Take-Two Boss Unconcerned by Plummeting PS5 and Xbox Sales, Insists GTA 6 Will Cause 'A Meaningful Uptick in Console Sales' in 2025

10 février 2025 à 12:41

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch fall 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S only, leaving one platform in particular out in the cold: PC.

It’s an omission in keeping with developer Rockstar’s playbook for its previous games, but in 2025 feels outdated. And, given the increasing importance of the PC for a multiplatform game’s success, is GTA 6’s no-show on PC a missed opportunity or even a mistake?

IGN put that question to Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick ahead of the company’s recent financial results, and in his response he teased GTA 6’s eventual release on PC.

“So with Civ 7 it's available on console and PC and Switch right away,” Zelnick said of Firaxis' recently launched Civilization 7. “With regard to others in our lineup, we don't always go across all platforms simultaneously. Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms.”

Rockstar fans have noted the studio's historical reluctance to release other past games on PC day-and-date with console, as well as its fraught relationship with the modding community over the years. Still, some had hoped that a game as big as GTA 6 could be a turning point for the studio's PC gaming attitude.

Big Rockstar titles tend to get to PC eventually, but the question of how long PC gamers will have to wait for what could end up being one of the biggest games ever remains. Given GTA 6’s fall 2025 release window, which Take-Two is still confident in, it seems likely PC players won’t get to play the game until 2026 at the earliest.

In December 2023, a former developer at Rockstar attempted to explain why GTA 6 is coming to PC after it hits PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, and called on PC gamers to give the studio the “benefit of the doubt” over its controversial launch plans.

But how big of a missed opportunity could skipping PC for GTA 6’s launch be? Zelnick told IGN that the PC version of a multiplatform game can generate 40% of overall sales, or even more with certain games.

That stat came as part of a discussion about the current console generation, which has seen sales of the PS5 and Xbox Series X and S — the two consoles GTA 6 launches on later this year — plummet. While Nintendo has the Switch 2 waiting in the wings, neither Sony nor Microsoft have announced their next-gen consoles. How long before the industry needs the PlayStation 6 and whatever Xbox is next?

Zelnick pointed to the PC platform as growing in importance, even as console sales fall, while publishers wait for Sony and Microsoft’s next moves.

“We have seen PC become a much more and more important part of what used to be a console business, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that trend continue,” he said. “Of course, there will be a new console generation.”

In any case, according to Zelnick, the release of GTA 6, which is expected to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time, will drive console sales as fans jump into the current generation for the first time in order to play the game.

“When you have a big title in the market and we have many of them coming, historically that has sold consoles,” Zelnick said.

“And I think that will happen this year. I don't think tariffs are going to be our friend, but I think there will be a meaningful uptick in console sales in calendar 25 because of the release schedule, not just coming from us, but coming from others. So I'm not concerned about that [console sales falling]. I think the trend that you'd want to focus on is this increasing share of the market that is reflected in PC.”

Indeed, many see the PlayStation 5 Pro as a future 'GTA 6 machine,' in the hopes it will be the best platform to play the game when it comes out. However, tech experts believe the PS5 Pro probably won't run GTA 6 at 4K60.

Dragon Quest 12 Information to Be Revealed 'Little by Little,' Series Creator Yuji Horii Says

10 février 2025 à 11:52

Dragon Quest 12 is still in development and information will be released “little by little,” series creator Yuji Horii has said.

As reported by Automaton, Horii said the development team at Square Enix is “working hard” on Dragon Quest 12, while on a livestream with his radio show group KosoKoso Hōsō Kyoku.

It’s the first update on the game since May 2024, when Horii noted the deaths of Dragon Quest character designer Akira Toriyama and composer Koichi Sugiyama. The series’ lead producer Yu Miyake had by that point already stepped down from his position to lead Square Enix’s mobile game division.

Fans had expressed concern that Dragon Quest 12 might have been canceled amid restructuring at Square Enix and a lack up updates, but Horii’s latest comments appear to confirm the game is still in the works.

Dragon Quest 12 was announced as part of the series' 35th anniversary celebration and will be the first mainline entry since 2017's Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age.

Since then, Square Enix has said Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake exceeded sales expectations after selling 2 million copies.

Fans React to Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl PlayStation Easter Egg

10 février 2025 à 03:52

Football fans spent months preparing for Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show, but no one was expecting to see the artist take another dig at Drake with a stadium-sized PlayStation Easter Egg.

Most of the rapper’s set went off as expected. While the crowd cheered to spins on hits from records like DAMN and GNX, appearances from stars like Samuel Jackson and SZA helped take the show to new heights. Of course, there were plenty of references to Lamar’s infamous 2024 beef with Drake, too, but what audiences didn’t expect was how the Super Bowl performer chose to finally close the door on the former Degrassi star. As the lights went down, the words “Game Over” could be seen illuminated on the side of the stadium, while the stage was revealed to feature PlayStation’s iconic cross, circle, triangle, and square symbols.

Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show was always going to be seen as a victory lap when it came to his beef with Drake, but bringing Sony into the fight to finally close that chapter in grand fashion felt especially brutal. Although it’s not quite clear why the To Pimp a Butterfly artist chose to seemingly channel PlayStation for the end of his year-long fight, music and gaming fans have taken to social media to share their appreciation for the dig nonetheless. At the very least, Lamar’s already great performance might be better on rewatch once you realize the stage is one big video game reference.

Serena Williams, Samuel Jackson, PlayStation references, the GNX, the whole stadium yelling "AMINORR" ugh the dancers in red, white & blue, SZA?! Thank you Kendrick. The revolution will be televised. pic.twitter.com/cKazFowRIC

— Nelly J. 🇯🇲 (@Xo__Jenny) February 10, 2025

With Lamar’s show now finally putting the beef to bed, it’s hard not to look at the weekend as one of PlayStation’s biggest (and strangest) ever. Aside from its surprise spot in the Super Bowl halftime show, the gaming company found itself making headlines on Friday and Saturday morning when gamers were locked out of accessing PSN for an extended period of time. The unscheduled event saw fans unable to play any online titles for around a full day, resulting in one of the longest periods of downtime since the infamous outage of 2011. PlayStation was eventually able to bring PSN back online later yesterday and has stated it will be gifting PlayStation Plus users an additional five days onto their subscriptions.

Meanwhile, the Super Bowl still has time to go, and that means more trailers and commercials for some of the biggest movies and TV shows of 2025. Highlights so far include teasers for Jurassic World Rebirth, Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, and Thunderbolts*. For everything included in this year's Big Game, you can see our commercial roundup here.

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning Super Bowl Trailer Packs in Nostalgia and More Tom Cruise Stunts

10 février 2025 à 02:27

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning is shaping up to be one of 2025’s biggest movies, so Tom Cruise and co made sure to make a splash with a nostalgic Super Bowl LIX trailer ahead of its theatrical premiere this May.

The 30-second Big Game spot, unsurprisingly, starts with Cruise on the run before showing familiar shots from the action franchise’s first installment and the faces hero Ethan Hunt has met along the way. The get-together includes names like Ving Rhames’ Luther, Simon Pegg’s Benji, Hayley Atwell’s Grace, and Pom Klementieff’s Paris as audiences get more sneak peeks at some of the death-defying stunts the crew will pull off for their latest impossible mission. Cruise’s biplane scene still takes the cake as what might be the series’ gnarliest yet, though it looks like Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning still has a few surprises up its sleeve.

This year's Mission Impossible installment picks up after the events of 2023's Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning. That means the nearly two-year-long wait to see the conclusion to this latest saga is nearly at an end, though the franchise's future after this remains a mystery.

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning comes to theaters May 23, 2025. If you need to play catch up before Cruise's latest premieres, you can see where to watch every film in the series here. For more on the Big Game, you can see our collection of all of the biggest commercials and trailers here.

AU Deals: A Freebie Zombie Army 4, 170 Bucks off Borderlands, $116 off a Turtle Beach 700, and More!

10 février 2025 à 01:52

Welcome to another week stacked with incredible savings on some of the best games and gear across Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. Whether you're a strategy buff, an RPG addict, or just looking for a killer gaming accessory, there’s something for everyone. Oh, and a decent load of freebies, too!

In crusty gamer news, I’m summoning sweary imps to bake a 13-shaped cake for The Darkness II. Though I didn't adore this as much as the non-cel-shaded Starbreeze Studios original at launch, how could I not greedily devour any game starring Jackie Estacado, the best “dark hero” this side of Spawn. Basically, this was a power fantasy of an FPS where akimbo pistoles held as much importance as your heart-eating demon tentacles and black hole conjurations. Also, the idea of having Jackie tell us gruesome mobster factoids during load screens? Absolute chef’s kiss.

How to Train Your Dragon Remake Super Bowl Trailer Teases Fiery Battles for Hiccup and Toothless

10 février 2025 à 01:43

Dreamworks’ live-action How to Train Your Dragon remake swooped into the Big Game with a Super Bowl LIX commercial that shows off even more from the remake of Toothless and Hiccup’s adventure.

It’s a brief look at the 2025 film, mostly showing off how the movie will handle some of the classic project’s more action-y sequences. That means a better look at dragon flight and more close moments between Hiccup and his scaly partner as they outrun fire-breathing beasts both big and small. The teaser mostly serves to whet moviegoers' appetites ahead of what will surely be a longer trailer this Wednesday.

“On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames; The Black Phone, For All Mankind) stands apart,” a synopsis for the How to Train Your Dragon remake says. “The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, reprising his voice role from the animated franchise), Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society.”

Dreamworks revealed a first look at its live-action How to Train Your Dragon with its debut trailer in November of last year. The footage mostly set the stage for Mason Thames to take up the mantle of Hiccup, who was voiced by Jay Baruchel in the original animated movie. That trailer also reintroduced movie fans to characters and locations that they'll remember from the first movie, while also debuting Gerard Butler's return as Stoick the Vast.

We’ll see more from the live-action How to Train Your Dragon when the full trailer premieres this Wednesday. Expect the remake to come to theaters June 13. While we wait for more, you can see all of the biggest Big Game trailers in our roundup.

Thunderbolts* Reappears With Action-Packed Super Bowl Trailer and a First Look at Sentry

10 février 2025 à 01:12

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) preps to unleash Red Hulk with Captain America: Brave New World this week, Marvel gave fans a closer look at Thunderbolts* with a new Super Bowl LIX trailer that highlights the group's many different skills as well as what seems to be a sneak peek at its main villain, Sentry.

The commercial aired as part of the Big Game today, highlighting characters like Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and more. It’s an action-packed video that only gave football fans a taste of what’s in store, with the full two-and-a-half-minute trailer showing up online to reveal even more from Marvel’s latest. Additionally, in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, we seem to get a few glimpses at Lewis Pullman's Sentry as he wreaks havoc on an unsuspecting MCU.

Thunderbolts* is the MCU's latest team-up movie. This time, however, the group is a bit more Suicide Squad than Guardians of the Galaxy, as many of its characters have dabbled in the bad guy life at one point or another. The film puts faces from across the superhero universe's movies and shows in the spotlight, including characters from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and more. How the story will connect to the grand MCU plan remains to be seen.

We’ll learn about how the Thunderbolts will come together when it premieres May 2, 2025. While we wait to see what else the MCU is cooking up, you can check out every major Super Bowl commercial in our roundup here. You can also check out everything we know about Sentry, including his powers, origin, and comic book history here.

Jurassic World Rebirth Super Bowl Trailer Reveals More Dinosaur Carnage Ahead of Summer Premiere

10 février 2025 à 00:50

Jurassic World Rebirth stomped into Super Bowl LIX with a special trailer that showed off even more dinosaur action ahead of its July 2025 premiere.

Stars Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali steal this spotlight in this latest footage, but only until a pack of prehistoric beasts runs in to give audiences a taste of what’s in store. While the video shares a lot in common with the trailer Universal premiered last week, it’s still a solid look at the next Jurassic Park movie before it arrives this summer.

Jurassic World Rebirth will go in a different direction following the most recent trilogy, which concluded with Jurassic World Dominion in 2022. Sci-fi and monster movie veteran Gareth Edwards is taking over directing duties from Colin Trevorrow, as this latest film in the long-running series seeks to break new ground with fresh faces and a new story. It's unclear how closely Jurassic World Rebirth will be tied to the movies that came before, but we at least know that it is set sometime in the near future.

“Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs,” a synopsis for Jurassic World Rebirth says. “Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”

Expect to see more about how the entry fits into the franchise before it releases in theaters July 2, 2025. For all the other Super Bowl commercials revealed during today's Big Game, you can see our roundup here.

Jurassic World Rebirth Super Bowl Trailer Reveals More Dinosaur Carnage Ahead of Summer Premiere

Jurassic World Rebirth has roared its way in the Super Bowl with another look at the newest entry in the beloved franchise that is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025. While the footage has some in common with the most recent trailer, we do get to see a bit more of the journey to come.

Thunderbolts* Trailer Shows What Happens When the Avengers Don't Show Up

The latest Thunderbolts* trailer begins with Valentina Allegra de Fontaine speaking in a court and saying, "The Avengers are not coming. Who will keep the American people safe?" She is clearly taking this to heart and will be the one gathering Yelena, Bucky, John Walker, Red Guardian, Ghost, and Taskmaster together for an important mission.

We get another look at this mission with this group who would hardly call themselves "superheroes." However, they will have to step up and be the heroes the MCU needs when Thunderbolts* arrives in theaters on May 2, 2025.

Stitch Crashes the Super Bowl In Lilo & Stitch's Big Game Spot

Stitch thought it would be a great idea to crash the Super Bowl for Lilo & Stitch's Big Game Spot and we get to see a bunch of people fail miserably trying to catch our favorite alien. To end the ad, Stitch steals a car and crashes into the goal post. Don't worry though as he is totally fine and continues his reign of chaos!

Captain America Recap: The Messy Marvel Timeline That Led to Brave New World

9 février 2025 à 14:00

We don’t want to say anything too obvious here, but the further we get into the MCU, the more stuff happens. And the closer we get to the end of a phase, some Marvel projects find themselves in the uncomfortable position of having to tie up a ton of loose threads in service of a broader plot. With The Fantastic Four: First Steps just around the corner, and technically ringing in a whole new phase, Captain America: Brave New World seems to be in that exact situation.

The events that have led us here go all the way back to 2008 and are now scattered across Disney+ series and movies alike, and not necessarily in a good way. So here follows a messy account of all the loose ends that wound up on Sam Wilson’s to-do list.

There have been moments throughout Marvel's nearly 20 years of storytelling dominance that have more business to take care of, so to speak. Going all the way back to Iron Man 2, some MCU titles don’t have the luxury of just telling their own story, and in recent years you can argue that none of them have. But the need to tie up loose ends in any given project is more present than ever in Marvel films now, and it gets more complicated the more characters bob and weave through the canon. Sam Wilson’s first solo outing as the official Captain America seems to be one of those projects that drew the short straw, with more than a little thread-pulling to do.

Sam’s road to wielding the shield is the straightest path to the events of Brave New World. First appearing in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier while running slower than Steve Rogers would like, Sam started his MCU tenure as a VA counselor, helping veterans readjust to life back at home. After proving himself by helping to root HYDRA out of SHIELD, he quickly became Steve’s most trusted right hand… err left I guess is the side he’s always on. By the time Avengers: Age of Ultron’s final moments rolled around, Falcon was a full-fledged Avenger. Captain America: Civil War finds him so entrenched he’s heading off to prison with the rest of Team Cap. And this is where the path to Brave New World gets well and truly muddy.

Going all the way back to Iron Man 2, some MCU titles don’t have the luxury of just telling their own story, and in recent years you can argue that none of them have.

Before he becomes Captain America, Sam meets Thaddeus Ross in Civil War at the Avengers Compound and likely again while being incarcerated at The Raft, gets reluctantly chummy with Bucky and very briefly crosses paths with Sharon Carter before going on the run with Team Cap all the way through the events of Infinity War. There he joins the battle against Thanos in Wakanda only to be dusted – and just kinda not exist for five years before coming back to battle Thanos again, but this time on the winning team. Cut to old man Rogers back from his time-travel adventures keeping Hulk’s promise to the Ancient One, and gifting Sam a shiny new shield that came from… somewhere in the past, or maybe an alternate timeline, because the original one was for sure chopped in half. Will we finally find out where that shield came from in Brave New World?

And that’s not even including The Falcon and The Winter Solider, where he finally took on the mantle of Captain America after a lot of hemming and hawing. So where Brave New World open questions are concerned, let’s start there.

Where’s Bucky?

We loved Bucky and Sam’s frenemy energy in Civil War, and it was nice to see the two former partners of Captain America bond in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. So on the one hand, it’s kind of surprising that Bucky isn’t back for Brave New World. He has been in every other Cap movie to date, after all. But then again, it’s a big ol’ Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he has other places to be.

Namely, James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is audience bait on another big tentpole movie for Kevin Feige. Thunderbolts comes out in May, where Bucky will be hanging out with a team of non-Avengers that includes Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Taskmaster, Ghost, Sentry, and Selina Meyer… uh, Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Don’t worry though. I’m sure he and Sam will get to nod steelily if lovingly at each other in Avengers: Secret Wars.

The Winter Soldiering of Isaiah Bradley, and His Young Avengers Grandson

Carl Lumbly’s Isaiah Bradley has one of the grimmest backstories in the MCU. A Korean War vet, he and other African-American soldiers were experimented on in an attempt to recreate the Super Soldier Serum that had turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. Though these efforts led to the deaths of most of his comrades, Bradley survived and was imprisoned by his own government for decades. Eventually he was freed, and it was in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that we learned of his story.

Now, in the trailers for Brave New World, Isaiah appears to have fallen under the control of another malevolent force as he attempts to assassinate Harrison Ford’s President Ross. Was he Winter-Soldiered, in a sense? He’s clearly not doing this by his own accord, but who is controlling him and why do they want Ross dead?

Meanwhile, Bradley has a grandson named Eli. In the comics, Eli is also a member of the Young Avengers and goes by the codename Patriot. Is it possible that he has the Super Soldier Serum coursing through his veins? The MCU sure has been setting up the Young Avengers for a long time now, so if they ever pull the trigger on it, Eli is ready and waiting for the call.

Sharon Carter the Traitor

The once flirty neighbor in The Winter Soldier turned ally and love interest in Civil War, Sharon Carter turned out to be a straight-up villain in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Presumably because she was mad at the government for almost a decade of that fugitive life, the former Agent 13 re-fashioned herself into the Power Broker for reasons that remained mostly off-screen. She wrapped up her time on the show clearly up to no good and planning to use her fresh pardon for fresh crimes.

The loose end factor here is two-fold: Why did she, dear perfect Peggy Carter’s niece, go so bad, and what would it take for her to go good again? She was down to sell super soldier serum to the highest bidder in TFATWS, and the jury is still out on if, as a Captain America character, Sharon even shows up in Brave New World at all. It’s just as likely as it is not. Considering she played such a big part in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this is a mess that might just stay messy, but who knows, maybe she’s behind whatever serum gives the president his new look. Speaking of which…

General - Secretary - President - Red Hulk Ross

Finally getting past Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but perhaps in the wrong direction… When was the last time we actually saw Thunderbolt Ross on screen? Chronologically speaking, that is. Of course, he was the brutish military man/antagonist and would-be father-in-law to Bruce Banner way back when Banner looked like Edward Norton and Ross looked like the late William Hurt. He subsequently popped up only here and there, most notably as a reminder that the Avengers had rules to follow just like everybody else in Civil War. He chased Natasha Romanoff for a while in the Black Widow solo film (which took place after Civil War but before Avengers: Infinity War), but only saw her again on a hologram conference call during Infinity War. He was also at Tony Stark’s funeral in Endgame, which, by our count, was his most recent, in-universe appearance.

In the meantime, clearly he’s had his sights on politics. President Matthew Ellis held the office for at least two terms in the present tense Marvel films, Dermot Mulroney’s President Ritson was commander-in-chief for at least a Secret Invasion amount of time, but somewhere in there, ol’ Thunderbolt Ross entered the political thicket as well. And got or is about to get Red-Hulked along the way. His MCU origins in The Incredible Hulk leave plenty of options as to the how and when and why of his Hulking, one of which is… well… we guess it’s safe to assume he still has a daughter…

The Doctor Was a Woman, You Jerk, and She Was Betty Ross

We’ve had no shortage of Hulk in the MCU and even no shortage of Hulk romance. The dude’s got a kid and everything now. But do you know who it seems has been completely and rudely forgotten about it? His original flame, Betty Ross. I hope they broke up properly at some point.

They kinda were already broken up the last, and first, time we saw Betty back in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. She had another boyfriend and everything, but we all know that dude was more of a spare and Bruce just kinda vanished so there can’t have been any closure worth a damn and Bruce was the only Hulk for her and I just want Betty to be happy is all. Anyway, Liv Tyler is said to be returning for Brave New World, so stay tuned there.

Banner and Betty were already broken up the last, and first, time we saw her back in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.

And while we’re talking about 17-year-old MCU movies, Tim Blake Nelson’s Samuel Sterns, a.k.a. Hulk villain The Leader, is also set to make his return in the film. We’ve got a whole other article and video about this going up this week, so check that out too.

That Celestial Hand

One of the knocks of the MCU since Eternals came out in 2021 – yeah, remember that one? – is that there’s still a giant goddamn hand (and head!) popping out of the ocean. It’s the kind of mind-shattering, “the world doesn’t make any sense anymore” thing that people start religions over, and it’s gotten barely a mention in the years since. Until now!

Based on the trailers, it seems that Marvel is finally revisiting the thing in Brave New World, and it could have a big old nerdy implication for the MCU. Basically, the hand belongs to the cosmic being known as Tiamut, who was – get this – planted by the Celestials millions of years ago as a seed in the center of the Earth. There he grew, feeding off the energy of the human race, and was meant to one day emerge in a not entirely imaginative event called the Emergence, destroying the Earth along the way. (This actually happened in an alternate universe on What If…?) But the Eternals realized this was kind of a sucky thing to do, and so they stopped the Celestial mid-Emerge. Hence giant hand (and head!) sticking out of the Indian Ocean. And hence that age-old Google search term “Why there is a giant statue of a man sticking out of the ocean.” Yes, we have an explainer on that on IGN.

As for why Marvel is finally returning to all of this, as revealed at Comic-Con last summer, it turns out that Tiamut’s body is the source of none other than the precious and super-fake Marvel metal alloy known as adamantium. That moment in the Brave New World trailers when President Ross is almost assassinated? Apparently he’s announcing the adamantium that was recovered from the dead Celestial. Adamantium, of course, is bonded to Wolverine’s skeleton and claws, and the MCU couldn’t use it in the past because the X-Men movie rights were tied up at Fox. But not anymore. As Kevin Feige himself said at Comic-Con, "Just when I think my nerdy life can't get more complete, I heard Harrison Ford say adamantium."

How Messy Is the MCU World Now? Messy as This Recap?

The end of TFATWS featured a typical Captain America inspirational speech, with Captain Wilson encouraging the leaders of the Global Repatriation Council to show some compassion. And Cap himself admitted there are no easy answers to everybody that was blipped, only to return and find other people living in their homes and loved ones having moved on or daughters being like 10 years older somehow instead of just the five years that had gone by (this is an Ant-Man’s daughter in Endgame reference, obviously).

But also, man, none of the other movies seem to have gotten the message. There’ve been almost 20 projects that take place chronologically after TFATWS, and it seems as though Marvel has moved well past being interested in the repercussions of the Blip. Like Sharon Carter, the Flag Smashers, and Baron Zemo (can’t forget about him), it will be interesting to see if Brave New World can live up to being a sequel to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Which is to say, can it be a sequel to The Incredible Hulk, The Winter Soldier, Eternals and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier while also answering lingering questions from three of the four previous Avengers movies?

Like we said… it’s a mess out there.

Let us know what you think of the messy Marvel timeline. Does Brave New World have a chance at cleaning it up?

UK Deals: Pokémon TCG 151 Restocked With A Discount On Amazon

9 février 2025 à 13:51

This isn't clickbait, Pokémon TCG 151 is available at Amazon right now. Whilst it's also sporting an 18% discount at a tidy £23.94, there's a catch. In order to control stock and to avoid availability being scalped, trainers will need to request an invitation to purchase. This deal is going to require a bit of patience as Amazon grant requests on a rolling basis, which is the same deal when they do this for mad discounts on Black Friday.

Pokémon 151 Booster Bundle

Pokémon TCG: 151 Booster Bundle is the best way to rip packs for this set considering it was a mini set. That means no booster boxes, with other options included Elite Trainer Boxes and various box sets. 151 Booster boxes are going for around £69 on the secondary market right now, so it's 100% worth requesting an invite. You can keep it sealed if you want, but there's every chance you could pull some ridiculous chase cards. Here's some of my favourites I hope to pull.

My Top Pokémon TCG 151 Chase Cards

Bulbasaur might be adorable, but this card won’t blow any other trainers out of the woods. At 70 HP, it’s slightly bulkier than some other Basic Pokémon. Still, Leech Seed’s 20 damage and self-healing effects don’t do much in a competitive setting. However, as a collectible, this Illustration Rare Bulbasaur is stunning.

Venusaur ex is a solid tank in Grass decks, with 340 HP and a built-in healing engine thanks to Tranquil Flower. Healing 60 damage per turn while Active gives it serious longevity and Dangerous Toxwhip hits hard while stacking Confusion and Poison. Its four Retreat Cost is painful, but Venusaur ex can be a frustrating wall to deal with in a control-style deck that wears opponents down.

This Illustration Rare Squirtle, is more of a collector’s piece than a meta pick. Withdraw offers a coin-flip chance at temporary invincibility, and Skull Bash’s 20 damage for two Energy is weak. At 60 HP, it’s not surviving long in competitive play. Still, this artwork is fantastic for collectors and makes for a great display card.

Blastoise ex is an absolute powerhouse. Solid Shell reduces damage taken by 30, making it even harder to take down at 330 HP. Twin Cannons is a monster of an attack, dishing out up to 280 damage when discarding two Basic Water Energy. If you’re running a Water deck with Energy acceleration, this is one of the best finishers available.

At best, Charmander’s Blazing Destruction is situational, only helpful in removing a Stadium. Steady Firebreathing’s 30 damage for two Energy is below average, making this card far from competitive. But as a beautifully illustrated collector’s card, it’s a top pick for fans of Charizard’s evolutionary line.

Charizard ex is an aggressive attacker that thrives on damage output. Brave Wing can hit for 160 damage if Charizard already has damage counters on it, making it a strong early-game attack. Explosive Vortex deals a brutal 330 damage, though discarding three Fire Energy hurts its consistency. In Fire Decks with Energy Recycling, Charizard ex is a very playable card.

Take a look at Super Mario World 3D Remake in Unreal Engine 5

9 février 2025 à 15:16

Super Mario World is a classic Mario game that came out on SNES in 1990. In fact, it was one of the launch titles for that 16-bit console. But what if there was a 3D remake of it? Well, today we get to take a look at such a thing. Created by “Bobby Ivar 2”, … Continue reading Take a look at Super Mario World 3D Remake in Unreal Engine 5
