lot nicer and still maintaining a slim profile, I'd suggest getting the tomtoc Slim Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case. In fact, it currently costs $36.99 on Amazon, which is a few dollars cheaper than the official case.

tomtoc Slim Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case for $36.99

tomtoc has a history of making great cases for mobile electronics. It makes popular cases for most current gaming handhelds, including the original Switch and Switch Lite, Steam Deck, and Asus ROG Ally. Its signature trademark is the raised indent patterning for each handheld's unique analog joystick and button layout. This is mostly an aesthetic touch, but it helps set tomtoc cases apart from the clamshell design you'll see for nearly every other case out there.

Material-wise, the tomtoc is a hard shell case with a felt inner lining. It has an interior flap that can fit up to twelve game cards. Other features include a buckle strap and durable YKK zipper. The tomtoc Slim is available in black, white, and gray, although only the black color has the multi-colored logo. Since this is a slim case, there's no room to fit a charger.

Need something bigger?

If you're looking for something roomier, Tomtoc also has a sling-style case that's specifically made for portable gaming handhelds including the Switch 2. The padded compartment is shaped like a "W" to make room for a wide range of handhelds that have dual analog joysticks. It's not specifically designed for the Switch 2, so don't expect a molded fit, but there's plenty of room here to fit extra controllers, a charger or power bank, and more.

We also love the Genki Sleeper case

Many of the IGN staff think the Genki Sleeper is also one of the best Switch 2 cases on the market at the sub-$50 price point. It features a wool wrapped exterior that looks really great and resists water and stains. It's normally $42.99, but there's a Father's Day coupon code "DAD10" going on right now that drops the price down to $38.69. That doesn't sound much more expensive than the tomtoc, however keep in mind that there's a flat $9 shipping charge. I'd suggest getting your order total over $69 to get free shipping.

Stock up on more essential Switch 2 accessories

Nintendo Switch 2 orders have shipped and many lucky gamers are playing Mario Kart World as I write this. In addition to a new case, you might want to think about picking up some other Switch 2 accessories, like a MicroSD Express card for extra storage, a screen protector for extra protection, or a power bank for extra battery life. Check out the list of officially licensed Switch 2 accessories that are already up for preorder, including the all-new Switch 2 Pro controller.

Crunchyroll Announces Anime Discounts During Amazon's Blu-ray Sale

11 juin 2025 à 22:21

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to build up your anime collection, I have some good news (well, maybe not for your wallet). Crunchyroll is running a home video sale through June 24 that overlaps with Amazon’s ongoing “Buy One, Get One 50%” sale on Blu-rays. Between the two sales, there’s quite a few deals on individual anime seasons, movies, and even collector’s editions. Here’s a look at some of the highlights.

Blu-rays Hitting Their Lowest Price at Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll is best known as one of the most popular anime streaming sites, but for those who like to get their hands on something physical, the Crunchyroll Store also offers tons of DVDs, collectibles, and general anime merch.

The current Crunchyroll sale is knocking 40-55% off some older classics like Ouran High School Host Club (potentially my favorite shoujo anime of all time), and more recent home video releases like The Apothecary Diaries. I personally checked that these DVDs and Blu-rays were at their lowest price at Crunchyroll right now:

While a Crunchyroll subscription isn’t required to make orders on the site, it does offer the benefit of additional discounts on certain items. Also keep in mind as you peruse the two sales that Crunchyroll only offers free shipping on orders over $75.

Anime Also Included in Amazon's "Buy One, Get One 50% Off" Deal

Amazon is also running a “Buy One, Get One 50% Off” sale on Blu-rays, books, and even board games. At a glance, the Amazon sale includes more classics like Sailor Moon and Pokémon as well as Studio Ghibli movies like Kiki’s Delivery Service. I'm definitely picking up my personal (and incredibly mainstream) favorite anime movie, Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name.

Unlike Crunchyroll, the Amazon sale isn’t just limited to anime. You can mix and match across genres and even grab a book (or manga volume) as your second product. To get the deal, you just need to add two eligible items to your cart and a 50% discount will be automatically applied to the cheaper item. As my colleague Chris Reed explains in his breakdown of the Blu-ray sale, "Please note that Amazon uses super confusing language that makes it look like you have to buy two items to get one half off, but that’s not the case. It’s buy 1, get 1 half off." You can check out the full sale here.

These Recently Retired LEGO Sets Are Still Available at Amazon, But Not Forever

11 juin 2025 à 22:00

As much as we all love LEGO and the endless amount of available builds, not every set sticks around forever. Most LEGO sets eventually "retire", meaning they won't be able to be purchased from most retailers. Luckily, Amazon still has a handful of these retired sets for sale, but stock is limited, so now's the perfect time to pick up some great sets you may have almost missed out on. Many of these are even being sold at a small discount, giving you even more incentive to pick them up now and avoid mark-ups from resellers.

There are countless ways to buy LEGO sets in 2025, but retired sets can be hard to find at major retailers. Below are some of the recently retired sets that you can still nab from Amazon before they're gone forever.

Retired LEGO Sets Still Available to Buy From Amazon

There's always something for folks of all ages when it comes to LEGO. From kid-friendly playsets to display models, the retired sets available at Amazon offer a fairly wide variety. I'm partial to the Star Wars R2-D2 (75308) as both a massive Star Wars and LEGO fan; this super detailed model is perfect as a display piece in a game room or on your book shelf. Then we have the Technic Porsche 911 (42096), another adult-friendly car model that's almost one-to-one to the actual car. Finally, the LEGO Brickheads line has always been a fan-favorite, and the retired Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings figures are on sale and still available to purchase on Amazon.

A great way to keep track of retired sets and upcoming retirees, we'd recommend checking out the Brick Economy website. This is a third-party site that tracks all of these sets, and you can check out the full list to see what's next.

Which LEGO Sets Are Retiring Soon?

If you're out of the loop, it can be a bit confusing to figure out which LEGO sets are retiring soon and when. Luckily, if you go to LEGO's official website, there's a "Last Chance to Buy" page with all the info you'll need and is updated regularly. They do not, however, post the exact date the set will be retired, so if you're interested in a specific set that will be off store shelves soon, the beginning of the month is the best time to check.

Below I've aggregated some of the coolest sets that'll be retired soon, from Marvel and Super Mario sets to a sweet F1 McClaren race car.

Elden Ring Nightreign Is Perfect for Handheld Gaming PCs

11 juin 2025 à 21:35

Elden Ring ran extremely well on the Asus ROG Ally X, but with the release of Nightreign, handheld gaming PC nerds (like me) are desperate to know if it continues the trend. After all, Shadow of the Erdtree was more demanding than the original, and that was an expansion built into it. Considering Nightreign is a standalone title, it has the potential to take things up a notch. But I have great news: It runs even better than Elden Ring.

That seems surprising, but it shouldn’t be: Elden Ring Nightreign is limited to a small map called Limveld, meaning there’s far less on the screen at any time. It helps that the environment is based on Limgrave rather than anything from Shadow of the Erdtree, which came out two years later and had more complex visual effects that gave my Ally a run for its money.

Can the Asus ROG Ally X Handle Elden Ring Nightreign?

I tested the game primarily in the castle at the center of Limveld. It's the largest set piece on the unaltered base map, where giants can throw enormous pots of magic at the player. This is where my framerate consistently dips to its lowest points, so I’m using it as a baseline for performance. I also started a new match between each graphics preset (as recommended by the game).

I set my ROG Ally X’s Operating Mode to Turbo (30W) and plugged it into an outlet, allowing it to output the maximum amount of watts into performance. I also allocated 16GB of RAM to the GPU to get the most of its hardware, which is a unique advantage of the Ally X, as it’s built with 24GB of RAM. Most other handheld gaming PCs feature 16GB of RAM and can only allocate 8GB to the GPU. These settings allow the Asus ROG Ally X to run at its best.

The game runs well on the handheld, but Elden Ring Nightreign can struggle when there are a lot of enemies and visual effects at the same time, especially in more open areas. So, if you’re being ganked by several blood-infused enemies set to self-destruct on your position, all while overlooking Limveld from the top of ruins, the frame rate will take a massive hit. However, in enclosed spaces, like a dense forest, the game fares much better, particularly if you strategically point the camera towards the ground.

My ROG Ally X maintained an average of 30 fps at 1080p on the Maximum preset, with occasional drops down to 27 fps (usually after being bombarded by magic pots). The only other preset that dipped below 30 fps was 1080p on High. It hit an average of 35 fps, but dropped to 28 fps a few times when battling atop the castle. Otherwise, no other graphics preset dipped below 30 fps once. 1080p at Medium settings came in at an average of 39 fps. Low averaged at 43 fps, with a low of 39 fps.

The game runs much better at 720p, even reaching 60 fps occasionally. Maximum at 720p averaged 41 fps, with a 1% low of 38 fps. High came in with an average of 44 fps, with 40 fps at the worst. Medium and low look crunchy, but yield excellent performance.

Elden Ring Nightreign Is Perfect on the Asus ROG Ally X

Nightreign looks great at 1080p with Maximum settings, and plays decently enough. I enjoyed sessions from start to finish on this preset, and while occasional stutters were bothersome, it’s pretty smooth otherwise and often hovered over 30 fps. 30 fps isn’t enough for everyone though, and those willing to take a hit to resolution will likely find a better balance playing at Maximum graphics and 720p, which hovers around 41 fps, hitting a midpoint between smoothness and quality.

Players clamoring for 60 fps on their Asus ROG Ally X will have the best luck at 720p, but you’ll have to reduce the graphics presets to Medium or Low. Even then, the machine cannot maintain an average of 60 fps, and only reaches that high during less demanding encounters, like in enclosed spaces. It doesn’t look great, though, as Limveld appears flat on Low especially. The island loses its complex shadows, and each structure is low-poly.

Hasbro Reveals Comic-Con-Exclusive Marvel Legends Savage Land Set

11 juin 2025 à 21:30

Hasbro has revealed its exclusive Marvel Legends set for San Diego Comic-Con 2025, and '90s X-Men fans will be pleased. The Marvel Legends Series: Gamerverse Marvel Snap Savage Land 3-Pack features brand new figures of iconic heroines Rogue and Shanna the She-Devil, as well as the fearsome mutant villain Sauron.

Check out the slideshow gallery below for a closer look at this stunning new set:

This set gets the Gamerverse branding because it's technically based on a series of unlockable cards in the mobile game Marvel Snap. But it also has plenty of nostalgia factor, hearkening back to artist Jim Lee's run on Uncanny X-Men in the late '80s and early '90s.

The Savage Land 3-Pack includes 15 different accessories, such as spears, alternate heads and hands, and even a hypnosis effect for Sauron. All three figures are designed in the usual 6-inch Marvel Legends scale.

The Marvel Legends Series: Gamerverse Marvel Snap Savage Land 3-Pack is priced at $89.99 and will initially be sold only in person at Hasbro's SDCC booth (#3213). Limited quantities will then be made available on the Hasbro Pulse website after SDCC ends.

Will you be adding this Marvel Legends set to your collection? Let us know in the comments below. And stay tuned for plenty more collectibles coverage as the build-up to Comic-Con continues.

In other Marvel Legends news, Hasbro recently teased a new line of figures inspired by the Marvel vs. Capcom games. You can also check out the many Marvel collectibles available on the IGN Store.

Open-World Action RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Unveils Two New Trailers

11 juin 2025 à 21:22

Open-world action RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin recently dropped new trailers at Summer Game Fest and the Future Games Show, showcasing the world and characters developer Netmarble has been cooking up. They also announced that pre-registration has opened for all regions as momentum builds to its release window later this year.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is being made by the same team that created 2019’s The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross and tells an original story set in Brittania, the same world as The Seven Deadly Sins anime and manga series. That series has sold 55 million copies and Grand Cross reached 70 million downloads globally, so it’s fair to say there’s a huge fanbase that’s been anticipating the latest installment. It stars Tristan, son of series main characters Meliodas and Elizabeth, in a multiverse narrative that dives into parallel timelines and alternate character arcs.

It all begins with the Book of Stars, a pendant that lay dormant in a cave beneath a lake. It has the power to record and connect timelines, and it chooses Tristan to be its next guardian. That moment sets Tristan on his course to explore the world and save it from turmoil and chaos.

The new trailers provide a glimpse into the game’s central narrative, a deeper look at its expansive world, and show off the eye-catching art style that emulates the anime, powered by Unreal Engine. The first trailer, revealed on Friday during Summer Game Fest, begins with Tristan’s discovery of the Book of Stars. It seemingly sets off an explosion of power before settling into a celestial orb in the middle of the pendant.

We then see some of the game’s large and varied environments, including open fields, canyons, lakeside docks, a desert oasis, and an underwater area. You can fly or go diving to fully explore some of these regions, and you can take part in other activities as you explore, like fishing and cooking.

We get a look at the flashy and fast-paced real-time combat system, showing several different characters and their abilities. At one point, two characters attack at the same time, hinting at the ability to strategically combine characters’ unique skills and weapons to create combos.

There are a variety of enemies featured, including spiders, golems, aggressive plants, and a horned monster that falls out of a flaming hole in the sky. And that’s on top of two hulking monstrosities that tower above the trees.

The second trailer, shown during the Future Games Show on Saturday, expands on the showdown with one of those monstrosities. We see that it’s not just a cutscene, it’s an actual boss fight where the controllable character has to dodge fireballs before climbing up the body of the massive creature.

That trailer also expanded on the environments, showing a deep forest, a cavern beneath the sand, the inside of a town, and a rain-drenched grassland. You can also see Tristan magically moving blocks into empty holes in a door or wall, possibly indicating that there will be environmental puzzles you need to solve.

The two trailers combined to give us our deepest dive into The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin yet, and they clearly have fans excited, since they gathered more than a million views on YouTube in just two days. Origin will be available on PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile, with crossplay available across all platforms. You can wishlist it now on PS5 and Steam.

If you’re interested in learning more about the game’s world and characters, you can check out the official website, where you can access the game’s official Discord, Twitter, and YouTube channels. You can also pre-register on that site, which will keep you up to date with the latest news and info. Pre-registered players will be able to sign up for the upcoming closed beta test and will get exclusive in-game rewards when the game launches.

Get a Free 3 Month Trial to Peacock TV

11 juin 2025 à 21:10

Peacock TV just launched another limited time coupon code. Peacock normally doesn't offer a free trial, but right now you can get a free 3 month trial for the ad-supported Peacock Premium plan (normally $7.99/mo) by applying coupon code "PEAGZ7LNYFN44OEJ6". I don't know when this coupon expires, so I would recommend signing up immediately. Anyone who isn't currently subscribed to Peacock TV should be eligible, and that includes past subscribers.

3 Month Free Trial to Peacock TV

In our recently updated Peacock TV streaming service review, Rosie Knight wrote, "When it comes to growth and evolution since its launch, Peacock has really had an impressive journey. In 2024 it feels like the service has found its niche as an affordable platform with a wide range of viewing options. When every other service is edging closer towards $20 a month, Peacock offers new straight-from-the-theater movies, an untouchable TV back catalog, and even live sports. It's a selection that keeps Peacock in the streaming conversation, while the affordability raises it up to one of the best options."

Watch Wicked on Peacock TV

Watch Dog Man on Peacock TV

Watch Nosferatu on Peacock TV

Access to Live Sports, Including NFL Sunday Night Football

Since Peacock TV is owned and operated by NBC (Peacock, after all, is named after the NBC logo), you get access to NFL Sunday Night football games. You also get access to other live sports like Premier League, Big 10 Football, and WWE.

Exclusive Access to The Office

Peacock has a couple of other big wins. This is the only platform where you're able to stream all episodes of The Office for no additional fee. If you aren't familiar with the inter-work relationships between Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute, you are seriously missing out. If that still doesn't tickle your fancy, Yellowstone is another outstanding TV series that just recently ended with its fifth season. (This was a Paramount original that Peacock had the streaming rights to because Paramount made a deal with Peacock before Paramount+ existed. Complicated!) Video game aficionados will find plenty of things to like here as well, like the superbly animated new Super Mario Bros. kids' flick, the Five Night At Freddies supernatural horror, or the Twisted Metal TV series.

Absolute Batman Meets Absolute Bane, and the Results are Mind-Boggling

11 juin 2025 à 20:51

Absolute Batman may lack many of the innate advantages of DC's traditional Dark Knight, but one thing he has going for him is sheer mass. Writer Scott Snyder famously joked that this is "The Batman Who Lifts," given the way he towers over just about everyone else in Gotham City. Though not quite everyone. What happens when Absolute Batman meets Absolute Bane?

That's the question Snyder and artist Nick Dragotta have set out to answer in the series' latest story arc, "Abomination." Absolute Batman #9 introduces Bane to Bruce's rapidly growing rogues gallery. If you thought the Bane of the Arkham games was huge, just wait until you get a load of Absolute Bane.

Read on for a full breakdown of what happens when Absolute Batman meets Absolute Bane for the first time, as well as the other key Batman players who make their debuts in this issue.

Meet Absolute Bane

Bane makes his introduction in this issue when he crashes a private peace summit between the leaders of Qurac and Kahndaq. No sooner do the two men agree to end their long war and embark on a new era of peace and cooperation than Bane comes knocking. He informs the two men that, sadly, their peace talks broke down, and one man killed the other in a fit of rage. After securing a volunteer, Bane promptly crushes the other leader's head in one massive fist.

As you can see, Absolute Bane is an impressive physical specimen, dwarfing even Bruce Wayne. You might have expected Snyder and Dragotta to go in a completely different direction with this version of the character, making him lean and lithe to contrast Batman's raw muscle, but Snyder told IGN in a recent intervew that this was never an option.

“Bane, the one thing I'll say is he's really big. That's it,” Snyder said. “People were like, ‘Oh, he's going to be small.’ He's not going to be small. He's not small. We wanted someone who makes Bruce's silhouette look smaller.”

Absolute Bane may be large, but he's hardly a dumb brute. If anything, the character is oddly pleasant and well-spoken in his debut scene, even revealing a philosophical bent:

The implication in this scene is that Bane is working for Absolute Joker, a man whom we know is a reclusive billionaire who runs JK Industries and the mysterious Ark project. This assassination is part of a larger, systematic effort to destabilize world governments and enrich the wealthy elite. No sooner does Bane accomplish his mission than he's called to Gotham City and his first encounter with the Batman.

Absolute Nightwing and Deathstroke

Bane isn't the only major Batman character who makes his debut in issue #9. We also meet the Absolute versions of Dick Grayson and Deathstroke.

As far as we know, this Dick Grayson hasn't become Robin or Nightwing just yet. Instead, he's working as a Gotham City EMT. His job has grown much more difficult of late, as Batman is currently cutting a bloody swath through the criminal underworld and leaving countless Maroni and Falcone family members battered and broken. With every ambulance and every rideshare vehicle called into action, Dick is forced to race two of his charges to the hospital on a rickshaw.

Why is Batman on the warpath? He's searching for his childhood friend, Waylan, who was abducted in issue #8. Once Batman discovers (with help from GCPD officer Barbara Gordon) that Waylan has been taken to Ark-M, he hatches a plan to infiltrate the still-under-construction facility and rescue his friend. Serving as his eyes and ears is Alfred Pennyworth, who has returned to Gotham to lend a helping hand to its new protector.

However, Alfred has deep misgivings about the mission and Batman's ability to safely exfiltrate Waylan. Something has Alfred spooked, and we learn that it involves a discovery about an old friend. Alfred is haunted by the knowledge that his old comrade-in-arms Slade Wilson is now acting as the Joker's bodyguard. To Alfred, everything leads back to the overarching war that now looms over humanity.

It's also worth mentioning that issue #9 alludes to another major element of the Batman mythos (and one that played a key part in Snyder's previous Batman work). As he explores the depths of Ark-M, Batman comes across the skeleton of a gigantic bat frozen in ice.

This skeleton appears to be Barbatos, the demonic Bat-God that consumes decaying worlds created by the World Forge, and the being that pursued the Dark Knight across time in 2010's Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne. This Batman doesn't fully comprehend what he's seeing, but he seems to sense that both he and it are part of some larger cosmic game. Given Barbatos' ties to Darkseid, and the fact that Darkseid was the catalyst behind the creation of the Absolute Universe, this cameo appears to be hinting at a larger storyline.

Absolute Batman vs. Absolute Bane

Batman and Bane finally meet in the closing pages of Absolute Batman #9, and their showdown doesn't go well for the Dark Knight. Bane approaches their fight with a lackadaiscal calm. He calls out each of Batman's moves with an appreciative air, before responding by breaking his opponent's arms and leg in turn.

Here's where things get really wacky. Batman attempts to taunt Bane by calling him a "juicer," only for Bane to reveal that he hasn't actually activated the Venom tubes strapped to his back. As massive as Absolute Bane is, he can grow even bigger. And grow he does, revealing the monstrous transformation that takes place when he does consume Venom.

Once throughly juiced, Bane is now so enormous that Batman is roughly the size of one of his arms. No version of Bane we've seen before, whether from the classic comics, the cartoons, or the games, can measure up to this hulking monstrosity.

Clearly, Batman has his work cut out for him. Will he find some way of overcoming this far stronger and more skilled opponent? Will he follow the example of classic Batman and wind up with a broken back for his troubles? We'll find out as "Abomination" continues to unfold.

For more on DC's Absolute line, find out why it's DC's most exciting launch in years, and see the many ways Absolute Batman reinvents the Dark Knight's mythology.

This system is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB graphics card, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. Note that this is a customizable configuration so you can upgrade the CPU and GPU or increase your memory or storage capacity. The Core Ultra 7 265F is part of Intel's newest Arrow Lake-S lineup released earlier this year and boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 36MB L2 cache. This is an excellent all-around CPU for gaming, multi-tasking, and general workstation performance. In terms of gaming specifically, you won't see any improvement in performance upgrading to a Core Ultra 9. It's cooled by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooling system and the entire system is powered by an 850W power supply.

The RTX 5070 Ti is an excellent card for up to 4K gaming. In fact, of the Blackwell cards, this is the most affordable 4K graphics card that I'd recommend; the RTX 5070 isn't quite up to snuff and an RTX 5080 gaming PC costs at least $250-$300 more. Compared to the previous generation cards, it's roughly comparable to an RTX 4080 Super but with the added benefit of DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation.

Superman Trailer Contains Loads of New Footage, Reveals a Weird Baby, a Guy Gardner Face-Off, and a Laser Eye Beam Fight

11 juin 2025 à 19:21

A new Superman trailer has revealed lots of new footage, giving fans a good idea of what to expect from the DC Universe blockbuster when it comes out in July.

The trailer, below, shows Superman battling a number of supervillains to the backdrop of some rather disturbing threats from Lex Luthor. Lex, it seems, really, really hates Superman, and threatens to kill his girlfriend, Lois Lane, and everyone else he’s close to. “No matter what you do to me Luthor, your plans won’t work,” Superman responds.

We get new shots of Superman saving people, fighting the fire-breathing kaiju we’d already seen in previous trailers, getting revived by a blast of the sun, and what looks like a… disagreement with Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, who quips: “Make a move, Big Blue.” I’m sure they’re fast friends in the end.

Other new footage includes Krypto and Superman teaming up for what looks like a co-op finisher video game-style against one of Lex Luthor’s goons, Metropolis literally splitting in half, and a strange shot that shows Superman tied up in… something while holding what looks like an alien baby of some kind. Later on, Mister Terrific shouts at Superman while he’s lying on the ground, calling for him to “quit messing around.” Superman has an answer for that one, too.

And then the trailer ends with Superman in the sky, laser eye-beaming scores of Luthor’s goons.

Earlier this month we had Superman's runtime confirmed, as well as a denial from director and DCU steward James Gunn that parent company Warner Bros. had "forced" him to make the movie shorter.

Superman, which hits theaters July 11, clocks in at 2 hours 9 minutes inclusive of credits and post-credits, Gunn confirmed in a post on social network Threads. For context, that’s 15 minutes shorter than Henry Cavill’s 2013 film, Man of Steel.

So, the relatively brisk 2025 Superman has a lot to squeeze in. Following various trailer reveals, fans had already wondered how Superman would do justice to its supporting cast. Superman revolves around a trio of characters: Clark Kent / Superman, Lois Lane, and central antagonist Lex Luther, but there are a number of other superheroes and supervillains confirmed to appear.

All the characters revealed so far in Superman:

  • Superman
  • Lois Lane
  • Lex Luthor
  • Mister Terrific
  • Guy Gardner
  • Hawkgirl
  • Metamorpho
  • The Engineer
  • The Hammer of Boravia
  • Ultraman
  • Rick Flag Sr.
  • Supergirl
  • Maxwell Lord
  • Kryptonian robots, including Kelex
  • Krypto
  • Jonathan Kent
  • Martha Kent
  • Perry White
  • Jimmy Olsen
  • Steve Lombard
  • Cat Grant
  • Ron Troupe
  • Eve Teschmacher

Here we've gathered up some of the top deals available at the moment, including the new PS5 Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 bundle that dropped as part of Days of Play. There are some great game deals to highlight as well, including offers on Astro Bot, Helldivers 2, and so many more. Today's the last day of Days of Play, so make sure to grab the discounts that catch your eye while they're still available.

There's so much to enjoy with this summertime sale event, so let's jump right in. Here are IGN's top picks for the best PlayStation deals today.

Best PS5 Video Game Deals

The Days of Play sale has seen quite a few discounts on some exciting games. Helldivers 2 has dropped to $29.83, The Last of Us Part II Remastered is down to $29.83, and beloved GOTY winner at The Game Awards, Astro Bot, is down to $49.94. Woot has a massive video game sale going on as well that includes discounts on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Sniper Elite: Resistance Deluxe Edition, and many more.

PS5 Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Bundle

Disc Edition - $449.99 (was $570)

Digital Edition - $399.99 (was $420)

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 bundle runs for $399.99 for the digital console bundle or up to $449.99 for the disc console bundle. With each of these deals you're saving $119.99 compared to buying each item separately, which is a very nice offer to take advantage of while it's still available.

PS5 Pro Gets Its First Discount

The PS5 Pro has received a $50 discount in the Days of Play sale, dropping its price from $699.99 to $649. If you've been looking for a performance boost and have had your eye on this console, now is a good time to pick it up. Our PlayStation 5 Pro review from IGN's Michael Higham called it, "an impressive console with noticeable boosts in performance and graphics for games that take advantage of its powerful hardware."

PS5 DualSense Controllers Are $20 Off

If you've been waiting for a good time to pick up a new controller (or an extra for co-op), now's your chance. Thanks to Days of Play, several different colors of DualSense Controller are marked down at the moment. The DualSense Edge has also received a discount, which you can see below.

PS5 DualSense Edge Is Also on Sale

PSVR 2: Horizon Call of The Mountain Bundle Deal

The PSVR2 Horizon: Call of the Mountain bundle has received a $50 price drop as part of Days of Play, bringing its price down to $349. This package is a great value for everything you're getting (the PSVR2 headset and controllers alongside the Horizon Call of The Mountain game), and pushes the PSVR2 as a strong contender against budget-friendly VR options like the Meta Quest, delivering a premium virtual reality experience without the eye-watering cost.

Sony also gave the PSVR2 a new lease of life by adding PC VR support, allowing owners of the second-generation headset to play PC VR games like Half-Life: Alyx, provided they have the Sony-made adapter.

PS5 Accessory Deals

A bunch of different PlayStation accessories are on sale for Days of Play as well, from headphones and earbuds to console covers and more. You can see some of our favorite picks at the moment from the sale event above.

Best PS5 SSD Deals

PS5 games continue to grow in size, and with SSD prices climbing, finding the right storage at a great price is more important than ever. We've listed our favorite deals just here, but you should ensure you're checking back here for more updates as often as possible, as new SSD deals pop up all the time.

Keep in mind that not all SSDs are compatible with the PS5. To ensure optimal performance on the best PS5 SSD, you'll need a PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 drive with a minimum read speed of 5,500MB/s to match the console's internal storage.

PlayStation Plus Deals

  • Essential - $63.99 (was $80)
  • Extra - $101.24 (was $135)
  • Premium - $107.19 (was $160)

PS Plus 12-month plans are up to 33% off for Days of Play. That’s for people who aren’t currently subscribers. If you already have a PS Plus subscription, you can upgrade your plan to a higher tier and save 33% off the remainder of your membership.

Where to Buy: PlayStation Portal

The PlayStation Portal has come a long way since its launch. Initial skepticism surrounded the device, but over time, it has proven itself as a handy companion for PS5 owners.

Despite stock challenges and surges in demand, a new feature is making the Portal even more appealing to potential buyers. Sony rolled out an update for the PlayStation Portal, currently in opt-in beta, allowing PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers to stream games from the cloud.

This means you can now enjoy a library of games on the go—even if you don’t own a PS5. The update adds another compelling reason to consider the PlayStation Portal.

How to Trade in Your Old PlayStation Consoles

If you're looking to trade in your old PlayStation consoles, you can do so at select retailers in-store and online. Often, the most widely available retailers are GameStop and Best Buy. However, you can also trade your used devices online at retailers such as Amazon and Microsoft.

Some retailers will offer you cash for your used goods, while others may provide you with a gift card that can be used in-store and online. This is a great way to offload your old gaming gear and get some money that you can put towards a newer console and games.

While trading devices in at retailers will often net you the lowest amount for your used consoles, there are also online marketplaces such as eBay, Craigslist, and OfferUp that may fetch higher prices, but you'll often be responsible for packing and shipping costs, or be required to meet someone in person for the transaction. The latter of which poses its own risks.

Rebirth Board Game Review

11 juin 2025 à 18:42

If gaming has an equivalent to A-list celebrities, then the only person in the frame for that honor would be German designer Reiner Knizia. He made his name in the mid-late '90s with a slew of brilliant games like Ra and Battle Line, which struck a beautiful balance between luck, strategy and player interaction, so much so that the latter still ranks among our picks for the best 2-player board games today. His games were so well received that they’d make a memorable legacy for any designer but, astonishingly, the hits just keep on coming. Last year saw him produce the brilliant Cascadero and now, age 67, he’s come out with the appropriately titled Rebirth.

What’s in the Box

Since this is a tile-laying game, there are a lot of tiles to punch: 144 of them to be exact, across four player colors. These are the most disappointing aspects of production, small, fiddly, slightly flimsy counters that are easily lost and feel like they will wear quickly with the frequent handling required. Each player also gets a little clan board to store spare counters, a score marker and a fun, if superfluous, balloon you flip over when you reach a hundred points.

Thereafter the component quality goes through the roof. The board is double-sided with a map of Scotland on one side and Ireland on the other. The art is lush and green, depicting the titular rebirth: the theme of this game is rebuilding civilization in harmony with nature after an apocalypse. That doesn’t really come through in the mechanics – as is often the case with Knizia – but it certainly does through the presentation.

Yet the board layout is clear and functional despite all the little artistic flourishes you can enjoy. The accompanying decks of cards don’t have any art but are still presented in a matching style and are equally clear and usable.

In keeping with the theme, each player also gets a set of 3D castle and cathedral pieces, intricately detailed sculptures of celtic-style buildings. They’re really delightful, not only for the visual aesthetics but because they’re not cold plastic but feel like pleasantly-textured resin. In fact, they’re RE-Wood, a new technology that allows recycled wood to be molded in great detail while still remaining recyclable. It’s lovely stuff, which we will hopefully see much more of in future releases.

Rules and How it Plays

Rebirth is actually two related games in one box. There’s a basic version, played on the Scotland side of the board and a more advanced version, played on the Ireland side. The rules for Scotland are incredibly straightforward. On your turn, you pick up a tile in your supply. If it shows a food or energy symbol, you can place it on any hex showing the same icon, and it will score you points equal to the number of continuous adjacent matching tokens. If it shows one or more house symbols you can place it in a town, a delineated area which isn’t scored until it's full, at which time it scores points for the players with the most house symbols in the group.

Many hexes are also adjacent to castles or cathedrals. If you place in one of these, you can assign one of your delightful RE-wood pieces to the adjacent feature. Castles are worth a handy five points at the end of the game, but there’s a catch. If another player can get more adjacent hexes to a castle you own than you have, then they can remove your castle piece and replace it with theirs. Cathedrals, by contrast, can be shared. Each one you place allows you to draw a mission card, which you can fulfil for extra points.

That's pretty much the whole deal. Yet in Knizia’s trademark near-magical style, these easy rules blossom into a whole set of madly competing priorities from the very first placement. Castles are worth immediate points, but they have to be defended, and the missions cathedrals grant can be worth more in the long run, so getting them early gives you more control into the endgame. Is it worth more to capture a castle or cathedral over extending a run of tiles and getting bigger points? Are any of these more valuable than blocking an opponent’s run of tiles, or progressing a mission card instead? And let’s not even start on the relative merits of when and if to finish filling out a town.

In Knizia’s trademark near-magical style, these easy rules blossom into a whole set of madly competing priorities from the very first placement.

All these competing priorities make the process of placing a single tile far more engaging and dynamic than it sounds. Most don’t have hard answers, and take experience and educated guesswork to muddle through, ensuring the game doesn’t get bogged down in analysis paralysis. And as things progress and placement options become more limited, the race for control of castles and to finish missions ensures that there’s no let-up in terms of tension as options dwindle. Well-timed and well-placed late tiles can be crucial in determining the overall victor.

At the same time, the fact you pull a random tile each turn gives more longevity than you might anticipate to playing over and over on the same map. Because of the chaotic tile order and the interactions between the players, no two games unfold in the same way. And, although the game does get more interesting – and slightly longer – as you add players, it’s still a lot of fun with two, though three players is a sweet spot. This is, however, where the simplicity of the base design begins to show some weakness. Once you’ve learned the ins and out of the Scotland map, the game does start to feel a little lightweight.

This, of course, is the ideal time to move to Ireland. The basic rules for castles and placement are the same, although there’s a bigger town and a lot of unmarked hexes where you can place either food or energy tiles as you prefer. Cathedrals have been replaced with towers, adjacency to which wins you a bonus depending on a random tile assigned to the tower such as a score bonus, or an immediate extra turn. The mission cards you earned from cathedrals are replaced with eight public cards which are all a race, giving top points to the first player to complete, and a more modest reward for those who manage it thereafter.

So: you still have all the same competing priorities you had to juggle when you were playing Scotland. But, on top of that, it dumps a whole load of additional stuff to consider from the very first turn: you’ve got an additional eight public missions, and six different tower effects. While it isn’t a big step up in terms of rules weight, it feels like a huge step up in terms of depth, especially for the first few games on the new board, when the sheer number of factors you need to consider when placing one tile can be almost crushing. It’s a very different kind of depth to the slowly snowballing web of actions and resources that characterize more complex strategy board games because it’s front-loaded, but it’s depth nevertheless.

It’s almost too much in terms of adding to the decision-making, especially for more casual players, but it’s inarguable that it’s an effective way to address concerns that the Scotland side of the board is too straightforward. However, it can weirdly reduce the sense of competition for board space that Scotland has. With so many other priorities, the uncertain rewards of blocking other players, or trying to steal their castles, tend to take a backseat. Over time, as you get used to all the competing demands, Ireland shows its own rewards as a slower, more reflective, but still very engaging version of the game.

Every Sonic Game on the Nintendo Switch in 2025

11 juin 2025 à 18:39

If you want a single platform to play games at home and on the go, the Nintendo Switch has got your back. Even better if you're a fan of Sonic: Ever since the Switch arrived in 2017, Sega has worked like clockwork to consistently release Sonic games for the hybrid console. Last year we got Sonic x Shadow Generations alongside the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie, so it's safe to say Sega's speedster is bigger than ever.

Now that the Switch 2 has officially launched, it's pretty much guaranteed more Sonic games are on the way. Thankfully, the system's backward compatibility means your existing Sonic games aren't going anywhere. For anyone looking to check out the modern era of Sonic (and friends), here are all the Sonic the Hedgehog games you can play right now as well as upcoming Sonic games on the Switch 2.

How Many Sonic Games Are There on Nintendo Switch?

A total of nine Sonic games have been released for Nintendo Switch. This spans the first year of the system back in 2017 to the most recent game, Sonic x Shadows, released in October 2024. Keep in mind that this list below does not include the games available with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Every Sonic Game Released on the Switch (in Release Order)

Sonic Mania (2017)

Sonic Mania was developed by PagodaWest Games and Sonic fangame community member Christian Whitehead as a love letter to the classic Sonic the Hedgehog titles released on the Sega Genesis and Sega CD platforms. Taking place after the events of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, the game remixes eight iconic levels, including Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant Zone, and introduces five new ones, including the glamorous Studiopolis Zone and the peaceful Press Garden Zone. This game also introduces a new troupe of Eggbots called the Hard-Boiled Heavies for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles to beat.

Mania is considered one of the best Sonic games of the 2010s because of the experiment in allowing a group of Sonic fans to create a game other Sonic fans would love, the vivid neon graphics, and the new challenges present in every stage.

Sonic Forces (2017)

Sonic Forces makes Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic form a resistance against Dr. Eggman after he conquered most of the world alongside Infinite, a masked jackal who uses the Phantom Ruby to create doppelgangers and warp reality. The game switches gameplay modes between third-person Boost gameplay with Modern Sonic, side-scrolling gameplay with Classic Sonic, and a mode with the custom avatar character, which can be any animal you want, whose weapons use Wisp power-ups. Forces’ writing and lighting aren’t exactly the best in the series, but the game is still tolerable for some people.

Team Sonic Racing (2019)

Team Sonic Racing takes racing games to a whole new level by having players race with each other, not against each other. This game has a cooperative gameplay mechanic similar to Splatoon and Overwatch, using Sonic Heroes as a frame of reference, where you play in teams of three characters and work together to win each race, paying very close attention to your teammates’ performance and sharing Wisp power-ups with them to allow them to speed up and pull your ranks. Since most of the karts are sports cars, you can customize them with gold rims and paint your car any color you want West Coast Customs style.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 (2019)

Released a year before the real-life Tokyo Olympic Games was scheduled to begin (only to be postponed to 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic), Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 brings the platform rivalry between the jolly red plumber, the speedy blue hedgehog, and their respective friends back to the world stage with new events, like surfing, skateboarding, karate, and sport climbing, and bonus features. The game includes a story mode that takes Mario and Sonic back to the Tokyo 1964 Olympics and their early 2D sprite selves, while everyone else works to help bring them back to the real world in the present day. You get the best of both eras and some history lessons about the Olympic Games in Tokyo to go with it.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate (2021)

Sonic Colors: Ultimate is a remastered version of the original Sonic Colors developed by Blind Squirrel Games for Sonic’s 30th anniversary in 2021. The remaster enhanced the graphics to brighten up the colors of Eggman’s interplanetary amusement park and the character models, introduced a new Jade Ghost Wisp to help Sonic phase through walls and ceilings, replaced the traditional lives with rescues from Tails, and introduced mini races against Metal Sonic. You can also collect Park Tokens to customize Sonic with the wackiest designs for his shoes and gloves.

Sonic Origins (2022)

Sonic Origins compiles the first four classic Sonic games released on the Sega Genesis and Sega CD and remasters them for modern consoles and the audience that plays on them, whether they’re veteran fans seeking a nostalgia fix or young fans who want to understand Sonic’s history. Players can experience the game in Classic Mode, which is the original format presented in a 4:3 aspect ratio, or Anniversary Mode, which replaces lives with coins and allows Sonic to use Drop Dash as he did in Sonic Mania. Each game in the compilation features new animated cutscenes at the beginning and end done by the incomparable Tyson Heese to connect all four games into a cohesive story, provided you play them in the original release order.

Sonic Frontiers (2022)

Sonic Frontiers is the first open-world game in the Sonic franchise – or should we say, “open-zone”? – born out of a trend of open-world games being styled after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Sonic explores the vast Starfall Islands to fight cybernetic enemies, solve various puzzles, and run through Cyber Space levels modeled after the levels from past Sonic titles in an effort to save his friends from the digitized dimension. Both veteran and new Sonic fans alike will enjoy running around the mysterious island set to a soundtrack that strikes a delicate balance between serenity and chaos.

Sonic Superstars (2023)

Sonic Superstars is a collaborative effort between Sega and Arzest to bring 3D graphics to a Classic Sonic game, a move that surprised everyone at the 2023 Summer Game Fest (including this author). With Classic Sonic being a CGI character on his own for the first time and classic levels getting revamped with new music and upgraded level designs, the game allows up to four people to locally play together as Sonic and his friends throughout 11 levels across the Northstar Islands and grants new powers for every Chaos Emerald they collect to overcome obstacles.

Sonic X Shadow Generations (2024)

Team Sonic's latest is Sonic X Shadow Generations, a remastered version of 2011's Sonic Generation that goes beyond graphical upgrades and quality-of-life improvements by including an all-new campaign comprised of reminagined Shadow stages from past Sonic games. The two campaigns combine for 15-20 hours of content across over 150 stages, leading us to say in our Shadow x Generations review that it "soars far and above previous enhanced versions we've gotten in the Sonic franchise."

More Sonic Games Available with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

If you're looking to play some classic Sonic games with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, there are a few available under the SEGA catalog. You can find more info about them below:

Upcoming Sonic Games on the Switch

2024 was a big year for Sonic fans between the release of a new game (Sonic X Shadow Generations) and movie (Sonic the Hedgehog 3). An upcoming Sonic game, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, was announced at the 2024 Game Awards and is set to release on the Switch (as well as PC, PS5, and Xbox) on September 25. The game follows up on 2019's Team Sonic Racing, featuring the full set of Sonic characters as well as new crossover racers like Joker, Hatsune Miku, and Steve from Minecraft. You can check out IGN's preview of the new Sonic racing game for more details.

Outside of games, Paramount has confirmed it will make Sonic the Hedgehog 4. The movie is targeting a Spring 2027 release window.

The lineup of nine games to be made available across the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers was announced in a PlayStation.Blog post. Every game on the list will be available to download for subscribers starting June 17, 2025, less than one week from today, June 11.

Remedy Entertainment’s FBC: Firebreak is the headliner here. It’s three-player FPS action that launches for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers on day one.

The multiplayer fun rolls on with DICE’s near-future shooter, Battlefield 2042, which comes to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog June 2025 lineup as the team at EA continues its work on a new, untitled Battlefield entry. If shooters aren’t your thing, titles such as Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2, We Love Katamari Reroll + Reroll Reverie, and Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes are here to add some variety to your gaming plans. Deals For Today: MTG Preorders And Save On AirPods with AppleCare+

11 juin 2025 à 18:30

Another day and another boatload of deals for anyone looking for new AirPods, Beats and big brand EarBuds. We've also got the latest stock updates and preorders for Pokémon TCG and highly anticipated Magic: The Gathering sets such as Final Fantasy, Spider-Man and Edge of Eternities.

TL;DR: Deals For Today

I've also had a look at some of the most sought-after Final Fantasy and Pokémon TCG: Destined Rivals single cards, with the latter mostly on sale under market value right now. It's certainly a better deal than buying sealed big-box retailer product right now, but it's nice to have options, right? I've even found a cracking deal on 4K Blu Rays, picking out some of the best options for a "Buy one get one for 50%" offer. And yes, it includes the Lord of the Rings trilogy (theatrical and extended). Let's get into it:

MTG Final Fantasy And Spider-Man Preorders

It's mad how Final Fantasy and Spider-Man products are still available to preorder after the initial pre-sale flying off digital shelves. My take on these sets is to preorder whilst you can, the pricing on these sets are only going to go above MSRP on release day.

MTG Final Fantasy: Best-Selling Presale Cards

I usually share immensely cool Cloud and Sephiroth cards that belong in a slab in someones collection, but all of these cards are what MTG players are going for right now. Looking to build a deck instead of collect MTG Final Fantasy? Snap these up before other players realise how playable they are.

MTG Spider-Man Single Card Pre-Sale

Whilst it's early days for MTG MArvel's Spider-Man coming later this year, snapping up early deals on Spidey and his rogues gallery is going to look sick in anyones MTG binder. I might not get around to playing this, but I just want these scene box cards for my TCG display shelves.

Magic The Gathering Edge of Eternities Preorders

Sci-Fi buffs will find MTG: Edge of Eternities a cracking entry point into one of the hottest trading cards games on the planet. If going to the edges of the MTG multiverse to battle it out in the name of cosmic power in the heart of a dying star doesn't grab you, I don't know what will.

Magic: The Gathering Stock Updates

Big box retailers are squeezing us on pricing right now, but there's still some deals to be had. I'm liking the look of the Lord of the Rings Scene Box bundle, but stretching to the commander decks would make for one hell of a games night.

Pokémon TCG Stock Updates

Another day of ridiculous pricing on Amazon for Pokémon TCG sealed products, but keeping an eye on it so you all have options is still important. If you can't find other sealed products for a decent price, I can almost guarantee the market value on TCG Player is cheaper right now.

Destined Rivals: The Most Valuable Cards

On a more positive note, Destined Rivals top chase card prices are stablising, making it a great time to snap some up. Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex SIR has been going for anything over $450 since release, but is starting to settle on a more respectable $370.

Apple AirPods Sale

The big sell with this AirPods sale is the free AppleCare+, with some decent savings on the hardware itself for good measure. They're all solid choices, but i'd personally snap up AirPods 4 as they're currently the same sale price as their third generation variant.

Beats Earbuds and Headphones Sale

No, I didn't forget about Dre thanks, and neither did Amazon. If you want Apple quality without the basic white branding, Beats are the way forward. They all come with AppleCare+ or AppleCare for headphones too, with the exception of a $25 Amazon Gift card for Beats Fit Pro.

Samsung and Sony Ear Buds

Samsung and Sony are two personal audio brands you can set your smart watch too, and I'm seriously tempted to sink some money into Sony WH-1000XM5 whilst they're on offer. The noise cancelling is best-in-class, and those cans pack some serious punch.

4K Blu Ray Sale: Buy 2, Save 50% on 1

Amazon is at it again with a cracking promotion on Blu Ray, 4K Blu Ray and DVDs with a Buy 2, save 50% on 1 deal. There's currently over 1000 qualifying items here, but here's some of my favorite picks. Seeing the Lord of the Rings trilogy in this is a banging deal, but this offer is also a great way to get your physical media collection off to a healthy start without burning your bank card out.

Woodkid for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach 2LP Vinyl

Experience the haunting soundscape of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach with this deluxe 2LP vinyl from Woodkid. It features 16 tracks, including collabs with Elle Fanning and Bryce Dessner, pressed on translucent vinyl and housed in a metallic case. Pre-order now ahead of the Sept. 26 release.

Stranger Things Star David Harbour Is Ready For the Series To End: 'How Much More Story Is There?'

11 juin 2025 à 18:20

It’s been a decade since Stranger Things star David Harbour stepped into the shoes of Chief Jim Hopper — but it seems that he’s finally ready to be hanging up the badge.

"You get to a certain point where you’re like, 'How much more story is there?' You’re having to play a lot of the same beat," Harbour told Scarlett Johansson during a conversation between them for Interview Magazine. "And there’s a feeling where you’re like, 'I want to take a risk. I want to do something that people haven’t seen me do before.' So yeah, after 10 years, it’s like, 'Okay.'"

That said, it was definitely a truly exciting experience for him in the early days. "When I started, I loved it so much," Harbour explained in the chat. "Buddies of mine who'd done TV shows for many years said, 'By season three or four you’ll be running.' And I was like, 'Never! I love all these guys so much.'"

It makes sense that Harbour would be having this particular conversation with Johansson, as both of them have spent time in enduring franchises. Harbour has been part of the Stranger Things universe from the beginning, but he is also a Marvel alum as well, having portrayed Red Guardian in Black Widow and again Thunderbolts*. In the chat, she noted that she also had feelings that her “identity” had been so deeply entwined with Marvel for many years, to the point where it hindered her ability to even change her appearance.

"It’s the same thing with this show,” Harbour noted. “There’d be certain seasons where you feel like, 'I’m going to go in this different direction.' But as you say, a piece of your psyche is occupied with this group of people and this storyline. I don’t paint my nails, but I get that idea of 'I can’t get a haircut' or 'I can’t shave this freaking mustache.'"

Season 5 of Stranger Things, the show’s final season, is set to premiere on Netflix on November 26 — but this will only be the first part of that final season, consisting of four episodes. The next three episodes that make up part two are set to drop on Christmas and the finale episode will premiere on New Year's Eve.

One Elden Ring Nightreign Player Shows the Power of the Humble Wraith Calling Bell By Clearing the Final Boss

11 juin 2025 à 17:48

FromSoftware games have a history of "unconventional" weapons and attire. In fact, compared to players with a jar on their head or the bubble-sprayer, a Wraith Calling Bell is not too strange. It's fascinating, though, to watch one player clear the big bad of Elden Ring Nightreign with the bell.

YouTuber Syrobe posted a solo Recluse run yesterday where, throughout the outing, they took down Nightreign's final Nightlord Heolstor using just the Wraith Calling Bell. It's a great run to watch, and also highlights some interesting tech being discovered in Elden Ring Nightreign right now.

Through the whole run, you can see Syrobe ringing and flinging the little ghosts from the bell at their foes. Now, the Wraith Calling Bell is not an imposing weapon; it's a little bell that the player rings, and then a small wraith floats out and damages the enemy. By itself, it might already seem like an uphill battle to clear bosses with this instead of some of Elden Ring's more tried-and-true armaments.

Much of this victory emerged from patience, skill, and really good play from Syrobe. There are some aspects that have helped, though. Namely, the technique Syrobe shows off at the beginning of the video, allowing players to be more mobile while casting spells, or in this case, ringing bells. It's a pretty handy bit of tech for the magic casters out there that I recommend writing down and trying out later.

Otherwise, Syrobe locks in and focuses on building a run that can enhance all the necessary aspects for winning. Generating solid FP recovery, picking up some solid upgrades and items, and putting together a route for solo success. Yes, keep in mind, this is a solo victory.

The fascinating thing is, Syrobe is not the only one putting up great clears and exploring the power of the Wraith-Calling Bell. A few other YouTubers have been ringing the bell over this item's power, and others have posted their own clears of bosses like Heolstor. Discussion has picked up on social forums on whether this item does, in fact, need some tuning and attention from FromSoftware.

"It's a reasonable early game option for caster focused people," said one user on r/Nightreign. "It's hardly any more OP as an early than exec having bleed on his weapon and absolutely chonking church and keep 'bosses' every 3 hits..."

Several point out, though, that it's not necessarily a broken item, but simply a useful boost for early game casting runs where you can't find the tools you need. Whether the Bell truly needs a tuning, it does seem like it's made quite an impact on Elden Ring Nightreign over the last few days.
